Been a long time since Ive received service this good. The people at Southern Motor Works are very pleasant, professional, and care about their customers. The staff was attentive to my needs while waiting on a lengthy repair. Good conversation, if youre that type, and an overall good vibe for a repair shop...I didnt feel stressed AT ALL. Since I was super patient with the repair (there were quite a few) they threw in some complimentary windshield wipers! Yes, they will tell you about other problems but they arent pushy and will respect your decision. They even go out of their way to save you money. These guys want your business. I had a transmission issue with my 2015 Jetta and had to be replaced. I checked with a few places and ultimately decided to go with Southern Motor Works. I am glad that I did. I had my transmission replaced for under$ 3,000. Was Lot cheaper than dealers and other transmission shops. It works just fine now. Will use them for all my automotive needs. My sincere appreciation to Ron for taking care of my car. Highly recommend this place for all automotive repairs!

At first I was nervous coming to a new shop that I didn’t know about but Ron made me feel welcomed and communicated with me every step of the way. They got my car working in about three days which was surprising since it was a crazy electrical issue that took time to solve. The owner as well is nice as can be. They fixed my exhaust and suggest transmission and brake fluid change, and oil change. First time been to this shop, and I must say that I am very impressed with everything that they did to me and my car. They are very professional and straightforward; they will tell you what you must do in order to keep yourself and your vehicle safe while being on the road. Jimmy is extremely nice and professional; he diagnosed my cars problems real quick and told me how he will fix it. He also did a quick check-point on my car and found other problems and asked me if I wanted to fixed them all or not.After everything, they will give you an invoice which will list EVERYTHING including the PRICES of the parts and their labor-cost for each part. This is the first time that I see an independent shop does this! Besides the stealerships and big chain shops; all other shops just told you the total price without telling you how much you actually paid for the parts! The cool part is that they will list the part-numbers on the invoice, so you can actually google them yourself. Very honest and nice people here, I will come back again when I have problems with my cars.Also, Jimmy is a Vietnamese American, so he can speak both languages fluently.

I had a slew of problems with my vehicle. The staff there was very straightforward and updated me along the process. The quote was also right on when I ended up settling my bill. I was expecting more due to labor, but what he quoted was the actual price. Very great customer service and know their stuff. Highly recommended!

These guys were great. I brought in my 2000 Ford Excursion v10 for a couple of issue I knew it had and asked them to look the rest of the rig over. They provided me a list of level 1 needs ie urgent and level 2 needs to addressed soon. Along with a list of the estimated costs. I was able to take care of some of the level 1 and level 2 items myself. Ron wasnt pushy at all over those items, which was refreshing. The bulk of items I did have them take care of. Fair prices and it was taken care of in a timely fashion. They will be my shop of choice for any mechanical needs I have in the future. I am fortunate to have found a mechanic shop I can trust as I am new to the area.

Ron is awesome and so is Jimmy. My Mustang had a solid engine light because of evap issues . Ron and Jimmy did a great job in getting the evap issues fixed but they also suggested few more items ( like Engine tuning and other maintenance works) which need attention and which would make my car keep running smoother in coming years as well.I am really happy with their work and transparency and eagerness to help you out on those issues which you as a car owner wont be able to perceive. As apart from the evap issue, they suggested to get some other issues fixed tooMy car is running much smoother after Ron and Jimmy worked on it. Jimmy (proprietor) and Ron are pleasant individuals. Jimmy is glad to provide an in-depth explanation of the service or repair needed to resolve the issue.My 2006 F150 needed a new engine. All the attached components, system lines/hoses, wire harness and other associated items had been disconnected and removed. I checked with several shops and couldn’t find anyone who wanted to do the job because engine was disassembled. Jimmy took on the job and truck runs great.On February 18, 2020 I stopped by to talk to Jimmy about the trucks battery. Jimmy was glad to do a load-test on the battery and had me look at the meter to show battery was good. However, since hood was up, Jimmy’s keen eye saw a green spot on the bottom corner or the A/C condenser indicating a leak in the A/C system. I did some research and learned that any leak in the A/C system is detrimental to the other components if not repaired in a reasonable amount of time. I wasn’t thrilled to learn about this unexpected expense but in the long run, it could’ve have been a much costlier repair. I also researched average cost to do this repair in our area; Jimmy’s cost was below the lowest estimate.Glad I found Southern Motor Works and I’m quick to recommend them to friends.

This facility is the physical embodiment of professionalism. I called several other shops to be seen immediately due to my brakes messing up unexpectedly. Everywhere else told me to wait till later during the week. Because brakes aren’t important, right?? I called Southern Motor Works and Ryan informed me that I can be seen immediately today given the severity of the issue. I was greeted immediately and politely. I’m not car savvy in the slightest, but Ryan and Jimmy could sense that and never made me feel less than for not knowing. Jimmy worked out an amazing arrangement for me which he really worked out a good price as far as labor/parts and gave me the courtesy of allowing me to do a split payment. He went above and beyond of what I was able to pay him at the time. They are timely and they actually call you back when your vehicle is ready. This is the first facility that I didn’t have to call back every 5 seconds because no one is answering the phone. My car has never ran this smooth since when I first bought it and I have incredible staff at Southern Motor Works to thank for that.

Everyone there was truly kind and honest, which is a hard thing to find with a car repair shop. The prices are right and fair. They got the job done quickly and treated me as their priority. We plan to continue to use this repair shop for future services and would recommend this place to others. I especially appreciated that they gave me a detailed list of recommendations and then explained which ones were the most important in terms of safety and which ones could wait for now. This was helpful, because some places will tell you something is leaking but not tell you how badly or how long you could probably wait to fix it. I could probably have done most of this work myself, but I find that I do not have the time right now with my work and small children. I really appreciated the quality and speed of the work and the very reasonable price. Excellent all-around customer service. This place is awesome! Jimmy and his wonderful crew were friendly and truly cares about doing their best on your car. Today, I got new brakes, brake pads, and rotors. Audi charged a crazy amount, but Jimmy was so reasonable. Also, they test drove my car a couple of times to make sure my brakes were perfect. Great experience. I knew the general issue based on the code read from a local auto part store, but didnt have the expertise to fix it. They figure out the issue with the emission sensor quickly and recommended some key items to take care of while working on the car which didnt break the bank. Southern Motorworks did a great job of replacing the timing belt and water pump on my 2007 Kia with just over 72,000 miles on it! The work was done in one day and at a reasonable price.
