The first and only time I came here was when an infection got real bad and I was in pain. I should note that I am afraid of the dentist and I haven’t gone in years. I was scared! For me to actually try and go was a big deal for me, I was terrified. When I sat in the chair and had them look at my wisdom teeth, one of the girls was like “ugh!” and walked away. I am very self conscious about my teeth and this set me way, way back. I don’t blame the entire establishment for it, they were very nice and they squeezed me in on short notice. But this experience, even two years later, still hurts my feelings. Stepping into a dentist office now is even more difficult because I am terrified I will encounter another person like this.If she was grossed out by people who are low income and only come in for emergencies, maybe this isn’t the field for her.

Super qualified and professional dental staff and customer service staff, the only thing is that the administrative part should increase the number of doctors in order to meet the high demand for appointments they have. The second appointment is almost always available for two to three months after the first appointment, otherwise everything deserves a rating of 10 or higher.

I don’t get the negative reviews at all. My experience was wonderful. I made an appointment for months from now and then was texted that I could come in the next day because something opened up!!! The front desk staff was efficient and kind and my hygienist even helped me practice español!!! My dentist did my cleaning in record time. All-around awesome experience❤️

Well kept and generally great dentists and assistants. However, waiting an hour with no information about why is unacceptable. I also just found out that they do root canals when they have residents, which is news to me since Ive been sent to Newark, no options of having it done locally. Receptionists are normally great, but today I walk in and have them continue to talk to each other as one is attempting to check me in. You have to pay for parking, so long waits without being informed (which Ive really never had before today) seems a but unreasonable.

Receptionist loudly called me and asked my information. While waiting on her system to load.She had a whole personal conversation with her buddy next chair,When she finally acknowledge my present, she rudely told me my appointment was not today. witch it was a lie . She Looks like we were bothering her and that She didn’t wanna be there today.Dated 8/30/18 @ 11:00am

Im currently taking my SPT (surgical processing technician) internship at the dental building in Dover and the staff there is really friendly and caring toward their patients. I think if I finish my internship Ill apply for a job there. If you are someone with low income and no insurance, then Zufall is the place for you to go. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Got my tooth pulled yesterday. Been existing on a diet of protein shakes and apple sauce...but at least after a few days, Ill be pain free. It turned out, that my initial pain was from a filling that had broken, and a shard of it had embedded itself between the tooth and the gums. Dumb ass that I am...tried my best to ignore it and did so for 2 years... but suddenly, it finally hit a nerve and I was in a world of hurt. I joked about yanking it out of my face with pliers... but after the pull yesterday, I realized that would have been impossible. The tooth was rooted so deep the dentist had to break it apart and pull it out piece by piece.Thank goodness for public clinics like Zufall Dental and Health centers in Dover NJ. Or else Id still be in agony.The office is first come first serve. Its best to get there nice and early specially if its an emergency like my case was. The trained staff were very courteous and tried their best to get me seen right away. The other reviewers giving one star dont seem to understand how public clinics work and assume its got to do with race... a sure sign of ignorance by small minded bigots.

Dr. Juan Alvarez is the worst and a nightmare. Doesn’t talk to you and keeps you waiting for almost two hours then rushes the cleanings in a hasty manner. Never again.

This place is a disgrace. They leave you in the chair for over an hour and no one speaks to you. No one speaks English. They take your money while you’re sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. When you’re in the exam are half the staff isn’t eating gloves while they touch supplies. They then start an exam and leave you half way to go help another patient. They don’t fix any issues there either. They give you a plan of action and send you to Rutgers university to use their dental students. This place should be ashamed of themselves. They are thieves.

Very bad experience. I scheduled an appointment for my sons immunizations, I gave them all my insurance info beforehand. I also called to make sure that everything is ok. When I went there they said that I needed to come back after 2 weeks. Two weeks later, same thing, they said they couldnt see me because they werent sure they take my plan. I had to go to my insurance company and get the proof that my son is covered. They finally had a doctor see him, but guess what? they were out of stock of the immunizations and they didnt know when they are going to order them!! Just wasted my time!!! I will never come back here again!! Please save your time and money and go somewhere else.

I had a very bad experience, they think they are very good dentists and they dont know anything, they charged me a lot for a root canal treatment although it remained infected. I Left a complaint about the teeth still being infected and they refused to claim responsibility over it

In response to the last commenter - yes, there are always a number of Hispanic people there, because this office is in Dover, which is highly Hispanic. They look at me like an alien, but I dont care - I have every right to be there, just like they do. I try to speak Spanish to someone, after which I usually get looked at like ..Hes one of us! If you have a legitimate problem, make an appointment. Regardless of whether you have an appointment, the people who go in before you are, in my experience, the people who got there before you / have an appointment before yours. The doctors are knowledgeable and helpful. If you need low-cost health care, Zufall is the place to go.

Being an American Guyanese Indian and having a half Hispanic son I thought since I live in Dover itll be easier moving my son to that office. My experience with the front desk was great. The facility is well kept, and professional. When dealing with nurses it was different. The first nurse that interviewed my son was professional and kind. The second nurse took my sons vitals and was visually getting annoyed with my son. (Hes 3) I calmed him down and that nurse performed an eye examination, my son couldnt sit still. She stopped the examination abruptly and asked to continue with the hearing exam which my bashful son didnt take seriously. After a minute she left the room and the Doctor came in and said stop being his friend. Wait what ?! Mind you I already had my son take this exam with his last pediatrician in Denville and he passed with flying colors. He gave me a script to see a eye and hearing specialist. He also carried on to say my son needed a second flu shot a booster??? and I asked why since he didnt tell me this when I had him give it 2 weeks before. Mind you Im a nurse, in Morristown, Christ in Jersey City, and Affiliated Physicians a flu shot company which they didnt know.Their education to the public is poor and I guess its because most people in our town do not question the Doctor. How are we supposed to change peoples lives without good education and relations. Nurse to public education not so good in this facility. They have great resources and an exceptional informatics systems but their interactions with the public is poor. Being an American second generation I expected more.

(Hackettstown office) Even with an appointment you are going to be waiting an hour before getting into a room, where you wait some more. They only seem to have 1 doctor on at a time. Mine only works 2 days a week.I had a fill in doc which was actually better than my own, then an appt with my actual doc. Apparently no one looked at my medical records saying the fill in did my exam and i really had no reason to be there.Also, I didnt realize 80% of the Hackettstown population was spanish.

In my life I have never dealt with a more disorganized facility! More than 2 months ago I made an appointment with Dr. Kelly Walsh. Kelly was my doctor at a different medical center before having her children. Thrilled to find her again, I made my appointment to re-establish myself as her patient. I was told I would need a physical, however could do that at Zufalls other office in Hacketttown, than would see Kelly Walsh in their Dover office. I took a day off from work to have my scheduled physical, only to be told that I was given the wrong information and didnt need the physical before seeing Dr. Walsh.. they sent me off with a big so sorry (and I lost a days pay). Finally after waiting more than 2 months, the night before my appt with Dr. Walsh, I get a call from their office cancelling my appointment because they overbooked the doctor!!! Ill never go there again! Its so unorganized and they are very rude - if you are lucky enough to understand their broken English! Im furious, not only did I lose 2 days pay, when I made my appointments, they made me put their doctor on my insurance as my Primary just to get the appointments! Now I need to find another doctor because of my health issues & expiring much needed medications! URG!

When you are freaking out between the end of employment and the determination of your unemployment claim, a broken, infected tooth that needs to be pulled and hurts like hell is grounds for panic, especially without dental or health insurance. Unless you find Zufall, and you let them work with you to find a way to fix your ills at a price you can afford.I was amazed at the amount of work each employee does handling processes behind the scenes, seamlessly figuring out which programs a person in my situation could qualify for and then they gather the needed info, and submit, and attempt to verify that you indeed will be getting those benefits.Then they do an exam w/ xrays if needed. and when you take your Rxs to walgreens you find out that the insurance company is Zufall and you save even freakin more money. If i wasnt in so much pain i would have laughed out loud.regardless of how you feel about government spending and entitlements, you ARE already paying into these programs, and you CAN use them if you need to. Use them responsibly and there is nothing to feel guilty about.In my anxiety and mouth-pain, it was soon obvious to me that id walked into a place where the employees were passionate about helping people, and they really execute that passion. When i realized that, the cold sweat ceased, the muscles in my back and neck loosened and i could breath easily again. the person at the desk looked at me and noticed the change in my demeanor. i said something like i just realized everythings gonna be alright because you got my back, or something to that effect. it was obvious enough to me that it soothed my soul (or some such other cheeseball metaphor)sometimes when working in the heat of that passion, stress is unavoidable. I would not fool myself into thinking that this is being mean or giving bad service, they are literally stressing themselves out trying to help everyone that walks through those doors, to help you out. watch what they do, its intense. i dont think i could keep up with all that, even with ADD. they have to be a special kind. and they are.be aware, the time they spend working for people who need affordable help leads to some serious wait times for appointments. 2 to 3 weeks long. but for the money you save when you dont have it to begin with, the level of service you get is poetic. it sucks to have to wait, no one denies that, but for what this service is, its worth it.due to that long time between scheduling your appointment and when you actually are to be seen, they move pretty quickly to take care of you when you arrive. I can understand someone getting the feeling of hey they are serving all the spanish people before me if you dont figure that part about the appointments out. in fact, those spanish people just happen to be in the front of the line because they just waited 2-3 weeks to be seen. It does not help that you dont understand the conversations. I know a little spanish, and everything i heard was mundane who are you here to see, what time was your appointment, you need to fill out an update form type of thing. Front desk to customer. No worries, just wait patiently. maybe bring some study materials to learn some spanish, just for fun. did not hear anything remotely hinting at favoritism.and yes, in dover, youre going to hear people who speak only spanish. they arent monsters. Most of them are hurting just like i was/am, and they can describe their situation more accurately in spanish than english. what i do know is that Zufall were rigorous with the standards of ID and proof of address, residency etc. while i was there in the waiting room, more or less an hour. there was no reason to see anyone in the office as anything more or less than folks with teeth-problems.so, if you need medical or dental help that cant be put off anymore, and think you cannot afford to seek it, go talk to the people at Zufall, you might just be shocked what they can work out. and if you can be objective, youll observe a pretty remarkable operation.

In this place, the Supervisors are not available, I was here for an appointment and the supervisor looked for him under the stones and he did not appear, it is incredible that the receptionists make their own decisions including Dr Goncalvez Philip, to cancel appointments to patients As they did with me, this day it was my turn to pay the broken plate, just why they do not have an order, but the fault lies with the supervisors who are not doing their job, who pay for it, what poor attention they provide in this place. After one hour the supervisor appeared who only apologized that he could not do anything, that this sometimes happens, I do not understand why they overpass giving appointments if they can not deal with so many patients, this supervisor does not seem to be able to handle a situation as it is, What would it be if it were something more delicate?

This is the worst. If you get late 5 min. They give a new appointment .. waiting for 1 hour and 26 min. And says 2 people ahead. This is the worst medical center. DO NOT CAME HERE. THEY DONT CARE !!!! LAST TIIME HERE.I have never had an experience like this. You cant get there 5min. Delayed that they give you another appointment. Second time they make me wait 1 hour with the pediatrician for more than 1 hour and today waiting 1 hour and 31 minutes. Already and there are still 2 people ahead.
