I’ve been living in Alden Towers for about four months and I must say that moving in was smooth and painless. The staff was friendly and they make you feel like family, they answer all of your questions and if you are having problems with your apartment they fix it right away. I needed to move from my studio apartment and into a one bedroom and they made it easy. I recommend this apartment to anyone who wants an amazing view and easy access to downtown Detroit.

At first I was hesitant, but when I met the management they made me feel welcome and showed me around the property, it is absolutely immaculate. It was built in 1920 and still had the feel of old Detroit. The diversity here is outstanding as well as the politeness of my neighbors. I’ve had zero issues since I moved in and the new management caters to any of my questions or needs. If it wasn’t for the property manager I would probably not be living in Detroit.

Do not move here. I lived in Alden Towers for over a year. While I had a view of the water, that was about the only nice thing about this place. The elevator went out constantly, there were cockroaches everywhere, the parking lot and garage floods all the time. The staff are terrible. You have to constantly email and make phone calls multiple times before anyone gets back with you. The leasing manager has a bad attitude and cannot remember what and who she has told things to. They took money for unpaid rent out of my security deposit when I paid the full amount of what I was billed each month on time. I will now have to escalate this issue in small claims court. Avoid the headache and find a better place to live in Detroit.

My wife and I have lived here for almost 4 years now. We have been loving the experience. Magar has made many improvements to the property over the last few years. The boilers were replaced last year and have been very reliable. They even have an automated power on process now for when we get those surprise cold snaps after 80 degree days. We used to lose power frequently, but they did a major upgrade to the service from Jefferson Ave a couple years ago and we have not had a single issue since then. The elevators would frequently go out and sometimes for days. Magar overhauled the elevators and I cannot recall the last time they were down. We loved the boardwalk on the water. We had so many cookouts and relaxing times there. We met so many people on the water and made many friends. Then mother nature decided to raise the river a couple feet and the boardwalk flooded. We are very excited to see that the seawall is being raised and the boardwalk rebuilt. This will be such an incredible blessing to the community here. It is a gorgeous place to spend a weekend day or casual evening after work. The views of the river cannot be matched by any other apartment building. So beautiful and relaxing. The office staff is very friendly and always helpful. The same for the maintenance staff. They listen to whatever issue you may have and work hard to make it right. Now no place is completely perfect. It is a large community of people so there is always going to be a resident or two that doesnt respect the community. When I have spoken to the office about folks not respecting their community here they address it. The building is 100 years old and some places show their age. On the other hand, the art deco features of the building are so beautiful and distinctive. I love going to the office and walking down the hallway on the east side of the building. The hallway is beautiful and the walls covered in historic pictures of Detroit. The proximity to Belle Isle, the Riverwalk, West Village, Indian Village and Jefferson Chalmers, all areas growing areas, is a huge plus. Bike lanes all over the place. You can get almost anywhere on the Eastside, Downtown, Midtown, Southwest, Eastern Market or North End without ever needing your car.He can highly recommend living at Alden Towers and plan to stay here for many years ourselves.

Recently moved to the Alden Towers I can say my experience was very smooth and the staff were exceptional of making sure I was settled in. My leasing agent was Shanta Daniels who superseded in listening to accommodations and answering questions promptly. To add the maintenance staff Boyd and Gray were very nice too making sure that everything was on point with the appliances and cosmetic of the unit I was moving into. As far as cons- is that the building is an older building so the elevators and hallways are cut narrow so oversize furniture will not be able to fit if over 7ft in length and over roughly 4ft in width! Other than that everything else is good. The property is quiet and I’m sure of any nonsense the staff seems they will carry out actions to make the tenants are living pleasantly.

So happy and blessed that I didn’t go with this apartment. Found out there’s roaches, and the only way to get rid of roaches is to get rid of the building. Don’t let them lie to you!! Horrible customer service in the leasing office as well. Took my money for rent then decided they needed “more information”. Do yourself a favor and keep looking!

I lived at Alden Towers for 1 year. The location was the best part of living here, as it was right on the water and close to downtown. The staff is kind, and will do what they can to help you. The apartment complex was undergoing renovations for my entire 1 year lease. It was always loud and incovenient. The water was shut off more than once a month and with very little notice. There were many areas of the complex that completely closed due to flooding. I had to make multiple maintenance requests for my ceiling leaking, on three separate occasions. The hallways always smelled like cigarette smoke. The elevators were old and often were out of order. I ended up moving out before my lease was over.

The security person always seemed friendly. The bad:*That is pretty much where my enchantment ends, the elevator shaft always has water in it.*The elevator makes sounds like it is being exorcised on every use.*The basement smells of sewer water all the time. There are trash piles everywhere.*Furniture is being left all over, especially the basement.*In our apartment, the floorboard always come up. My fiance ended up with a loose nail in his foot 😳The emergency lighting on my floor did not work properly and the lack of emergency lighting in my stairwell was quite disappointing as well as a safety issue. You definitely get what you pay for here.

Hi worldI moved to Alden Just before village green took over . It has been just a few months but I love the difference in staff. My experience so far has been great. I live in a Detroit classic . 95 years old this year. Earlier this month the boat races went right by my building I could almost feel the spray.. how cool is that. West village close by .And some of the best pizza in the city is a block away . My apartment is a really nice size with an old school cool charm. I did have a hot water issue for a few days but maintenance handled it pretty quick. Garage parking could be a bit better organized. But if thats my biggest issue we are doing alright. Oh and we have a Concierge now he is great .I have not taken advantage of this service as of yet But way to go Alden. We appreciate the love..

Although I have had a couple of issues here and there (mostly out of Aldens hands), the staff has always been genuinely great. Specifically, anytime I have needed anything at all, Stephanie Burrill has always been timely with responses and has worked with me on anything Ive needed to get it done rather quickly. I asked her if there was anywhere to leave a review for her performance to a manager, and she directed me here for the greater good of the propertys reviews. As someone who works in people related issues on a daily basis at my job, this was nice to see. Keep up the awesome work, Stephanie, and all the staff at Alden!

Its hard to write this article because the building is in transition to new owners and new management. I would have written a more negative review had that *NOT* been the case. However I see a whole lot of potential both with the new management and the new owners. Its a kind of dance with that kind of a team because even the best management team in the world wont be able to accomplish much if the owners arent in the game with them. That being said, the property was clean and the security forces do a good job keeping things in order. I really liked the layout of the unit I had and the lack of noise inside the building. The week I moved out was the week the new management started. From what I could see they had their act together and did a very professional job. That even beared out with their prompt handling of the deposit and such.I met the Magars (Sam and his wife) and they were very pleasant people who have a plan on how they are going to bring these apartments to where they need to be.If I had to do it again I certainly would with them at the helm. However without seeing it, I couldnt give the 5 stars -- however I have a good feeling that they will be able to carry out their plans.

Have been here for a year, building is a little on the outdated side but the apartments them self are great. Have had no serious issues just minor things maintenance came and fixed (maintenance is real nice by the way). People in the office are kind and always tying to help. Location is great, private river walk is really nice. The way the building was built is very unique with 2 different hallways that take you on a stroll down the history of Detroit. The one thing that would be great is more guest parking. Very few guest parking spots and unauthorized vehicles in the actual lot will most likely get towed. Overall great place and very unique, would definitely recommend!

Sad. Could have been a 5...Odd situation - i signed a lease with a roommate or two, and as the year passed, people came and went (which happens). Anyway, our lease ended with Alden cranking up our rent on a 2 bed, 1.5 bath from $997 a month to over $1400. And now? We supposedly owe them $1600? My other roommates have proof, and Alden, you’ve seen it. You. Were. Paid. I lived in C312 if you need to contact me.

I have been here a little over a month and have been very happy. I have been very impressed by the office staff, particularly Courtney, who have always been very helpful with any questions I have. The apartment itself was very nicely remodeled and I love living right on the water. The valet and underground garage are both features I never thought I would be able to afford in my price range, and I have been very happy with both. While it is an older building and sometimes my apartment can be a little warm, I am overall very very happy with my decision and I highly recommend this property.

Yes, the building is almost 100 years old so it has its quirks and I have had to call on maintenance but they have always been prompt and I have never been left without here. Valet prices changed slightly but along with that comes the knowing that my guests cars are safe. I would recommend Alden Towers to anyone! And our rent is $1500 for a two bedroom disfunctional unit. Probably going to try and break my lease before the snow falls so moving again won’t be so bad.I guess they have some new management now so if this is “better” I’m not sure what it was like before.Great view though! Alden Park Towers used to be a good place to live in. I enjoyed my first year here. There was plenty of parking for tenants and their guests. Now there are only eight guest parking spaces for all four buildings. If there isnt a spot, your guest parks on the street or has to pay to valet their car for the night. If you have a maintenance problem, dont even think itll get done in a timely manner. I reported a maintenance issue in late November. It still has not been fixed. Even after countless calls and visits into the leasing office. Only a few people who work in the leasing office take their job seriously. The rest are a complete joke. Any time I call, I usually get attitude. We lived at Alden from 2014-2017. The first year, a studio. Noisy pipes in the winter that would loudly bang all night long. Roaches started appearing from the wall where the bathroom mirror hadn’t been attatched properly. Other than that, we had beautiful river views & it was nicely decorated. We decided to stay an extra two years in a one bedroom on the 4th floor. We had neighbors who came and left that were so loud we called security almost every night to no avail. Tonnes of centipedes coming out of the radiator grates. Again, nicely decorated and good value for money. Close to downtown and Belle Isle. Awesome views and a beautiful building. Maintenance were always super friendly and came out as soon as they could to fix an issue. The cleaning staff were amazing and would always stop for a chat. Parking / security terrible. A lot of residents were noisy/left trash everywhere. Basement was and probably still is a nightmare.

Ive only seen spiders but that is expected in an old building and as soon as I sprayed around my unit I dont see them again. Ive lived here about a year now and this is BY FAR the worst place to live, and not because of the apartment itself. The power in the entire complete was off for 48 hours. There was no explanation given and no apology. The office didnt even have answers when we walked the 8 flights downstairs and to the front of the complex. They were unsure about a time it would be turned back on. The water has been shut off three times. Again with no explanation. I found out by standing with hair dye in my hair and no water to rinse it out. No warning given. Twice now women have been assaulted. We were not warned, or told to look out. In fact, we were told no questions could be answered but they are pretty sure the assailant was caught. My information came from running into the assailant as he attempted to flea and seeing the young woman crying in the office. The lights are never on in the underground parking which is bother dangerous and terrifying. My best friends apartment was broken into and they wouldnt let her break her lease without paying the remainder of the 6 month term. Repairs on my apartment have been in progress since October. My Windows still dont stay open without help from a bottle to hold them up. Oh and parking. Though I live in the back tower, my guests are required to walk through the entire building (a 10 minute walk) instead of parking in back. There are only 8 guests spots so they have to find other parking if those are taken. Im so glad my lease is up. This is the worst management company I have ever had the misfortune of encountering.

I looked at these apartments about 5-6 years ago and they were still doing massive amounts of renovation so we didn’t move in due to the noise, and the elevators being FRIGHTENING. Based on the reviews, seems like they never actually finished working on the elevators like they claimed. Sad to see village green took over, nothing but issues with them and their security at the Elmwood Park apartments when they purchased them. BUGS all over at Elmwood as well so not surprising that they are letting bugs run rampant here. We moved out at the right time because they ended up with a bed bug infestation about 8 months after. I observed him viciously and aggressively verbally lash a guest in front of an audience of potential residents. I disregarded the incident and kept to myself. For the past month, Ive been ill and have been instructed to be on bed rest to recover. As a new resident, I have multiple packages delivered that are shipped in boxes. Im always in a hurry to get my home Im working order, so after I assembled my items, I placed the empty boxes into the freight elevator and notified office staff. I informed Andrew that due to my health, it would be difficult for me to carry the items to the disposal site. He informed me that maintenance will assist. This conversation was communicated at 9:00am Thursday September 27th, 2018. Around 6:45pm, the boxes were delivered back to my apartment by staff; so I moved the boxes back to the freight elevator and informed the office staff. Michael is an amazing employee, and he is aware of my health concerns. He informed me that he would talk to maintenance in the morning. Shortly after I walked out of the leasing office, I heard Andrew state, hold up, he proceed to quickly approach me stating didnt we talk earlier?, in which I confirmed and restated my concern, in which he replied We are not a trash service. I was taken aback by the tone and aggressiveness of his approach. I quickly thanked him for his time and retreated. I have never been so offended in my life, I was on the verge of crying and contacting the authorities to file a report.Shortly after I retreated and calmed down, I returned to the office to obtain his business card. The level of unprofessionalism, is not what this lovely community needs, and it will hinder the growth of the establishment. Lived here for 18 months, before and after Village Green took over. Previous management wasnt the greatest but they didnt scam you. Paid $911 (water and trash included) for a one bedroom with a parking lot view and two cars. When the lease was up they wanted $950 plus trash, water, and increased parking fees for us to stay (claimed it was the new market value. Wrong, places we looked at were around $100 less with amenities and parking included). I left with so many complaints after VG took over. First, with the parking lot being so small and price you pay for parking (which VG raised it fom $65per car per month to almost $100per car per month- more if you wanted to park in the underground garage) you would hope they would have a parking officer enforcing permits (old management did and cars with no permit were stickered and towed almost daily) but I never saw anyone out there or saw any tow notice stickers after the switch, despite seing non-permit cars all the time. On top of that, the entry way was super tiny and people waiting for valet would constantly block the front driveway so you couldnt get in or out. Second, old mainenece would take a few days to get back to you but eventually fix things, but after VG, we had parts of our ceiling falling down in August 2017 that progressively got wose, and it was still not fixed by June 2018 when we moved out. Same with water damage in our bathroom from March 2017 (when a rainspout disloacated from the roof and channeled all the melting snow into the walls) that was never fixed. Their excuse for not fixing our requests was that we never gave them permission to enter when we werent home (I put in three different requestes and gave permission every time). They also drilled two giant holes into our kitchen walls looking for a leak that wasnt there, and never patched up the holes (just slapped some plywood over it).... they apparently didnt need permission to enter when it meant damaging our apartment, only fixing it. Third, we got bedbugs living there and saw several cockroaches IN OUR APARTMENT ON THE 4th FLOOR! Cockroaches in the baisement were almost a daily signting. Fourth, despite starting to charge for water, they would shut it off almost every other week for maintence, and it was constantly only two extremes - brown, or smelled like a swimming pool. Fifth, you cant control your heat beause its all through the old built in raidiators - its either on or off via old valves on the wall. In our bedroom with one small window it was regularly 80 in the winter because we couldnt close the valve all the way and we needed to run a window A/C year round so we wouldnt boil. Sixth, again despite starting to charge for trash pickup, the dumpsters were overflowing out into already limited parking spaces weekly. Seventh, the laundry facilities were only in 2 of the 4 buildings, and half of the macines were out of order on any given day. Eigth, the elevator shaft would flood when it rained you could hear it sloshing and dripping as you used it. The buttons would light up on their own from the water conducting through the bottom. Finally, when we were moving out, three of our friends helping us move got stuck in the freight elevator in the basement in late May when it was getting warm out. We contacted security who COULDNT FIND THE MANAGER ON DUTY. We mangaed to pry it open on our own with a piece of furniture and needed to use the standard elevator for the rest of our furniture. Lo and behold when we started using the standard elevator to move our furniture out, Management magically appeared and yelled at my husband and helpers for holding up the elevator and said we should be using the freight elevator (apparently he was still unaware it was broken and stuck in the basement). I wasnt present for this exchange, but had I been I would have MADE him aware. None of it was Luxury. None of it was a pleasant experience. They really didnt care about the residents at all. Dont let the charming old, vintage feel fool you. The place was awful, and way overpriced.

When I seen this place I said this is it, now Im confused about the place because of the comments. $895 for a two bedroom and all they saying is happening, should I reconsider or what. My fiance and I are looking for a place to claim as our home for a long period of time. Wow how do I deal with this one. Guess I keep looking.

These words are coming from a letter the management sent to all residence of Alden (park) Towers. 8100 East Jefferson Avenue Detroit, MI 48214As renovations have progressed, we have decided that economic necessity requires that we renovate all of the units at once as opposed to as they become available throughout the four towers. CONSEQUENTLY WE ARE TERMINATING ALL EXPIRED AND MONTH-TO-MONTH LEASES in order to accelerate the renovation process. So they gave all residence 30 day notice to vacate or relocate to a renovated apartment. Shiny appliances and a different color paint, does not constitute renovations.Management company KMG Prestige are the the worst!Giving Detroit fair warning.

The entire building is infested and they aren’t doing anything about it. Please do not move here . I can’t wait to move out.

WORST PLACE EVER. People dont care, unfriendly, dirty, smelly, un organized....were stuck here and we cant leave becuase of a $4,000 fee to break the lease. So many conditions are unacceptable, and yet they continue to get a way with it. Elevator broke for two weeks, water was flooding the entire basement, our unit smells like weed every single night, mold, dirt, broken fixtures, lights, nothing gets fixed....worse experience Ive ever lived in.

Wouldnt recommend living here. The security is a joke, management is a joke, and they have bed bugs. You have to pay $65 a month extra for parking, and your guest have to pay for parking ($5), and you have to sign your guest in and out like you live in a college dorm. After only being here for 2 months my ceiling started leaking (which reined most of my passions), they fail to compensate for the possessions lost and it took them a month to fix it. Not to mention that the elevator never works properly, people get stuck in it all the time. I hate living here and I cant wait until my lease is up. The only thing I like about this place is the river front view it offers to its residents.

I am just moving out now, and have had a great experience. I was one of the first people to live on the 7th floor of the D Tower. During my stay here, the maintenance staff have been wonderful. I would email in an issue and it was fixed within a couple days. While I was gone on a trip a pipe burst in my wall. They fixed it, and did a great job of cleaning up. The valets have been awesome. I text them in the morning, and they will either have my car out front, or put my key in my car for me. The lost my key once, and gave me cash as compensation until they found it a half hour later.Yes, sometimes the elevators have issue, but having the freight elevator as a backup is a great thing. In the summer it gets warm without a/c, but I always had fans pulling in air from outside, and it was never unbearable. The laundry facilities are top notch, free WiFi, and I dont know how they have the power worked out, but my most expensive electric bill was $16.97 in August. All in all, I am very happy with my stay at Alden Towers. Yes, there are some trash people in the buildings, but my hope is that as more and more young people move to Detroit, that the trash will be forced out. A water view of Belle Isle was a great was to live.

I moved To Alden from another state and it was sooo smooth. The PREVIOUS management company’s were WAYYY better. Village Green Is awful, It’s weird to hear them promote customer service. It couldn’t be MORE obvious that NONE of the staff members have been trained, took a workshop or even read a book on Customer service. They use very deceptive practices and DO NOT listen to the residents concerns at all. All they do is DEFEND. they are NOT for residents . I repeat if a resident tries to voice a concern.... they will DEFEND and Disrespect . They are seriously condescending , patronizing and often downright disrespectful. As long as YOU agree with All their practices and ideas... you’ll be fine.Village green could benefit from diversity. They had 2 women at one point which were both very rude. Not shannon so much but a taller one with Dark hair... the staff changes ALL the time. but I haven’t ever seen anyone of color working there and they are managing 4 Towers of mostly brown people. They are NOT culturally competent and often make residents feel disempowered. I speak to other residents in the hallways and mostly everyone agrees that this management company makes it uncomfortable to live at Alden.Alden Towers is a beautiful building with so much charm but I am very sad about the direction it’s going on. Also, They raise rent $200-$400 a year and blame it on Market Value. and don’t do leases longer than one year. One staff member pretended to be shocked that the rent had raised so high but after speaking to the other residents it was obvious the employees was lying because she gave the same rehearsed speech about market value to us all! moreover , parking went up and TWICE this month i cancelled work because i couldn’t get OUT the garage due to overcrowding. The valet staff actually told me to park on the street despite me paying $100 a month to park here. The garage it TOO overcrowded and it keeps getting worse. The washers machines have AWFUL water pressure which often results in you having to wash multiple times to insure that all your clothes even get wet! it is NOT a secure building ... security is NOT always there and anyone could get in. Ultimately it’s unfortunate how prices are rising and the value is going down! Also, they charge a $50 late fee if you’re late a day. they do NOT have grace period ... there is NO visitor parking and it’s located off of East Jefferson , gated. Literally ... There is NO street parking ... Whose idea was this ? VILLAGE green!they removed guest parking to make room for all the new residents which bring in more money! all they care about is receiving income, not residents comfortability at all!4 towers full of residents who can barely have guest because they’re no where for them to park! smh!

DONT MOVE HERE! THE MANAGEMENT STEELS CARS!This management team is corrupt and completely incompetent. They are by far the most unorganized apartment management team I have ever met. They gave no documentation of the parking agreement then arbitrarily raised the price without telling us after it became cold outside. They actually towed my car off the lot one time. I pay for a parking pass and it was in my window. Also Chris Hines is the rudest person I have come into contact in the state of Michigan.

I lived in Alden Towers for a year and a half and left in a bittersweet trance to relocate out-of-state for a great job opportunity. To say my experience at Alden Towers was terrific would be an understatement. The location is incredible; its walking distance to Belle Isle, in-between two Detroit Police precincts, gated with security, right on the river and a short Lyft ride downtown. Its close to universities, the Ren Cen, great restaurants and entertainment/sports venues. The building is exquisite, built in the early 1920s during the Motor City boom, it takes you back in time. The building management does an excellent job of maintaining the property. The maintenance staff is on call 24/7; on Christmas Eve, Richard came and fixed an electrical outage in my apartment. At a time of rebirth in downtown Detroit, it was incredible to be part of the Alden Towers community. Neighbors consist of students, empty nesters, young professionals and retirees of all races and cultures. I was welcomed in the hallway, laundry room, parking lot and lobby with smiles and polite conversation. My only regret is that I did not move into Alden sooner. The price is right and the time is now!! The property has my highest recommendation.

I have been here for year and it has heen a tough time. The management even the though friendly ,are very unorganized the security company is very unorganized and in turn harassing to the residents. The power here has been out three times in the last year for days at a time causing every one to loose all the food they brought. Also the water goes out during construction on jefferson. The valet is nothing to write home about either in my first few months they stole money from my car and were very rude. I will say the lower management(leasing consultants) try to do the best they can but its even tougher for them because they have had four bosses in the past year! Great people live here , business professionals, elderly, young students, its very diverse. The water view is awesome, especially in the summer. The building itself bolds alot of history being so old but with that the architecture wasnt designed for large furniture. The cleaning staff is awesome and very friendly as well and the gym and laundry facilities are top notch. In all if you can get past all the short comings and the constant scary elevator experiences its a decent place to be just not designed for a long term stay if ask me which is unfortunate because the location is wonderful.

STAY AWAY from these apartments.OMG HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.I recieved a package from usps(actually it is a brand new s6 edge plus mobile along with bluetooth headset total 500$ worth) ..it showed it was delivered in front of my door..but i couldnt see any delivery(IT WAS STOLEN).This is second time losing my packages. Security and office team are the most unkind staff I have ever encountered in an apartment complex.EBONY in apartment leasing office says that she has nothing to do with that.Saying that she cant guarantee the saftey .I even asked about security cameras to check the details if she could find but she(EBONY) refused to check them. Instead she started giving lectures that i should check with the online purchase if they can resend other item as it was stolen and also mentioning that i should make sure about signature confirmation with my next purchase.Vallet parking is a big joke.

This is the absolute worst apartment building to live in ever - and its 100% because of employees who work in the office downstairs, and the realtor company that owns it.The employees in the office are always rude and unhelpful. Rarely are they available, and rarely do they actually do something as promised or in a timely manner. If you expect your security deposit back, you will have to call and email the manager several times. The only employees that are helpful are the security staff and the maintenance staff. They are fantastic, and they are quick too.The building was out of power 2 times in the summer of 2015, for 24 hours (every building/business around us on the same street had power by the way). There are no hazard/safety lights on our floor, or in the stairwell. Very dangerous. I saw one floor had working safety lights, but that was all. I decided to call the apartment building to see what was going on, because they have no way of contacting tenants AT ALL. The employee who answered, said she had no idea if the power was on, because she was in Colorado (their corporate office is in Colorado). They have an answering system that doesnt even direct your call to your building!! I asked for a direct number to our office in our building, but she said she couldnt give me that information. So I have no way of finding out any information. They say they have free wi-fi, but its the spottiest/worst wi-fi. You have to manually re-connect every 10-15 minutes or so. Their Wi-Fi support team doesnt even have a direct number to call, it always goes to voicemail. This company will do anything to not actually talk to its tenants. The property is absolutely beautiful, but the building is cheaply renovated, and the realtor company is poorly run. No customer service to be heard of.

I lived in A tower on the 6th floor and this was the worst residential experience EVER!!! When I first moved in, it seems the unit wasnt inspected. A closet light was inoperative, nails in the floor were exposed and lifted, and the carpet was grimy. No problem, I handled it after waiting 2+ weeks for maintenance.I bought brand new furniture within a week of moving in,including bed and bedding to learn the building is prone to bedbugs!!! And yep they were in my apartment. Sooo.... repack all my stuff and let their pest control people slice holes in the bottoms of my NEW leather sectional and leather dining furniture to spray!!!Then theres the continual elevator failures. I feel sorry for residents on walkers, canes and in wheelchairs, because they are absolutely stuck on the upper levels with no service from Alden. The valet company damaged my suv,and although they paid for the repair, my vehicle still was damaged!Theres routinely a power outage in this place. The laundry facilities stay dirty and 1/2 the machines arw rinoperative. My vehicle got a big orange sticker on it even though the little blue resident sticker was placed and visible. But the kicker...3 months before my lease is up, I get a notification saying if I want to renew, the new rate goes up $200 monthly OR $1000 month to month!!!!Dont be suckered....January 31,2016...910pm, the power has been out for 4 hours. Alden Towers is the ONLY dark building on the ENTIRE E . Jefferson stretch except for empty abandoned buildings, some of which still atleast have an operating streetlight. UNACCEPTABLE
