In the few months Ive been here so far Ive found:Pros: Everyone Ive spoken with in the office is super nice so far and they were really welcoming. Theyre receptive to issues too, which is refreshing. The price is pretty good too for the space you get. They fixed my initial issue with my mail key in a quick manner. Also, the washer and dryers are really reasonably priced and ACTUALLY work the first time around (as long as you dont overload it of course).Cons: The security is lacking, I wish there were hall cameras. The gym is still not open (I understand renovations but the lack of updates has been very frustrating), and thats part of the reason why I chose to live here. My neighbors above me are very loud and theres loud construction in the apartment next to me (with work from home its very distracting). I wish I wouldve been notified of it beforehand. The text message feature to communicate with the office could use improvement.Overall, a good price for what you get. If you luck out on neighbors youre great, but the walls are thin so if theyre not the best youre out of luck. Im hoping with the new management, once all the changes go through that things improve. I can say though that as of right now I doubt Ill renew my lease. Most of my major issues are more situational based off of where my apartment is, Ive had no issues with the management so far.

This experience was terrible i would never recommend anybody to stay here they dont have anything under control packages have been stolen from my door not enough space to park trash is always everywhere i have to constantly keep calling them back to back and they never answer come when they want too. This is all i have to say for know i would never stay here again.

Toured September 2021. No straight answers, obvious turnover in managers, a game of neighbor roulette. I was showed a showcase unit, not a actual unit. Warning #1. New special has you paying all the utilities and they couldnt get a estimate. Warning #2. Tiny air conditioner for a 2 bedroom and electric heat. Warning #3. Pool was closed, gym was closed.Warning #4. School bus arrived and so many kids got off. Warning #5. Odor in hallway and lots of tenent trash. There was a lot to like, or that I could live with, but the shadiness and uncertainty is too much risk.

Literally the worst place you could ever live. My car has been illegally towed and I had to pay tow bill still. They sneak extra rent into your monthly rent and then act as if they dont know anything and claim they will find out and give you a call back but not only do they not do that but they also dont answer the phone litterally ever unless youre lucky. They have people come inside your apartment without posting notices so you think someone may have broken in. Management changes daily. This place is litterally a joke. You would be better off staying on the street

I’ve lived here two years now and just being honest. Trash everywhere, worst management ever. They never get anything done. Very rude lady in the office. The old one. Hallways always stink and no security people always get stolen from here.

I am going to be really irritated if these kids that are breaking the rules and I’m the pool when it closed at five. Gets the pool closed for good. You might as well put the paddle lock on the gate because they are pushing the exit button to get in to the pool

This is my first apt. and the people here have been outstanding, its clean ,safe, and secure. My Mom and Dad even approve ! I give the management 2 thumbs up!

Went to the office 7 times about my light fixture in the closet, about the water coming from the sealing from the neighbors toilet, about my sink was clocked, about the slider window got stock, but they never came, they never showed probably they didnt even care, I know the answer its going to be like, OH PLEASE CALL US SO WE CAN TAKE CARE OF IT, dont bother I moved out last month, all because that management was worthless, so make your self a favor and go elsewhere, but if you decide to give them a try , Im just going to say be ready.

I have lived here for about three years here now and this place has been the worst place ive lived yet. Hallways reek of garbage and cat litter, people leave trash just wherever they want. Laundry room is disgusting and filled with more trash and people just leave their clothes where ever they please. The office doesnt always get back to you in a timely manner or a matter of fact at all if you have any questions or concerns. Very frustrated with this new management, these are not conditions anyone would want to be living in especially during a pandemic.

Moved out, no statement was sent to show balance remaining. No phone calls received. And suddenly I have a collection now. I called to speak to the manager and he insists one was sent out despite there being 3 forwarding addresses and multiple phone numbers. No calls received. This is a scam and sickening. Oh and apparently there are other people this has happened to. Beware.

There is always some kind of issue with this complex. Whether it be no heat in the winter, to no notice from the water is going to be turned off, to roaches and having to call repeat of times to management to have them send out pest control, which mind you, we are billed for every month, to rude staff and now the city has cut the waterline so nobody in this complex has water, the complex is doing nothing to help the residents I would not recommend anyone move in these apartments!! If you do, it will be a bad experience from day one!!!

The biggest issue was that monthly payment continued to increase because we shared in the building bills. Pool was always dirty. Be prepared to fight the snow in the parking lot.🌟 🌟 for a spacious living room/hallway closet and a back yard for the kids.

Excellent Location, Well Managed, Quick Response, and Resident Friendly Management. Highly Recommend this place!!My wife have been living here for almost a year, and I moved here few months ago. Since the new management came, this place has been excellent for the residents. The management do their best in resolving any issues. They are open for suggestions to make the residents experience better. This place offers Gym and pool access!Since the new management came, our rent went up by $25 dollars! If it does not continue every year, were planning to stay here until we get our own house!!!!

Management is awesome and very responsive to any issues I bring to their attention.

New Management. Super friendly and professional. New work out room with brand new ellipticals and treadmills. Offering many perks and incentives such and carpet cleaning. Also solved leak issue with actually calling a plumber. Very impressed with this. Our 3 bedroom is huge. Grounds are beautiful .

I used to live here 12-15 dont know why it has a low review now but it was pretty fun over there.

This is really bad this terrible run for the hills save your money it’s really not a good place to live my experience was terrible my ceiling is leaking haven’t been here 2 hours , the apartment is in bad condition the apartment is disgusting!! I can’t believe people are still taking advantage of others !!! The worst apartment I’ve ever seen!! First night here I have to stay in a hotel do to the horrid conditions !! Was supposed to be remolded looks more like a persons last resort!!!

It was taken over recently by new management in September. They have been great. Very nice and they go out of their way. Chris and Kristine are AWESOME !!!!! Polite and on time on everything.

I have lived here for 3 years any issues I have when I call the office and are usually delt with same day if not usually within week since new management has taken over. They are super friendly and easy to talk to.

I just moved in at the end of September right after the new management took over. I have been extremely pleased with the quality and response time of maintenance as well as the friendly and helpful office staff. They really helped make my move to the area that much easier!

Living at Greys lake apartments before the new manager took over was concerning. Chris, Krissy and garret the new faces of Greys lake have sincerely turned everything around. Thye never make you feel like a burden for questions or concerns, they handle tough issues well and professionally to resolve any issues that come about. They have also really improved my apartment building and turned it around to make living here comfortable. I cant thank these people enough for taking on this apartment building and turning it around to a good place to live. Yes, there is some ups and downs about living in an apartment building like noisy neighbors and thin walls. But thats every apartment building. What matters most is good tenants and clean environment and a manageable landlord and those are all checked with Greys lake. I can tell Chris really wanted to change this complex around and he did just that. Thank you for the new siding and paint jobs and keeping the building clean and everything you do.

Grays Lake has new management and has been fantastic ever since they took over. Maintenance is now being taken care of, the office staff actually cares and is very friendly and helpful. They are definitely on the ups.

I did a tour here last week with Krissie and she was really great! She took me down to every apt I wanted to see, EVEN AT SHORT NOTICE. Answered all of my annoying questions and was super professional and fun. She was well informed about the property and the area and told me about local events. Unfortunately my job wanted me in Ankeny otherwise indefinitely would have rented here. The apartments are spacious and I LIVE FOR the balconies.

I have lived here almost 9 years. and i can say its been a joy, they keep up with all that needs to be done. the staff is friendly, the apartments are really nice. it has a pool,gym room,contest, and other things. come check them out !

Ever since new management took over in October 2020 the property has been great to live at. They have done a lot of work and customer service has been great.

Dont move here. Pests, everything breaks and maintenance arent certified to do any work, and management is a joke.

The new management company has been great. They are always friendly and prompt whenever I have any questions or need maintenance in my apartment.

We have been living here for 4 years now started off with a one bedroom and just moved into our new two bedroom apartment and had problems with it, the manager was quick to fix it and even agreed to let us move into a 3 bedroom if we continue to have problems with it.They are wonderful people and always quick to fix any problems you might have, I would strongly recommend this apartment and happy to have started a family here soon to add another little one to this wonderful place.

Office staff is very friendly and helpful. Any issue Ive had theyve dealt with, they are strict but theyll help with whatever you may need. I enjoyed my experience living here at Grayslake Apts and would recommend anyone with a small family to move here. Schools are near, its a great place to raise your children. I thank them for the opportunity of living here. If you mind your business and stay to yourself, your experience here will be great!

The absolute WORST place to live. The halls smell so bad, they try to make it look like they care about the halls by having a person come to clean them every so often by vacuuming... The communication is terrible the lady told me I had to be out before the date that my lease was up so listening to her I did. And they slapped me with a 1,600 dollar fine for leaving when THEY told me to. And my rent was only 935 plus 25 dollar pet fee. Why in God’s earth would I pay 1,600 dollars? Not only that I gave them 500 for pet deposit (non-refundable) & 300 dollar down payment that they kept. So they think that I’m going to pay 1,600 dollars on top of the 800 they have, just for moving out supposedly 1 month early. The kids in the area are terrible the bully cuss & distroy everything they possible can. In the laundry rooms there was a leak for a WHOLE year straight and they did NOTHING about it. Maintenance actually put up a sign that said “Stop reporting this leak we already know about it!” I’m sure there black mold all over the place down there. It’s a nightmare to live here. I would suggest living at homeless shelter before coming here.

Chris, the manager, always greet you with a smile and listens to our concerns. He tries to correct the issues in a timely manner.

Staff is desperate to place families in code violated units. Code violation throughout whole complex. Balcony was removed told it will be 2weeks before it was replaced after lease was signed. Its been a month. Dirty place to live. Rude staff all but the manager and maintenance. Requested for 2 additional keys when lease was signed and still waiting. Was told that it was nothing they were going to do to make my unit safe for my kids and I only have 1 way in and 1 way out with all the construction. These units should not have been rented. The woman in the office is the worst. She talks about people in Spanish thinking that they dont know Spanish but I do and understood everything she said about me to co worker and I made it clear that I understood. Dont make the same mistake we did run run run u will thank me later. So much more but if I could give a 0 I would lol. My family feels very unsafe here finally got them to replace a light bulb outside so we can see how to get into out building going down stairs. It was pitch black. Lord help us.

I have lived in Grays Lake apartments for about one year. My two bedroom apt is very spacious especially the HUGE closets. The location of the Grays Lake is smack in the middle of all places that I need to go. I love and appreciate that my garage is close to my door. I appreciate the hard work that people do around here. Of course it is not like living in a home but I am glad that I chose Grays Lake apartments to live in.

Property is under new management and it really shows. Office staff is really nice and they helped me find my affordable new home.

Well Ive lived here for almost a year and this by far has been the worse place Ive ever lived. Ive experienced two different groups of management and one was okay and the other very displeasing. I wouldnt recommend you stay here unless you would like to deal with crappy water, poor management, pest and rodents yes because I would consider myself clean, but according to the management here the small critters is a typical thing in Iowa. Also pot smoke from your neighbors smelling up the hallway, and thin walls. (in case you have noisy neighbors). I have to deal with my water going from ice cold to scolding on the daily. Management attempted to fix the problem, but who really know what they actually did. Its a handful of things I could go on about, but in general just not and ideal place to stay unless you are desperate. Ill advise you to keep looking elsewhere because if you dont you will be here typing what went wrong later. To be honest the management never cared and I dont think it will change. They just suck you in, (with there move-in specials) then once your in just hope you land a nice apt with cool neighbor if not definitely a bad investment.SincerelyBuilding 2 somewhere

This place is great. The management is very helpful and nice and so is the maintenance crew. They dispatch a group of people to walk the grounds and pick up trash every morning. Theyre quick to reply and act whenever there is a problem. They even had a pancake breakfast for everyone here.

They nickle and dime you on everything they can while doing the bare minimum. Also they have a contract with an internet provider that nobody had ever heard of to force tenants to use that service. Cant wait until my lease is up. They also dictate the temperature in the winter and will shut off the AC unit when they deem that its cold enough outside.

I lived here for a year and a half and it is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. From day 1 the experience was terrible, the front office was extremely rude and unhelpful when we were trying to move in. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because it is cheap. Rent was cheap, the buildings were cheap, the service was cheap, and management was cheap. If you are looking to live somewhere with inexpensive rent please do not live here.

Ive lived here for four months and have had a positive experience. I moved from a home and thought apartment life would be a disaster. My building is quiet. When Ive had a request for maintenance, they have been promt. I do live on the second floor so no one is above me. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is the worst place that I have ever lived. My first week in the apartment and there was a leak in the wall. Water running down the wall and door frame and pooling in the carpet kind of leak. It took them 2 weeks to patch and repair the wall where the water was and then another week to put some paint on it. Two months in and my kitchen light was broken so I put in a maintenance request. Several days after that the maintenance guy came and fixed it. I came home to a repaired note and a light that was hanging from the ceiling by the wires. After putting in another request, waiting three weeks, calling several times, and finally stopping in to the office to get it done I have had it with this place. The management is terrible and maintenance requests are a joke apparently. I am currently looking in to an early termination of the apartment lease and getting out of this complex as a whole. DO NOT RENT HERE.**Update**Since I had written this review more good times and perfect examples of why no one should rent from here came up. There was an infestation of Yellow Jackets on my deck and under it. When I brought it to the attention of the management they said, in their usual fashion, that they would take care of it and two long summer weeks with windows closed later they called and said it was taken care of. During this time the yellow jackets were getting in to my apartment. Normally not too big of a deal but I am highly allergic. Even after making this point management still took their sweet time while I was stung in the hand and couldnt write for a week due to swelling. This is the worst place that I have ever lived and I cannot wait until I am out and in my own house. Never rent from these terrible excuses for property managers.

I signed a one year lease because it was affordable and they had availability on short notice- that should have been my first clue. The building stinks, the carpet is stained and the complex overall is dirty. In the middle of winter, our heat stopped working and it took almost a week to fix - mind you, it was below freezing at this time! The leasing office refused to compensate any tenants and upon further online research, this seems to happen EVERY year. I was so unhappy with living there, I luckily found a sublease and got out the minute I could. I would not recommend this place to anyone- ITS HORRIBLE.

Do not move here! This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in! When I first moved in I knew it was a huge mistake. I have a 12 month lease with grays lake apartments and it couldnt be going by any slower. Since Ive been here the office management has changed and hasnt got better . The management is horrible. I had multiple leaks in my ceiling when first management was here and supposably roofers came out to fix this. When the new management came in I had a leak from my kitchen light from my hallway light and from my hallway ceiling and closet I called several time back to back. I left messages and they never returned my call. I walked into there office a week later upset with a bucket of water that was coming from my ceiling so they sent the maintenance man who was sitting in the office with me to my apartment. He told me that roofers would be coming soon. The washers and dryers a constantly breaking . There is mold in the bathroom along the tub line . The heat is uncontrollable. If it gets too hot in your apartment and cannot shut it off with your thermostat it gets extremely hot especially when youre cooking. And by the way if you refer A winter they do not keep their promise by taking it off of your rent their excuse to me was that the girl wrote my name down on the application but didnt write it down on this card that they never told her to write it down on. So they knew I was a reference but didnt own up to it so I would like to call them money hogs and cheap. The person I referral to is having drastic issues and I told her not to move in here and now she is paying the price. They wont remove a hornet nest near her apartment. She has asked several times she has told them about paint peeling back in the hot tub and they still have not fixed it. When she moved in she said that there was a strong cat pee smell . They sent someone to clean it and it is still smelling like cat urine. When I moved in my balcony door does not lock or shut completely. The screen doesnt fit the balcony correctly. The people they send in to clean apartment after people move in are a joke. The hose they have connected to their truck leaks water on the stairs . They have tracked mud on the stairs and hallway floor and left it. On my floor I have seen 4 people move out and all happy to leave because there lease was up. Do not move here . !!! I came here because it is close to my daycare leaps and bound and my work place . It is not worth the short commute at all.

Do not take your business here!! Turned in a $100 deposit to hold down an apartment on a Wednesday and when I went in Monday morning to get the check back since I found better, cleaner apartments (these ones reek!!) they told me that my 72 hours were already up and refused to give me my money back! When I had been in on Wednesday I specifically asked the lady if it was 72 business hours and if Monday would be alright to turn in the application or get my money back she said yes. Sketchy business done here dont bother with this place.

The management is TERRIBLE they dont care about their tenants at all. I called on a tuesday telling them my ac was broken. They came and told me it was fine but my 3rd floor apartment was 85 degrees when the air was set to 60!!! I have an infant child yet it took them until friday at 4pm to come and replace it despite me calling several times!!! They knew I have an infant child they told me they dont consider it an emergency. Funny how tennants rights laws says otherwise. DO NOT LEASE FROM THESE PEOPLE

This is the worst place I have ever lived. Management gossips about tenants to other tenants after entering their units without notice or invite. They will also say you paid half the deposit you actually paid. They are extremely unprofessional and everything in the apartment is cheap and falls apart which they will not fix for weeks and then try to charge you for things that were broken when you moved in. Run from this place do not rent. It is a nightmare. Literally anywhere else in Des Moines has to be better.

I needed to move quick about a year ago with my 4 kids and the manager helped me to get into a unit quickly. I was moved in a week later into a great apartment with a rental special so I pay less than at my last place for a larger space. Any issues I ever bring to the office are dealt with quickly. I havent met a staff member from the office to maintenence that I dont like. The maintenence crew is always working hard to keep the grounds and buildings kept up. Some tenents make extra work for the staff and can be disrespectful of their surroundings by leaving their trash wherever but it is quickly cleaned up.They spray for pests monthly and I havent had any issues here.

Called the office about a week ago about a mouse in our unit and they said theyd come set a trap but they havent shown up. We had to call back after a few days and they said they forgot to put in the work order for the mouse trap. We found a few roachs and they dont answer our calls to be able to help us get rid of them. The hallways smell terrible and the model they show you looks nothing like what you get. The units are trashy, the walls are thin and Im embarrassed to have people over.Update: Luckily back in February after throwing a fit in front of people signing leases, we got them to get pest control in to come and set up bate traps. We had about four months without mice but unfortunately the last two months Ive been joined by the mice again and theyve left more of a mess than ever (pictured). There are more droppings in boxes of handed down family kitchenware and under the sink. Not to mention all the stuff stored on top of the refrigerator that I had to throw away (blender, crockpot, food etc.).On top of that our toilet had a small leak and after maintenance came to fix it, we were left with more than a gallon of water standing on our bathroom floor. Knowing emergency maintenance doesnt answer the phone, I had to go to Walmart at nearly midnight to get towels to clean the mess up. The next day they came and spent probably two hours working on it and it is now being held up with a block of wood (super classy).In another instance, our AC went out during a week of 80-90 degree weather and took days to get a response on when it would be fixed. My roommate and I both experience serious migraines and to have to deal with that heat and not know when we might or might not get AC again was problematic to both of our health.

Didnt even apply to lease. Couldnt get a straight answer on anything from if a unit was available now to how much monthly rent would be, and if I did get an answer for something on the phone I would get the opposite and/or a totally different answer in person. There is also a ridiculous $35 fee just to apply to be able to lease. That doesnt even guarantee that you will be able to lease from them. I wouldnt wish this big of a headache on anybody.

After reading all of the reviews I was pretty shocked at all of the negativity. I will admit that there are some issues but I have found them to be more with other tenants then with the office.when I moved here I was pretty desperate getting out of a very bad home situation and they worked with me for the deposit. they were on the ball and fixed everything I have had issues with usually within 24 hours. there have been a few times when it has taken longer but not with anything that was of major concern usually stuff that was easy and not detrimental to living conditions. an example would be me wanting splash guards they took a few days. however with something serious like a sewer back up - they had someone here within an hour of me reporting it on a Saturday night 930 pm. I couldnt get any one to respond like that at the home I owned.there is an odor that does permeate the building that just cant seem to shake which is why I didnt give it a 5 star rating but the apartments are older so some of that is expected. the bombs in the yard are from tenants that dont take care of their pets like they are supposed to and yes there are fines if you are caught not picking up after them. the complex supplies doggie bags and waste disposal sites all around the property.the rent is reasonable it is not the bottom of the scale but definitely not the high end. the heat is put on when the temperature gets down to a certain point because it is a requirement but they do pay for all heat and cooking gas in the aparments.I have lived in both a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom. the closet space is fantasying in both.I have never heard them talk about other tenants by name or building.dawn

Horrible place. Constantly going through new management staff. They are rude and dont fix anything. Dont return calls. Other tenants are throwing trash and never pick up after there dogs. Massive bug infestation of roaches and spiders. They will charge you as they please on your rent and threaten to evict if you dont pay up. When you move in they try showing you any apt but the one youre getting bc they are falling apart.

To be honest I wanted to rate this place less than a star because the service, neighbors, management and maintenance was horrible.We had a 12 months lease with them and after 6 months of living there we decided to break our lease. The reasons why were that the neighbors to our left and under us called the police and 2 of the 3 times theyve called, they claimed that weve had a party and that it was loud enough to move their furnitures. Really? At those time we had family over for dinner and movies and another time our roommates came home and we were playing monopoly. The office called us and told us to be mindful of our neighbors. We told the office lady that since we work 3rd shift, were normally up at night and that it was unfair for everyone to go about their lives making noises and running around screaming, and running up and down the stairs while were sleeping for work. Explain to me how we could be mindful of our neighbors being that they arent for us. Weve even written a letter and posted it on their doors telling them everything that Ive written above. Other than the neighbors, the management sucks because there was a time that our roommates boyfriend came over and that night when he stayed, his car was broken into. We went to the office and asked if we could look over the camera that we said they had and to make it better they said we cant because the cameras they have dont point towards the parking lot. Theyre only pointed at the apt building entrance.They said they couldnt do anything because he wasnt on our lease. So basically you can go there, break into any car and you wouldnt even be caught. After breaking our lease early we were told to pay 2 months worth of rent (i understand that wed have to pay for a months rent but i didnt understand why we had to pay for another months rent when we wouldnt be staying there.) which by the way was $1,880. After paying it all off we were suppose to get half of our deposit back but it turned out we didnt because after leaving, the management charged us for throwing away the things we left behind which was a small mattress and 2 night stands but they charged us $100 a piece and $25 dollars per bag which was 13 bags. Anyways, overall were expected to pay another $950 for all their hard work. Ill have to say, this place is over charging their residence for their own mistakes and they are cheap and money hungry. To future residence, DONT LIVE THERE! To the people who already live there, good luck with everything.

I have been here a few months and love it the apartment is beautiful, clean and spacious the people in the office are very nice and understanding i have needed a few repairs and they have a repair man come in with in a day they also have ladies come in to clean the hallways and windows of the complex very nice neighbors and very quiet neighborhood and the apartment complex is near everything.

The walls are thin and the hallways frequently smelled like pet waste or garbage. Upstairs neighbors were very noisy...it sounded like they were dropping bowling balls on the ground, and they had a toddler crying at all hours of the night. You could practically hear others conversations word for word through the ceilings and walls. The toilet was installed crooked, the paint at the bottom of the tub cracked and peeled, our garbage disposal stopped working month 2 of our 12 month lease, they had to enter our apartment once or twice a month for various pest checks and things which felt excessive and intrusive, we had a terrible gnat problem in the summer--there were bugs in the fridge, freezer, microwave, sink, etc. Our front door didnt latch, and the patio door came off of the frame several times. The management was nice enough and the pool is wonderful, but the property itself was not well taken care of, nor was the parking lot. I stayed with my boyfriend 80% of the time because it was simply a better place to be.You can get a loft downtown for around the same prices as these apartments, and now that I live in one, I regret the decision to spend my money and time at this complex.

They will misguide you by sending notices regarding rent due and other stuff and charge you for everything.

Lived there for three years, during that time it went from an ok place to live to one in which I could not in good conscience recommend anyone staying there.There is absolutely no control over the children in that complex, they run everywhere, in parking lots in apartment buildings, on top of the garage and dumpsters. They cuss, scream, and are rude and disrespectful.They will go into the laundry facilities and open the doors to the dryers mid cycle, and at 1.75 a pop it gets expensive. So your best bet is to pull up a chair and wait.The washers were malfunctioning more often than not. There were several times where we saw dirty diapers stashed behind the washers. The managerial staff was told about all of this more times than I can count by me, and I am certain they were told numerous times by others as well.I would say that at a minimum 80% of the residents have absolutely nor respect for themselves or others.The parking in many areas is atrocious, and you truly have to walk to your car at your own risk as there is no control over speeds except a couple of speed bumps near the office. I had to have several come to Jesus talks with people who almost ran over my wife and our dog as well as many of the children who run rampant. One guy had to slam on his brakes so hard he screeched the tires while trying to park.There was at least one business being run out of our apartment complex where the guy had upwards of 20-30 customers a day parking and blocking traffic.The walls and floors are so ill insulated that if your upstairs neighbor drops a pin it sounds like a bowling ball, and if your as unlucky as us to have an upstairs neighbor with 4+ children you will never get any peace.There is a constant stream of garbage pickers in and around the dumpsters at all hours of the night, eviction day is like a smorgasbord for them.There were more than a couple nefarious deeds that were happening and it wasnt until the last few months we lived there that a tell tale presence of security was seen and even then it seemed sporadic.The pool was a joke, adults had maybe a five minute window around dinner time to use the pool without it being filled to capacity with largely unsupervised children. One of our neighbors told is she would not use the pool because she saw a soiled diaper in it, I did not see this first hand so I cannot attest.The general population of the place is slovenly, they spill garbage in the parking lot and dont bother to pick it up, they dont pick up after their dogs.Maintenance was a crapshoot, a couple of the guys were really good and cared while others...not so much.The day we were moving out the kitchen sink backed up, apparently there was a crushed pipe. We were told not to use the sink, (not a problem we were moving anyway) as were the people above us.We came back two days later to get the rest of our stuff and the apartments above us had used their sinks resulting in our first floor apartment having a half inch of water on the kitchen floor, into the dining area, and into the hall. This was dirty, greasy stank water. Luckily we didnt have anything of great value still there.After we move, we were under the assumption that any cleaning that would need to take place would be covered by the owners as the majority of the mess was caused by negligence of others. Big joke.Not only were we charged an extra 340 dollars for leaving a basically uninhabitable apartment a week early, we were charged 140 dollars for cleaning, so out of the 670 dollars of deposit we gave them we left with less than 250 dollars. Better than most who we have heard left with nothing and still had to pay.This place is not worth the money or trouble. A couple we knew who we (regrettably) recommended to stay there found another place for the same price which is much cleaner and safer.So basically unless you want to have a first hand experience of what its like to live in the projects or have pets and can find no other place that will take you, avoid this place, if for nothing else your own sanity.

This was the worst place I have ever lived. We had roaches for about three months and the landlords did nothing to solve our problem. We ended up buying our own sprays and traps to get rid of them. The floors are very thin you can hear every step the people above you take. The landlords are rude and inconsiderate while working from home the handyman was doing work in the apartment above us from 7:30 am - 9:00 pm when we went to complain about the extremely loud noise he was making, we could hear the words to his music, we were told we shouldnt be working from home. Talk about rude and loud. Oh and half the time the fitness center has a broken machine that doesnt get fixed for weeks so dont plan on using that.

We stayed in our ground level apartment for 18 months, and I actually really enjoyed it. We had one maintenance issue where the plumbing backed up, but they responded immediately following my call to their 24 hour emergency number.The place was very clean and smelt nice moving in. The gym sucks, but I wasnt concerned about it. There was a gym at hyvee 1 mile away for $10 /mo, and there was a huge park across the street with a track and a steep hill to go get some cardio. People play basketball, football, and soccer up there all the time too. Plus its close to grays lake, great location.Really, the only thing that sucked about this place was that since this is a pet friendly apartment complex, there was a disgusting amount of landmines in the grass. Oh, and our washing machines were broken all the time, and the provider they used wouldnt come to fix it for weeks.

Love the apartments nice and big

Their emergency maintenance dont respond to emergencies, fire doors are proped open or are broken. No concern for safety whatsoever or care of tenants

I been here for two weeks. And I love them so far! There pretty quiet even at night, the neighbors are nice, the office people are nice. They vacuum the halls, the halls smell but oh well I dont have A problem with that. Lol the apartment it self its really nice. Havent seen any bugs, once again Im super clean person. Lol I dont see anything wrong at this place, and no I dont work here. Lol

TERRIBLE! DO NOT RENT HERE! Current resident here and they always turn off the water with no warning.. One day I was in the middle of cooking supper and dealing with hot chiles and i had to sit with my hands burning for almost 20 minutes for someone to come up with a jug of water so I could wash my hands! Hallways ALWAYS smell disgusting! All pets are allowed and no one seems to care when their pets urinate/defecate all over the halls. The hallways smell of fecal matter and dried urine. Pets defacate right out side the apartment buildings too! Its disgusting and you will lose your apeptite every time you walk inside the apartment. I was embarassed to bring people in since it smelled so terrible. So many little things wrongs with the apartment, I know maintence does their best, and they seem like really nice guys. My closet is always broken, and it never seems to shut right. Its always freezing in my apartment, and reeks of marijuana. When I wake up to go workout in the morning, there is always tweakers awake sitting in the parking lot in their cars. There was one occassion when there was dried throw up in the hallway for almost a month! Walls are paper thin, and you will constantly hear neighbors just talking. I could hear someone cough below me. I could go on and on about this apartment. It was the worst decision I ever made signing the lease here. I am so glad I am getting a sublease! only stayed 4/12 months because I cant stand it here!!!

Pet waste everywhere, unreliable & uncontrollable steam heating, no hot water on Sundays for some reason, loud parties on the weekends, and a series of horrible upstairs neighbors culminating in the tweakers living above us right now who stomp and yell until 5 AM every night. EVERY. NIGHT.The issues above were a heavy burden to bear in exchange for a short commute into downtown. I would suggest that the young professional crowd look elsewhere.

Managers and workers there are seriously theeeeee worst .. Took them 3 damn weeks to send me documents I asked for 4 different times .. Then charged me stuff that I shouldnt have been charged. Dont even deserve a star tbh

Hated living here-was desperate when I signed lease. Will threaten to evict if someone complains about noise. Watch out! The least they could have done is give us a call and say, hey, someone called pleas dont let it happen again, thanks.

Awful place to live. Dont expect to get your security deposit back when you leave. I was sent a bill after I moved out for charges that they would not explain.

Bad management, price increases, no open parking lot, dog poop everywhere, throw up an piss in stank hallways, no air circulation and very hot rooms in summer an even hotter in winter with no control over the heat system better off homeless.

I love this place, the people in the office all time was respectful and nice, silvia, the manager, The maintenance grup. All place have a little problems with building but this is the wonderful place for live. And smell depend on each people in your particular aparment. I recommended 100% this place. All the places have little problems with the buildings but it is a wonderful place to live. And it smells depending on each person in your apartment.
