I came to Community Auto Repair(CAR) because a dealer gave me a ridiculous ($12,000) repair estimate. However, I had just bought the car via an internet car broker. I had been sold a 2012 lemon of a car for $33,500! That broker promised he’d make it right and sent me to another mechanic that he’d found…Community Auto Repair. He wanted them to switch out parts from another car and put into mine. Lucky me, Angel Alyssa was on the case. Alyssa gave me the analysis on the car and it was likely a flood car. Likely not reported, so the title was clean. She told the broker he needed to make it right. The broker then told me he’d found ANOTHER mechanic. I informed Alyssa what he said and she was not happy. Next thing I know, I was fully refunded! I don’t know WHAT she said to him, but I got ALL my money back into my bank account.Since I returned the lemon, Community Auto Repair fixed my bucket enough for it to run until I get my next car.Community Auto Repair dealt with the lemon car and my car honestly from start to finish. I am forever grateful to Alyssa and CAR.

I was recommended to community auto by a friend who is a mechanic. They lived up to their reputation and more. As Ken said they are overly communicative and didn’t do any work without talking to me first. Alyssa helped me schedule in advance, since they are so busy and rightfully so. Alyssa and Jade are very warm and personable, I loved seeing strong women holding down the front desk. I went in with many concerns and I drove away with a feeling of relief. They got the work done quickly considering. Feelings like my truck is in good hands at community.

In love with your old car?I have been coming here for 7+ years now, never had an issue, also never left a review. These guys quoted me very fairly for head gaskets in my 97 GT Legacy wagon when everyone else wanted 4k or more, or told me to junk it. CAR wrapped my Subi up a few weeks back and I just drove her to Chicago and back. The problem was that the car clearly wanted to go faster, it runs super well. Thanks guys! Felt good to cruise down Lake Shore Drive!

I went a couple years ago for my 2002 Subaru Forester, they diagnosed for free and told my right off bat she wasnt worth the fix and to sell it. I am glad I did that, I will definitely bring both my 2016 Chrysler and 2014 Dodge here in the future. I do need my truck looked at for an estimate for multiple O2 sensors and oil change on my car... Thank you guys so much!! I forgot what the business name was but now that I have found you guys again, your my GO TO!!!!

There is no reason to go to another mechanic. Ken , Alyssa and company have been taking care of mine and my husbands cars for years. They are honest, reasonable, reliable, kind..... I could go on forever. We just had some major work done on our mini and a week later there were issues not even related to the work they did and they gave us such a deal on the new repair!!! Finding mechanic you can trust is huge. This is the place to go. I only hope I die before Ken decides to retire.

I cant say enough about how great my experience was with Community Auto (CA). My vehicle was in an accident near there and required towing so I chose them due to proximity and ratings, and Im glad I did! The car was accidentally dropped in parking spots for the flooring company next door. CA moved my car into their yard and parked it while I waited for insurance to perform an inspection. Alyssa at the front desk was awesome and handled my daily calls and updates with friendliness and professionalism. The car wasnt worth a lot so CA gave me options on the damage that would help stay within my budget. Needless to say, I highly recommend them and will be back.

I’ve been to this place a few times over the years. They’re always friendly. However, I haven’t been since pandemic....which we are still in regardless of vaccines. So many staff, 90% of them, do not wear face coverings inside. This makes me so frustrated. I understand not wearing one while working outside/garage on the cars. However, IDK who has or hasn’t been vaxxed here. Thanks for the disrespect for life. Oh good, and customers are allowed to walk in unmasked as well. Probably give customers a safe place to sit away from antimaskers.

I took my 88 Bronco there to get a quote for a engine and a new steering column. Alyssa told me it would be a week to get the quote back, which i was ok with. after a week i called and she told me still havent gotten a pricing and the technician needed to look at it to get an idea of cost. I was still ok with it and wasnt in a rush. Couple more weeks pass and Alyssa said she found the steering column and that she would get cost for that and the motor at the same time, so i was good with it. i called a week later and still no quote and at this time i was getting frustrated, but it had been there a month now. I had to leave out of town for work so i called the next week to see if she was able to get me a quote, which Alyssa stated we installed the steering column and you owe us $1000 and that they looked at the motor and spark plug wire was crossed but it was running good now. WOW, i said i have been waiting for a quote not to get it fixed, however i will pay for the steering column. I HAD MY WIFE PICK UP MY TRUCK AND WHEN I WAS ABLE TO ACTUALLY DRIVE MY TRUCK I NOTICED THAT THE SUBWOOFER AND AMPLIFIER SYSTEM WAS STOLEN WHILE IT WAS AT THEIR SHOP AND THEY WILL NOT COVER IT.I DONT LIKE TO POST BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS ARE HORRIBLE. Excellent service for three years running. They repair items I’m asking to fix and leave suggestions for future items and aren’t pushy to get those done in the moment. They don’t find ghosts! I’d recently been skeptical of an issue they had found but once I got there they had saved the parts to show me in person and, they were very correct. The parts they wanted to replace were trash and likely would have caused a much larger issue in the near future. If they tell you it’s an issue, it’s an issue.I purchased my snow tires through them and they store my off season tires at the shop. No storage cost so that’s a massive plus! They are quick to answer the phone and get me on the schedule. Always very welcoming to me when I enter the shop and I always leave feeling good about the work.

Ive been coming here for a couple years, I really liked their service until recently. While getting brake pad estimate, another shop noticed three of my cars wheel studs were threaded ($150 Repair cost). Last shop to put tires on was Community Auto Repair. As one of the studs snapped off because it was lodged on, I had the three replaced at the estimate place rather than driving to Community Auto Repair.Today I brought in the studs to Community Auto Repair for them to take a look at. The owner (Ken) first off stated that he believes in his employees 100%. I told him I understand, but mistakes happen (must not happen here according to the owner).Rather than the owner suggesting to pull a lug nut off and compare the thread length and the point to where it was threaded, he repeatedly said the nut tightens down to the very end and therefore it wasnt his guys. I suggested it to him, but he wouldnt bite on that suggestion. After 5 minutes of discussion, he wasnt budging on a mutual resolution. If he would’ve offered to compensate the parts cost only (~$60), it would’ve been acceptable as I did use another shop’s labor.Long story short, dont come here if you want integrity and honest customer service. The customer is wrong in their mind.

Community Auto is a great and honest shop. They always do great work, and their prices seem very fair. I am always pleased with the work they do. I am giving four stars because this time around a few minor things were neglected. One, after replacing all four tires (at my request) they did not put the rear wheel’s hub cap back on despite my having asked them to do so. I also asked if they could take a look at my car jack, but there was no evidence that this had been done, and it was not addressed when I picked up my car. Finally, the past few times my truck has been in the shop, their timeliness has not been great. I always make appointments well ahead of time, and it seems like I am always rushing to have to pick it up as they finish right at close even though I always drop it right when they open. I know I could have asked for both of these to get resolved, however I picked my truck up at 6 right as they were closing. Again, they are a great shop. I have taken my vehicles there for years and will continue to do so in the future.

I totally trust and depend upon Community Auto Repair for ALL my auto needs. My family was getting ready for a road trip, and I brought my car in both for a maintenance check up, and to make sure everything was safe before we got on the road. Community Auto Repair made sure my car was good to go, tuning up the engine, balancing my tires, and repairing my rear bumper, which had gotten loose. They also buffed out a few scratches while they are were at it, and I love that they have a body shop along with auto mechanics.Alyssa, at the front desk, is always so friendly and efficient! You can count on her to get you checked in quickly, and also to call and confirm any costs before moving forward. Finally, the icing on the cake is that I get a loaner car to use while my car is in the shop, that way my life can go on as normal even while getting needed maintenance done.If you can’t already tell, I love this business! Like having a good doctor or dentist, you also have to have a good mechanic, and I feel like we have found ours 🙏🏽❤️

The owner may appear calm and cool, customer-facing, but if unreliable and has vehicles either coming back for repeat repairs or just leaves the cars in the lot. When a technician says a car is unfixable or takes weeks to complete simple repairs you tend to stay far away from such an establishment. Shamefully, this is just that sort of establishment.

BEWARE OF UPSELL!I have been using this shop for over 2 years, spending over $7K with them. I took my truck in because it wouldnt start and it was more than a battery issue, likely an alternator issue. They diagnosed the issue and quoted me to replace the alternator $700+, replace the battery $150, then they tried to sell me an oil change even though I had just changed my oil weeks prior, and then they wanted to replace my serpentine belt for another $200+ (which they had replaced only a year ago). This was the last straw for me, I bought an alternator and battery from Autozone and replaced both in a matter of minutes for less than $300. The last time I left it with them they said I had 10% life left in my brakes. I just checked them 5000mi later and still have 50% life left. They have done all sorts of work for me and it has been done in a timely but very expensive manner. I caution you to be weary of their upsell tactics and not buy everything they try to sell you. They made several thousand more dollars off me than an honest shop wouldve because I was ignorant and just said fix what they suggested needed to be fixed. I recommend you get a second opinion before you let them charge you unnecessary hours and replace unnecessary parts. Bottom line I will no longer be trading with community auto repair.

I have used community auto since 2013. Ken was a really nice and honest guy. Last week my car broke down with a bad alternator. As usual I had the car towed to community auto in the new location (they used to be on Kentucky Ave). Im not sure there is a ownership change, but this time a guy called Alex handled my case, and quoted me $1000 between the alternator and a new battery. When I told him my battery was only one year old, he said when alternators go, it messes up the battery too. He went on to tell me I need new brakes because the front are almost metal to metal, and the rear has 5% left. This gave me pause because during my recent check up at another mechanical shop, they said the brakes have 15%-20% left. I went on to get a quote somewhere else, and got the repair done for $600, without having to replace the battery. Be an honest person, and make the money that you ought to make. Is it this difficult in the world of car repairs? Im never going back to community auto again.

They gave me a quote of $750. I took my car down the road to brakes plus to get a second opinion and they told me that my front brakes were actually fine and only at 50% and that all I needed was the back brakes taken care of. Only wound up paying $400. Will not be returning to community auto repair anytime soon.

Im not sure if this place is good or not. Giving three stars to give them the benefit of the doubt. Heres why:My car wasnt starting, so I took it in to this place. They said it had suffered a catastrophic engine failure and I either needed a new engine or a new car. This just about broke my heart as I love my car and am not in the financial place to be able to buy a new one OR replace an engine, which would not make sense anyway on my older car.I decided to try one more time to get it fixed and took it to a place that previously was able to fix an issue my usual (awesome but really far away) mechanics had never seen before. They were able to charge the battery, change the spark plugs, and get me back on the road. Those mechanics said its still possible that theres an underlying issue since they could not find a smoking gun for what caused the issue in the first place. This is why Im giving this mechanic three stars instead of one.I give them three stars, though, because my car was capable of being fixed and they either did not have the knowledge to fix it, decided not to put in the time to learn enough about the issue to fix it, or noticed that I am not knowledgeable about cars and tried to scam me.They dont seem like they were trying to scam me from what I can read, but without being a car person its hard to know. Here are some details that Ill put here for you to consider and make the call for yourself about whether you want to trust these folks:The mechanic that fixed my car specializes in my type of vehicle and has crazy in-depth knowledge about each model year. This mechanic does not specialize in my type of vehicle, a foreign car.The mechanic that fixed my car spent several days testing different fixes and researching model year issues. This mechanic spent less than a day. I did opt to wait for the verdict on what the fix was, thinking it would be a starter issue (it wasnt that) and they may have felt pressured by me waiting? I dont know? I was not trying to pressure them and think I told them to take their time once or twice.I hope this helps someone vet this mechanic. Its my earnest hope that this was a weird issue that required an expert in one type of vehicle to even recognize.

After spending over $1500 at their garage having work done on the car, they said I needed a new battery, so they put it in. Two days later the car is completely dead, I have to have it towed to their shop and leave it for a couple days. Oh, the problem is the starter, another $500. Less than a month later the battery light comes on, I call and they say, drop it off all day and well look at it. A competent mechanic should be able to diagnose the issue in about three minutes. There is absolutely no customer respect or consideration for the customers needs. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Went here because they had good reviews on Yelp, but wont be coming back. I came in for an oil change and a flat tire. I left my car and asked them to call me with an estimate on the work before they started. They called and quoted me $980 and said that I would need all 4 tires replaced and that theyd throw in the oil change. This was odd because I had just purchased the car 6 months ago with practically brand new tires, and had another flat a few months back that was able to be replaced individually. I told them that I didnt want them to proceed and that Id just pick up the car. When I got there they had already done the oil change, despite me telling them not to do any work on the car. I ended up paying for the oil change, which was really frustrating because it was done against my will. They also had left parts scattered on the passenger side from when they decided to check my air filter, so I had to return and get them to put everything back. I later went to a big box tire retailer and the mechanics there said my tires were in great shape and werent due for a replacement. They ordered the brand of tire I needed to match the existing ones, gave me a warranty on all 4 tires, (even the ones that I didnt purchase from them) and replaced the flat all for less than a third of what I was supposed to pay Community Auto. Ive never left a review before but this was maybe the worst customer service Ive experienced.

I didnt hear from them until Tuesday afternoon, granted I didnt have a reservation but an oil change and diagnostics doesnt take that long. The worst part is what they tried to proceed to charge me. I had a feeling the check engine light was due to a bad mass air flow sensor and just wanted them to check it out. They said that the sensor was potentially the cause, but wanted to charge $325 to change it. I went to autozone, got one for $135. When I went to pick up my car I changed it out in 5 minutes, and went to tell them that it fixed the light. The guy at the front desk proceeded to ask me if I drove a 100 miles yet, such an unnecessary comment. Will never go back.

Just had a very sketchy experience with Alyssa at Community Auto Repair. I dont know what to think of it, other than to not trust this place anymore. I know they have a good reputation online, thats why I chose to take my Jeep there to diagnose a problem its been having.I took it in for a starting and stalling problem. Its been stalling unexpectedly at traffic lights, when its idling somewhere. It has/had a starting problem only in VERY cold weather ( single digit/under 30 degree temps).Four hours later, Alyssa called and said my starter is out and they need $450 to put in a new starter before they can diagnose what else is going on with the Jeep. I was shocked, and concerned. She said it wasnt turning over. She said the first time they had to try their tricks to get the starter to work, but the second time the tricks didnt even work to get it started. Whatever that means...So I asked for a breakdown on parts and labor. I was doubtful with that first bit of information but willing to consider still. But then she completely lost my trust. She said she didnt know the breakdown until it was put in the system. I asked if I could talk to someone who put this info into the system/who knew the costs for parts and labor. Reasonable request I think. She did not reply to this. She would only repeat that $450 was the cost to get it working again so they could look at the rest of my problem.Whoever heard of such a thing...cant give me a breakdown on price? Cant tell me the cost of parts and labor? Who does that other than a sketchy operation? I understand if she didnt know in that moment. I would understand if she had to go talk to someone and get back to me. But to offer no additional information, to not even answer my request, and expect me to ok $450 of work with no understanding of what I was paying for, thats just bad business. So I called AAA and had them tow my Jeep back home. I tried to start it myself and it wont turn over now. Of all its problems, this was NEVER one of them. My starting problem was it would crank like it wanted to start but not connect...and again, only in the VERY cold weather. I never had this problem until it sat at Community Auto Repair today. Its unfortunate. I needed a new garage. I read good stuff about them.Perhaps it was just a communication issue with Alyssa. Maybe she needs some pointers on how to gain the trust of new customers. But whatever at this point. Its in worse shape than this morning. Not only did they lose me, but I also hope I have convinced other after me to keep looking if you are think about taking your vehicle to them.

My car died and I had no towing on my insurance. I called Community Auto and they hooked me up with a towing company, picked up my car, and had my alternator and spark plugs replaced within 5 hours. I truly appreciate their kindness, customer service, and quality repair work. Thank you!

After a belt replacement I received my car with an airbag signal on my dash board. They had no liability and told me it was there before and not their problem. Make sure to picture your car before leaving it at that repair shop and/or take a written note describing existing issues.

I’ve taken my old car and current truck around Denver looking for a LTR with a mechanic (I still can’t say “technician” or “tech” without cringing; sounds like a part-swapper with a manual & scanner). My experience with the old Kentucky location was that the mechanics could get me on the road quickly and safely, with an occasional upsell in the front office. When I had transmission problems, I took it to a dealer, then Community Auto Repair. The dealer was accurate but expensive and distant; CAR was less expensive, local, offered a loaner car, would rebuild it themselves, and offered a 3 year warranty like the dealer, but they were covering their own work, not a 3rd party rebuild. If you need a part cheap, go to the parts store. If you need a mechanic, I highly recommend Community Auto Repair.

The mechanics here just want to help you out, unlike a lot of places Ive been to recently. They give fair prices and especially for the labor. Almost every time I go Im surprised at how much lower the cost is than I expected, especially for such quality work. Their diagnostic team obviously takes the time to survey most everything about your car, instead of just checking what youve mentioned. Every time I leave this place, my car does so well for so long, I never take it anywhere else. I love their honesty, over EVERYTHING.

Ive been taking my cars to Ken for years. These guys do great work, are fair, honest, and cheap. Its become harder to schedule over time but thats due to the fact that theyre really good at their job, and have therefore become pretty popular. A good, honest mechanic is hard to find. I feel luck to have these guys in my corner.

I’ve been here a number of times in the past since 2014, and I can say that this is my go-to place if I have car trouble or need a check up. When I had to take a road trip in 2016, they were honest about things I needed and didn’t unnecessarily charge me for things. When I had a problem with my car air conditioning this year, they took care of it for significantly less than what the dealership quoted me. They were even able to accommodate me on a busy schedule when I needed a short notice fix for a screeching noise my car made when driving. My experience with these guys has been awesome, and I will definitely continue coming back here.

These guys rock!!! I ended up on their doorstep after 18 years of owning my car. They were nothing but nice. They lent me a car, and fixed my axles, and so nice on top of it (Toyota Camry V6, 1997). I wish I would have come here sooner. Alex looked over my old invoice...very pricey he said. That was years ago.Just stopped by today for a check engine light. 4-23-2018.They said it was my oxygen sensor, and cancelled the CHECK ENGINE. (no charge). I will know soon... as my car is 20 years old. He told me to call him when the light goes back on..if it does. He said he will visually inspect my timing belt on my next oil change. Wow. Stopped to talk to me, and even came around the corner. These people at Community Auto Repair are honest!!!I am currently at 164,678 miles. If you have a bad problem with the help here you need to rethink things.Thank you to Community Auto Repair.

I’m extremely skeptical of mechanics and haven’t had great experiences in the past, but the people at this place won me over quickly by being transparent about their services and by making every interaction non-transactional - consistently! They genuinely want to help you and are just like good neighbors. I had just driven my car across the country and needed to prepare it for an emissions test to get it registered in CO. I only had to make one trip to the shop, they were willing to do only what was needed to get it to pass, and while they were working, they gratuitously re-adhered a fender which I’d been meaning to have done for over a year (but which I was told from another source that it’d be very expensive to fix). My car is now registered AND looks brand new!! Needless to say, I’m using the money saved from fixing the fender to pay for all of the second-tier priority work that they identified at Community Auto. Extremely professional, amazing service and just really high quality people. Thank you guys!!

Community Auto repair has been a great experience for me. They evaluated my vehicles and shared with me their honest opinion of what was a priority and what could wait. They have technicians that could work on my BMW’s and have guarantees on parts longer than that of the dealership. They completed their repairs when promised and guarantee the workmanship as well. If it’s not right, the’ll make it right.

I was in Community Auto Repair over a year ago to get my rear struts replaced. A year later, they needed to be replaced again. As I was no longer anywhere near the Denver area, I was frustrated that Id have to pay for the costly repair again. I got in touch with the shop, and Alex responded quickly and helped direct me to a national program for the warranty, and I was able to get the work done again at no cost. Many thanks!

Used to be great, seems to have gone downhill a bit. Was put on hold and no one ever came back and answered, maybe just out to lunch.Probably better for older beater cars like mine. If you have a nicer, newer car or are just super particular about it, this might not be your place. That said, theyve always done a good job on my old car.

We can literally not say enough wonderful things about Community Auto. They are the most honest, trustworthy, friendly people we have ever come across in the auto service industry.....ever. The way they run their business... it is no wonder why they are solid booked for weeks out. They have honest and fair prices. They are so efficient and quick. We are from out of town and needed some work done on our truck. We called up there and Liv at the front desk is so helpful and friendly. She was able to find a time to make it work for us while we were in town. (AMAZING) and then she was even able to loan out a rental car. Yes, this place has rental cars. Incredible! The service on our truck was done in short order and done right! We were so amazed at the level of professionalism and service that Community Auto brought to the table. This place is a gem... a rare find for such honest and reliable auto service... It is hard to find this level of service in any industry nowadays, unfortunately. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

The reason I chose Community Auto Repair is because their prices are very good. They replaced my steering rack and of course my car needed an alignment afterwards. I would NOT recommend paying for their alignment and having it done at an actual alignment shop. They do not use the state of the art laser alignment machines but still charge almost as much to perform the service. $50 at Community Auto Repair and $67 at Brakes Plus. After they performed the service and said the car was aligned, I drove it home only to find the steering wheel was off center and it was pulling to one side. I tried to ask for my money back on the alignment so I could have it done at an alignment shop, but they said that was not possible. I had to have them adjust it, which of course meant bringing it back in again, and even then there was no certainty the tires would actually be aligned correctly. In order to insure I didnt destroy my almost new $1000 set of tires, I still had to pay another $70 to get my tires aligned properly... almost negating my cost savings, not to mention time wasted.

We have been going to Community Auto Repair since we moved into the neighborhood 5 years ago. Once again they have proven themselves to be customer service first. When quoting the work to me today, there was a misunderstanding (one could easily argue the cause was on my end), when I brought up that I didnt want that work done (oil change) they took off the cost. Above and beyond customer service and honest as the day is long.Cant recommend them enough!!!!
