Cancelled our policy as well for significant rate increases as well as poor service. Saving $250.00 a month by switching carriers with better coverage. They used to be such a great company and have gone downhill fast in the last year. Sad.
Costco Insurance Connect by AM fam American Family Insurance. Took Month to get auto insurance They started my policy a month before. Call and get them to adjust your policy to current date. Quoted me $250 for hook 🎣 Real price was $350
Rear ended by someone insured with Ameriprise and you can probably guess where this is going.Received the bare minimum support, called them many times without call back, got me a rental while my car was in the shop for 3 weeks, but it was the worst car I have ever driven and had to take an Uber (out of my pocket) a half hour away to get it, which was an awesome waste of my time on a business day. With all that said, they did pay for my repair so I guess it could be worse. Overall they deserve 1 star for doing the minimum
If possible - Id give them zero stars or less than zero - because that is what they deserve. I have had the most horrifying experience with them. I had inquired about changing the status of the vehicle. They said that such a change would not be possible. We didnt make the change. Still they insisted on a ridiculous and humiliating notarized paper saying that we wouldnt ever use the vehicle for that purpose. We did send the paper. We didnt use the vehicle for that purpose, and then they JUST sent me a letter informing us that our car insurance policy would expire because we were using it for the purposes that made it ineligible. I was on the phone for hours with a person who made me feel like a criminal - even though WE DID NOT MAKE THE CHANGE AND USE THAT CAR FOR INELIGIBLE PURPOSES. EVER. This business is the worst. The worst. We will be switching our home and auto to Allstate.
I have had Ameriprise for years. I have unfortunately had 2 claims (one auto and one home) during my time with them. Both claims were handled promptly and professionally. For my home claim, the adjuster was here within minutes- which is probably because I live about 5 minutes away from their office. Both claims were very upsetting to me and they were great at reassuring me that I would be taken care of- and I was. Rental car coverage is not the best, so my husband opted not to add it onto his car. Only 4 stars due to premiums constantly increasing, but overall I have been very satisfied with my experiences here and continue to recommend them to my friends and family.
Their policy holder hit my Tesla car! Willie Michael is assigned as my claim rep. I left him four messages but he never bothered to return my calls! I finally caught him and experienced he is extremely impolite, tempered, and unprofessional! He didn’t even let me talk or listen me but keep on arguing on my request to provide me a rental car! My car is hit badly in back and left side got everything broken. It doesn’t keep good balance while driving but Willie doesn’t want to listen it! He argued and refuse to give me a rental car and said that car is drivable!!! Really, like he drove my car!This company is pretty worst and they are there just to make money rather than help!There are many good auto insurance company out there who provides the best help.
I called to get home insurance on a new home I just purchased. After 32 minutes on the phone describing in inane detail the new house to Priscilla, we get to the point of processing and theres a hold, and she comes back to say they cannot insure me on the new home or my existing one any longer because since their company was acquired from American Family, they dont honor those of use who were originally affiliated with Ford Motor Company policies. So not only do I not get what I called for, but they put my current policy on a 30 day notice to cancellation. Called back the next day to verify what had been mentioned the day before. This lady was just as rude and flippant. You know what, forget your company. I will take my business elsewhere.
We’ve been with Ameriprise/Costco insurance for 20 years with one claim 9 years ago. They raised our deductible from $1,000 to $6,000 on our homeowners policy and they don’t have any other options. Do NOT get your insurance here. They used to be a good company to deal with. Canceling our policy immediately.

This is our insurance carrier. We were very pleased when our car was totaled by a DUI driver. We had full coverage so they paid our claim before they recouped from the other drivers carrier. So far so good. Really good rates being a Costco Member
Very disappointing experience with Ameriprise coverage and service. An example is a damaged windshield on a Range Rover 2016 has a maximum coverage of $60. The cost to replace is $1700. I wonder about the value of a $1300 per year full comprehensive coverage. I recommend to get insurance from a reputable company for honest service.
We had a WONDERFUL experience with them after our home was hit by hail a few years ago. They were fantastic and generous. Amazing service. Highly recommend them to everyone we know.
1.0 star rating 11/1/2016I wanted to share my experience thus far with this company. I strongly advice to stay away from them! I am not a customer nor will I ever be (Thank God). I was rear ended by an Ameriprise insured. They first wanted to take shortcuts in repairing my car by using used parts, they also wanted to put me in a compact rental (I have a full size car). Now I am trying to get a fair settlement for diminished value. They are trying to downplay my claim and drag it out as long as possible. Instead of substantiating their settlements with comparable and/or inspection, they are using some formula to arrive to a very low figure. Not sure how Costco is allowing this company drag their brand down along with them. BTW, I am now having to seek a resolution via BBB, Insurance Commission and small claims court.
Very unhappy with them. Ive been with the Costco Ameriprise program for at least 4 yrs and in the last 2 years theyve increased my premium twice, no accidents and now that i had 1 they are giving me a car not even comparable to what I had. Unacceptable!
I will give less than one star if it was available. I have been with this insurance company for close to 10 years. I am Costco executive member. I have always paid my bill on time. Never late payments. I was very disappointed when my auto policy was canceled because their own fault. I found out only when I called to check if they had receive my payment. I have a bundle insurance, they took home insurance payment on July 20 but didnt take the auto payment due on August 1. Say this was my fault but how can you cancel my policy for one late payment when for close to ten years I have always paid you on time every time???? Even cops look at someone records to decide but an insurance company???? Even Life insurance company will reinstate a policy when all payments are made. The customer service are mostly rude and incentives.! I need help how can I file a complaint against this mafia insurance?
I am an Executive Member of Costco. Each trip I make to Costco the entrance is littered with posters about the auto insurance savings for members. I have a second vehicle, a 17 year old truck for yard work. In considering auto insurance, the bed of the truck has a dent. After 30 minutes waiting on hold, my non-critical non-function effecting side panel dent makes my truck uninsurable through Ameriprise Financial.Jokes on you Ameriprise Financial, I guess my 11 other cars and 28 homes will also be off your radar. The agent on the phone was so patronizing looks like you need a body shop visit before we can offer any coverage. Poor customer service from the gate. I asked for a manager, she agreed with the caveat, my manager will always say the same thing. The manager was more empathetic than patronizing but blamed years long relationships with underwriters.Ameriprise Financial has extremely poor customer care. I am surprised that Costco would rely on them for anything!
I have had this insurance for years...always helpful and easy to work with ...had a sideswipe and a complete repair. I had to do an alignment a couple of years later and found the frame was not straight...they paid for complete fix of that, new paint! No issues at all with them
Bad service. They had me go through inspection and fixing bunch of items around the house that were not even required per local building codes just to tell me later they did not insure secondary homes. Had me call them more than 3 times and spend hours to answer the same questions to a different representative as they never had the information in their system to begin with. Stay away from this company the only good thing about them are their rates! One of the few bad choices from COSTCO to add to their offerings.
I have been an Ameriprise customer for over 10 years. And have had 3 claims in that time. The first 2 were very easy and the outcome was very fair. But the recent claim was anything but easy. When I had to have a rental car they promised coverage for entire time up to the limits of my policy but when it came time to be reimbursed they went against what was promised and I was shorted 10 days of rental reimbursement. I have called several times and am still short and was also under paid for the days that I was paid for. Onyly when a claim is made do you know how good your insurance is. As I read hear Ameriprise has become less than honest in the way they are dealing with people lately and I will be switching to another insurance company.
Im Ameriprise customer for at least four years. I have my payments always on time and also consider myself as a loyal customer. I have no violations and have a excellent driving record.May 16, 2017, I was hit by a car that was uninsured, very next day insured (it was weird). The damage is $1296 (around). When I called Ameriprise I was given a claim agent, her name is Amy and personally me I am not happy with the service. I do work in retail and I fight for my customers, I want them to leave my store happy, theres no bigger rewards from that! Well, thats not the situation I am in right now. Asking Amy: who is going to pay my deductible ($1000) the answer was me, myself! Speaking with another Ameriprise representative I was clearly explained that if some uninsured car hit me I AM NOT going to pay my deductible, that would be Ameriprise which was not the case in the conversation with Amy. Long story short. I have to pay myself my deductible and Amys (according to my question:whos going to give my money back?) answer was: I will try to reach to the violator/insurance. Well, I do not believe in the word try, either you do it or not! After two days after the accident, I personally reach the violators car insurance and claimed myself my accident which I end up giving the claim number to Ameriprise claim agent Amy. So whats the point if I have to do the job on my own?! Anyways, I am not recommending this insurance company. You all good until you pay your dues, but in case like mine, youll be totally neglected. So I highly DO NOT recommend this insurance company. Will be changing it soon!
Horrible company. Broad sided by a drunk driver with lowest limits of insurance he could have. Ameriprise is forcing me to sue them for underinsured payout. Isnt that why I have insurance to cover my injuries when the other person does not have good coverage?Two years ago we had major hail damage to our home. Siding color couldnt be matched but Amerprise only wanted to reside one side of our home. They thought it was ok to have one side a different color than the rest! Advised I was getting an attorney as in MN they have to pay to reside entire house for color matching. They heard attorney and within 15 min I got a call back saying they would reside the entire house.Why do I pay them over $5000 a year in home/auto insurance if they arent going to cover us for what the policy states it will?GREEDY, GREEDY company! I left as and went to USAA. I now have much better coverage for the same price and I have many friends that state they really take care of you during s claim. Even contractors state Aneriprise is one 9f the worst companies for claims handling and USAA is one of the best.
Dealing with their employees is a nightmare, not sure how this company is still in business and shame on Costco for dealing and promoting their services.When I made the claim for my broken sewer line and hot water pipe damages I start working with Teresa Rose, terrible terrible experience she doesnt answer phone calls and emails I have to call her every day to remind her about my policy. So I complained to her boss Price Colvin and I ended up dealing with him directly and he is just like her maybe little better.Anyway I dont know yet what does my policy cover or dont cover no straight answer from them yet.I am shopping for any company beside this lousy company.So unprofessional and terrible communication.
Have been a customer for several years and would not recommend! Signed through Costco advertisement, usually Costco wouldnt work with bad companies but this one is a disappointment! I am shopping now to hopefully switch! Despite that we are giving them a big business with insuring 4 cars and a house, they treat you badly! Fees are going up every single time although nothing has changed, I asked them to switch one car that we only use occasionally as occasional use rate , they said we need to provide mileage reports for all 4 cars, one car is so old, the dash light on odometer not working, trying to explain it that I cannot get the reading for that car, they dont even listen to you.... Yes, stay away!

I trusted COSTCO provider for my auto and home insurance and that has proved to be big mistake, In three occasions, they have disappointed me. Just yesterday, my car battery died when the temperature was single digit. So, i called them for a jumpstart service. The service did not arrive ever. They kept sending me an automated service saying the service will arrive in 10-20 mins. But never did. I called them and they kept making up stories such as bad weather- there was no bad weather where I was. It was in East Coast only. Same thing happened when I called them for Home lock service at the middle of the night. They never came. So, just because they are cheap, pl do not rely on this company. I am going to file the complain with COSTCO also,
I’m sorry I did not mean to say this about Ameriprise I was dealing with Allstate and I was so Angry after they hung up on me that I accidentally filled in the wrong review again I’m sorry Ameriprise. I hope to have dealings with you in the future and I’m sure they will be 100% better than Allstate.
Very decent on the home insurance (without having to talk to a service rep...). I decided to check their rates on autos too and I had to talk to a service rep for this. Much like the Costco Exec that reviewed below, I had a nonsensical experience concerning a vehicle Ive never had issue with insuring with anyone else. Is one modified? Why yes, the Jeep. Blah, blah, tire size, lift, blah, blah. And apparently ANY increase more than 2 of either tire size or suspension/body lift is a flat out no go. Mmmkay, delete the app and thanks..Jeep and Toyo owners take note.
As I read the other reviews I am noticing a pattern that follows exactly what happened to me. I was re ended by an uninsured driver. I was stopped in traffic and she hit me going about 50mph. I was not only injured but I have a traumatic brain injury that I am just starting to recover from. I was treated by Ameriprise (my insurance company) from day one like a liar and a dirt bag. They denied $3500 of my auto damages. I drive a Jeep Wrangler Sahara polar. It was in min condition. They paid under $1000 worth of damages. Basically they denied 3/4th of the cost of damages.My accident was 4 months ago. Things are winding down. This accident basically turned my life upside down. As I was getting adjusted by my chiropractor today he mentioned that he had an odd conversation with my insurance adjuster. He said they talked for maybe 2 minutes and then she said none of Alisias symptoms line up with her injuries. He said he didnt respond because it was such an inappropriate/unprofessional thing to say to him. As if I am skilled in theatrics to fool a neurologist while they spend innumerable hours testing my brain. As if I have time to go to 9 hours of doctor appts a week while I run my business. I have the best Blue Plus plan available and I have not used my medical insurance this year or last year.....It seems mind blowing that I would be accused of lying by 2 adjusters from the same company. The insurance company that I am paying to insure my safety. Ameriprise is undoubtedly the worst auto insurance available.
Horrible customer service.Gave me a quote and accepted payment...Then after the second payment was received they started wanting information about my vehicles as if I was trying to file a claim.After I provided what they asked for they wanted more like my titles for the vehicles.I dont like having a company change rates on me after I already started payments with them.
At one time this was the BEST insurance you could get....but lately they are HORRIBLE. Giving really BAD information. They caused me a lot of hell on earth with their bad information. What a shame. :((( tears.
DO NOT use these people. They approved my roof claim in April. It is now OCTOBER and the adjuster will still not approve any of the roof bids I have gotten. Each time, the roofer his pointed out something that the adjuster has been wrong on, and every time she comes up with a new reason why she wont approve payment. KATRA LAMPTON is the agent that literally has it out for me for whatever reason. I have gone so far as to give her paperwork to the roofers bc what she wants is so specific. She will still not approve. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.
Please be aware that this company will slug you with a $23.02 charge if you do not re new a policy with them. Tried to dispute it with them over the phone - I was threatened that if I didnt pay they would notify the credit rating agencys. What crooks! do not use this company ... look around and go with someone else.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! MINUS 1 STAR!! I wish I had read the reviews prier to calling. I had to learn it for myself unfortunately. I feel bad for AMERIPRISE EMPLOYEES. Yes, they offer you a good price. Too good not to take, but its not on the up & up. After you switch you will find out that you were lied to. Something will come up and when you call they are so very nice as they tell you that there is nothing that anyone can do. Not even a manager. My story; getting liability only for a 1998 Honda Civic. I switch in June, in July they e mailed me extra questions. One question, does your car have any dents? I called customer service not sure on how to answer this. Unfortunately yes I said, its an old car. 20 years olds. Dents from being in a parking lot and the car next to me opens their door and hits mine...what should I do? I ask. She answers, well if it was me, I would say yes. So I did. WRONG. Now Im expected to fix these dents. No you can not take it back. I was given a date that I would be cancelled on if they did not receive proof I fixed them. PLUS, they want two forms showing them proof of my address and another form showing I garage the vehicle here. ?????? WTH! What does that even mean? Garage the vehicle?..... Remember, its only liability Im getting for my car. I am so disappointed and angry. Of course I have no intention to do these things. I bought the car 5 years for $1000. What a waste of time.
Ameriprise may appear cheap on premiums when you get your initial quote from them, but may quickly turn on you with increased rates and/or cancellation of the policy they just sold you within 2 weeks of buying it online. Costco should cancel their contract with Ameriprise. I have been an Ameriprise auto insurance customer through Costco on and off for over a decade. I went to them trusting Costcos recommendation as I have been a Costco Executive member throughout most of this time. Their premiums were decent and the service great too in the PAST. The only reason I had switched to another insurance company for a few years was due to a very discounted auto insurance rate through my employer.I switched to my employers insurance about 6 months ago only for a lower rate. Recently, I checked the rate through Costco and the quote was a lot lower than what I was paying through MetLife. Great!, I thought.... I went ahead and purchased the policy online at the quoted rate, they sent me confirmation of everything through the mail with declaration page showing quoted rate etc. All good, right? No, not right.6 DAYS after buying my policy, Ameriprise sent me a new declaration page showing they revised my rate due to a change in your accident information. What change? I submitted no change. Nor did they elaborate on what the change was. The did, however, elect to raise my premium by 22% after they had just sold me this great policy 6 days prior. 1 DAY after receiving the revised declaration with the increased premium, I received ANOTHER letter dated 7 DAYS after they sold me this policy. This letter informed me they are CANCELLING my policy effective 15 days after the date of this letter. The letter stated that “the driving history of one or more vehicle operators does not meet our guidelines.” It went on to reference four Comprehensive glass claims over the last THREE years.In response to this disappointing news, I emailed the company to clarify and provide context on what the glass claims entailed. I let them know that none of those claims was for glass replacement, but simply for minor rock chip repairs to my windshield (I commute on the interstate) that the insurance covered for under $50 each time. They sent me a regurgitated response that didnt even acknowledge the context, nature, or size of the claims that simply said: The policy is canceling due to the four claims within last three years. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Inconvenience? This doesnt begin to describe how huge this lie-based deception is! I now have to pay an increased rate through another insurer based on this criminal bait and switch tactic.This company is ridiculous and is completely engaged in dishonest business practices.Shame on Ameriprise for treating a long term customer like dirt. As a loyal long term Costco member, I will highly recommend Costco cancel their contract with Ameriprise as they are very unprofessional and completely dishonest.This is the second time they’ve pulled a ‘bait and switch’ on me where they sell me a policy for a cut/discounted rate, then turn around 2-4 weeks later and bump the rate up higher or cancel me all together. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt the first time, and now I know their actions are malicious, shady, and what I would define as criminal. I informed them I will be reporting their shady business practices to the better business bureau and letting everyone I know to avoid the company like the plague in order to avoid being jerked around. The company is ridiculous and absurd. I hope more folks like me report them to BBB and Costco and that they’re forced out of business so other are not deceived like myself and others who have reported complaints to BBB.
Ameriprise is absolutely horrible. I had more than one experience with a rep that was dreadful and left me in tears. Most recently, I was rear ended by a driver with no insurance. Lauren from Ameriprise treated me sooooo awful, was demeaning in her tone and very condensending. It was as if it was my fault. I also used Neil for another claim = equally as horrible. Unless you enjoy being berated -- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company is horrible! My daughter was hit by one of their clients and they tried really hard to blame my daughter by using billing techniques. We finally had to get an attorney to settle the matter. Will tell anyone to never go with this company.
