I had the pleasure of working with Ellen for over 15 years before I moved out of state. Ellen is an amazingly compassionate human being with a keen insight into people and relationships. She brings a wealth of personal life experience to her sessions and has a passion for helping people heal and grow. I have referred several friends to her knowing that she would be able to meet them where they were at and help them. Though more expensive than other therapists I had worked with Ellens expertise and insight were always well worth the price. If you are seeking healing or personal growth in the Dayton area I cant recommend Ellen highly enough.

Ellen provides a safe place to confront complicated Truths. In spite of being frustrated by not having answers to some of life’s difficult questions, I am in awe with the process of discovery and more comfortable with the knowledge the answers will come when I am ready to receive them. Life is full of surprises – some of them not so great – and thanks to time spent with Ellen, I have been better able to navigate the not so good ones and even be grateful for the lessons they bring.

My wife and I have both had individual counselling with Ellen and have been very pleased with her. She is compassionate, pleasant, easy to talk to and, perhaps most significant, she is very insightful. Her assistance has been vital in helping both of us work through some of the challenges of life. When deciding to write a review I noticed a previous review that was unsatisfactory for reasons having to do with her rates and, what I assume to be a misunderstanding with regards to an appointment.. I cannot comment on her rates since she is the only therapist that I have talked to. However, I have to assume that the issue with the appointment was a misunderstanding, perhaps on both parts, because those comments certainly do not reflect our experience with Ellen.

I have learned so much from this woman. She has a way about her, a calming affect, a warmth. The tools that she has given me have helped me wade through every relationship in my life, parenthood, even nursing school. I consider her a mentor, a coach, and a treasure. I feel lighter after every visit.

Ellen is genuine, caring, insightful, honest & a good teacher. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

We contacted Ellen in regards to premarital counseling as we are wanting to continue to grow as a couple and family and are hoping to learn some techniques to continue this once married. My fiancé called her and when he was told the price per hour, let her know that he would have to discuss this with me (as we have found many other well certified counselors for less) but we wanted to discuss our options. We decided against using her services. Yesterday we received a phone call from her, claiming we had not shown for our appointment at 1 00pm (an appointment that was never scheduled) and when my fiancé let her know that we never went through with scheduled an appointment, Ellen scoffed and said, welp, I hope you find what youre looking for! and hung up the phone.Its unfortunately that a woman who is supposed to help build and repair relationships, isnt even approachable. Even if we had decided to use her services, by the way we were treated prior to, I have a feeling she would not have provided the services she is offering. Not to mention, I dont feel any type of counselor should speak with their potential clients that way - the reason people seek a counselor is to help mediate, not to feel judged and disrespected.
