Highly recommend this place! They will treat you right. Long story short I was having issues starting my car. When I first took my car there it was working fine of course, so they kept it another day and then the next day they called and told me it was just my key fob. When I got there, they showed me exactly what to get offline and it might only be a $15 dollar fix. Quick, easy, and saved me a lot of money! I will definitely be taking my car here in the future!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was the best experience I have ever had at an auto repair shop. I thought I had a several hundred dollar problem with my windshield wiper mechanism and I did not expect to be able to get it fixed within the hour, or even the same day. Terry said they would do their best to try to work it in on Friday, the day I brought it in. He called me back within the hour to let me know they were able to fix it and they weren’t going to charge me. So, yes, honest, punctual, profession and more than reasonable price for the service. I was very impressed today when I took my van back in after it had been repaired. Terry was upfront and helpful. He stated he thought the van had one of two problems and only fixed the one originally because he didnt want to charge me for something I didnt need. At the time I stopped he was busy with another customer, but took the time to repair my tire at no cost. The staff here are so friendly and they know what they are doing. I have brought my car here several times and every time they always keep it straight with me. They never try to fix problems that dont exist. Genuine and honest are the two words I can say about this place and that is not something you see alot of these days.

I moved to Ohio from Connecticut 1 year ago and had to find a new mechanic, which was a daunting task since I own a 2002 BMW with 200k miles. At first I was using a service that was associated with my insurance, however I soon realized they were scamming me to get money out of me. I found Kettering-Oakwood online and gave it a shot after reading the reviews, and I am so grateful I did. They are quick, affordable, and honest, which are all qualities that are necessary yet rare to find all in one spot when it comes to mechanics. On top of this, most mechanics might find it easy to lie to me in order to cash out since I am a younger woman with an old BMW. Terry, JT, and Eric have always been honest and helpful, and they have always explained anything done with my car thoroughly and clearly. I have had to get a decent amount of repairs done recently due to the mileage reaching that high point, and I am so glad I found K-OA. Theyve fixed about a dozen issues with my car at this point in time, and theyve always been speedy and communicative about it whenever Ive brought the car in. I cannot recommend this mechanic highly enough, and if youre someone in a similar situation as me looking for a good mechanic, this is your place.

Was told by a National tire store that I needed new brake pads and was quoted a price I declined the service. A friend of mine told me to try Kettering Oakwood Automotive, took the vehicle in to have the brake pads checked and was quoted a price by owner, Terry Toner, that was half as what was given at the tire store. Scheduled an appointment ment to have the pads replaced, when the technician took the wheels off, he called in Terry, to take a look, It surprised me when Terry told me that the pads were in great shape and they would not recommend replacing it. As a veteran I appreciate the traits of Honesty and Integrity, I will now be forever be a patron of Kettering-Oakwood Automotive.

Phenomenal experience all around 10/10! I had been trying for weeks to get my headlight changed in my jeep after buying the bulbs myself because that was less expensive than using shop parts. Several shops refused to use the parts I had. I called Kettering-Oakwood and talked to LT. He was extremely kind and told me if I could not be fixed out in the lot, he would get my car pulled in. I was immediately greeted upon my arrival and I did not sit more than maybe 15 minutes before my car was ready after being pulled in immediately. LT let me know what was going on every step of the way and was overall wonderful! As a young woman this was an extremely comfortable experience and I would definitely come here again for future repairs. This is a place that was quick and efficient, with excellent service standards. I will definitely be back!

My first time visiting Kettering Oakwood Automotive (KOA) I had a flat tire due to a large nail! While taking my car in, I also mentioned to the owner, Terry, that one of my tires valve stems had literally broken off before and it may be a good idea to get all 4 replaced. Terry and his team patched up my tire and replaced all 4 valve stems for a very reasonable price and were done the same day - ever since then I knew this was the place to go, as their professionalism, quick repair time, and fair pricing was unbeatable!More recently, I had a strange noise going on and off from the back right side of my vehicle. I had first taken it to the dealership to get a recall taken care of in the same area of the car thinking this may be the issue - they completed the recall (lower control arm) and didn’t see anything else wrong. I headed straight from the dealership to KOA where even at his busiest at the end of the day made time to schedule me in. The next morning I dropped off the keys and the same day heard back from Terry with my car all fixed up!For anyone looking for a reliable/professional auto repair shop, Terry and his team are the place to go!

I made an appointment to have my A/C checked and my oil changed. I arrived about five minutes early and was asked if I could leave my car. I asked for how long and was told there was no way to know because there were twenty cars in front of me. No offer of a loaner car or rescheduling. I took vacation time from work for this appointment and it was a big waste of time. The owner replied to this the next day and claimed he offered me a loaner car. That is completely false. If he really wants to make things right he should contact my email directly and not make false claims on Google review to make himself look better. Also, he should not allow people to make appointments if they wont be honored.

I had a car towed over to have it checked out. The tow truck company had it towed and used the dropbox but did not put any contact information on the envelope. When I called they were upset because they said they cannot get in touch with anyone although I called before I had it towed and gave them my phone number and name. The person on the phone got upset and said that they will not touch the vehicle and they will have it towed if we didn’t pick it up. The person on the phone was yelling at me and did not allow me to speak when trying to explain that I was not the owner of the vehicle. I was trying to give them the information and he hung up on me twice. They are very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. They had a vehicle for two days and they did not perform any services on the vehicle. I had no idea what was going on and was only calling to check on the status of the vehicle to find out what work needed to be performed. I was helping out a client of mine but it went all wrong very fast.

Terry and his mechanics did a great job with my F-150. I was getting ready to go out of town for a long trip and needed some general maintenance done. They were fast, and the prices were great!

This is a great place to have auto work done!! I live an hour away and will take all of my cars here. If I have any questions I can call and get them answered. If I have any concerns I can take my car there to have it checked. They do not try to sell you things or unnecessary repairs. They are a family business that truly cares about your family.

I called on a whim to see if I could get an appointment made for my car to be looked at. They told me to bring it in whenever convenient for me. I brought it in for an oil change and an inspection. My battery needed replacing, they did not charge me for service. Then, as they started backing up my car, they noticed a noise. They realized it was my exhaust and helped me out at no charge. Awesome shop! Took my Chrysler 300C Hemi in for several different repairs that would have cost a lot more going somewhere else. They were quick to diagnose issues that had been incorrectly diagnosed by another shop and were beyond fair with their pricing. Not only did they charge less than they had quoted, but they also fixed a small exhaust leak for free. The repairs were all done and finished within the same day and the quality of work was top notch. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely be using them again for any future work I need done! 5 stars all the way around!

I had a screw in my tire. I had never been here before. I called and he said if I could come right up they could fix it in 5-10 minutes. They did and they didnt charge me. He said come back another time when you need something done. I will needless to say!

If I could give them 10 stars I would. They saved me thousands of dollars. I came in for an oil leak. Another place had put dye in my car car to see where the leak is coming from and then quoted me close to $2,000 to get it fixed which I didn’t move forward with. Then I went to Kettering oakwood automotive and they looked at it and fixed it for $190. Got me in and out within an hour. I also had some new windshield wipers laying around in my car which I couldn’t figure out how to replace and they took it upon themselves and switched them out. I am so grateful I found them and I will come back here from now on if my car needs work done. Highly recommend! Thank you guys!!!

After getting burned at another shop (2 rack and pinions and 4 alignments later) I took it here and they were able to find out where the last one screwed up asap. I will be using this shop for any further repairs I ever need.

To begin with this shop is by far superior then any other shop. I have ever been too. I used to live in Oakwood but moved to huber and still take my car here because theyre the best. Its a family owned business ran by a father and son. As soon as you walk in your greeted with a smile and helped right away. They even offer loaner cars at no extra cost! Which I find is one of the best things I think you could offer. But Terry the owner is amazing he really knows his stuff and can break it down too you like a teacher where I learn a little more every time I take my 99 gmc 1500 in and when I dont understand something Terry will ask me to come down and hell show me or save the old part to show me. LT is Terrys son. By far one of the most friendliest, well mannered and respectful young men I have met. Neither one of them will try to sell you something you dont need and will tell what is and whats not a safety issue and I love how they dont pressure you into buying something you dont need. I have meet most of the technicians at the shop. Nate is great! Hes given me a ride home a few times before I moved very friendly guy and really knows his stuff. Hop is another tech hes the jokerster of the bunch anytime Im in he always has a new joke to tell, the guy came from a dealership and really know his chevys! I believe Brian works in the 1st bay and anytime someone shows up he never hesitates to ask how youre doing. All round great group of guys that really care about theyre customers. Theyve saved me thousands of dollars and I cant thank them enough! Great work guys. Keep it up!

I had 2 vehicles that needed repairs. I called and talked to Terri himself the owner of the scam. 1 car over heating which was a chrysler 300, 2nd car needed struts.1st car, 300.. car is over heating i call to get a price qoute, Terri gives me a price for just a water pump,, and sine my water pump is time belt driven he also gave me a price for the kit. Terri assured me he was make sure it was the water pump was bad b4 replacing the water pump. Terris son calls to tell me they cant do the water pump without doing the timing belt. (The owner Terri said it could be done and gave me a qoute) so I ask why does he have to do the timing belt since I just had it put on not 50,000 miles ago? Hes son flys off the handle and tells me Im not a mechanic so idk about cars. So I deal with Terri directly, heres his response to me asking a question.WE TOLD YOU THE VERY 1ST TIME THE CAR WAS HERE THAT IT MIGHT NEED HEAD GASKETS. IT IS LISTED ON YOUR RECEIPT. THE WATER PUMP WAS BAD AND IS TIMING BELT DRIVEN. WHEN A VEHICLE HAS OVER 300000 MILES THINGS BEGIN TO GO BAD AND THATS SOMETHING WE CANT CONTROL. NO THE CAR ISNT OUT OF TIME. BUT MS CAMPBELL IT LOOKS LIKE IM UNABLE TO HELP YOU. EVERY SINCE WE BEGAN TO SERVICE YOUR VEHICLES I HAVE BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO HELP YOU AND UNFORTUNATELY IT LOOKS LIKE MY SHOP CANT PLEASE YOU. All bc I asked if they check to make sure the timing was on. Wait theres more Terris responseEVERY TIME YOU HAVE SECOND GUESSED MY TECHS OR TELLS US WERE WRONG. ALSO YOU WAS VERY RUDE WITH MY SON. YOU CAN TAKE IT AND GET A SECOND OPINION SOMEWHERE ELSE. BUT THIS TIME WE WILL NO LONGER BE SERVICING YOUR vehicle, all this from asking questions about a car i paid 800.00 to fix, but its not fixed still over heats and as you can tell the owner dont care. He got my money and didnt fix my car.2nd vechlice, suv...I needed front struts. And the sunroof drains blown out. They ended up charging me 400.00 more than the qoute and had me replace things that didnt need replaced they did tire rods, struts, sway links, I had to bring it back bc the alignment was off and they had an attitude about that, tried to tell me it was a tire problem. I had the car looked at by another shop, and the alignment was still off. Had to pay another company to realign the suv.This company is a joke and Terri seems like the biggest scanner with his sons bipolar attitude, you should probably just take your car to a better shop. This one dont care if your car is fixed or safe to be driving around in. Stay safe ppl and go else where. I have a lovely voicemail, I will be attaching to this, Mr.Terri at his finest. Again ppl all I asked was if the the timing was checked. Sir your lieing again, you didnt show me no parts, not 8 shops had the thermostat, radiator and hosses already replaced. Then you call me threatening me on voicemail, bc ur shop is bad. I was nice and very respectful and you took advantage of that. Sir shame on you. You know I wasnt mean the thought of the head gasket was brought up upon getting the quote. You were supposed to make sure that was not the problem b4 u replaced the water pump..again thts why your the mechanic and not me. You charged me for services that was not the problem, didnt fix the issue, and then speak to me like Im a child. That voicemail was air dropped and shared every where I could put it. I cant beleive you would do something lik this to ppl. I wont add to this no more the voicemail will be put in the comments or somewhr soon.

There is not enough praise I can give them. 2 months ago I called around to get a starter and after being told by 2 other shops it would cost almost $900 they told be it would be about 600. It was when covid had us in quarantine and I was out of work. They held my car for nearly 2 weeks so I could save up to get it fixed, they didnt call hounding me to come get it Terry said just let know when you got it we understand; and they did. When I called they had it fixed in a matter of hours. I thought then that that were just amazing. Last night I find I had no brake lights. I took it in today and when I got there they came right out and got to it. One had come lose, they replaced the one that was out they checked all my lights and wiring. I went to pay and he told me to have a nice day. So as far as Im concerned I will not take my car anywhere else. So a big shout out and thank you to all the guys at Kettering Oakwood Automotive for all that they do.

I found Kettering Oakwood Automotive on google and went to them based on their great reviews. I was from out of town and needed a mechanic. They were great and really lived up to the reviews I had seen. I will use them again if I even need a mechanic in the Dayton area.

If youre looking for a professional, efficient, honest and reasonably priced mechanic, this is your place!!I brought my daughters 2001 Nissan in and was told it needed numerous repairs to fix everything wrong with it. I asked Terry what he would do if it were his daughters car and just needed it to run safely. He narrowed it down to just a couple of things that absolutely needed to be done, cutting the original estimate by over $1000. He had the car ready less than 3 hours later, and even fixed our remote door opener free of charge. I never felt for a moment I was being taken advantage of as a woman (common with many repair shops), and really feel they were as fair and efficient as possible. Terry and his son LT are very friendly and professional and I highly recommend this business.

Great service, would highly recommend this place to anyone. I took my car in after it was making noise when I braked, they got me in quick and found the problem, replaced both my brake pads and rotors. I did have the same issue with my car again recently and took it back in where they found there to be an issue with the brake pad/rotors (no fault of them) and they replaced them under warranty with no cost to me! I will definitely be taking my car here again for any more repairs that I may need, great customer service and great quality mechanics that dont nickel and dime you like some mechanics do.

I stripped my oil plug and needed help fast. Found Kettering Oakwood Automotive in Shroyer Rd and they took me in quickly and got me taken care of in minutes. Literally, left my house and was back home in 10 minutes. I will have to say I have never experienced this kind of service and professionalism in an auto repair shop. I just found my new auto home and I’m gonna spread the word to my family.

A friend recommended KOA, so I tried them out on a power steering leak on an 09 Forester. Their diagnosis was to replace the rack and pinion and flush the steering fluid, an expensive fix to be sure. A day after the repair, the fluid was gone again, the screech was back, and the wheel was nearly incapable of turning. For a second opinion, we took it to the Subaru dealer who said the hoses were leaking and that I should go back to KOA for them to correct it. I will give KOA credit for picking it up from the dealer and replacing the six-inch metal hose that had a hole, which they returned to me as the source of all the problems in the first place. Did we need to start with the most expensive stab at the problem with a $1500 rack and pinion when the replaced hose would have stopped the leak and the problem? If that was their audition, they missed a lot of notes and played out of tune on the wrong song; it does not inspire confidence in their ability to diagnose the next problem. So sorry this happened and tied up the car for over a week. Just glad my wife and daughter didnt have an accident after the initial repair and wrong diagnosis.

I took my vehicle to get checked and my daughter was with me. They made us feel very welcome and even offered us a rental while we waited. Told us the price and was very understanding about my situation. I appreciate there kindness and integrity. I look forward to bringing my vehicle in on November 8th. I have no fear that they will do an outstanding job so the vehicle is safe for my family and me.

I needed my front wheel bearings changed and my friend was too sick to let me borrow his tools and help me out. I came to Google to see where the best auto mechanics were. This place had the best reviews so I gave it a try. They showed me it was in fact the wheel bearings making the noise but there was also a tie rod loose. They got it done in just a few hours and didnt screw me on the price. My cars running smooth and solid now.

I had an amazing experience with this place! They were able to get my car in the shop and fixed in a matter of hours. They even provided a rental car for the time I was without my own. Price was on par with other mechanic shops in the area. But the best thing was the timing. I called at 1 on a Friday and my breaks were changed by 3. Most places you have to call and schedule that. They also offered me a ride which I’ve never had offered before.

A little over a month ago, my 2016 mini-van was making an odd noise. Weve taken it to the dealer for every issue its ever had and they usually resolved it and weve paid their prices. This time, the diagnosis from the dealer was broken flywheel, estimated at $1,400+ and a few days to get the part and complete the repair. After reading reviews from other satisfied customers, we decided to give Kettering-Oakwood Automotive a call and were promptly assisted with a quote at almost half of what the dealer wanted to charge. We dropped off our van, and had it back in half the time, and the staff showed us the broken piece for peace of mind. No reason to pay dealership prices when you have better service, better prices and great quality available from a business local to your neighborhood!We will certainly be coming back with any future vehicle concerns! :)

These guys have saved my butt on so many occasions from small jobs to bigger jobs, it’s fair and reliable. I had a nail in my tire while at work and they plugged it for me in 20 min and sent me on my way without asking for anything in return. Truly wholesome service. Ive had several experiences now with this shop, and they are uniquely polite, professional, and knowledgeable each time! Their pricing is perfectly reasonable compared with other shops Ive tried, and their customer service is far superior. They offer loaner cars when needed, and their work is always quick and effecient. Ive never had to bring my car in with the same issue twice, which is more than I can say for the dealership where I purchased my car. This business is truly an asset to the community, check them out the next time you need work done on your vehicle!

The owner, Terry, and his crew take care of me and my daughter every time. They are always honest with us. I know this because I have taken my cars there a few times after stupidly taking them to a corporate-owned place where they told me lies to get me to either buy new tires or very expensive parts that Kettering Oakwood Automotive said I didnt need. Will never take my cars anyplace else!

Any time I have a problem with my vehicles I only go here best shop I know. People here are so nice and respectful and they fix whatever is wrong and never have any problems with it after I get it back. This is way I only go to this shop. Really enjoyed the visit

I recently moved to the area. My 2007 Mini Cooper has had its share of issues over the last year. My first experience was good. I knew I had found an honest place to take my car. Yesterday was my second experience. It has been wonderful! They even gave me a car to drive until my repair was complete. They take customer service to a higher standard.

Charged $375 for less than hour work ,charged $150 for $15 parts Terry said gas tank would have to be dropped to replace brake line.It was not because I had sprayed everything with undercoating and none of the threads that hold tank had been disturbed. Besides that its accessible without dropping the tank After complaining he refunded $100, the most dishonest place I have ever seen, would give 0 stars if possible. Its amazing how some business owners can lye because they know their bubble has been busted and that is why you are mad Terry because you got caught ! You got 4 stars only because people havent found you out yet. Just remember honesty goes a long way and so does word of mouth

Had a great experience with this company. Got everything done and then some at a fair price. I had to leave my car over the weekend and was prepared to have to find a ride to work. Terry handed me the keys to borrow a car for the weekend and asked that I just replace the gas I used. I dont know of any mechanic that does that! Everything was completed as promised and on time. This is my new go to shop! And everyone was very friendly. Thanks guys!
