Worst experience ever. We reserved the truck online opting out of any extra insurance and fees just to be told we had to buy insurance for an extra $300 before we could take the truck. They had us over a barrel because we didn’t have any other transportation. If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is. That bait and switch put our total cost up to the price of a Uhaul.The reverse lights were out on the truck provided so they gave us a different truck. I’m certain they knew the truck they gave us had problems - it sounds like the truck from a review a couple of months ago where they just ignored the customer saying there was something wrong with the truck. We weren’t able to check it over since they parked it in the street. We started off from Dallas to Texarkana and noticed the steering wheel was at an almost 90 degree angle. The truck shook so bad and one of the blinkers was out. We took it to the local budget dealer in Texarkana just to be told we would have to take it back to the dealer we rented from - over 3 hours away - or call roadside assistance. Long story short the technician that looked at the truck said we were lucky it didn’t crash and ordered the truck non operable.Budgets policy is to have a manager approve a swap in vehicles so we waited the morning for roadside assistance and the rest of the day for manager approval. We were told at the end of the day the manager finally approved the swap and they were bringing a truck first thing the next morning. I’m writing this review at noon and we’re still waiting on the replacement truck. In the meantime we are paying movers to sit around and wait with us. Absolutely the worst service from the beginning to now.I will NEVER use budget for anything again. I will NEVER go to SwifT convenience store for anything. This entire experience has been a nightmare. What I thought I was saving by using budget has cost me twice as much as the “savings”. NIGHTMARE!

Guess they have no control over the rental of this truck as we were dropping it off. But dang, wipers did not work - the front tire almost looked like a stop sign. It vibrated 55-65 and would start again @ 70, so needless we kept it at 68. The place we dropped it off at is a convenience store but the guy was just opening it up - he acted like all our concerns were the least of his. But it was cheap - we survived the move - guess it all ended well.

I understand that reservations are not contracts. But when you just need a cargo van and you show up and are offered a sixteen foot truck, you feel like youve been played. For reference the van is nine feet long storage space.

Do not waste your time here. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for a box truck and after waiting at the counter for 15 minutes for someone to assist my husband was told they do not have the truck. Did not even have the decency to call and inform us of that.

Overall, its the best way to go. The place I rented it from was reputable and the owner was forthright and knowledgeable about Budgets products as was the place I dropped it off. The pricing is a little murky on the details when you reserve a truck online. The amount to rent the vehicle was quite a bit more than the estimate on my reservation and that was disappointing. Its not the owners fault but it still reflects poorly on his business.

I reserved online and got hit with $110 added mandatory fees. We had to take it as we rode the bus there to pick it up and had no choice. I was so upset cause it took away from our trip money and not the price I was quoted. The dude didnt even seem to care and neither did customer service. I will never rent from budget again they are a RIP off!

I had a similar experience as Shawn Beasley with insurance issues (Please read his review as well) at the Budget location at 2908 Samuell Blvd. I rented a truck in mid-April of 2019. I had made a reservation ahead of time (where I stated I did not need insurance) and went to pick up my truck on the day of the rental. I was told that I was not allowed to pick up my rental without purchasing insurance. I called my insurance and verified coverage; however, the Budget attendant would not allow me to rent the truck without purchasing his insurance. He verbally confirmed this when asked directly if I was required to purchase his insurance to rent a truck. I told the Budget attendant that I had a reservation for a specified amount and that requiring high priced insurance after the initial reservation was wrong. He said “How do you think Budget makes money?”. Had I not been schedule limited, I would have left and found another truck to rent similar to Shawn’s solution. After completing the move, I reviewed the terms and conditions where it clearly states Budget insurance is optional. I called customer service and they confirmed this but were unwilling to provide a full refund. They also showed no interest in correcting the actions of their representatives at this location. Will not use Budget in the future and hope you choose the same.

A guy with whos name was Ali, I believe, gave us the best rental service weve ever had. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and sincere. Above and beyond the customer service we expected. I dont know where the bad reviews of these lovely people came from, but they were far more happy and humorous than your typical rental service employees

I’m here for a 8:00pm reservation 7-11-19 and there is a guy here and over 30 trucks and he is telling me to come in at 6 am to get the truck like I didn’t rent the truck for 8pm for a purposeI the called the 1800 number customer service and they said they could do anything about it and a sup. Couldn’t be reached until Monday. Why aren’t the proper procedures in place for this? I will not be renting here ever again 2908 Samuel blvd

Yea...at the end of the day the crew here does what they can for you. Things are what they are. Initial phone convo were a tad abrupt and not very service friendly sometimes..but they are busy people and theyre at the mercy of whats on hand regardless. They do thrive on UPS and such transport services...regretably they do hog all the trucks promised to us..oh well. When you finally step in the door the family and crew there are really great people and will do what they can for you. Our truck worked great no issues until we had to drop it off in Beverly Hills...and another great crew there that waived a few fees for late drop off. Overall a very affordable pleasurable 1400mile experience. ThanksBudget!

ADDED FEES AT PICKUP ALERT: Rented the truck online. Paid around $800, then go hit with hundreds of dollars of additional mandatory payments at the counter. Will not ever use again if they don’t make it right. If you are reading this, it means they have not yet made it right.

Online reservations wouldnt work, Budgets fault. Not answering the phone after 20 min. of calling, owners fault. Telling me no trucks are available when the lot is full of them at the beginning of the day through the afternoon...not a good experience. If I could have had this dialogue on the phone it would have been much easier.

Absolutely do not rent from this place. Did the rental online and when we went to pick up the truck they didn’t have the size we had reserved. Guy who rented us the truck told us he would give us a larger truck for the same price since they didn’t have it. When we went to turn it in turns out that he gave us the wrong contract and did it wrong for the wrong return date which changed the price from $50 to $175 do to the size and late fees. We tried to show the email reservation to the manager and they wouldn’t honor it because they said we signed the incorrect contract.

Around 3/4pm on April 6th I went to a location in East Dallas and I had a reservation for a truck, however, when I got there I wasnt greeted in a pleasant way. I proceeded to check on the reservation and fill out the forms however they wanted to charge extra for insurance without telling me I could use my own insurance. I had to actually call the actual company to verify the information and then once I verify with them that I could use my own insurance then thats when they agree that yes thats what I could do and had an attitude with it. I didnt like the way this felt nor did I feel like this was a good business practice, so I told them I would leave. When I checked my bank statement I saw that I had a charge with $50, I thought it would fall off considering I never took a truck but it never did. This store is not a good store. 2908 samuell boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75223. No need to name names because the whole store needs re-evaluation.

I went get a rental truck from this location. I went the day before man confirmed the rental but I had to pick up up the next day. He stated that the fee would not not change. Got to location to pick up truck the next morning to pick up truck amount went from $259.00 to $450. The man was so rude. He mad me not ever want to rent from them again. Went to another budget and my price went back to original price. DO NOT TAKE YOUR MONEY TO THIA LOCATION.

I WILL NEVER EVER RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. I GOT A TRUCK RENTAL FROM THIS PLACE TO MOVE TO LAS VEGAS AND THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN ON ME 4 TIMES. THE VERY FIRST NIGHT I WAS ON THE ROAD A GENTLEMAN FOLLOWED ME TO A CONVIENCE STORE TO INFORM ME THAT I HAD NO TAIL LIGHTS. WHEN I CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE... IT TOOK OVER 2 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO COME TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN I GET BACK ON THE ROAD ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE 2 OF THE TIRES HAD SLOW LEAKS. WHEN I CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AGAIN IT TOOK OVER 5 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO COME TO REPLACE THE 2 TIRES. THEN I GET TO NEW MEXICO AND THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT WHEN I STOPPED FOR GAS. I ALMOST TOOK OUT A GAS PUMP AT THE PLACE WHERE I TRIED TO REFUEL. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOOK OVER A HOUR AND TO FIX. THEN AFTER SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY ON GAS I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC IN ALBUQUERQUE WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS DRY ROT IN THE FUEL. WHEN I GOT TO BOULDER CITY, NV. THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT YET AGAIN. A STATE TROOPER CAME 30 MILES TO CHECK ON ME . WHEN I TOLD HIM HOW MANY TIMES I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCJK. HE TOLD ME THAT THIS TRUCK WAS UNSAFE AND HE TOOK ME AND MY DOG TO HENDERSON, NV. THE TRUCK WAS THEN TOWED TO LAS VEGAS TO MY NEW APT. AND BECAUSE IM DISABLED IT TOOK ME 5 DAYS TO UNLOAD THE TRUCK AFTER RECEIVING A THREAT FROM ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES THAT MY BELONGINGS WOULD BE TOWED IF I DIDNT GET MY TRUCK EMPTIED WITHIN 24. HRS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO HORRIBLY BY A COMPANY BEFORE. THAT TRUCK SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE ROAD LET ALONE GOING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. BUDGET HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. ALL THEYVE SAID IS SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!!! REALLY? YTHIS COMPANY HAS LEFT A HORRIBLE TASTE IN MY MOUTH!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Worst experience ever! Had to give 1 star to write this. The truck broke down 1.5 hours after we got it. Called the gentleman at the store where we rented from and he was super RUDE and talked to us like he had our money not his problem anymore. Had to wait 2 hours for someone to come change a battery. Will never go to this location again and if I were you I would not either. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

RUN AWAY! One star is more than this place deserves. Aside from the fact that this place feels like you could be stabbed at any second, this was the worst rental experience Ive ever had. I thought Uhaul was bad. I made a reservation for this location online at 6AM. It was not open when we arrived. It didnt open until 7AM. The owner arrived around 6:45. We told him we had made a reservation for 6 and he said he doesnt open until 7 in a very condescending tone. He was unconcerned with any mistake that had been made and didnt make an attempt to help us. We finally went inside at 7AM when he opened the doors. There were no blankets available, even though we had reserved them. The price was higher than the price quoted online with less value since we had no furniture pads. The owner kept up with his unconcerned, rude tone. He would stop in the middle of our transaction to sell multiple people lottery tickets. I gave him a credit card for the deposit and then my debit card for the actual charge. He charged it all on the credit card without telling me. I called Budget customer care and they offered me a credit that was about 7% of the total price of the truck rental. So not only will I never be renting a truck from this location, Ill never rent another car or truck from budget ever.

Do NOT rent from this location. I was charged triple the amount of miles that I actually drove in the truck I rented. When I told the serviceman that I tracked the number of miles with the trip tracker on the truck that read 30 miles when I returned it, he said how do I know you didnt just set it? RUDE. I have three witnesses who were with me that could verify how where we drove. He billed me for 90 miles and refused to show me the paperwork from the previous trucks trip to verify the starting mileage. At the walk through process the guy who gave me the truck ran through the process too quickly and didnt allow time to verify the mileage. I rented a UHAL the next day, did the exact same trip and was only charged for 30 miles. Dont rent here - Use UHAL.

I had to put 1 star in order to post. This owner gets ZERO stars...Went in person on a Tuesday, trucks all over the place & looked at the type I would be renting. He told me in order to get unlimited miles I would need to book online. Booked a truck the next day (with a pick up of 4pm on Friday) with a confirm number and estimated total that I would be paying at pickup. Jackass called on Friday at 2pm letting me know there was no truck available and that he could check with another location 45 miles away in the opposite direction of where I was traveling. I explained to him I could not go to that location based on my travel plans so his suggestive question to that was would you like to cancel the reservation. I told him abruptly, NO, I want the truck that was confirmed when I reserved it. He called the other location and did not have a truck there anyway. I ended up paying more with Penske but they were very professional & accommodating and I got in a truck at 4pm. Penske will be my rental company going forward and anyone that asks me about Budget will get this locations address to STAY AWAY FROM. DO NOT RENT A TRUCK FROM THIS LOCATION.

I booked a rental truck that I would pick up in Dallas TX at swif-t, picking up a boat, & that I would be dropping off in las vegas NV. When I arrived at the location to pick up the truck the guy (Noorla), said that I needed to have the optional insurance coverage. I stated that I booked it online, and it said the coverage was optional, and showed him on my email. Noorla said, I had to have it, and handed me a personal financial responsibility certificate form. I pointed out that on the bottom, it clearly states insurance is optional. He told me I was not getting the truck unless I paid for a coverage ( in a condenseding tone). I asked what was the cheapest coverage, me stated $275. I told him Ill do that one, but Im going to fight it, when I get to Vegas, since it clearly states optional. I was 1100 miles (18 hours) from home, any this guy strong armed me into picking an optional coverage that I didnt want nor need, to rent the truck. I spoke with the truck rental manager Morgan Brant at the Las Vegas store, and explained the situation. She stated I was correct, in not having to have the optional coverage. Morgan stated that she would be filing a complaint about the situation, and she has heard many complaints about the Dallas dealers. I called customer service on 8-10, and was told to call back the next day. I called again on 8-11, and spoke with an agent, then I requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor Angel offered me a $30 inconvenience credit. I an not looking for a $30 credit, I want to be refunded the $275 optional coverage that I was forced to take. In order for the dealer to give me the truck that I rented. Dont rent from this POS. Likes to play games.
