I’m new to the area so I needed a reliable barber. Milton and Urban soul studio were on the top of the list. Milton cut my hair after discussing what I wanted and suggested some tweaks and I couldn’t be happier. His attention to detail and artistic flair really showed on the final result. It was also really nice to see him explain what he was doing to myself, several barbers and a intern. You can tell that the people there love what they are doing. I’m looking forward to have my hair cut regularly there. Would recommend anyone to check them out.

Urban Soul is a very clean barber shop establishment. Every barber in the shop is knowledgeable of their tradecraft and strive to continue to better themselves. I have never walked out with a disappointed haircut or bad service. I highly recommend this barbershop. FYI this shop does bookings, not walk ins.

I cant recommend this place enough. If youre looking for high quality mens hairstyling in Dallas then this is it. My stylist was Milton, the owner, and he was excellent. Very professional and helped me realize the style I wanted despite the fact that I wasnt sure of the details. In addition to being friendly and personable, he was also able to explain everything he was doing so that I understood and would be able to maintain the style he gave me going forward. Uses quality products and is a master of his craft.

After moving to Texas earlier this year, I had a really tough time finding someone to give me a great cut....until I visited urban soul studio. These guys are awesome. My cut with Milton was fantastic-you can tell he really takes pride in what he does. He took his time and it looked amazing. Also, given everything going on with the pandemic they did a great job of creating a safe environment. Everyone had on masks and plenty of spacing was used. I’ll definitely be getting my hair cut here again.

My experience at Urban Soul Studio was top tier, and I ended up leaving with the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. My barber Teddy was very knowledgeable and experience about his craft. Even after just one haircut, I could tell that he not only cuts hair but he truly cares about the client and makes sure that you leave with a smile on your face. I’ve been going to Abel for over a year, and when he moved to Urban Soul, I made sure to follow. Abel does a great job cutting my hair. He does exactly what I ask, and I don’t feel like I’m going to get “surprised” when he spins me around to see the mirror. I drive 20-30 minutes to go there, because I don’t trust anyone else to cut my hair.Urban Soul is clean, professional, and the entire team is great at what they do.

Beyond satisfied with my haircut. Abel was my stylist but Teddy and Oscar helped out as well. I had very long hair before and they cut it into the exact mid-length style I wanted with just a few reference pictures. It was honestly a team effort which I appreciate. I felt very taken care of as they all helped to pin my hair up and discuss the method of cutting. They really do know their stuff. My boyfriend couldnt get over the loss of my long hair so I broke up with him. My cut is too good to have someone around who doesnt appreciate it

I’ve come here for at least 5 hair cuts & beard trims over the past few months and as someone who regularly gets a cut every 2 weeks or so this is by far the best shop in Dallas, TX. Teddy is my barber not only is he published but he cuts hair better than anyone I’ve ever gotten a cut from. The attention to detail from him and the rest of the staff is incomparable. Highly recommend this shop ESPECIALLY if you have an event or special occasion. You will 100% leave happy let alone satisfied. Milton, Gus, & Oscar are also great and beyond friendly. 11/10 would recommend.

Best barber shop in oak cliff.I booked a haircut with Teddy, and I must say I was extremely happy with his work. He really took his time and he pays attention to every detail. My cut was perfect. The last time i had an excellent hair cut was 3 years ago in colorado from a master barber with over 25 years of experience. The past three years ive tried barbers from west texas all the way to east texas.. none of them could meet my expectations. Today im glad to announce my hunt is finally over. I chose to have my hair cut by Teddy based on the fact that i saw in his pics that he was using scissors. To me that was a good indication of him being knowledgeable in his art. Not only did he exceed my expectations, i know hes better then the master barber that use to cut hair. Teddy is legit! You got a customer for life Teddy, I tip my hat to you sir.

Visited Urban Soul for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The environment was calm & relaxing, and very clean as well. MY HAIR IS RUINED!!!!!I had an appointment with Oscar Silerio and he gave me a completely different haircut than what I asked for (photos of the fiasco attached). I brought in 4 reference photos for him to explain EXACTLY what I wanted and had a full conversation with him about it going through the photos and talked about what I wanted. He said he totally understood and we got started. Unfortunately I put my trust in him.He proceeded to shave the sides almost totally bald after we discussed tapered sides going from longer to shorter gradually. Unfortunately he gave me the same length everywhere.I had specified I did NOT want to fade between my long too hair and my short sides and I wanted a clean break between the long and the short. He ALSO ignored that and faded the long into the short completely. This means I will have to wait even LONGER just to get my hair back to where it was before this mess because part of my top is now super short. It will be 3-4 months of growing out my hair before I can even try to get the haircut I asked for.He also literally gave me a completely different haircut than what I had asked for. He cut my top EXTREAMLY short and proofed it up to look like some sad excuse for a pompadour. I couldn’t believe when he turned my around towards the mirror and saw what he had done. It’s by far the worst haircut I have gotten in the last 6 years. I can’t believe it cost me $50 to get a haircut I didn’t ask for and for Oscar to make me have to grow it out for months just to try and get ride of his work.It looks like I went to Sports Clips and said “hey can you give me a modern pompadour” and they said “we can try....”Bottom line is I will never step in there again. I got a haircut completely different than the one I asked for, brought it VERY specific visual references for, and had a full conversation about with Oscar before the haircut.See photos to take a look at how he cut off all my hair I had specifically grown out for this haircut and shaved it all off.EDIT: In response to the owners message I would like to reply.In the moment I was so upset about what had been done to my hair that all I wanted was to get out of their as fast as possible. I think it is clear from the photos attached that there was no fixing what had been done to me vs what I had asked for. So yes I did say its fine and leave because what could possibly be done to undo that awful cut.And yes I HAVE been to Urban Soul 3 times prior but NONE of them would I rate as being PROVIDED a 5 star review. AND if you check my other reviews you will see I have NEVER before left a 1 star rating. I kept coming back trying new barbers at the shop to find a good fit.I have attached pictures and you can not try to tell me my haircut looked even decent especially when compared to the reference photos I brought in.I also dont know what you mean by the MANY other CUSTOM requests that you accommodated for [me] Because the REASON I went to this place is because I was paying for a premium service so I could be very specific in what I want. I always tipped 40-50% tip except this last haircut where I still tipped 20% out of common courtesy.If anyone felt that they did not feel comfortable doing the haircut I came in asking for they should have spoken up. I should not be paying $60-$50 for a haircut from someone that doesnt feel confident with what I want.

Found Gustavo on Instagram (ig: gusmendoza_) while search for a Dallas barber and was so impressed with his skills, I decided to book an appt. Booking an appt and checking his availability was very convenient via their mobile app. The location was a bit out of my way in Bishop Arts, but was well worth it! Everyone at the shop was very cool and laid back and Gustavo did an amazing job! The best haircut I have had in Dallas!
