I wanted to wait to write my review after moving in so I could share the full experience from beginning to end. I walked in and was greeted by Bear (yes her name is actually Bear) with a welcoming smile. Bear was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! She showed me various units based on location and floor plan and was able to answer ALL of my questions for me. She made the leasing process smooth and painless!! When I would call or email her, she ALWAYS responded back quickly. Every single time. Before deciding on my unit, I visited the property 3-4 times to view and check out other units before making my final decision, and Bear more than accommodated my interests. She allowed to me view the apartment several of times before leasing. Ive worked with many leasing agents in the past, and by FAR, Bear has been the BEST!!!! Her professionalism and down to earth personality was one of the biggest factors of me moving to Aura on McKinney. THANK YOU SO MUCH BEAR!!!!!!!! The views, the unit, the staff and entire apartment community are beyond expectations!!

They got a brand new team back in May/June and theyve really made some improvements! The parking is great with plenty of parking for my visitors. They have a super cute dog wash which I love since I dont have to try and wash my crazy dog in the tub and get fur all over my apartment.

UPDATE: I am updating my review from 2 stars to 1 star given the latest events from this past week. I had a severe leak in my apartment this past weekend and have been very unsatisfied with how the office staff has handled my situation. The emergency maintenance that showed up this weekend was not prepared - he didn’t know how to turn the water off to stop the leak. He said since the leak stopped on its own, it should be fine. I called the office multiple times on Tuesday when it opened back up after the holiday weekend to see if another maintenance worker could take a look to make sure it was resolved (since the person who showed up this weekend acknowledged he didn’t do anything to stop the leak). I finally got connected with the manager after multiple calls and an email. She said she would take pictures and get back to me regarding next steps for the water damage to the ceiling. I also sent her the pictures I took and a video showing the severity of the leak. I never heard back from her, so I called the office again on Thursday morning and was connected with a leasing consultant. He acknowledged my concern, said he would connect with maintenance and call me back. Again, I never received a follow up and called back again. I was connected with that same consultant who said he lost my message, and that’s why he never responded. To this point I still have not received resolution or even acknowledgment on the damage to the ceiling in my apartment. I have escalated my concern to the management company and hopefully they will make some changes.I would NOT recommend choosing Aura on McKinney. They have changed management so many times over the past year it is hard to keep track. On top of that, the resident portal to pay rent has changed I believe 3 times since December (often with only a couple of days notice of your rent payment due date). The main elevator seems to be out of service every other week, and there is ineffective communication from management when it is out of service or scheduled for maintenance. The package notification and pick-up has been horrendous. I repeatedly was not notified of package delivery to the leasing office. When asked if I needed to provide consent to receive alerts, the response was the office was not setup for that. They have the parcel lockers available, but if theyre full, youre out of lock and have to work with the office. If you do know you have a package in the office, the hours to pick-up are not flexible for residents. They refuse to bring the package to your apartment when you are unavailable during their office hours. The most obvious example of their communication struggle has been in my notice to vacate. I called the office, left messages, and even spoke to leasing agents to give notice that I was not renewing my lease. The leasing agent I spoke with did not know how to proceed and suggested I call back. I eventually sent an email to prove that I had a record of giving notice due to their lack of responsiveness. A month AFTER I gave my notice via email, they still gave me a renewal letter. Save the headache and find somewhere else

During my apartment search, I had the pleasure of meeting Mark! I was out of state but needed some options ASAP, and Mark made sure he gave me the video tours for the units of my interest. Beyond that, he went above and beyond to get to know ME and figure out amenities that I would like or not like. It wasn’t just about selling the unit, it was about me finding a home that was right! Staff like Mark, definitely make Aura an incredible place to call home! Thank you again!

DO NOT LIVE HERE! If I could give Aura on McKinney a 0 star I would in a heartbeat. The reason behind this? It is quite simple; Aura is the worst place in uptown to live currently. The first 6 months of living here were good until the winter arrived with the rain. My sliding glass doorleaks constantly whenever it rains to the point that my floorboards are beginning to smell like mold. After speaking with other residents I found out that this is a building issue that has existed for over a year and NOTHING has been done to correct or replace any windows/sliding doors. I previously lived in a house with mold and it can cause serious health complications, so you can imagine the pure joy and excitement now having to deal with mold in a “luxury” building. But this isnt where this pleasant fairy tale ends! Aura on McKinney is advertised as luxury apartments which are quite nice at first glance, but once you have the pleasure of living here you will experience the unlisted amenity of break-ins and theft! On June 1st, 2019 I walked out to the parking garage where I always park my car to find that it was missing. My first thought was that it must have been towed by mistake. I wait an hour until the office opened to speak with someone, only to find out that my car had not been towed it had been STOLEN. It is completely ridiculous the number of cars that have been stolen from this parking garage! And still, nothing is done to protect the residents or our property. I filed a police report and started the process of reporting my car stolen. I assumed the front office of Aura would at least reach out to me about my property being stolen. That is where I was completely wrong. It took me reaching out to the regional manager to get a disingenuous phone call back from her 3 DAYS LATER. After, I finally received a call from the building manager, an annoyed, condescending and unpleasant tone of, So your car was stolen that sucks. The fact that my car being stolen out of the parking garage was just too big of an inconvenience for them and that a simple call was just too much of a waste of time to even attempt. To break it down, dont rent or live in this building your property will be broken into or stolen, your apartment will have mold in it and the unprofessional office will not care once you sign your lease.

This building is a mess! I was so excited to be moving into what I thought was a boutique apartment with amazing management staff. The last 6 months have been the worst. This building has terrible water pressure at ALL TIMES. There are some days that my shower wont even turn on. I was told that its due to the water tanks being on the 1st floor. There have been numerous car break ins and most recently apartment break ins. The lack of additional cameras and security is appalling. This is not a cheap place to live yet, we are treated like an inconvenience. The management team does the very minimum with any and all issues. They send generic responses when you voice a concern or problem. My car was vandalized and Ive been harassed when trying to enter the building. To the point where it doesnt feel safe to live here. Counting down the days until I can get out of this place. I do NOT recommend.

Save your money and live on the streets before you live here.. I’ve been here since June 2019 and they have changed management companies three times. The communication lacks and they disconnected their emergency maintenance hotline number without notifying the residents. I have MOLD growing inside of my apt and can’t even contact anyone about it until they are open tomorrow.. Also do you like the convenience of an elevator? Well don’t expect one here because it’s always down. Do yourself a big favor and keep looking because Aura on McKinney really sucks!

We are so excited that we found this place when we moved to Dallas! It is centrally located between Knox District and Uptown! We walk to dinner, shopping and to get my nails done! We were able to snag one of the 7 townhomes so its great for having a dog and letting her out the back door. The amenities are perfect with an office area/conference room, great pool spot and firepits to sit around while grilling at night! I would definitely recommend you look here when searching for the right apartment.

One of the most unpleasant places I’ve lived. Unhelpful staff, unsafe area, countless auto thefts - one of which was a friend staying with me over the weekend. There is trash and bottles all over the parking garage on the weekends. I’ve been followed around the building and don’t feel safe. When asking the staff for help, they act like you’re bothering them. They’ve changed management three times in a year but there have been zero improvements. They fight back on feedback. I moved simply to get out of there

I lived at Aura on McKinney and had a very positive experience. The leasing staff responds to request/issues in a very prompt matter. The maintenance staff handles problems within a day of you submitting request. I have never seen a car broken into and my own personal vechicle has never been vandalized in any way even though I haven’t parked inside the residents gate.

The management is the single worse aspect of living in Aura, but I wish I could say that was the only negative. The management is unhelpful, unknowledgeable, unapproachable, and condescending. In a recent interaction with Melissa regarding move out fees, she approached the manner unprofessionally by trying to imply “what she would’ve done” and then offering condescending advice. The garage is not safe, yet the management acts as if demanding a solution is unreasonable and out of the realm of their job description. Living here was thoroughly unenjoyable, the area is unsafe, some neighbors are extremely unfriendly (also indicative of the general negative culture), the amenities are barely useful (dog park is only for SOME dogs?), security cameras don’t work, they only ticket and tow residents yet do nothing about the auto thefts and break-ins), they overcharge for ridiculously small amounts of space, the messages in the portal regarding trash or amenities are rude, etc. Please do not attempt to live in Aura.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I am counting down the days until my lease is up. I pay way too much money in what is supposed to be a nice area for the kind of problems Ive been having. My first month living here was the start of a nightmare. For this to be a brand new complex I had to put in so many maintenance request for them to fix things that shouldnt need fixing within the first month. I asked the person who showed me the apartment about the noise level and specifically about the installation and he said Id be fine that the installation was taken into consideration when they built the place. That was a lie. The material used to build this place is ridiculous because I can hear every argument my neighbors to the right of me have and I know what part of the apartment my upstairs neighbor is in at all times because I can hear every footstep. Not to mention my bedroom wall is the same wall as the living room of the neighbor to the right of me so I have the pleasure of listening to their tv every night before I go to sleep. There has been several car break-ins, a resident backed into my car and to top it all off my car just got towed for not having a parking permit which I never received and just found the email for the complex saying I need one in my trash can. This should have been a note put on residence doors notifying them that they could potentially have to come out of pocket $200 for not having a parking pass which again I never received when I moved in. When I finally got in touch with the apartment manager they said there is nothing that they can do because theyve been notifying residence since December about the change. AGAIN I DID NOT SEE ANY NOTIFICATION. For me to pay over $1500 to live here Id rather move to the hood and pay less for the same living experience. Lease here at your own risk.

I cannot express to you how miserable I am at this apartment complex. There are too many things that I dislike about this apartment complex. I live in a two bedroom/two bathroom apt. I moved to Dallas in July for work, and thought it would be fun to live near Uptown. I cant tell you how angry I am at myself for choosing to live at the Aura out of all the apartment complexes in this area....and heres why:1. The walls arent sound proof at all. I literally can hear everything, EVERYTHING. The walls are extremely thin, and sounds echo. I can hear when my neighbors upstairs come into the apt, and can tell you exactly where they are at in their apt, because their footsteps are THAT audible. I can even hear the dog upstairs walking back and forth in the apt. Now granted, I do think my neighbors upstairs are truly loud, I know the the structure of this building is very poor by the way I can hear my other next door neighbors on the same floor. My roommate is woken up at least once a week to the sound of our next door neighbors to the left having fights and MANY other things (bedrooms right next to each other? The worst design ever). We are both heavy sleepers, yet were woken up around 3x a week, because of all of the noise. Im currently writing this review after being woken up by my neighbors.2. Staff-Management switch occurred a couple of months after I moved in. Aura is now managed by QRS. I feel like every time I have reached out to them about something, they dont seem to really care or take action. Ive nicely asked them to help me out with all the sound coming from upstairs, but nothing has been done.3. Parking situation. The parking garage is pretty packed, and to add on to the inconveniences, this apartment complex recently made more parking spots reserved (you can pay an extra 50 dollars a month to get a spot reserved for you), making the parking garage even less accessible. Since I already pay ~$2500 a month, I opted out of this option. Well....I had no option but to park my car in the ungated area one day, and then my car got broken into. Another residents car got broken into on the same day. It was Christmas Eve.......We filed a police report, and nothing could be done, because there were no cameras in Aura facing in.4. Elevators. Not only are the elevators extremely slow, they are not well maintained. At least once a week, I see a puddle of dog pee in the elevator. Ive seen French fries spilled, drinks spilled, and who knows what else. The docking elevator is the same size as the normal elevator, so it was extremely inconvenient when we moved in, because furniture was too big for elevators.I literally can go on and on about how miserable I am here. I hope this review saves a couple of people from making my mistake. There are so many options in the area...look around! No matter what you do though...turn AWAY from Aura.

Was forced to sign a Fetch addendum (a service no one asked for) when my lease was already fully signed and executed, the only reason I signed was management was withholding a $500 credit from the first months rent, and going to make me pay month to month at an additional $250 a month until I signed. Wasnt worth the legal battle. This unnecessary service costs $12 a month just to prolong your packages, and risk the likelihood of them getting lost changing hands for no good reason. So essentially youre paying shipping on top of the shipping you have already paid for an item.
