We could not have had a more pleasant experience. It was both adventurous + relaxing as we totally took our time and stopped a few times to take photos and snack. All in all its less than 2 hours from start to finish but because we intentionally slowed down, we completed it in 2.5 hours. Kenny and Thomas were incredibly helpful and thorough. They both gave us great feedback and tips regarding technique. The water was pretty low but kayaking through the river was absolutely stunning! This was overall an amazing experience and Im so grateful we had Kenny and Thomas as our guides!

Kenny and the others were fantastic! This was our first time kayaking and we absolutely loved it. All four guys we dealt with from the beginning to the end of the trip were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We cant wait to come back and do this again! Highly recommended!

My husband and I did both a kayaking and tubing trip for our honeymoon. We had a great time both days! All of the staff we spoke with were super nice. They gave us clear instructions and tips for navigating the river. We chose to do a tandem kayak because were experienced at tandem paddling and were very impressed with the kayak. Weve done an inflatable kayak elsewhere before but theirs was much sturdier and thicker, so we werent afraid of this one popping on the rocks! The tubes were great because they had a mesh bottom so we could store our dry bags with us. I highly recommend this company for anyone who enjoys river activities!

Thomas and Kenny are wonderful. Thomas was incredibly helpful in teaching us how to properly paddle and what to do if you get stuck. Kenny was very knowledgeable about the river, history of the area and just very pleasant to ride with on the shuttle. The river was amazing and I’m glad we were able to take it at our own pace. We will definitely be coming back for the wine tour or once saddles and paddles starts up

I admit, I was a little nervous doing an unguided tour but they explained everything and what to look for on the journey. I appreciate them waiting on me a few minutes as I was coming from Phoenix. Definitely worth the trip. Nice scenery along the way and a great workout. I enjoyed it! Great for all levels

Thomas, our Verde Adventure River guide was super friendly and helpful. He contacted us the day before letting us know a few things suggested to bring and that we could contact him with any questions or if we would be arriving late. This was helpful to one of the other members in our group as they were running a little late but on their way and it was no problem waiting for them. Thomas definitely knew what he was talking about, showed us a few tricks with the paddle on land and told us some things we would see along the river back down to the parking lot, and sent us on our way. He also was happy to tell us to just take our time and enjoy the experience as much as we could! Overall it was a really great experience and we really enjoyed our day. Definitely worth the money spent for the Inflatable Kayak Adventure!

Such a fun experience! There were 7 of us celebrating my mom’s birthday and we had an absolute blast! We are not kayak experts by any means, but we felt comfortable and safe the entire time. The guides were very friendly and helpful as well! Definitely something fun to do with a large party or a small group!

Beautiful day on the river. Saw wildlife, no people, good river flow and comfortable Kayaks. Thomas met us right on time at the take out area for a short bus ride up river to put in. This was such a fun day! We had a group of 4 ranging from never before kayaked to moderately experienced. The section of the river was just the right level for our group. The guides were friendly and informative. The winery was very pleasant, the food and wine was great and staff extraordinary attentive, accommodating and friendly.

Originally we wanted the water/wine trip, but it was sold out. Instead we enjoyed the self guided inflatable kayak adventure. what a big name! ;) Anyway, Thomas was a perfect host, explaining the nuanced differences between a ducky and a rigid kayak, and giving tips for our tour - and entertaining us on the ride out! Full marks to Thomas and the company, but Im not so sure about inflatable kayaks... But yes, I would ride with Verde again.

My niece planned this excursion for us and it was a blast. I wish it could’ve been a longer trip down the River, the wine tasting at the end was a perfect touch. We met a couple from California and some other nice people. It was a great time and I will definitely be going again. Thank you all.

Group of 6..great time. Water had several small rapids and floating in between. Made it a great combo. Winery relaxing afterwards. Good wine, the samplers of food a little pricey but good. Were told we could take the wine glasses, but then told no because we purchased bottles?. All was good

Thomas was the guide and he was extremely helpful and had a great personality. The experience overall was great. I went solo and took my time floating down the river. Good for beginners. Fun for all.P.S. Don’t forget to leave your guide a tip, and hiking sandals were nice to have when getting in and out of the river.

The trip had gorgeous scenery and we were lucky to see a deer, turtle, and ducks.The two hours was too much for my 13 year old, so the final half of our journey was difficult and not enjoyable. That was the tour that was recommended by Verde Adventure when I requested the shortest trip. Our guide said it was actually one of the longer trips.There was no instruction provided, so I had to teach my daughter on the river. Luckily she picked it up ok. I’m not sure what we would’ve done had she not. After about an hour she got tired and had a lot of trouble maneuvering. We both just needed to be done at that point, but didn’t have much choice in the matter.There weren’t enough life vests for our everyone in our group, so I sacrificed myself for my 13 year old to wear one. Ideally, we would’ve all worn one.All in all, it was a beautiful trip and experience for my daughter and I. It would’ve been better for us had it been half the time.

What a fantastic experience! We had such a good time. Matthew and Ashley were great. Good communication before our trip and Matthew was very informative when we got there before we set out. We got lucky too. Two weeks after a monsoon storm made the water level just perfect. Several rapids, none of which were hard. Seriously good time.

We were greeted by friendly laid back hosts, which set the tone for the day. Received a little history on the way to the kayak drop off. The self-guided kayak ride down the river was relaxing as we could just float at our own pace and enjoy the coolness of the water - which was a welcome change from the heat of hiking. The “white water” was enough to be fun, yet not overwhelming.After the river ride, we went to the winery and tasted some amazing wines and had a bite to eat, while listening to live music. The staff at the winery were also friendly, laid back and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this excursion!

This was the best kayaking trip I have been on in a while. Thomas was absolutely amazing and so helpful... I even watched as he stopped with my friend to help save a man and a young child in a rough spot on the river ... We were in good hands and I knew that immediately and was then able to relax and enjoy myself! I did too as the river was so full and so beautiful! My friend and I enjoyed ourselves immensely and would recommend to anyone looking for a perfect way to spend the day! Thomas you made all the difference... I didnt want a guide at first ... But I immediately warmed up to it!

I used Verde Adventures as a shuttle service from Clear Creek to Beasley Flats and they were all fantastic. John even whittled a plug for the front of my kayak out of a fat branch when mine was missing! Thomas was also super helpful. Shout out to Kenny greeting us at the end of the River!! He’s a hoot! We were a group of four today. The Prewetts. Enjoyed the talk and instructions given by Matthew prior to getting into kayaks. Learned a lot of good stuff. This kayak experience was my second time in the water with kayak and I was able to do quite well on this 1.5 hour trip. Yes I hit a few rocks and some spots on the shore side but no accidents. Great time!! Winery experience was very nice too with live music being played.

Loved experiencing the Verde river on the self guided kayaking trip! Thomas was so helpful, fun and encouraging as he instructed us on proper paddling techniques and how to navigate the water. I just noticed the plastic raft and life vest smelled sweaty/musty so really needs to be cleaned better between people using it, for this I removed one star. Otherwise it was a great experience any outdoor lover would enjoy

Kayaking the Verde River was one of the finest most relaxing and revitalizing g experiences I’ve had in a long time, I needed this trip!Communication and set up for the trip was made easy by Verde Adventures.Tommy was our guide and he was nothing short of spectacular! He was very fun, and informative taught us everything we needed to know to get through the trip. I am new to kayaking but after such a great time I excited to dive in more!I have absolutely no complaints, it was pretty perfect 😍

We had so much fun kayaking down the Verde today. We saw a mountain goat on the cliffs! Kenny and Thomas are very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of helpful tips. We would definitely go with Verde Adventure River trips again.

Wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Very scenic and peaceful. Even though the water level was a little low, there exciting ripples and small rapids.Our guide Thomas, was very knowledgeable thoughtful. He offered water, lanyards for our sunglasses and plastic bags to put our phones so wouldnt get wet. He gave us detailed instructions on how to handle the kayaks and where to go to stop and rest. Absolutely amazing adventure. My first time tubing down a river but it has always been something I have wanted to do and I was not disappointed. Awesome staff and a fun lazy trip down a river. That being said the river is more of a creek at some points and the sharp pointy rocks will be at an elevation that is greater than your butt during some parts so do yourself a favor and lift your butt out of the water during the fast parts to avoid turning your brown eye blue. Thanks for a fun and amazing adventure. My family loved it and we will be back next time we are in Sedona. Also get the tube for a cooler and be sure to pack plenty of beverages and snacks along the way. We stopped at a beach and had a picnic on our way down the river and it was absolutely amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this adventure.

So much fun! I brought my two sons this time and they both had a blast. We took our time, about 4 hours, and it was a nice break from normal life.Staff is great too.Second time I’ve done this and I’ll be doing it again next year, at least once!

THOMAS is the best guide! Super helpful and friendly. His colleagues called out and he was left alone but he was definitely able to handle all the groups on his own. You can honestly tell he loves this job. He even saved a group of kayakers who were not in our group and one of them had a baby with them! A GREAT way to spend a Sunday- relaxing on the water. The adventure brought lots of laughter and smiles. Crew was friendly and told fun local history. The winery pizza and refreshments after trip wasn’t shabby either. Worth the cost!

We did the water to wine tour. It was about 1.5 hours kayaking on the water. We started at 9am because it was in the month of July. Perfect weather, not even too hot. The kayaking was intermediate, not to hard. My friend had never been kayaking and she ended up learning a lot and doing pretty well. At the end of the tour we did some wine tasting. We enjoyed our day. Bring lots of sunscreen, and water to drink with an change of clothes and you’ll be good!

One of the most fun excursions in Sedona area! Breathtaking views from the river, challenging and exciting river ventures, and my 6, 7 and 8 year old nephews loved it too! The crew was skilled, friendly and so helpful through the experience. And the wine tasting couldn’t have been better!! Would highly recommend to any group, large or small, old or young!!!

Planned a trip to Sedona and found this to be the nearest tubing place (about a 30min drive from Sedona). Overall an awesome and fun experience! Just be careful of those rocks/boulders because they will hit you in the behind, if you’re not paying attention! Also you can take it at your own pace (took us about 3hrs which seems long but it really wasn’t!). Can’t wait to come back again with more people :)

This is the 6th time I’ve used this company to take a group of students down the river. They are awesome. Thomas and Kenny were so great! The kids loved their experience and it’s great for novice or experienced kayakers.

Me and my Hubby took the hour 45min drive from phoenix to do the Water to Wine experience. This was our first time on a self guided tour which was a little nerve wracking but the staff made sure you were well equipped. The scenery and water was amazing! The wine was tasty and the staff was great! Well definitely be back!

I went on this kayaking tour yesterday as it was something my girlfriend booked while we were visiting Sedona. It wasnt as relaxing or cool as I thought it would be. On the surface, I did not see much wrong with the tour but while we were going down the river, a couple that was a little ways in front of us were hammered in their kayak and playing gangster rap. This one couple was extremely annoying but we ignored them as much as possible. We watched them as they got close to some guys fishing quietly on the bank. The male in the kayak reaches over and evidently pulls the fishermans line out of the water. The fisherman asked them to not touch their line and the couple in the kayak immediately got a douchey, sense of entitlement style attitude with the two gentlemen (who were quietly fishing). My girlfriend and I felt really bad for the guys fishing because they were just minding their business. As we approached them, we politely started talking with them and they were just two local guys who just wanted to get outdoors on a Saturday. One of the fishermans grandparents property backed up close to the river so we asked them how they felt about a Wine kayaking tour in their native area and they just laughed and said nothing but my girlfriend and I got a sense that the kayaking wine tour was not loved by the locals. As we left the area, we realized that a wine kayaking tour is a small example of the exact reasons America is so messed up. This company takes advantage of local laws, environment and local populations to make a buck and realistically, not only is it a pretentious activity to do, this business does very little to filter out the trashy tourists who could care less about the land or local population. While we had a decent time, I feel this business is so desperate for money, they would sell out their own grandparents to throw a couple of kayaks into drunk tourists hands and send them down the river with some sort of false authority that they can behave how they want. Kayaking is cool, drinking wine is cool, kayaking after drinking a bunch of wine is not!! Clean it up!

The water was very low in places today on our float trip. We had a lot of fun. Shuttle drivers work for those tips! Be generous when you can.Would recommend as a great day trip out of Phoenix.

This is one adventure you don’t want to miss. The staff is wonderful and very informative of the history surrounding the area. From the canoeing to the wine tasting experience was well worth the trip. You want regret it one bit.

Woohoo! Highly recommend this adventure for levels of all type. It was probably the best kayak adventure that we have done and we have done several (Tahoe/Tahiti/Hawaii). The guy who set us up was phenomenal and extremely helpful. if you are considering this adventure, go ahead and schedule it now. You will not be disappointed.

For a smashing good time, choose Verde River Adventures. Our shuttle and sort of guide Anthony was entertaining, light hearted and fun while being responsibly informative while sending adventurers off into the wilderness armed with but a paddle and inflatable rafts while defending against wild hippos, water moccasins and vengeful eagles. Matthewmade sure we knew how to paddle our little hearts out and whack any beavers who stood in our way with their dams.In all seriousness though, it was a self guided tour but Anthony let us know everything we needed to know. We had life vests to make us feel secure, and we were given strict instructions to stay right where there was a fork in the river. To help more, there was an arrow pointing right at that crucial point. Matthew really did review some paddle skills and what to do and not do in addition to how to get out of getting stuck. The float was an easy relaxing float. My friend from out of town and her sis loved our adventure today, and the wine tasting afterwards really made the day amazing! Thanks guys for the wonderful experience!!

This place is awesome!! My husband planned a surprise anniversary trip for us and this was one our stops, it was such a perfect place beautiful vineyard and winery so much fun floating down the river and a huge shout out to the staff they are amazing and made us feel so welcome they all really help make this a great place to visit we will definitely be back with the family next time

Thomas was our guide and he was awesome and getting everything set up and let us be on our way. He explained directions on how to use the kayak and then waited for us at the end. The river took us about 3.5 hours to go down and we got stuck on some areas so be prepared for that. Overall, it was a nice experience!

Really enjoyed today’s trip down the Verde river! I’ve wanted to do this for years and so glad we finally did it! We had a group of 6 - all of who have never kayaked before. Kenny was organized and gave us clear instructions. Thomas took extra time to walk us thru how to paddle and tips while on the water. It calmed my nerves and anxiety! A wonderful activity here in the desert!

Our family had a great time kayaking the Verde River. Both guides we had Thomas and Kenny were knowledgeable and helpful. They made it easy for our family including 3 kids to have a fun day on the river! We’d definitely recommend their company!

Overall my sons and I had a good time.A few tips: I got stuck at one point and a nice lady helped me out. The recent rains left higher water which has since receded but unfortunately not all the fish survived...so a few spots had a horrible decaying fish smell but we floated past quickly.The paddles are helpful. If you have small children bring along a life jacket as my one son had to use an adult (Moms rules). I recommend floating as a group right from the start.... catching up isnt easy at some points. But the momentum of several helps prevent anyone from being stuck.We never flipped out and I wasnt concerned at any point of flipping. We would definitely do this again.

AMAZING! The whole week leading up to our trip, i had my eye on the weather: SUNSUNSUN! Come the morning of our scheduled day & it was pouring non-stop! Surprisingly, with some ponchos & thirst for adventure, my boyfriend and i went thru with it and we had an amazing time — this being my first time ever on kayak! a little muddy making it down to the river but nothing a little water couldn’t rinse off. Kenny & Thomas were beyond helpful with tips & knowledge about what to expect and what to look for going down the river. We definitely plan on doing it again, hopefully with some sun next time. 🤞🏼 I’m only sad i didn’t really get to take photos along the way because of the rain — no ones gonna believe i kayaked! 🥺 lol

Kenny was so accommodating by sending reminders and then calling us, which I had wrong time. He kindly added us to next group leave time. So knowledgeable about history and area. He goes extra mile by lending any items that a group may need. It was an enjoyable experience on the river, too!

Had a blast! Friendly service, hot day, cool water. What more can you ask for? Im not a fan of having to tip the shuttle driver on top of the.$40 per person we paid. Perhaps they can just pay their workers more. Otherwise, no complaints!

Had a great day tubing!! Friendly staff that even let us go ahead of our schedule since we happen to be there early. Pretty calm water, lined with trees so some shade along the way that we enjoyed with our own 6-pack cooler. Water wasnt very clear, but that review will go to mother nature ;). Thanks for the fun!!

We enjoyed our tranquil three hour float down the river. There were fun rapids too, but mostly it was a scenic, peaceful experience. Our driver/guide was informative and witty. After days of hiking it was the perfect change of pace. We highly recommend it!

Loved the water to wine kayak tour! #1 thing we recommend if you want to get out of Sedona for a fun time! I wanted to get right back in the water once it was over. The wine was also very good. Even got a brief tour from our driver on the way to the launch site with fun facts! Saw an otter and had fun on the baby rapids. Lovely time!!

It was a spectacular day. It was absolutely beautiful and tranquil to go down the Verde River. It was so nice to go at your own pace and experience the water, trees and just nature. The wine tasting was relaxing. The Greek Salad was delicious with the wine. The atmosphere at the winery is very peaceful. They had a duo playing guitar music and singing. What a wonderful kayak tour of the gorgeous Verde river. The route was simple with some mild rapids and serene pools. Highly recommend this exertion!

The kayaking adventure was perfect! Thomas our guide was a one man show and got us all prepped and headed on our adventure. He made us all feel knowledgeable and like we could handle being on our own. We had 7 people from 13 to 49. It was an easy trip for all involved. There were enough rapids to be entertained but nothing that made us scared. We will be coming back!

I took my son and two of his friends to celebrate his 16th birthday. They had a blast. We will definitely be recommending this trip to others to do.

They make it so easy! Leave your car, get on the shuttle fir 15 min, great instructions from the guide, then your off. This is a beautiful stretch of the River. The gentle current takes you along, no hard work. End up at the vineyard for a sumptuous lunch and some wine and great music. A wonderful day!

Verde Adventures took such good care of us. The River excursion was well tended but not overdone. Tom was fun and informative and super helpful. A stupendous steward of the river as well. Sara and Wyatt went above and beyond to insure a safe landing and Wyatt was clear about directing us prior. Mariano our greeter was welcoming and on point with orienting our venture.

Our family of four loved the inflatable kayaks. It was a great experience from start to finish. We received a reminder call from Kenny; Thomas was so knowledgeable. And they were both so accommodating. I highly recommend this adventure.

This was so fun and relaxing!! We drove 2+ hours from our Grand Canyon hotel and it was totally worth it! I was a bit nervous but the river was only waste high and some times we even laughed as our butts hit the bottom. This river trip didn’t disappoint as it offer some faster spots (we felt like we were in bumper cars) and the views along the way were to die for!! A few tunnels of trees, some cliff views and even some small cut out cave spots for great photo ops!

Highly recommend this trip!! The views were amazing; the instructructions to the T and the weather was perfect. What a great way to be in nature. BTW, I saw a blue heron, mallard duck and a pair of hawks.Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Such a fun, relaxing experience. The river is brown, but it is not disgusting. A little chilly getting in mid June with temperatures around 105. You quickly get used to it and appreciate it after tubing awhile. The tubes have mesh in the bottom so there is room for your waterproof belongings. It would be easy to bring a small soft sided cooler with drinks in your own tube. Definitely bring some water as you do get thirsty on the river. It took about 3 1/2 hours for our group of 7 to float down. There are some areas where you definitely have to paddle to move down stream. A few tiny rapids help to propel you also. The verde adventure staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the cost and a fun day.

This was our second time doing the self guided kayak adventure and it was great! The hosts and guides are all top notch, very helpful, full of personality and have lots of great tips making the experience so fun! The water is really flowing right now from the monsoons so it’s a good time to book. We took our three kids ages 9-14 and it was a great way to end our summer! Come out and support them especially after so many closures from Covid and fires! You won’t regret it!

Verde Adventure made everything so easy and fun. Would very much recommend! And Thomas was very personable and gave us newbies some great tips and tricks that really helped.

Best experience. Kenny is a hoot too! You park and they shuttle you to the raft provided. The best 3 hours on the river. Drop the raft off and you are back at your car. Give it a try. I will be returning, again.

These guys were above and beyond and made out river adventure extra kickass !! Super friendly and Super knowledgeable.They had to accommodate our party of 6 after a flash flood the week prior so they scrabbled to clear the river and map a new route so we could still enjoy it.We loved it

My husband and I took our 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter tubing with the verde adventure River trip. It was a great way to cool off in the heat and spend time with nature. We were lucky enough to see several birds, fish, a beaver and a couple of river otters. We loved that it was unguided so we could go at our own pace. Highly recommend!

Such a great, serene experience. River was clean, beautiful, and peaceful. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and passionate about making sure guests were well informed and enjoying their experience. Will definitely be returning soon, and would recommend to anyone!

Had a great experience with Verde Adventures. Kenny was an experienced driver and an enthusiastic guy who took drove us to the drop off location. We were then met by Jerry, another cool guy with years of experience who took us through all the steps. The kayak itself was great, pristine views and uninterrupted nature at its finest.

This was an amazing kayaking experience! One of the best we have ever had! Anthony and Mariano were incredible and definitely loved the brief area tour before the kayaking adventure- definitely worth every dollar! We loved seeing the Verde River and it’s beautiful scenery. Also, the text before the tour was awesomely informative, so great idea!

Our family had a wonderful time kayaking! The weather was ideal and the river perfect for our 3 year old son! He loves the small rapids - smiles for days. The guides were fantastic and provided all the information needed to self-guide. We will definitely add to our list on any future trips. Thanks for the great memories!

The kayak tour exceeded our expectations. We had great guides (thanks to Danny and Ashley), saw a river otter and enjoyed wine tasting at Alcantara Winery. Cant wait to plan our next adventure with you guys!

Spent a beautiful day on the river thanks to Verde Adventure. We took the 3-hour, 5-mile self-guided trip and it was relaxing and a lot of fun. The guides drop you off exactly where you need to be, give great instructions, point out places to pull out if you need help, and meet you at the end. It’s a beautiful stretch of the Verde River. Highly recommend!
