Helinas Alterations was fantastic! I got my wedding dress alterations done here and it was definitely the right choice. KC was so kind to me, and took her time to get it right, even with such a short notice. I am 51 and we had to take a large portion off the front so I could walk properly. KC completely removed the lace details and reattached them so I could keep the detail I loved so much even though we hemmed the dress up so far. She created a beautiful bustle, and opened the back up for me so the dress was super comfortable! KC truly listened to what I wanted and delivered!

When I bought my wedding dress out of town, I was overwhelmed by the need to find a seamstress for my alterations. I originally went to a different seamstress who added cups that caused my dress to noticeably dimple on the chest. Three days before leaving for my wedding I was desperate for help and found Helinas. I wish I had gone to her from the beginning. KC is very experienced working with wedding dresses. She is also kind, honest, and a perfectionist (something I realize now is hugely valuable!). She did a phenomenal job fixing my dress. She also offered to change my bustle to a beautiful bow look and Im so so glad I did. Unlike the other seamstress, I never felt like my concerns were dismissed. Make your prewedding experience less stressful / more enjoyable and bring your dress to her. Honestly I will be using her for all my seamstress needs.

I had some upper body work on my wedding dress that I needed. Because of Covid postponing alot of peoples wedding I didnt think she would be able to do my wedding dress which is understandable. But she fit me in and did an absolutely amazing job on my dress. My fitting was today 7/21 and Im getting married on 7/23. She is absolutely the best! Ill come to her for any of my dress alterations!

DO NOT GO HERE! She RUINED my dress.I do not like giving bad reviews but I had to share my experience.I was never notified of a second fitting (which I told KC I didnt need), and when I called to pick up my dress I was told it was ready. Spoiler: it wasnt.I was charged 100$ for a hem and later texted that she forgot to complete a part of the job and if I took it to get altered again she would reimburse me.Lastly, my black dress was covered in white animal hair. Which isnt a huge deal, but I thought I would mention it.

I recently moved to SLC and needed alterations done on a coat. I brought it to Helinas Alterations and KC assisted me. She is a delight! I admit I have no background in tailoring, but I seriously couldnt find where the alterations were made. Even the thread color matched perfectly. The fit was so great and I was thrilled! After my great experience with KC, I brought several other items including a pantsuit that had to be altered EVERWHERE! Again, when I picked up my items, they all fit beautifully! The pantsuit was a perfect fit!! I was beyond thrilled!KC understands what needs to be done to clothes to make them fit and also make them functional. They are experts and I would not trust anyone else with my clothes. Expensive or cheap, you will look like a million bucks after she is done with you and your clothes. KC is extremely kind, honest and a pleasure by be around. Again, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

She is so great! I had such a short time for my outfit to be ready and kinda pushed her with my request time, but she was really nice and didn’t say no. My bday outfit looked great. I do think for what she had to do I was charged a little too much, unless she was also charging me for the time it had to be done, but she didn’t mention that. This place is absolutely amazing! I had a suit custom fit out of the country and hired Helena Alterations for the final altering and not only was the suit done before I thought it would be but it fit like a glove. This will be my go to place for all my alterations from this point on. The customer service is beyond amazing too. If I could leave her 10 stars I would no joke. They’re so great there. The only bad review she has had was because some guy showed up without calling ahead or checking and she was closed so the guy was mad which in my opinion was not a good reason to leave 1 star. It’s always a good rule of thumb to call ahead or plan ahead before expecting to pop in unannounced and if you do so and the place is closed it’s your own dang fault. If you’re in this area and need alterations don’t hesitate to come here. The service is top notch!

Helina is an absolute genius at what she does. She has that magical eye for what you want, and it only takes a few measurements and a pin or two to go ahead and do her beautiful work. Doesnt matter if youre altering a wedding gown, an old military uniform, or (as in my own case) some beautiful pants that I bought on line and which turned out to be too large for me. Id recommend her without reservation for any alteration job you can throw at her. Definitely five stars. If I could give her more, I would!

I took my Trew Gear waterproof ski jacket in because the zipper was completely broken and useless, and Helina was able to replace the zipper with the same YKK zipper in the same color. Its absolutely flawless, you would never even know its a new zipper, I couldnt be happier.

Went to the Cottonwood Heights location called first calling the woman Helina but she said shes not Helina that shed taken the place over I cant remember her name but she is Oriental.She was very nice but not professional.Needed a newly bought pair of golf pants hemmed.She gave me a price and said come back in a week, just to hem pants.Went back on the designated day at 1 p.m., they werent ready she said I will have to come back later that day.Arrived a second time, she said it took her many hours to hem these were difficult pants saying shed done tailoring for like 20 years.Went on and on how long it took her hinting for more money but I gave her the original price shed quoted and left..The hems are too high very disappointed my $80 golf pants are embarrassing to wear.I do not recommend this place, beware.

I brought My wedding dress to Helina about 5 weeks before my wedding, It was ready in plenty of time and even cleaned and pressed so it was wedding day ready! The day I picked it up she went over the buttons of the bustle with me and my bridesmaid to make sure we didnt have any problems. She really took the time to make it exactly the way I wanted and the fit was perfect. She was so kind and really listened to what I wanted she even made suggestions that I wouldnt have thought of but made the dress better than when I brought it in. She was very detailed and precise. Her pricing was more than fair. She even gave me really good advice and good wishes for my marriage it was really special, She made me feel like a friend and not just a customer. I took in a dress I had bought online bc it just didnt fit well at all. I know, online shopping can be very risky & this was a bad purchase. But KC made all the alterations necessary to make it a dress Im excited & happy to wear now! She has quite an eye for detail and her results are quality. She def has the talent & knack for making lovely alterations and my best guess would be that she could make anything beautifully if someone requested & given the proper amount of time. I would highly recommend her to my family & friends & anyone looking to have something altered. Just be sure to understand this place is MOSTLY repeat customers and customers by word of mouth. That says a ton about a business. I would suggest you should allow at least 2 weeks for something to be done being that she is the only one- quality work & work ethic is not easily replicated. Theyve had other girls but the quality just wasnt there.

KC was great! I had some dress pants that needed tailoring, but I was hesitant about getting them fixed because they were to tight. She said she could work on them and give me as much extra space as she could. When I tried them on, they felt way better. She was really nice, considerate and affordable! I love this place! I was in lots of trouble I needed my dress altered because the bride ordered a dress to small. We had a spare dress for an emergency and thank god because we used the material on the spare to finish my dress up! They did it in a week! I am so grateful! Popped into this little shop last week to get my chevrons sewed on my Marine Corps dress blues. Military uniform chevrons have to be exact otherwise you have to get them redone.The shop owner was extremely polite and worked with me to make sure she understood the proper measurements.Her husband who works there even went so far to call me afterwards to look up the official uniform order to make sure he had it right.When I got them they were perfect and exact. I was extremely satisfied with the end result.In the end when getting your uniform done or whatever quality always comes first and this place has it. 10/10 would recommend.

This is by far the absolute best place to have anything done. I took in 4 pairs of jeans that needed patched in multiple places each. Came here to get my suit tailored for an event I have in a week. There is a sign on the door that says they are on vacation. In the alteration business you need to have somebody working all year long for when you need it. I will be going elsewhere
