I rent cars for travel quite regularly, and this has been the worst experience ever!!! I usually take pictures of the car during return to make sure that things are in order. During this trip, Hertz incorrectly charged me an additional $120 for tire damage. Tried reaching them through phone, but they have long wait times. They make you wait even when they call back by themselves (who does that - worst customer experience). I couldnt resolve the issue on call and they directed me to send the documents and evidence of rightful return through email. Its been 3 months today, I havent heard back from them even once! They are not even providing the Damage expense letter, that I can use for my insurance claim.I finally decided to write about my bad experience today so that others dont have to face the same frustration I have been facing for the past 3 months. Wish I could take them to court for this mental harassment. Please stay away!!!

I usually rent a car a few times a year, but I did not need one since 2020. I was lured in from Salisbury by a fantastic deal on an Impala. The gentleman who helped me with the rental was friendly and professional but forgot to warn me about a blind curb. He got his manager and they took care of the issue themselves. This was a big relief and they were both courteous. They assured me that everything was fine and that they had ordered a sign as this happens. I was very relieved and look forward to renting from them for many years to come. I will highly recommend them to my friends, family, and colleagues.

We are so happy to have found this Hertz location. We arrived early. Only had to wait a short bit for the car to be ready. Check out was easy peasy too! We will pin this location for future business. Thank you again to everyone!

This is my first visit to Hertz, as an enterprise customer. I dont like to put a bad comment to any businesses, but posting it to help others. This place is kind of not customer friendly. They have provided a car without a remote and not willing to change the car to a better one. I have driven lot of rented cars, but this is my first experience. Also tried to put their insurance, even if I have one already. Beware... Do business better or quit. One star for these guys. See my ratings provided to other businesses, you never see a ONE ⭐.

Employees are very friendly and helpful. Would be 5 stars, but the car we got smells strongly of cigarettes. It should have been deodorized before being rented.

I frequently rent from this store and Ive had no problems until today!! I made a reservation last night to pick up a car this morning and upon arrival I was told I could not rent a car because they no long accept debt cards, theyre only taking corporate inquiries or major credit card customers. I asked the service rep why is this not specified on the site when making reservations, she told me at first that the company just changed the policy this week and then she said the site does say that its just in very fine writing. I went back to the site and it does not say that at all, it says that a debt credit card can be used and theyve used them before!! I just wish I had known this new information before I had my sister get up out of her bed from working 3rd shift to drive me to Cornelius 😠 TIME WASTED😠😠😠

First visit was about 10 months ago process was flawless. This time vehicle wasnt clean after associate took a look she was quick to get us another vehicle. Vehicle was an upgrade but got worse gas mileage. Overall will still rent again from this location.

Went to the website which has the customer choose a location which we picked Cornelius. We held a van which the website said they have 2. We go the next day to pick it up and the ride lady at the desk laughed and said we don’t have any vans. We were packed and ready to leave out of town. The agent said the website sight is set for for statewide which is a lie! Never use Hertz they are a scam..

Friendly staff, nearly new car but it lacked features like nav. I was there early Monday morning and of course they were slammed, but the employees did their best to handle the customers promptly. Kudos to them!

Accepted a reservation at 8:30am for a 3pm pick up. Got there to pick it up and there are no cars available. Heard every excuse from my phone number being wrong to they tried to call me. Wasted an entire day I could have been searching for a car, not a phone call or any attempt to let me know anything. Just poor service at this place. Beware.

Got me out of a jam after Avis screwed up and did not have a car for me. Great service from Hertz and the associate that helped me.

I made a reservation for a van to move some equipment 24 hours in advance. When I arrived to pick up the van (noon) the door was locked. Gave it a couple tugs and a employee came out and told me they are closed asked me what I needed. Told him my reservation and he said oh yeah, I tried calling you, we dont have any vans available, I tried leaving a voice-mail but said it was full. Mind you I have not got any missed calls and I confirmed that my voice-mail was not full. So the guy lied and was closing up at 12pm. I saw vans on the lot too. No words

I had a reservation today and when I arrived to pickup my car (10 minutes before my reservation time), no one was there. No answer when calling. I had to get a ride 40 minutes away to the airport in order to get a rental car. Terrible.

Is it customary to accost and record customers? You all clearly have forgotten the values of customer service. Your practices of racially profiling are abusive and deeming and I cannot believe you all are allowed to represent a company. I’m assuming these practices are taught in training because this behavior was praised and upheld by your coworkers. Suban I hope you learn the true meaning of customer service and human decency and learn to be an advocate for what’s right and not a perpetrator for what is wrong.

I arranged the rental online from MA for when we got to NC. Everything was ready for us even though we arrived a few hours early. The employees were very kind and the vehicle was clean and just what we requested. Thank you!

Awesome employees and its probably my favorite car rental company. This location though leaves a lot to be desired. The lot is way, way too small and selection is pretty poor. I am usually having to leave my car parked on gravel or in a mud puddle because there is no paved lot spots. The lake Norman area is large enough to support a larger Hertz.

After dealing with this Cornelius, NC agency for a week, I would not recommend them to anyone. The manager is rude and obnoxious. Their cars have been smoked in and they try to force you into taking it anyway. The ONLY reason I went with them is because the person who damaged my truck has State Farm and they use Hertz. I will INSIST upon Enterprise next time. Save yourself time, money and aggravation and avoid this agency.

New location is better than the last. Little difficult to spot the first time but give them a try!

Not thrilled I got a car that wasnt clean, gum on everything, glass and interior surfaces are dirty. Atleast its only for a day.

Reserved on website for THIS location, was put in cheap compact- exactly what I wanted. I needed to be picked up from home, didn’t see that option so called location. There I’m told all they have is an expensive SUV, no compacts. Asked about discrepancies, was told computer not right.Sure.Computer-based inventory would be inaccurate.Fishy. Going elsewhere.

A small place with not so good parking. Slopy downhill with pebbly floor. Staff was helpful but it seriously needs renovation regarding the parking lot. It is next to Statesville roads so it easily reachable.

Hertz customer care is very slow! It took 6 weeks to reverse an errant charge by Hertz. The car was horrible with multiple issues (seat belt, radio, filthy, pulled at highway speeds). The local agent was so horrified by the car that she promised me a partial refund. Instead I was errantly hit with a very large fuel charge. I had proof I filled up the tank yet it still took Hertz 6 weeks and multiple reminders from me to fix the errant charge.

Untrustworthy swindlers! State Farm referred me to Hertz while my car was in the shop for a week. The manager did my paperwork and assured me that everything was covered under my insurance, including the gas if I used their full tank service, he even made a joke of it. Well, it was not covered by my insurance and I got a charge of almost $47 for gas - I didnt even use a half of the tank and there is a gas station across the street! SWINDLERS! When I called, I got the run around. No one was calling me back and when I finally spoke to the manager he LIED saying that he never told me that it was covered under insurance and gave me more of the run around.NEVER DEAL WITH THIS PLACE! They are LAIRS! SWINDLERS! CROOKS!

We rent from this location several times a year and contrary to the previous review we have been totally happy with the service. The staff always remembers us by name and does their best to accomodate our requests every time. This is truly a local edition. They are like neighbors.

I dont typically write reviews but I am very impressed with this location. We had a car while ours was being fixed. They brought it to the dealership and were extremely courteous. I also forgot my sunglasses and they went out of their way to make sure I got them back!

I needed to rent a car urgently and didnt have a credit card, as most of the rental agencies demanded, thats when i rung up this location of hertz and the Gentleman over there asked me to come over and immediately had some kind of credit check run and instantly rented me the vehicle with my debit card. The vehicle was nice and maintained well,with a reasonable cost/day as well, with ideal insurance rate.Would definitely recommend this agency to anyone looking to rent a car at an ideal price and without hassle if you dont have a credit card.Would definitely come back for my future needs.

Cars are filthy. Rental car bussiness has gone way down hill. Better off with Enterprise. Ins paid for this or I would not have chosen Hertz.

I rent cars here frequently. The staff has always been very helpful. I rented a few times from the Enterprise up the street and had bad experiences there so I switched to the Hertz LE and have been satisfied since.

Picked me up from work and had the best prices around.

We rented a van from here and we was not happy. It had mud on the floor stans on the sets and smelled like crap. I had to take it and cleaned it up. I will not rent a car from here again. Oh and my wife is a travel agent so it dont look good. I would put no stars if I could....

Car was great didnt havd any problem with car or while returning it.. Only thing i didnt like was payment because when i booked online it show charge of $98 +tax and when i went to pick up they charge me $102 +tax.. I knw it jst $4 different so im ok with tht but dnt understand why they have 2 different price.

I came in wearing work clothes. They asked me twice for SSN, asked for debit and credit cards, and at the end said that both my cards were declined. I had to go to the airport to get the car at enterprise. Moreover, somehow Hertz deleted my previous negative comment.

Was on the call list to get a bigger car and a week later no one ever called. Was stuck driving a tiny car that was scary to drive.

BEWARE !!!!! DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!!! The staff are incompetent, cars are junk, and the management is helpless! They charged the wrong amount to the wrong card and then said it would take two friggin weeks to fix it! STAY AWAY!
