They gave us a disgusting unclean vehicle, in a calls smaller than we reserved. The lack of basic customer service skills is unreal. They showed us nothing about the vehicle and cared less that we were unhappy about the cleaning standards ESPECIALLY with Covid. We have rented from enterprise and they always go above and beyond for their customers we will not make the mistake of renting from hertz again! When we reached out to the regional manager he could not even so much as apologize, I guess poor customer service and cleaning standards is the company moto.

Leaves you stranded...We had a car reserved weeks ago for a medical business trip. We showed up to pick it up and they had no cars available, even though there were seven in the lot. They said to come back in a couple hours. We waisted time around town with a tired 4 year old.When we went back they told me that a reservation is not guaranteed and there would not be a car. People passed me turning in keys. Those cars “had to be serviced.” They refused to give me the contact for someone in charge.

Staff that greeted me was rude and arrogant. Prices are ridiculous! I will never use Hertz again. I recommend any other rental agency or even rental available at dealership before choosing Hertz. I would drive to Nashville to the airport and use any other car rental without a doubt.

Hyundai rented a vehicle for us. Our Santa fe was in the shop. Hertz put us in a Nissan versa. Its way to small. Hyundai has called and asked for a bigger vehicle and so have we. I have never seen a place with excuses. They could of they wanted to. I wont every rent from hertz.

Well I booked a car almost 2 months ago. On the day I was supposed to pick it up I received an email confirmation at 8am confirming the reservation. I got there at 8:05 and they told me they had no car available. Then they gave me a number to call for a refund….. 7-10 business days!!!!! They got a 1 star because I had to!!! Luckily Nissan of Cookeville saved the day!!! I’ll NEVER book with Hertz EVER!!! Also the 2 gentleman working didn’t even care to help me I felt like I was an inconvenience. Shameful!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would! I had reserved a car with Hertz and paid for the insurance 3 weeks prior to my rental date. I called to confirm my reservation the next day and 2 days prior to arrival. The day I was supposed to rent the car and go on vacation, Hertz calls to inform me that they do not have a rental for me!!!!! This is Hertz in Cookeville TN, So I didn’t have a car on top of the fact that I have not received my money back for the insurance! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental company, I called Enterprise (after the call saying Hertz didn’t have a car ), and got a car the same day! Stick with Enterprise folks!

I have rented from this location at least 5 times over the previous 2 years. I have found the service to be friendly and helpful. Great AAA discounts. I would recommend.Just have them check the tire pressure according to the dash before driving away.

Do not book with Hertz in Cookeville. I booked a month ago and they called the day before my trip saying they had no cars available. There are plenty of cars listed on their website. The customer service rep from the store said that they list a bunch of cars that don’t represent what they have available. He also said he would not call any other Hertz places nearby to see if they had cars available. Horrific business practices. Zero stars for customer service and for Hertz in general.

Called to rent car while mine was in shop. I told them prices and vehicles that I was seeing on their website but wanted to talk to a person instead they were able to get me in a car a little cheaper and better car than what I had been looking at. I arrived next day the time I told them they had everything ready to put in computer and went out side to let me look at car, didnt take but about 15 minutes and was the same when I return the car.

Reserved a car online. After driving an hour to pick it up, I was told they didn’t have any available. So I can understand that considering it was the Saturday after thanksgivings. The reason I am leaving such a low review is because the young man that stated I saw your reservation when I got here this morning, but never even attempted to call me to let me know. He even stated he had been there for over an hour. The second complaint is when we asked about another hertz nearby he stated he didn’t have time to look. There was one customer behind me. We even just asked for their number and he stated again that he didn’t have time. Poor poor customer service. My boss would fire me if I told a customer I don’t have time. Luckily 2 mins down the road I got a more expensive car rental for a cheaper priced then what I was going to pay hertz. Car dealers are so much better

My experience with Hertz in Cookeville was the best service I’ve ever received from any company!! I had to deal with some personal issues during my time with my rental and the manager (Darian) went above and beyond to help accommodate me! I was blown away by his professionalism and his genuine concern to resolve my problems. I would HIGHLY recommend Hertz to anyone looking to rent a vehicle!

Do not book 3rd party and think they will rent you a car. Because they will tell you they do not have any 3rd party cars available then customer can walk in and book through hertz and have a car.

Dont call 30 mins before closing because they put you on hold deliberately. I had to go in person to speak with a person. Hard to do when you need a car. Thats just wrong to treat business that way. But the guy who set me up did fine.

Great customer service from Skylar! He picked me up from the collision center and returned me when my car was finished at the collision center. I had many questions due to it being the first time I rented a car, and he was very patient and thorough with his answers. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

ID RATHER RENT A CAR FROM ISIS THAN FROM HERTZ. I needed a vehicle for a military trip. I booked it a few days in advance, but called the day of to say Id be 45 minutes late, but I was definitely coming. I was told that they were short cars so would have to charge me extra to hold it.... I looked online to see if I could get something somewhere else. The same place had the same car and at a cheaper rate than what I had originally booked it at. I had free cancellation so I called back explained it and said Im just cancelling it. Well I was agitated and almost went with another company, but I didnt which turned out to be a mistake. I thought maybe it wasnt just bad business/ service and booked the same car online for 20 cheaper than originally. I booked it for 6pm online because it was an option. I showed up approximately 5:55 and the doors were locked. The guy behind the counter saw me and scurried to the back where him and another guy hid in the office.... I knocked a few times and watch the time tick until the scheduled closing time. I thought maybe they were coming back out, but when realized they werent I tried calling Hertz customer service and they called the store and couldnt get an answer. I traveled an hour to get to this store... now I have to travel 2 hours the opposite direction just to find an open place (airport). I have an early report/ formation time and have to drive through the night. I travel constantly for the military and usually go with cheaper rates, but Id pay extra for a place with decent customer service and I will tell everyone I know to.do the same. Thought maybe its just this store but the call center is equally worthless. I have never seen a business run like this.... close early and leave someone with a reservation who showed up before the reservation time just standing outside... then run and hide in the back.

I lost my car in an accident and the insurance company was paying for a rental since it was the other parties fault. I was also starting a new job, so as hectic as this all was, It was so nice to meet the guys here and have them be as helpful as they were. I absolutely enjoyed working with everyone there. The guys working in the front were awesome and very helpful. The only negative is that I lived pretty far away and had to drive to pick it up AND drive to drop it off. Despite that, a worker STAYED OVER in order to wait for me to get there and even helped me in the office. Theyre amazing!They also had to deal with me, my parents, and my insurance company calling all day so thats even a plus. Thanks so much for helping!The rental car was pretty amazing too. Ive never had an idea to get an Volkswagen Jetta until I drove theirs. And I honestly miss that car a lot.

I had to rent a car when my car needed a new heater core and the garage I had to take it to had to wait for the part so I rented a car from here. I walked right in with no reservation and got a car right away. I wanted a compact but got a mid sized for the same price. Will NEVER go to Enterprise because of the problems I had with trying to rent from them. Who carries a copy of a bill with your address in their car? Not me!!!!!

I had to rent a car while my vehicle was in the shop. Only one gentleman, Thomas, was there at the time. He was cleaning up the cars, managing the phone and the front desk with aplomb. He was courteous and helpful to everyone, and seemed to be totally unruffled by the hectic conditions. Hertz has EXCELLENT customer service, and great prices on car rentals, too.

The people were really nice and helped me with everything. The only thing I didnt like was, I only needed the vehicle for 1 day and when I was returning the Hertz office was going to be closed. So I had to rent the vehicle for the whole weekend. Since I had prepaid on line, they said there was nothing they could do. Other than that my experience was good.

Rented a Hyundai Sonata for 2 days. Car was in a really good condition. They also gave me a drop off service back to my apartment (because the place wasnt too busy at those hours) even though I hadnt booked one. Employees are really nice and friendly. Definitely recommend Hertz!!

My mom was in a bind with unexpected car repairs needed and Darien Tubbs came to her rescue setting her up in a great rental for a fair price. His service and kindness were needed and appreciated during a very stressful time! It was nice to see someone taking care of my mom, I usually try to accompany her to make sure no one takes advantage, but I was please with the honesty and sincerity that Darien displayed during our transaction!

I have had to rent cars due to unexpected traveling and the Cookeville location has been my favorite location. The staff are helpful, polite, and understanding. They are never too busy to pick you up for your reservation and they will also drop you back to your home on your return. Their location is friendly and clean every time. The cars are newer models that are well maintained and clean. The location is convenient to gas stations, the interstate, and on what the locals call Restaurant Row where you can find a variety of good food.

There were issues when I went to get the van that ultimately turned out to be the fault of my bank; however during one of my 3 trips in to the office that day, a woman was waiting and could tell I was having a problem. She looked at me and said “we have had nothing but problems from this office”. She went on to say that she would not rent another vehicle from there again. During the fiasco of trying to get the van, the gentleman helping me made it very clear I had to have the van back by 10am despite not being able to pick it up until 1pm. He said this was because I had prepaid for the van and the office employees are unable to change anything on the prepaid rentals.When returning, Knowing the van had to be back by 10am, I stopped at a gas station and vacuumed the van a bit, knowing it was not perfect but assuming that, for more than $350 a week, Hertz would spend some time cleaning it up. The gentleman checking people was abrupt and rude. He informed me yhe van was a little trahed and I could take it to have it detailed or pay a cleaning fee. I told him that I was told I had to have it back by 10am and he said he could change the time. I took the van, spent an extra $40 to have it detailed. The detail company had it done in 25 minutes. When I got back in the van to take it to the office, I noticed the steering wheel had a greasy texture and the exact same smell it had when I picked it up, leading me to conclude this is a regular occurence.Between my own experience and my conversation with the other woman, I will not be returning.

Reserved a car 1 wk ahead get there to pick it up an they tell me they dont have a car they never gave me a call to let me know or anything but luckily 5 mind b4 they closed at 12pm a gentleman returned a suv an they let us get it for the same price which was nice but they definitely need to figure out how to run there website make sure you call them to reserve a car dont do it online

I rented a car over Memorial Day weekend. The office was incredibly busy, I believe they were even running low on car inventory. Johnnie was the person who handled my transaction. He was very professional handling the multiple customers, washing/cleaning the cars, and delivering them to the customers all. He was the only person in the office, and we could tell he was busier than one person deserved to be, but he never once complained. He delivered far better customer service than I am accustomed to getting in this town. thanks!

Just wanted to say thank you !!!My son went to rent a car this morning at the Enterprise Rental in Cookeville TN. He has been renting cars there since 2007. This morning even though they opened at 7:30 and they were washing cars while we were there they said they would have no cars available until 11:00 am. He needed one this morning first thing. Then he was told they couldnt take his debit card without a utility bill in his name. He doesnt have any bills except a cell phone bill in his name . I just happened to have one with us but because it showed an unpaid balance they wouldnt except it. Then he asked if he could pay with cash and was told no it had to be a card. I was very disappointed with this service, I understand there are rules, policies and procedures that must be followed but this was too much. You cant use cash ?????????????? And especially since he was a return customer since 2007 , he has rented multiple cars , never had this much of a problem. But , it worked out for the better , he went to Hertz , got a car right when he needed it , no hassle and for a cheaper price, so Enterprise lost our business and Hertz gained it. and just so you know I will tell all my friends that use Enterprise to take their business to Hertz as well.

Reserved a car via an insurance claim repair on our primary vehicle. Provided the facility with a weeks notice that we would require the rental at a specific time. Dropped our vehicle off at the collision repair facility and proceeded to Hertz. Hertz had three people waiting in front of us and did not even take our name. Went to breakfast and came back. The backup queue had reduced to two in front. Still no cars and absolutely no customer service skill competency for the staff. Save yourself the headache and disappointment, select a different rental car company.

Great customer service..rented one way..but feel the 200.00 deposit was a complete ripoff. I wasnt told about that a no pet policy in the vehicle. Got charged 150.00 for pet hair after I had cleaned it out myself. Hertz lost my business from now on....

HORRIBLE!! Couldnt have ever been treated worse if i had the option wouldnt give them 1 star!! Reserved our vehicle online went into the office the next day to see what all we needed to bring with us on rental day....they said license debit/credit card and proof of insurance if we had it. Came time for rental day at 3pm got there and they told us they didnt have our vehicle but they had another one for us but only because someone didnt show up to pick it up???? Then they tell us our credit isnt good enough to use our debit???? No one mentioned that when we asked what we needed!! And we were told that unless we had a major credit card or someone could rent it for us with better credit we couldnt have a car! The guy was rude and disrespectful. NEVER AGAIN!!
