I bought a car that was represented with 165,000 miles. When I bought a car fax it said there was as over 250,000 miles. We took this information to the owner of liberty and he got really defensive and said there was nothing he was going to do about it. The choice is, obviously, yours just be aware.

Its a buy here, pay here place, but the Garretts are decent people. The vehicles are relatively decent--buying any vehicle requires a certain amount of know-how, so as long as youre careful, you can avoid a lemon. Pay exactly as agreed and there wont be any problems. Simple.

Matt was extremely up front and honest about the conditions and the origins of the vehicle. The price of the vehicle was spot on with what KBB had it valued at and he assured me that he had a mechanic inspect it for issues. I felt really comfortable making such an important purchase and I love my car!

Spent a day with a friend driving out here to get a vehicle he was promised. The dealership knew we would have to drive out there and still agreed to business with us. An hour into our drive we were told that they decided to sell the car to someone else. It just shows me that this dealership could not care less about integrity and honesty. If you choose to do business with them understand who you are getting in bed with🀒

I purchased a vehicle from Liberty Auto Sales in June of 2018. When test driving the vehicle, it appeared to run smoothly and was in average condition for the mileage, with no warning lights illuminated on the dash. Test drove the vehicle for approximately 5 miles. Decided to purchase the vehicle based on previous searches on the internet, price, and the first impression the staff made (seemed like very genuine, nice, and honest people). After purchasing (paid cash) and halfway through my two hour trip home, I noticed the traction and stability control lights were illuminated on the dash. I continued driving (my mistake) and took the vehicle home, thinking perhaps it was simply common to this vehicle since it was older and high mileage. Our county still requires emissions testing, and upon taking for the emissions test after returning home, was told check engine light was not illuminating at all (during startup cycle or...ever). After pulling the bezel on the dash and inspecting the light, discovered SOMEONE HAD TOTALLY REMOVED THE BULB FROM THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. After replacing the bulb...yep, you betcha--CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. Instant trips to the mechanic to replace oxygen sensors, cat converters, etc. to even be able to pass emissions testing and legally register the vehicle. Mucho $$$$. Cant say for certain this dealer pulled the bulb themselves (as vehicle may have been purchased at auction), but I was told by the dealer that a relative of the dealer used/drove the vehicle for weeks before selling. And their Toyota guy (mechanic) checked it out.Either way, they absolutely knew check engine light wouldve been on had bulb not been removed, and someone had obviously pulled battery cable to reset computer prior to me test driving knowing it would take several miles for computer to reset and illuminate warning lights. Probably the oldest trick in the sneaky dealer handbook, and I learned this lesson the HARD way. Look ...car is old and has high mileage, I get it. And I love to support local, small businesses. But that stunt, was simply bogus. Not cool, not cool!! Shouldve spent a little more and purchased from a reputable dealer. Buyer beware!!! It certainly has cost me.

Be very careful with what you buy here. Customer service is great but the cars can be time bombs. Not to mention that prices here are decent at best. Bought a 2012 Altima and these are the issues I had within the first 2 months:- Oil leak (had to replace oil Cooler seal).- Water leak (had to replace water pump).- Car/Transmission shudder (Liberty had used the wrong CVT Fluid on this cars transmission and we I had to do a transmission flush & refill with proper fluid). In total, I had to spend ~$1500 fixing this car. Youd be better off going to another place where cars are more reliable.

Recently made a deal on a car with liberty auto. We agreed on a price and i told them i would be there later in the day to drive and pay for the car . I live about an hour and a half from cookeville. I Drove over 100 miles before leaving for Liberty auto to collect money and pick up a friend up from work early,so he could go with me and drive my vehicle back. I called matt at 3:00 to make sure the car was still there and told them i was on the way. At approximately 1 hour of driving to liberty auto i got a call to let me know the car i had planned (not only my whole day but a close friend and my families day around )had been sold out from under me twenty minutes before i pulled in. Overall a business with no real integrity. They are only concerned with making a sale , and not taking care of the customer.
