Just an awesome time, my wife and I plus my 8 yr d daughter did the 2.5 hrs trail ride picnic. The guide was Hunter very knowledgeable and made the experience a good one. Until today my daughter had only went in circles on a pony at like 7 acre woods or old McDonalds. She absolutely loved this. The trail was muddy and deep in a few areas but the guide and the horses were great. Would definitely do it again.

We went on a group trail ride and it was great!! The horses were well taken care of and the owners were super nice. Luna the dog was an angel and a cherry on top to our wonderful time with all the horses. Would definitely come back again with friends and family!

This ranch is great! Please note they have moved locations to Vick Cemetery Rd. Their new location is gorgeous and the trails are slowly being expanded to include creek crossing. They are mostly shaded which is great during these hot summer months! Ms Toni is very helpful and great with her animals & customers. Crystal is very knowledgeable and experiencedMy daughter had her socially distant birthday party here this summer and had a great experience - trail ride followed by horse painting which the girls absolutely loved. Highly recommend!

Same day reservation mid week was amazing. Novice riders got a brief introduction to the horses, got seated on top, and we were underway.After some initial hesitation and directional challenges, our guide helped steer one of our party the right way. Wonderful to see a child grow in personal confidence and transition to a wary grin to a beaming smile.I recommend Loveland Ranch as the staff were competent, willing to assist, but encouraging independence and learning as we went.

Nice place to learn to ride, especially for kids that want to learn how to write. The instructors are patient and very understanding if you have a little one as my sister did you should take the time and look to see if it is something that your kid will appreciate and remember, perhaps is something that they will take on and continue doing it for the rest of their lives

My kids have loved a spring camp and summer camp here. They do so much you really get your moneys worth. Kids want to go again. They have trail rides and lessons and great horses

As a first-time rider, I was a bit hesitant getting on top of a powerful animal. Let me tell you what, the workers made my wife and I feel like family and made sure we felt safe. The wife rode when she was a kid and just like riding a bike she was good to go. I was paired up with JJ, a sweet docile giant of a horse. We drove about an hour to Loveland and we are planning on another in the fall. Highly recommend Loveland Ranch.

Took my wife on 3/15/2021 for a 2 hour ride. And we loved it. Everyone there was working to make the experience a great one. Before going in had read the reviews and let me speak to them from what I saw. These are 1500 pound animals so if the guide or someone else tells you to do something put your ego aside and do it. Its for your safety and the safety of the horses. Every person I spoke with yesterday adored the horses and it shows. If you calm down, detach from the moment and listen to the handlers you will have a awesome time. My wife knew next to nothing about riding a horse and it knew only a little bit, we both listened to the advice given and were riding well within 30 minutes. The staff did a awesome job setting us up with a horse that we could handle. Like l said these are 1500 pound animals with minds of their own and even though Honeybun (the horse I rode) wanted to go fast and shake her head she was a very good and well natured horse. In closing if you are on the fence about going get off the fence give them a call and go.

Came for a riding lesson today with Olga. The place was super easy to find. The first thing I was looking at was the horses in the paddocks and their overall condition, and each horse seems to be very well cared for. Then there was a little confusion about the cost of the lesson at first but it was no big deal. Its $60 for an adult lesson, and it was very well worth the money. We did our lesson at a walk, trot, and canter, then went for a short trail ride to cool the horse down. I had an amazing time and with definitely be back for more lessons!

Today was my first horse ride ever & LoveLand Ranch made it such a great experience 🤩 my husband & I had Masha as our guide & she absolutely amazing!! She always kept the convo going with interesting horse facts, or with a little history on some of the horses on the property, and simply just getting to know us along the ride. Everyone was even so friendly -giving us great big smiles & waves as we passed them while riding through the property ☺️ But let’s not leave out our two awesome rides - 🐴 Dollar & 🐴Trigger 2 (whom btw LOVE snacks)

Loveland Ranch was very flexible and accommodating on my last minute request to surprise by daughter with an afternoon trail ride. It has been years since my daughter has ridden. The staff took time to understand experience levels and match us with the best option.Our trail guide was Mosha. She was eager to help and provided my daughter with just enough encouragement.Signage once you enter the property could be improved upon to direct customer to the very end of their private drive to park.Ranch has plenty of room to ride but dont expect a long out and back experience. The ride is a meandering trail throughout the property wherein you might revisit the same sections more than once.

We loved it! I rode from 5 to 25, and since we went to Houston for vacation I really wanted to share this part of my life with my family. I wasnt sure we could find anything since my kids are only 3 and 5 y.o. but we did! With the kids on the saddle, and horses that were chosen to match our respective skills it went very smoothly. My 3 year old even enjoyed jogging and kept asking me to make Dakota run again, and of course walk in puddles... We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

We scheduled a birthday ride for my husband, group of nine. We had some unforeseen hiccups in our party & the owners were very understanding & accommodating. They found a way to make it work; although they had lots of other patrons to attend to. Somehow they handled it all seamlessly & with a smile. Very professional, polite & personable, they make you feel right at home. It was our first visit, but it definitely wont be our last! The animals are well kept & they have a nice stretch of land that feels welcoming (those that connect with nature will understand what I mean by that). Everyone in our group had a great time! Thank you Loveland Ranch for a great experience!

The trial was shaded and comfortable on a sunny day. The horses were beautiful and well mannered and our guide, I forgot her name but a young girl that appeared to be middle school aged, was patient and helpful. We got lucky and had the 4pm trail to ourselves, my fiancé and I. We will be returning

My boyfriend and I went here for an hour trail ride. Our guide was Krystal, and she was so awesome! Super talkative and really nice. Talked to us about the history of their ranch and all their rescues they do. Definitely going back for some serious ridding! Highly recommend coming here, they offer everything, from beginner riders to experienced.

My husband and I had a blast and an amazing experience riding horses out at this ranch 2 days ago. We had a 1 hour ride with Mr. Harvey who was so sweet. We also had photos of us taken through out the ride which were lovely. The rates are very reasonable and the horses are all very friendly. Our appointment started exactly on time. We are definitely gong to g back back again and recommend this ranch for others to visit. Thanks Mr Harvey for such a great horse ride !

Awful expirence I finished my trip and was in the middle of paying and the Owner Started demanding I leave a tip they dont offer you even a water and scream about leaving them money ....no thank you I felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable

I have been here a few times and have always had a great time. The handlers are professional, friendly and helpful. You get a lot for your money on the trail rides. They take you through scenic areas, sometimes through a little water, which is fun, and theyre really great with the horses. If youre wanting a relaxing, fun trail ride, this is the place. Nothing fancy here, but whats important to me is that all of the animals who live here are well cared for and they appear to be happy, from the horses down to the chickens and even the pig!

We celebrated Father’s Day here today and we had a wonderful experience . The leadership was impeccable and the horses followed directions. We can’t wait to visit again.

My name is paige and I do camps used to lease horses and do trails!! I love to ride trigger#1 and rain :) sometimes I like to go a step higher. I do not know what the bad reviews are about!! If you think you can ride and said in your comment about hate towards them, (like 30 years or more like a comment said) than I suppose you were just fine and didnt need to worry!! I dont think you could run as easy as them!! I love loveland!!

Such an amazing time and experience! For first time riders intermediate and experiened too! Even for children.... The love of horses is truly amazing .... So great for people with ptsd!! Most of their horses are rescues and all have a story .... Why not go out and meet them!! The prices are amazing and all go to feeding the rescues !!All staff are volunteers and work off tips!! 1 hour walk rides ($40 per person/horse ..3 to 6 kids ride in saddle) 2 hour walk trot and some slight running if everyone is comfortable ($70 per person /horse) and even 2.5 hour picnics available 1 hour on half hour picnic and 1 hour on again ($100 per person/horse)!! They also provide lessons 4 and up adults riding lessons barrel lessons .... They are a western only facility and most if not all horses are one hand reigned!!! Hope you all have an amazing trip to Loveland ranch!!

They have great horses and people working. they are all friendly and nice. My son that is 2 was able to spend some time with a pony and learn more about nature while enjoying the ride. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and every age that want to spend some time out from the city and have a relaxing trail ride.I will definitively come back again.

The owner was very nice, the wrangler...not so much. About a block from the stable, on the way back, he turned around and yelled at me for stopping my horse and allowing a vehicle to pass on the street he and another rider had crossed. When I calmly mentioned the pick up truck was not stopping he blamed me for the vehicle not stopping(??!!!). I am a rider with 30+ years experience and never challenge vehicles when riding. There was no crosswalk and by stopping I caused no problems. That seemed beyond unnecessary it was rude and flew in the face of good common horsesense. Earlier he criticized me for riding slightly off the trail. He failed to recognize or care the horse following him (ridden by a novice) pinned its ears and kicked at anyone getting too close. I was riding a gaming horse that had issues walking calmly so I had to constantly check his speed. When crossing a field I let my mount drop his head and WALK at his pace hoping it would relax him a bit. I was riding (at a walk) about 3 feet off the trail and well behind the wrangler when he took exception to this. I was quiet the entire ride, not complaining, so I found the wranglers commentary surprising, unnecessary and petty. I wish the ranch and horses the best so will not engage in picking at any other concerns.

What an incredible ranch! An absolutely phenomenal taste of Texas, in a friendly and relaxed environment. Crystal was an excellent guide, very carefree and fun. They gave us free cowboy hats and a big dish of food, on the house. By our 2nd hour we were already hitting full gallops. I most definitely look forward to my next trip to Houston. This time it will be the 5 hour ride please :) Thanks for a great afternoon!

I have been boarding my horse at Loveland Ranch and enjoyed riding the trails for years. So wonderful to have such a great riding opportunity in the city! My horse changed within weeks after being in Ms Tonis care from a nervous little mare (that I used to spent hours catching!) into a happy little trail horse that cant wait for me to take her out. It makes me very happy to see her so well taken care of and relaxed. Always a pleasure to be at Loveland Ranch!

We visited Loveland to enjoy the trail rides.9 (including 5 kids) of us are very beginners ( actually 4 out of 9 were the first time to ride horses) but all of us really enjoyed the time and scenery. Guides, all of horses, and accompanying dogs are perfectly gentle for us. I strongly recommend here to ride horses!!

It was an awesome time. We went for an hour and couldn’t resist picking up the second hour option. Crystal, our instructor/leader was great! Very tolerant, fun, and patient. Then when we got back to the ranch we were well taken care of- given drinks and a huge pot of food! Can’t wait to go back for the 5 hour ride!

I must begin with stating that our guide was very kind, and tolerated me (an experienced rider) and my husband (an inexperienced rider) well. This is important because I know the following is not a reflection of how we were treated. We had pleasant conversation and there were no issues with our interactions.Loveland Ranch has 90+ horses in their care. However, care might be a strong word here. The horses were kept in pretty poor conditions, making their health and well-being a concern. As a visitor, this can be very uncomfortable. Furthermore, time did not seem to be a concern of the ranch. We made reservations for a 9 am ride and did not begin riding until around 10 am, and I think it was simply because we were there, not because anyone had checked any reservations. We were pretty patient with this as we were in no rush, but many others might find this to be an issue. It might have been good to have some warning about what we were going to ride through (deep water did not bother me but my husband was a little harried by it), though this isnt a serious issue. Ultimately, the time, environment, and conditions of the ranch were most concerning, resulting in this review. I really wish I could be more generous, but the issues were too important to overlook.

I had a great time on the 5 hour trail ride! There is a nice lunch break to stretch your legs and for the horses to rest some and graze. Thank You!

OH Man! I got to ride Buttercup! She was so sweet and so much fun. I went on a 5 hour trail ride with a stop to eat lunch last Saturday. I havent gotten to ride like that since I was a kid. I may have caught the bug again! I am already considering ways to clear my calendar and get regular riding sessions in. My only complaint, if you can consider it that - I was told to be there right when the ride was scheduled to leave. This was my first experience with Loveland Ranch and tips on what to expect would have been welcomed. I didnt get there early like I would have liked because I thought I was already getting there with enough time but it worked out anyway and I am hoping to return soon! Very enjoyable experience! I would recommend!

This has been by far the worst trail ride I have ever been on. I was expecting to be taken out in the beautiful Texan country side, but instead we walked around the neighborhood for 4 hours with a one hour break at the local mall. I did not sign up for a trail ride past the local Burger King.Add the poor condition that the horses are kept in and i can honestly say that wasn’t the “5 hour special” i signed up for.The only saving grace was our guide who was very nice and clearly knew what she was doing.

I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now and love the family environment and love everyone there! Me and my girls have been riding there for a lil over a year we love it! We have also purchased our horses there and board them there as well . I’ve never had a bad experience ! It’s always fun and everyone is always very helpful and friendly ! Bringing my family and friends there to come ride as well 😊 everyone treats you like family there . And all the staff is very knowledgeable and are always willing to help . There is some awesome trails too there ! Very scenic !

I took my daughter because it was her birthday wish . Sad to say the lady was not polite she was very rude and expected you to know how to control the horse , After I explained to her my daughter was only 8 yrs old and had never rode a horse . She had a smart remark . I wouldn’t waste my money here again . I’d go elsewhere where they’re atleast polite !

We went on the 5 hour trail ride yesterday! My husband had never been riding before and our 13 yr old had been once. The horses and staff were great! Even for non-experienced riders this is a great place to try. Will definitely return! :)

Loveland Ranch was a great time! Our tour guide brought us through sand, grass, woods, even water where the horses swam! Owned by very down to earth folk, the ranch shows the same. When we got back & I discovered my phone was gone, the owner took me on her four-wheeler to go look for it- and thank God we found it! They were so nice to help & showed us a fun time, would come back again.

Kids Love it. It is very fun and the woman guide explained well everything to the kids in their own words. You can pay with credit card. If no answer by phone. Use Google map and visit place to make an appointment and if possible ride at the moment.

We did the 5 hr Sunday ride today. It was worth it! The horses were beautiful and well behaved. Everyone at the ranch was friendly and helpful. I would go again! Wear jeans you dont mind getting dirty, bring a wide bring hat, sunscreen!, and lots of water. Most of the ride is in the sun.

We went on a three hour trail ride for two, and it was amazing! Our guide was very helpful and chose horses best suited for our riding experience. I would highly recommend this to my friends and family. We had such a great time, we are going again!

I have been around horses my entire life, my girlfriend wanted to go trail ride so we found this place being close to our cabin. You hear about a lot of mistreating of the animals, but the first thing i did was walk the property and look at as many horses as I could. They all were at an ideal weight and their feet were taken care of. The owner Ms. Toni was very friendly and our guide was a very sweet and talkative young lady who knew a lot. I would recommend this place to any family and i know our family will be back!

Toni was our guide and I cant even begin to tell you how amazing she was and how much fun we had. It was our first time riding in a very long time and she was very patient with us. This was one of the funnest experiences Ive had in a long time and a lot of that was thanks to Toni. I highly recommend that you give this place a try, you seriously will have a blast. What an amazing and memorable time! My friends were visiting from Boston, and wanted to do something really Texas - go horseback riding. I called Loveland Ranch at 11:30am, and Mrs. Toni was able to accommodate us the same day at 12:30 - perfect! Mrs. Toni had the horses saddled when we arrived, and took us on the best horse back ride I have ever been on. It was a bit over an hour, and we saw a lake, went thru a river, and had a fantastic time. Mrs. Toni was even kind enough to take pictures of us on her phone during the ride and send them to us (as our phones had either died or had no storage space available). After our ride Mrs. Toni handed us a bucket of carrots and said we can feed them to the horses on the property.It was an amazing afternoon, and one that I will never forget. The horses even galloped for a little (if you dont want them to gallop, they wont..but we wanted them to!)Thank you so much Mrs. Toni and the Loveland Ranch staff! It was such an amazing experience.

Great trail and the owner is friendly. Our trail leader, a young lady, spent the first 15 minutes of the ride on her phone and had some major drama going on that apparently required her to yell loudly over the phone. She wasnt vulgar, but it wasnt exactly relaxing or a good impression for the 2 kids in our group. I would recommend if she wasnt the trail leader.

The tour was so great! It was my first time on a horse and the patience the staff had was awesome! I also made the horrific mistake of taking my wallet on the trail, which I lost! However, they went absolutely above and beyond and went out back out to look for, and find, my wallet! The horses are gorgeous and a fantastic job was done pairing my family and I up with our perfect match! So glad our first experience was made here! Thank you so very much Loveland Ranch!

Upon our arrival, while waiting to get on the horses we noticed the lead horse acting funny; she was stomping her feet and kicking dirt, standing with her legs kind of open, but we were told she just misses the other horses she was boarded with. When we got on the horses to ride and as we were beginning the ride I immediately knew something was wrong of how the horse was acting; he was adamant about getting to the lead horse, he was biting at her and trying to kick her. We were then advised that the lead horse was in heat. We didnt even get 15 minutes into the ride because the male horse I was on started acting up so bad trying to get to the lead horse that was in heat. They kept telling me to pull back on the reigns to make him stop, but the horse was not listening I had no control over the horse. Its like putting a female dog in heat in front of two Male dogs, theyre going to act crazy and youre not going to be able to control them!!!! They should have knew better than this, they couldnt even control him when they hooked my horse to the lead rope!!!! I could have gotten thrown off and seriously injured or killed if the horse had tried mounting the lead horse while I was on it. I am very displeased with the service!!! If they are going to be in that business then they should have more knowledge about horses and horse behavior!!!! They knew we were inexperienced and they did not care about our safety!!!! After we got back we walked around looking at all the other horses and there were more way calmer horses than the ones we had. We were ripped off charged for the whole hour and we barely got around the corner not even 15 minutes!!!! Wish I could give zero stars!! FOR ANYONE INEXPERIENCED GOING HERE OR ANYWHERE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON HORSE BEHAVIOR AND MATING SO YOULL KNOW THE SIGNS AND YOULL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.

The people here are extremely nice, and took us out last minute. The guide that took us out, was very nice and helpful. We are bringing our girls back this weekend. They have so many different horses, one for everyones liking.

Love this place!! Ive rode many times before, but never learned how to tack or un-tack a horse, like I have here. You get to learn so much about how to ride and just the general basics of taking care of a horse in a very friendly environment. The horses are all very well taken care of, and everyone seems very knowledgeable of what they are doing. It is also very kid friendly. If you go in the summer I would definitely recommend to bring plenty of water. They have water there and are more than happy to give you some, but always be prepared. The Texas heat will do stuff to ya! I would strongly recommend Loveland Ranch for any and all of your horsey needs!

Took the wife horseback riding for her birthday today and I must admit it was great. They are kid friendly and very kid service. Nothing fancy but def worth the money and the horses were great. We did the trail ride service.

If you are not an experienced rider, READ. I have mixed feelings about this place, while I enjoyed a little more freedom to trot around on the horse, the overall experience was not great. First, I have some concerns for some of the horses who basically live in the mud such as the dwarf horses. I am fully aware that stables are not the cleanest but these little horses were in mud up to their knees and there was a large pool of water with a thick bright green layer of algae growing on it. It had rained a lot this week but still, they could put down hay or something for them. All the water bins were filled with what looked like algae, not sure if that’s ok enough for horses but I’m sure they would like sanitary water bins.Second, the horse named Willy, DO NOT RIDE. On a scale of 1-10, the highest being an experienced rider, I’m probably a 5 having grown up around horses in Alabama. This horse would NOT do what I tried to get it to do. That being said, I know they are animals and we can’t expect them to just operate how we want all the time, but if you know this horse is stubborn and headstrong and will try to buck you off, WHY would you let a customer ride that horse. The horse stopped every 5 steps to eat and I couldn’t get it to pull up to save my life. It really made me nervous every time it tried to canter because it tried to buck me off once or twice. Third, I took my husband for his birthday, he has never riden a horse. Our trail guide gave him absolutely no instruction on what to do or how to handle the horse. I had to tell him how to ride with the horse when we trotted so he wouldn’t get hurt and I had to show him how to handle the horse. Thank god his horse was better tempered than mine though. Also, our trail guide never introduced himself, we didn’t even know his name until halfway through the trail and he never bothered to ask ours. So, yeh, for the price and to have a little freedom to trot and canter, it was OK. However we will not return, best to stay with better trained horses for a smoother ride.

Best trailriding experience Ive ever had. The guides are fun and helpful, the trail isnt to hard for a beginner, and the horses are so friendly!!They let you trot for a bit if you want, and theres no riding in a boring straight line. Also you only go with your group, they dont mix you in with strangers. Definitely check this place out if you want a fun riding experience!

I went to watch a friends children run barrels at a barrel race and saw so many things that were wrong! This Ranch put kids and horses lives in danger in every direction you looked!People pulling the horse trailer did NOT use the correct ball for the hitch, So the trailer was NEVER hooked up driving down Hwy 45!!!I do Not want to forget the people pulling the horse trailers plus having children in the truck were drinking alcohol all day at the barrel race!! These were also older adults (in their early 40s late 50s)

My husband, 3 month old daughter and I visited Loveland Ranch the day before we flew back home to Canada. I called the morning of to inquire about a possible trail ride even though it was very last minute. The lady asked how big the group was, and I indicated that it would only be myself as my husband would have to stay back with our daughter. At this point I thought to myself theres no way this is going to happen especially after she asked how big of a group there was. To my surprise, she asked what time I would like to go - I was thrilled. Everyone at Loveland Ranch was super friendly and the horses and trails were beautiful! Another thing worth mentioning is that my guide was fantastic and tons of fun .. just an animal lover doin her thang! My husband threw her an extra $20 because he could simply tell I had the time of my life! We will definitely be back!

We road Dakota and Mr.T....... Our guide was awesome and horses behaved perfectly on our 1 hour trail! Highly recommended

If I could give no stars I would. The owner is not someone you want around your children. As a mother myself I would never send my child somewhere that the adult, that is suppose to be overseeing activities, actually gives underage children alcohol. A lot of bullying happens here as well. The trail guides act very unprofessional while out on rides. The horses are great, its the people that own and work there that I am disappointed in. If you decide to go please dont leave your children there alone and left to the supervision of the owner. It is just not a safe or nurturing environment for kids.

Horrible service. We were told that we were able to ride hour and 30 minutes but instructors horse wasn’t acting right so we had to leave and he owner said we couldn’t ride anymore and won’t refund us

My daughter and grandkids have been going to the ranch for a long time , horse back riding, riding lessons, I’ve had the opportunity to come and see the ranch on various occasions and watch how much fun my grandkids have when they are there. They love miss Toni! They talk about her all the time 🙂 This is a place you can bring the kids . Everyone there that works on the ranch has always been very friendly and always willing to help . They make it fun to learn all about horses , my grandkids have learned so much since coming there . I feel safe in knowing they go to this ranch they are very professional and put my grandkids safety first always .

Toni Coates was very rude. We booked at this filthy place and because we didn’t schedule 24 hrs in advance we were refused a refund. This place is not worth the price and they are very unorganized. Will never return.

The more we rode there, the greedier they became. We finally decided to buy our own horses so we can ride anywhere and anytime we want.

Not somebody I would trust with kids or horses. Owner was arrested for DUI while causing a traffic accident with her grand child in the company truck with video of her trying to flee the accident scene.

They are aswome if you ask me my favriote horse is a dorke and his name is jasper_a barrel racer

The people here are so mean and i got yelled at for something i did not even do so i would not recommend it! Owner keeps multiple horses in a pen( way to many like 5 in a single pen) she is a bitter mean person and never got any where while i was there i really recommend Saddle brook!
