I loved this gym while I was going here. It was a very well kept gym, the weights were always where they were supposed to be. They would also keep the workout area and the locker rooms very clean. Staff is nice and is always willing to help you.Although there were two problems, the first being that when I was signing up they said I could bring my younger sibling with me to workout. When the time came I was not allowed to because “he is not 18.” The second problem I have is that they require you to sign a contract guaranteeing that you will sign up for the membership for a specific amount of time. I was signed up for 1 1/2 years and I moved. I was stuck paying the membership for 4 extra months.

I will give a good review because the gym is awesome. Everything is really good. Unfortunately I was told that the sauna was going to be fixed soon. So I signed up. And sauna still doesn’t work. And I am sure they won’t fix it. I would be lying if I said the gym is terrible. It’s not. It’s just I was told sauna was coming. And it’s not.. I don’t want to ask anymore because I’ve asked plenty of times. If a solution was coming they would of put a date on it. It sucks that the sauna was a key thing they pushed during sign up. And once I was in. Asking info about the sauna just to get eyes rolled. I feel I got played because everyone says the sauna was Great!

I read all these lower reviews and I just feel they don’t read their contracts or pay attention when signing up. This place is amazing. The daycare is wonderful, even with turnover they manage to create a safe happy environment for my 18mo. The front desk are always happy to greet anyone coming and going. They’re always informative on whatever new event/sign up bonus they got going on. Haven’t experienced the trainers/classes but I see them always full or having someone to train. Clientele look like they are getting results with putting the effort in. Been here quite a while and absolutely amazed they keep up the 100% effort/upkeep everyday. Thanks a lot fitness PROJECT Conroe Conroe. Keep it up!

Front desk staff are the epitome of professional. They are attentive and always greeting me with a smile. Canyon is just as friendly as well! The place is clean and well kept and the machines and equipment are always safe and refurbished. Whenever a machine does have an issue it is solved ASAP

I have been coming to this location since it was Golds Gym about 5 years ago. Now that it is Fitness Project, I cannot recommend this gym enough! The staff is AMAZING! Super friendly and welcoming, and I love that I see familiar faces everyday who are happy to say hi. The gym is constantly being cleaned, which is reassuring. I look forward to working out everyday now. 10/10 recommend!!

This is more than a gym, it’s a community. After going to several different gyms in the area I now call Fitness Project my “home”Good equipment, friendly staff, and all members are respectful and encouraging towards one another. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a place to stay fit, stay connected, and feel a sense of community.A notable mention should also be the childcare facility is fantastic. All the ladies are nurturing and truly stay involved with the kids. My daughters first words everyday after school are asking if we can go to the gym!

I’ve been going to this gym for years and the quality of service has never changed, it’s excellent. You will always be greeted with a smile. The gym is constantly being cleaned when I am there. Bathrooms are always spotless. You get used to seeing the same smiling faces and everyone respects each other.The sauna is a plus! A great place to relax. When my kids attend the kids club they are well taken care of and enjoy their time!

Favorite gym to go to! Staff is so friendly. They have a variety of everything and keep the place clean. If I could change anything about this gym it would be to stay open later on the weekends but that’s just cause I love spending all my time there. The manager Canyon is such a friendly awesome person. The gym is clean and has lots of great machines as well as classes!Beyond the gym being a great facility, the employees here are very welcoming and nice!Specifically, Carley! Awesome gym no matter where you stand in life. My kids love the play care! I pick them up from school everyday and they ask if they can go “workout”. The girls are amazing with them. Front desk is super encouraging, and the body scans help them direct you to workouts that best fit your needs.

Ive had a membership since 2004 - essentially 2 months before Golds gym opened. I had to renew (I guess b/c its new ownership), and they were gonna waive two months membership fees - but then hit me with a 53 dollar processing fee. Then they wanted a 40 dollar annual cleaning fee. Then they wanted over two dollars for each month for a credit card processing fee unless I gave them my bank account information. I was gonna get a basic membership and the credit card processing fee was more than 10 percent of the basic fee (20 dollars a month). I was going along until they hit me with the forty dollar cleaning fee. I guess if they had been upfront and said its x amount per month, Id of been fine with it. I DID NOT appreciate advertising one fee, then tacking on expenses so that it was actually another fee. I left half way through the sign up process. I must add that one guy said its my fault for allowing my contract to lapse and I said - I wasnt aware that it had lapsed.

Every employee in this gym is super nice. They always have great energy and enthusiasm- but most importantly, they try their best to greet you with your preferred name . I have yet to have a bad experience here & look forward to working out. This place is always clean as well!

I only signed up at this gym for the sauna. Everytime I went in to this gym something was wrong and it never worked properly. Then it burns down and it doesnt seem like anyone is attempting to fix it. So, now Im stuck in a contract and gym I dont like. The sauna has been this way for the better part of the year....RIDICULOUS!!!!!

I workout in the mornings around 5 am during the week since I work in the Conroe area. This place is clean, friendly and a place to get your workouts completed. Everyone is here to get their workouts in. Equipment is clean, working and in great shape.Michelle is amazing. She greets you every morning and treats you like family. Feels like she has known you for years. She greets you by name and makes sure you are taken care of and addresses any needs/concerns. Thanks Michelle for the sincerity and always making me feel welcomed!!!

This is a pretty good gym. I left LA Fitness Signature and came here. One thing I do wish they did had was more squat racks. Its 2 of everything kinda gym. But its always clean. Ive only seen minimal things out of order but they get repaired FAST. Good parking, clean bathrooms, friendly staff.

Fitness Project is an incredible organization! The staff are friendly and welcoming. Not only do they have a wide range of equipment to chose from, they also have a wonderful selection of classes. The classes are a great way to get an incredible workout. The instructors are always eager to help newcomers. They take the fear out of trying new things. Whether you are just starting to workout or have been working out for a while, you will feel at home at Fitness Project.

One of the best gym in the city! Been a member since 2014. The staff are super nice. The facility is well equipped, accomodating and very clean.The play center is absolutely wonderful for parents with little ones. My kids loves the staff in there especially Jessie and Crystal along with the rest of the lovely ladies. They truly do care and love the kids. And the kids safety is their number one priority. Youll definitely feel comfortable leaving your kids in their hands.

I left a review yesterday criticizing the customer service of the manager, Canyon Bruce, and today the review is gone. I sorted by “newest”, I’ve tried going through all the 2-star reviews, and nothing.Keep the 5-star reviews (that you ask patrons and employees to leave to offset the bad reviews), and delete or hide the negative reviews? Sounds like bad, shady business to me.I would like to add that I would give the gym itself, the equipment, cleanliness, and amenities a 5-star review. This 1-star review, and my deleted 2-star review, are solely reflective of my experience with the manager.

Update May 2021: The sinks rarely work, the soap dispensers rarely work, nobody cleans during the day anymore and the personal trainers available are scarce. EXTREMELY MISMANAGED. The Owner or GM has got to get their head out of the sand.

Great clean gym, lots of parking, and the staff is always super nice! Plenty of equipment too so even after work I can always find something open which is awesome!

I visited this fitness center to potentially join and was shocked to see that no one working out was wearing a mask. The front desk personnel had on masks and the door has a sign that says masks required but the said that while working out, people are not required to wear a mask. They stated that they conduct a temperature check upon entry and as long as that checks out, once you are in the fitness area, you can remove your mask while working out. Given the fact that there is a mask mandate everywhere, I was surprised that any business would take a risk such as this. I know there are places you can visit where you can remove your mask at your table/seat but then must wear it to move about but this is different in my opinion as people are exerting themselves physically so inhaling/exhaling near other people. The other gyms I visited require everyone to wear a mask at all times.

Employees are rude. Didn’t even do the 7 day free pass due to the start of communication was bad. Very pushy like they are in need of contracts. No month to month.

My husband and I go to this gym at least 6 times a week in the mornings. We love how the management and team members go around picking up weights and trash around the gym. I do not understand the complaints of management as they have always been nice and kind to us.

My first day going!! I went straight to the ladies lyft area which is AWESOME cause...intimidation. Staff is always super friendly and they have pretty much every machine and class imaginable AND SAUNA!

I really love this gym! I was looking for a gym with a good daycare for my son and they have a WONDERFUL daycare. My son LOVES it there. They are also very understanding if you have any issues with anything. I would highly recommend them!

Staff is very friendly and personal. Equipment is well kept, and facilities are clean. Classes are always full of energetic and supportive trainers that really have a passion for training. If only gym participants could rack weights and put away the machine accessories it would be even better!!

I think that the kids club is great. You have a friendly qualified staff to watch your kids so you can workout. The ladies that work here are too nice. My son loves coming here to play with friends he has made. The space is huge and they keep it very clean.

Sauna’s been out for months, machines are going out left and right. It’s a good clean space with friendly staff but hard to keep a routine with so many machines having issues.

The personnel are very unprofessional. The weights are never organized or re-racked. The dumbells are falling apart as are the Olympic bars. The aerobic machines are poorly maintained and wobble. A fresh coat of paint and new name dont change the attitude of the management. It appears to be systemic.

Great place to work out at and great atmosphere! 🤗 staff is awesome too!!! Overall 5 stars!!!!

We literally had 16 guys who were gonna sign up for a membership but the manager yelled at one of us and only let him do 1 day of his 7 day trial. Pretty sad.

I’ve worked out at several gyms in my life and this is a FANTASTIC gym! I’ve been a member for just over a year. It is very clean and the equipment is top notch! Repairs are done promptly and the staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. Those who complain about their contracts I’d suggest you read them first and clarify any concerns. If you want a gym that’s a true gym not a country club then this is the place to be!

Have been going to Golds for several years now, was skeptical when Fitnesses Project took it over. FP has surpassed my expectations, equipment that would stay broken for weeks on end gets fixed next day or in the same week. Friendly staff, clean environment, and family friendly. I would love to see some new equipment like a belt squat rack, but am impressed with the massive upgrades thus far.

My family and I have been members to this gym for about 4 years now. We are very happy with this gym, there is a wide variety of equipment to pick from. My daughter absolutely loves the kids club. The kids club is well-maintained always clean and the staff is always happy to be there. Melissa the kids club lead has always made my daughter feel welcomed, she now looks forward to going to play at the kids club. We don’t have anything negative to say about this gym. The classes they provide are always fun and up beat, since they have added more classes the hours are more flexible for me to make them. Most of the time when I go Im greeted by Crystal the operations manager, she is a fantastic employee to Gold’s gym. She is loved by everyone and we believe is one of the key essentials of why we love going to this gym.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR PERSONAL TRAINING!! I signed up for it because I had a heart condition and needed professional assistance. Everything sounded good but I missed all the warning signs and I can only blame myself.The first sign was the high turn over rate of personal trainers and managers. Between the time of me inquiring about the service to the time I started, both manager and trainer had changed. All that I was told /promised to me at the time of signing was null and void since none of the parties present still works there.The second sign was not being able to contact their corporate office. This is never a good sign. It simple means no one is willing to take responsibility or uphold any standards. The gym will even refuse to give you their number if you ask.The third sign was... they advertised as a 24 hours gym but fail to inform you of the limitations (this was post Covid 19). If you want a true 24 hours, go to 24 Hours Fitness. They are a lot more professional and cleaner. I had Mike when I was there but changed gyms to be closer home.

Love this place! Good selection of equipment, though I wish there was one more squat rack. Staff and vast majority of guests are friendly. Music is even pretty decent when I dont have on headphones.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. The General Manager is rude, condescending and has no interest in treating the members with any standard of service. Just an FYI, this gym has no chain of command above or beyond their terrible GM so if you have any issue with the GM you want resolved, a google review is really the best you can do. My personal experience has been far below my lowest expectations.

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Ive been a member on and off since 2006, I have been a member at most all of the chain gyms in Texas and have also been a member at some of the smaller mom and pop types. I have never experienced more disrespect than from this company. In March 2020 I received an email stating that Golds was closing down due to COVID, but that they were going to continue to charge me even though they were closed. This should be illegal if it isnt. On top of that in May 2020 Golds gym filed for bankruptcy....How corrupt is that? So in May I shut off my debit card linked to my Golds account, waited a few months until they opened up and went back to negotiate based purely upon the fact that my kids like the daycare and the assumption they will work with me considering what theyve done financially. When I talked to ABC Financial which is Golds processing company he told me Golds already SOLD my account to a collections company!!!! I mean for real, they should just change the name from Golds to Enron. Needless to say I will never be back, and I will use my influence as a long time bodybuilder and trainer to turn as many people away as possible. THE WORST GYM OUT THERE!!!

I love this gym, but as a mom what really sets it apart for me is their Kids Club. Ive been going to this gym for about 4 years now, and I have always felt totally comfortable leaving my kids with the ladies that work in the Kids Club. They go above and beyond with the kids, creating a safe, fun environment for the kids to play so that parents can be at ease leaving them during their workout. Miss Melissa and Miss Jessie especially have always made both me and my kids feel totally at ease and welcome everyday. A good gym is great, and Golds really is a nice gym, but having a place that you can trust will take care of your kids and love on them while youre working out is a total game changer for a parent. Its because of those ladies and that kids department that I wouldnt even consider switching gyms.

Handed the cancellation form to the front desk, 2 months later Im still being billed and they have no record and said they dont deal with paper copies. Yet they still have the forms behind the desk, its just unreal how a place this crooked is allowed to operate. In other words, ANY gym in Texas will be better than them, dont waste your time!

The biggest joke I have ever been too. Complete waste of my time. The owner of this establishment should be embarrassed. Once golds gym turned forever project. Don’t recommend .I guess it’s back to the Woodlands where we can find some class. Crack roe trash.

I would not recommend this gym to ANYONE!!!! Went through the proper steps to cancel my account. received signed email confirmation that the account was canceled and my bank account is still being charged a month later. Now they are saying that there is a $100 early cancelation fee that was never mentioned during the while cancelation process that I went through. No other contacts from fitness project other then the email that the account had been canceled. The additional payments they have taken will not be credited. Very disappointed and upset at this. You will not keep are get customers to return with these type of business practices. If I was informed that a payment for cancelation was needed I could have paid it, but now I feel like money is being stolen from me.

My family has been using this gym for over 7 years (before they changed locations and in the newer location). We like that they have childcare available for up to 2 hours a day for members. Our son loves the jungle gym inside. The staff are friendly, and the gym is organized well, with a lot of machines to choose from. Also, we love the classes provided, as the instructors are nice and fun to workout with. They have a separate womens area to workout in as well.Only major downside (and why I gave 2 less stars) is that the sauna is always over-crowded and the people dont use it properly. There are people that sit in it without a towel to wipe their sweat, and it pours all over the seats and floor, leaving you to sit in someone elses puddle of sweat. Not to mention, people sit there for hours, using it as a hangout area to listen to their loud music. It is a bit frustrating when you go in there to warm up your muscles, and cant even find a place to stand, let alone sit down, and the same people who were there when you got there to workout are still sitting there an hour later.Despite this, we will still use this gym faithfully because we love the instructors, staff, and childs area.

I checked out this location today. It is pretty big. They have a lot of cardio equipment, plenty of free weights and machine weights. They have what you need for most people and most workout programs. They do have a kids club as well which is great. I did not see a pool but they do have a suana. The staff members I encountered were all friendly and the facility was clean.
