We have attempted to use Psych BC but have met life endangering obstacles due to their lack of institutional organization. The local in-take and receptions seem to genuinely care about the patients; however they are not given any resources by the corporate office. The lead time on a call back for a prescription fill is 48 hours to never. Just today alone, we have attempted 7 calls in order to speak with anyone. The previous psychiatrist left the facility due to organizational issues with their corporate office. We have called 15 documented times trying to get a replacement. dating from 4/22 until 6/22.

I have been doing video calls this past year with a Board Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who prescribes just the right medicine for my individual needs. I’m also having separate counseling sessions on video calls from my phone with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This has opened up a new world of possibilities for me as I learn new coping skills with a high quality, professional therapist and counselor. I live 50 miles away from the office, so it is convenient to do both services from home. The staff are all very skilled, experienced and very kind—their medical advice, prescriptions and therapy have allowed me to work and have helped me tremendously on a personal level. I would highly recommend Life Stance Health.

It is really unfortunate that I am writing this, because my experience with PsychBC up until this point has been very positive. I was seeing a psychiatrist there for over a year and she was great. Recently, I had a lapse in my medication and I called to make an appointment, only to find out that my doctor had left the practice. I was never notified about this. I was also told that I will now have to repeat the entire intake process in order to get an appointment and get medication. I have called every day, multiple times a day over the last 10 days. No one has ever picked up the phone. I received a total of 2 calls back, both in the middle of the workday when I could not reasonably answer. I have tried calling back multiple times over multiple days and no one ever answers. Ive tried calling at all hours of the day (when I could get a minute) to make sure I didnt always hit the lunch hour or opening/closing. I am now to the point where Im faced with the tough decision of continuing to push this (to no avail) or go through the process of finding help elsewhere. Of anyone, a psychology clinic should definitely know that when people are seeking support with their mental health, they should not have to over-function in order to get a basic level of care and consideration. Especially when the medical need IS a lack of ability to function. If you are looking for consistent care, I would look elsewhere.

Currently treating with Dr Layne who has literally been my SAVIOR! I’ve never felt more listened to and cared for by a doctor in my life! When I feel like my world is coming to an end he knows just what to say to pick me back up! I’ll never go to anyone else and I feel completely confident in his abilities. I feel so thankful I found him!!!! Also started therapy with Robert Baker and he is also great !!! I love PsychBC, I feel like I truly have advocates and it’s so relieving !

It is really unfortunate that I am writing this, because my initial experience with PsychBC was very positive. I was seeing a psychiatrist (Dr. Boyle) there for months and really enjoyed my visits with her and the care I received. Then, my prescriptions, which used to be automatically refilled and delivered to me, never showed up! I had to wait days for them to refill my meds. I did not feel well at all by the third day. To make matters worse, they did the same thing AGAIN! I was infuriated. Its bad enough that they messed up my life for three days the first time, but then to do it a second time. I felt really messed up the second time. When I called them, I found out on the phone that my psychiatrist left the practice. I was NEVER notified about this. Now I have tried to schedule with a new psychiatrist, but cant be seen until mid-January. I only have 12 days left of medication and I am afraid I am going to have a lapse in medication again.Every time I call this place (even when I didnt have problems with them) I never receive a timely answer, even when I leave a message.I will also add on that they charged me for a follow-up appointment that I never had with a psychiatrist who didnt even work for them at the time of the appointment.Im stealing this from someone elses review because they said it better than I can(we clearly had a VERY similar situation): Of anyone, a psychology clinic should definitely know that when people are seeking support with their mental health, they should not have to over-function in order to get a basic level of care and consideration. Especially when the medical need IS a lack of ability to function. If you are looking for consistent care, I would look elsewhere. Please do not waste your energy or time with these people. The communication is AWFUL and there is clearly a lack of care about patients needs/problems somewhere up the ladder.P.S. Just wanted to reiterate that Dr. Boyle was amazing, but sadly, she is no longer there.

I was a patient there last year. I felt..... belittled I suppose is the best way to put it. I did not feel listened to by my Psychiatrist. He refused to listen to how I was feeling, and also the recommendations made by other doctors I was seeing at the time. When I said I did not like the medication I was on... that it wasn’t helping me like it was supposed to. I was worried that it was doing the opposite. Instead of switching me to a different medication his solution was to double the dose. Sure enough that medication swung me hard the wrong way. I ended up in OSU Harding for an extended stay, after nearly dying of a suicide attempt. The root of the issue being I was on the wrong medication. Needless to say I immediately dropped PsychBC. I hope if you’re having a good experience it stays good. But start to finish I disliked my time as a patient there.

I want to rate this higher than 2 stars but my recent experience with PsychBC has been inexcusable. When my prior psychiatrist left PsychBC, I was told I would be given a new provider for my medications. Not only was I NOT set up with a new psychiatrist, I have to go through the entire intake process again because I wasnt set up with another. Technically, thats an ethical violation of best practice and failing to provide patients with resources. I have medications that I cannot get because of this. I am now without medication and I cant have it until I pay a balance on my account (that I was completely unaware of). I cant even get an appointment without paying the balance.Ive loved every person I worked with in the last 2.5 years at PsychBC. However, this is really unethical and dangerous for patients who need their medication. This was not anything I could control and now I am paying for it. Im going to look elsewhere for my mental health since they have not once acknowledged any of this.

Unbelievable lack of organization and respect for their patients. I showed up to a recent appointment and no one was even in the building. I called the extension to the doctor I was supposed to see, and I was transferred to their call center where they informed me that my doctor was unavailable. The *only* communication I received from PsychBC was two consecutive phone calls early Monday morning when I was asleep — apparently it is impossible for them to email or text their patients at all. I received zero other notification that my appointment was cancelled. This is completely unacceptable for any doctor’s office, especially one that specializes in mental health. What if someone had a far more urgent issue and this happened? It could end up in a disaster. If you care about your or your family’s mental health, I urge you to look elsewhere than PsychBC. They clearly have little respect for their patients, and those dealing with serious mental health issues often cannot wait days or weeks to be rescheduled due to PsychBC’s lack of organization. Their lack of communication and respect is unacceptable, and I will not be returning.

I was a patient for nearly a year, and at the beginning they were helpful and nice. then my provider Sarah Boyle canceled my 8:30am appt at 6:00am that same morning. I show up find out she’s out sick and I have to be rescheduled. Maybe one or two normal appointments and then between another issue. I scheduled an appointment it was written with the incorrect date on the card by the receptionist. I had proof of that, and the front desk apologized, and I asked her to make sure I wasn’t charged for missing an appt that was a staff error. I have a signed letter from my psychbc admitting fault.I wasn’t being charged it was an accident it’s fine it happens right? When things switched over to telehealth during Covid I had one appt and it went smoothly. I scheduled another 3 months out. At the time of scheduling she said they may be changing platforms and they’d email out how to do this.Time came for the appointment 2:00pm At 1:50pm I check my email asking me to confirm my telehealth psychbc appt. on Mon. At 2:00pm. I do. But after that there’s no link or information for how to access my appointment. My voicemail on Saturday Reminding me of appt with psychbc said it would be telehealth appt this coming Monday. So I checked telehealth and NOTHING.I search my email and have 8+ From Tridiuum pairing with Psychbc for upcoming appointments and they’d see me soon. So I click on this most recent email it leads to a very intense personal questionnaire. I fill it out and then NOTHING 2:06pm I call into PsychBC they explain that their appointment is actually on an app called VSee and they’ve had many patients with this same issue. They guide me through getting the app and then to the Psychbc website search my providers name for her personal appt link. I enter the appointment at 2:15pm and I don’t get any message from Sarah until 2:28 saying that because I missed half of my appointment I would have to reschedule.I called in a few weeks earlier asking to be seen sooner than this Monday. This was because in the last 2 months I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and went on a new medication for that issue. I’ve been having mental health side effects and I need my mental medication doses to change. With multiple specialists and Chronic conditions it’s important to have providers that understand the interplay of everything. So it’s not easy to get set up with someone. So when I called back into the office they told me Sarah would no longer see me for non compliance on appointment times. The front desk offered to schedule me with someone else at the office. I asked to speak to Ombudsman office. Left a voice didn’t hear back. Called in Tuesday to schedule with a provider for transferred service, the phone rings and rings. I leave a voicemail on intake line. I call in Wednesday and Thursday and talk to desk staff that say someone should be getting back to me.Yesterday I get a letter in the mail from Sarah that she is terminating our relationship and she has canceled all future appointments with her. But that I could still see her for emergency care. Is that really true? Because I’ve called and called to get treatment. No one is helping me. Why are you canceling future appointments but still providing emergency care? You’re not!! Because I tried to and no one has gotten back to me. It’s Friday. I am desperately trying to get seen by anyone but nothing. Am I getting ghosted by them? Seriously? There’s a tech timeline that I was there for my appointment before it started and was working to get in. But they’re unlike every online health appointment I’ve had elsewhere that sends you the link just before the appt. Why aren’t you doing that? When multiple others have run into the same issue. Your calls, emails and website all have differing information.Sooooo how am I non compliant to appointments?Suddenly they go back on it + decide it’s my fault and to blame me. Easier than fixing their issues and providing real healthcare to patients. It’s juvenile

Took 3 weeks for them to contact me after my previous therapists referral, then wasnt scheduled for my first appointment for about 1.5 months. Then my appointment was cancelled, and wasnt rescheduled for another month. After my first appointment, my next ones were scheduled so sporadically and I had to schedule out months in advance to make sure I could be seen. Then I didnt have good experiences with my therapist. My appointments lasted 30-40 minutes, when I was scheduled for a full hour. I got the feeling that no one really cared about improving my mental health, and I wasted 4 tough months of my life when I could have been getting help elsewhere.

Avoid this location. If you wish to use PsychBC I recommend the Dublin or Columbus offices. The coordinator of this office has appalling customer service skills which has convinced me to leave my provider so that I dont have to be subjected to her behavior. Specific examples: I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment as requested and was promptly ignored for ten minutes. When I was finally greeted and checked in it was with an unfriendly attitude. She seems to complete each task and answer each question with an annoyed attitude. I am troubled by employees who act as if they are doing a charitable service by dealing with you when, in reality, they are being paid at least twice the minimum wage.

I had a horrible experience at Pyschbc at Easton and I’m sharing this so that others don’t have to waste time on this practice, especially with provider Eric Lane.Finding a good psychiatrist is near impossible and since we recently moved our family to Columbus, I was worried about finding a competent doctor for my son, who has been under psychiatric care for over 10 years. We received the referral for Psychbc from my son’s primary care physician. Prior to the appointment, I completed a ROI -Release of Information and had all of his medical records. We arrived to his appointment on time. We had to wait about 15 while the receptionist checked in other patients. When she finally got to us, she told us that Eric Lane messaged her and said he would not see my son because we didn’t fill out the paperwork on line. I tried to explain that the online portal wasn’t working but, that he had all of my son’s medical records, she said he still refused to see him.I was absolutely appalled that not only did Eric Lane turn us away but, he wouldn’t even talk to us.

I picked an insurance plan (for 700/month) that was in network with my therapist specifically for that reason. They incorrectly told me she was out of network and it would be over $300 to keep my appointment that day. I spent all day on the phone with my insurance who insisted my therapist had a contract with them, only for PsychBC to tell me I’m lying and they were unwilling to submit the claim. Totally unethical to not even offer a referral or an immediate opportunity to speak with a client rights officer.
