I received a referral from OSU Harding to Ohio Guidestone in mid-October. I left four voicemails over the course of two weeks. I did not receive a call from them for three months, only to be left a message that they had a very long wait list. Its understandable that during these times, mental health crisis is a huge issue. But to not even get back to somebody for that long is unacceptable. They could have responded immediately and said that there was a wait list. Do not put people in crisis in the position where theyre only to assume that theyve been overlooked, forgotten about, and/or ignored. Horrible practice.

They have several good folks working there, its to bad that there is no communication with ANYONE. Thank God I wanted my sobriety bad enough not to need them for anything life shattering.... or my life would be shattered!!

I would never use this place for any reason. If your childs councelor calls and talks to you. And you describe how your child is doing. Or any action taken on your part to correct your child. They will turn you into CPS. Claiming you done something wrong. You can provide proof of things yet they will open a case against you. Would I recommend this to my friends and family. The answer is a very large NO. If your a parent and they call to give you an update dont answer any questions. Dont reply to any of their questions. Listen to what they have to say but never answer them. If you do CPS can and maybe knocking at your door.

They Never! Take a call you have to leave a message and wait 48-72 hours for a reply. The doctors are great, the customer service sucks. They will piss you off before they help you. My kids social worker keeps forgetting what we have talked about because she has a large case load. Her words, not mine. Frustrated and plan on shopping for a new place. I just didnt want to put my kid through the changes. She already does not like people. Sue, she likes an Lauren, god help her. So if you have a Job it is hard. They do not care.

My experience has been avoidance. Followup on messages is lacking. Ive requested a physician to physician referral which is still pending after 2.5 days, as if this writing. I was referred to Cleveland office to intercede. No callback from there either -- allowed 24 hrs before checking on this request again in Cleveland, voice mail. Again left multple messages. Im a patient person who has customer service experience. This situation at Guidestone is ugly.

April of 2018 we were told our rent would be paid and we had nothing to worry about, also my case manager Jazmin told me a promise to pay email was sent to my leasing office so that we would not get put out of our home. May of 2018 my boyfriend and I received a notice of eviction from our leasing office saying they have not received anything or heard anything from Ohio Guidestone. I then called Jazmin(the case manager) to see why an email was not sent to our leasing office when I was told it was she said more paperwork was needed, my leasingoffice then got on the phone and explained they only had until that Friday at 5pm to send an email saying they are in the process. I then provided everything that was asked for at the time so I wouldnt be put out on the streets. I followed up on Thursday, the day before the deadline that was given and Jazmin said she forgot to follow up with Angela(Jazmins boss) and that she would follow up with me. I never received a call back and thought it was very unprofessional of her. June of 2018 Ohio Guidestone is still giving us the run around and continuously makes excuses when all my leasing office is asking for is an email saying they are in the process of paying the rent, NOT a promise to pay but just something saying they are in the process. Now we are in the process of being evicted. This program is not credible nor honest.

I worked for Ohio Guidestone for 4 months which does NOT make me an expert on the company, but it did give me chance to experience how day to day operations took place. Full disclosure: I was laid off after 4 months along with 8 other employees. Most of us held the case manager job title and we were the 2nd round of lay offs within 3 months. The first round nearly all of the parent and/ or child mentors job positions were laid off. There are 4 things that you should know about this company before you work for them (if they decide to hire again) or if you are a client.First, there ARE good people that work for the organization. Most of them are therapists. However, the supervisors are very unskilled administrators that spend 90% of their day figuring out to bill medicare and medicaid for more billable hours. My supervisor (Jillian) was a snotty uncaring penny pusher who did not care one ounce for what was best for the client but rather how many billable hours we could squeeze out of the system. To be fair, she was in good company because every last supervisor was also totally obsessed with billable hours at all costs.Second, very VERY little actual therapy is taking place at Ohio Guidestone from any position at any level. While shadowing on one of my first days I asked one of Guidestones most experienced therapists what approach he used and I even couched the question with suggestions such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), etc. He was unable to adequately provide me with an answer. This is so fundamental to his position it would be like asking a mechanic which brand of wrenches he preferred (and having the mechanic get confused over what a wrench actually was...). Whether individual or group therapy, precious little therapy is taking place. The system is designed to produce billable hours to submit to medicare and medicaid and not to provide actual helpful and effective therapy to clients needing it the most.Third, nearly all of Ohio Guidestones client are perpetually in the system and do not actually make lasting progress with their addiction or mental illness. In my four months there I had never met or heard of anyone successfully completing any program offered by Ohio Guidestone where they remained sober and/ or were able to productively cope with their mental illness. The same clients with the same problems perpetually moved through the system with Guidestone happily submitting billable hour after billable hour t medicare/ medicaid. The clearly recognizable pattern is that they do not actually want the clients to get better because they lose them as a source of revenue and they do not have enough clients to replace them for whatever reason.Fourth, for the employees, they are promised a huge (up to $600/ month) productivity bonus if they achieve a 54% percentage of billable hours. This means that they demand 5 hours out of every day be billable hours. This is simply not possible when you are provided with an average of 8 clients per case worker. Usually it is expected to meet with the client for 1 hour per week. This makes 8 billable hours and not the required 25 to get that bonus. The truth is that employees will never see that bonus. I personally met 2 case managers who actually did manage to get those billable hours enough to make bonus and both of them were as crooked as the day is long and falsely reported the number of hours they were spending with clients. I personally witnessed this with both employees when I shadowed them when first hired. They would pick up a client and take them to a Dr. appointment and then wait in the parking lot while they went to their appointment alone and then drove them home perhaps after driving them to a store, etc. Of course the billable hour meter was running the entire time even though they may have only spent 30 minutes of actual time with the client. This was routine for these successful case managers and their supervisors knew it, but of course said nothing because they were feeding the billable hours cash cow.Stay clear of this unethical company...
