I had a desktop computer that suddenly stopped working. It wouldnt even start up. After trying and failing to get it fixed a certain large electronics store, I took my computer to the computer store. They had it fixed on the same day.You might be able to find cheaper places for computer repairs, but you probably wont find someone more knowledgeable and skilled as the computer store. I am willing to pay for good customer service and quality of work. You will find that at the computer store.

He acts more like a shady car mechanic than an actual tech repair guy. Breaks things to try to charge you more for repairs (theres other reviews that say hes done the same) and he BRIBED ME NOT TO LEAVE A BAD REVIEW by holding my refund hostage until I signed a quasi-legal document saying I wouldnt leave a bad review. Im 100% sure it wouldnt hold up in court and that this is the reason he has so few low reviews. I also saw him charge an old lady 50% more than he was trying to charge me for the EXACT SAME THING! He not only extorts and bribes, but he raises prices for people who dont even know better! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This place is very impressive. I took my laptop here after spilling nearly a whole cup of coffee on it, and they were able to fix it within 24 hours. It turns on and appears to be functioning as well as before the spill. The cost is very reasonable and the repair was very quick. What more could you ask for? I had an Asus 2-in-1 laptop that had a bad smashed/crack screen in the left corner. They were very quick to discuss options with me, and due to the type of issue there was a possibility that undoing the screen to check for the specific model may mean that the screen would shatter and not work. They offered to charge $60 to look and research the model, and if I chose not to repair it, I would not need to pay it. Unfortunately in my case the cost of parts and labor was more than the cost to replace, but they were very generous with me and declined to charge me. I will definitely go back the next time I have a computer issue. Thanks!

This is a very reputable company that went out of their way to fix mycomputer. After I got my computer back from them there was a problemunrelated to the original issue. I told them about the problem and theyfixed it at no charge and even paid to have it shipped to me out of their own pocket. It is very refreshing to find a company today that has the integrity to do the right thing by their customers. This is definitely a five star company.

BEWARE! I cannot believe the number of high ratings for this place. That was far from my experience. IT FELT MORE LIKE A SKETCHY CAR MECHANIC than a trustworthy local business to me. For starters, I believe the lack of more bad ratings is a result of EXTORTION rather than consistent great service.After a week and a half of poor service and back and forth with Saed, I had my girlfriend go pick up my laptop while I was at work. They refused to return my equipment in original condition and issue a refund until she signed some pseudo-legal form that she would not leave a bad/slanderous review online!!From the beginning...My 4 year old, sub $500 laptop has been getting slower and slower to the point it barely performed basic functions. Saed confirmed my suspicion that my hard drive was going bad.I originally just wanted to backup my data (less than 100 GB of documents, photos, etc.) and figured Id buy a new, cheap laptop that fits my minimal needs. Saed talked me into having him replace the HDD with a SSD and transfer my data for $215, and I reluctantly said yes. He also said hed have it back to me the same day (Friday) or the next business day at the latest (Monday).Monday, he calls and says he now needs to replace my battery, as mine is completely dead. The failing battery was a known issue when I dropped it off (part of the reason I was reluctant to put more money into it to begin with) but it was functional before that point.Saed says he can order the battery. It will arrive and I should be able to pick up my laptop by end of week at the latest. I later realize Microcenter 5 min down the road has the battery in-stock for $25 and it can easily be ordered on Amazon Prime too. Waiting a week for a battery to ship seems ridiculous. But again, I reluctantly agreed.The following Monday! I call back to see if my laptop is ready and told they are still waiting on the battery. I am extremely annoyed.I call again the next day. Im told a speaker wire has been accidentally cut and he might need to order a new wire (and wait another week for it to arrive) if I want working speakers. THIS IS WERE SAED STARTS TO SOUND A LOT LIKE A SKETCHY CAR MECHANIC TRYING TO SWIDLE A GULLIBLE CUSTOMER! I curtly ask what my total is, tell him he can make his attempt to solder the wire, and say Id like to pick it up that day regardless of working speakers or not.I go to pick it up, and speakers are working without a need to order new parts...hmmm, lucky me?? I then take my laptop and pay $265...$215 originally, plus $50 for the new battery, with a free data recovery that was originally $60. I get home and open my laptop, and MY FILES ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! The one any only thing I wanted from the very beginning!It was just a miscommunication with the other employee. Saed apologizes and says hell have it ready the next day. Again, I reluctantly agree...for a minute. Then I tell him F*** it, I want my old hard drive back and a refund. I will transfer the data, as I originally wanted, myself. Saed apologizes profusely and says I can come back the next day. It will be ready, and he will give my WHATEVER DISCOUNT IT TAKES TO MAKE ME HAPPY.The next morning I call and its ready. I say I would be happy to pay for part costs, but not labor given the hassle at this point. Saed says hes only willing to give me $100 off, but not all labor costs.So my girlfriend goes to pick it up...she is far less patient and a little more tech savvy than me, so she is not having this BS. Saed includes the original $60 off data recovery in that $100 he said, so he really just meant an extra $40 off the $265 totalHE DID NOT PERFOM COSTLY DATA RECOVERY! My original hard drive was not completely dead. He merely performed a simple data transfer.After a heated back and forth, my girlfriend has him remove the work hes done (the new hard drive and battery) and issue me a complete refund.She then fixed it with $80 in parts from Microcenter in less than 3 hours, before I got home from work that day.

My laptop was broken at the hinges because my 1 year old niece thought it should be flat as a pancake. I took the laptop to my usual repair place. They kept it for 2 months and couldnt fix it. I brought it to the computer store and it was fixed in a matter of a couple of weeks. I would highly recommend this place.

I have an iMac 2012 that had not been upgraded or working well for the last several years. I took it to Best Buy and paid around $150 dollars for the Geek Squad to upgrade it and then tell me it was really too old and that I should probably buy a new PC. A new iMac Pro or Air is close to $2,000.00. I felt like someone should be able get this PC to work so I searched online and saw that The Computer Store had good reviews. I took my computer there and they upgraded the operating system, installed more ram and did something else that basically gave me a new computer for around $350 in 3 days! I have an 8 year old Dell PC that one day would no longer connect to the internet. Me, not being a computer expert, thought maybe some internal parts had worn out. I brought it here just to see if I could get a little more time out of the machine. Turned out the real problem was not age, but a virus. These guys at the Computer Store got rid of the virus and fixed the corrupted files. Now I can connect to the internet, plus the computer runs faster than before. The amount they charged for their services was many times less than what it would cost to buy a new PC. Plus, keeping an older, but still-usable computer running helps reduce the e-waste problem. I hope I wont have any more computer issues in the future, but if I do, I know I wont have to worry, because these guys will take care of it!

I had a 2012 macbook pro that I couldnt figure out how to fix on my own that I brought to The Computer Store. They quoted me a fair price, however at the time it was out of my price range so I declined. I eventually changed my mind, gave them a call and asked them to fix it for me. They did, and even though the original diagnosis and price they gave me was wrong, they did not charge me for the extra parts on account of already quoting me a price. Great, quick work, very nice employees, and extremely affordable! Will definitely be back with my computer issues in the future!

Did a good job upgrading my old laptop with a new solid state drive, memory and Windows 10.

I wanted to get an upgrade from 8 gigs of ram to 32, and 256 gigabytes of storage to 2 terabytes. Not only did they install the hardware quickly and efficiently, they also set up the software for me, installing all the necessary programs so that it was up and ready when I got home. They even took the liberty to make the inside of my PC look good as new, as it was getting very dusty. They managed to do all of this in a single day, during a pandemic.This was my second time here, and I will definitely be returning. Extremely professional service.

Originally brought my computer to micro center where they wanted to charge $800 for the repair. The computer store was able to do the repair for $170 in only three days. Incredibly skilled and freindly technicians, would definitely recommend.

I went because some keys on my keyboard werent working. I originally thought it was a physical problem, but it turned out being a virus.They fixed it and now a month later it still works as if its brand new. I dont normally write reviews but I HAD to share my experience. I have a laptop tablet, smaller size, love it! Had an accidental spill one day and a few drops hit my laptop. I took it to Micro Center and was charged $35 to expedite looking at it. A week later I was told it needed a new motherboard which would be around $900.00. I ended up having to take it to Best Buy because Micro Center isnt an authorized agent to do repairs according to Lenovo. Best Buy wanted $85 to ship it out for repair and then it would be another week or so to get an estimate on repairing it and then another few weeks to get it back. Well....that just wasnt cutting it so I searched for other repair places in Columbus, Ohio. I found the Computer Store. Guess what? I dropped it off on a Monday and picked it back up, SAME WEEK on a Thursday night! Total cost to repair....$187.00!!!! They get 10 stars in my book!!!!

I was upset & frustrated when I took my business PC in to have them look at it. They were responsive but straightforward saying it couldnt be fixed that day but they would get to it within 2 biz days. They did & I was happy with the price for what they did. However, turns out there was more wrong with it than originally thought so I had to take it back in. That was late on a Wed afternoon but they promised to get it fixed for me by Fri. They did that even tho it meant they had to work past closing time on Fri for me to pick it up. They recommended a needed software update, sold & installed it at what I knew was a reasonable price. They kindly answered all my dumb questions & didnt condescend to me. I have driven past this biz for years, theyve been there since the 90s! Owner Sahid & tech James Poe are high-quality folks & an asset to Cvilles biz community.

The keyboard on my 5+ year old laptop was fried and the fan wasnt working very well so I took my laptop to the Computer Store to have it looked at. They completed a diagnostic for free and called me with a quoted price within a couple days of me dropping it off (I had dropped it off on the weekend). Despite the fact that the keyboard had to be special ordered, they finished the repairs in only a couple days and I was able to retrieve my computer about a week after dropping it off. Now, two months later, my computer is still working in top condition. The keyboard works great and is great for quick typing and the fan is working perfectly.The people were great, too! Dropping off the computer was super easy and picking it up was quick and efficient. Its a little hole in the wall place on High Street but its definitely better than any big box store or other place in terms of customer service and pricing. I will definitely be returning to the Computer Store for future repairs, should they be needed

Took my older MacBook Pro to the Apple store because the battery had swelled and bent the case. It wouldnt start, and I knew that the battery would need to be replaced. Apple removed the battery and said that they tried to boot up the laptop but to no avail. The genius said that I probably needed to replace the logic board (in addition to the battery). I did a quick Google search and found The Computer Store, a local company. They replaced the battery and said that the laptop booted up just fine. No logic board needed. I appreciated their friendly, fast service! Highly recommend.

Perfect service. Had my laptop break down a week before I took the bar exam. These guys found the problem (hard drive needed replaced) and fixed the problem all within 24 hours. All other places I contacted told me I would have to wait 5 days for them to complete the work. Best of all, it was the same price as the slow technicians

The technician went out of his way to find a used part to fix my Mac to save me over $200 on a new part. I am so glad I took my laptop here instead of the Apple store! I cannot recommend The Computer Store enough.

When the people who work at this store say they can fix any computer problems, they actually really mean it. I had cpu/gpu fan problems two times with a laptop model that wasnt even designed to be taken apart but they successfully replaced both fans in a quickly and timely manner, with no mishaps to any other functions or hardware such as the keyboard or its RGB lighting or the laptop screen, and with extremely fair pricing you wont hear of from even the biggest computer tech companies. Negotiation was simple and quick, and they were very cordial, respectful, and considerate of the unique problems of my particular model.I highly recommend anyone to this store for any computer troubles you may have due to the pricing and their knowledge of computers, and the speed in which they fix them. I surely will come to this store and no other if I have any more computer problems for as long as they are in business when I can!

My first experience with this retailer has been very positive. James quoted me a very reasonable price on a high end gaming system. When I met Saed and James at the store, they were both great to deal with and it was obvious that they take pride in the quality of their work.Bigger companies can take more than a month to build this kind of system, but James had it built in less than two days. I have picked up the PC and it is working great.I would recommend using The Computer Store as a reasonably priced and expedient option that takes pride in their work.

OMG! Where has The Computer Store been all my life?! Dropped off my Dell Laptop, which needed a new hard drive, at 11:30am and picked it up SAME DAY at 4:30pm. They suggested a reasonably priced upgrade to a solid-state drive and its fast! All at about the same cost as another local who quoted standard hard drive and a non-committal several-day turnaround. Thrilled!

They were very helpful and friendly, while also being very quick with the repair!

The Computer Store did what Apple and Micro Center said they couldn’t do! The staff showed true expertise and speed repairing my 2011 MacBook Pro.Price point was perfect too. I thought I would have to get a new laptop if they couldn’t fix it, I didn’t even have to even break my budget to get a repair.A totally reassuring experience!

Windows 10 update Crashed my Laptop, The Crew at The Computer store had me up and running with in 7 hours. Ive never seen service like this!!!Not from Micro Center, or the Laptop Guy. Outstanding work. Ill be back after my next update!!!

During the holidays I returned home to the dreaded green screen. After researching local alternatives I chose The Computer Store because of excellent reviews and their long term experience. They retrieved all lost data and reinstalled my operating system. The computer actually was better then before the disruption and they did it in a timely fashion...keeping me appraised of the progress. The final charge was reasonable and I will use and recommend this vendor in the future.

I do not post reviews but let me tell you about The Computer Store in the Short North!I have a 2011 MacBook Pro that I personally haven’t used for 3 years...yeah it was super Dead! I was hesitant to come in because of COVID but none the less I really needed to get it fix and finally back up my data. I brought in my laptop on a Friday and got I back Thursday...I personally wasn’t in a hurry as I haven’t used it in 3 years, so what’s another week?!My issue as to why I stopped using it was simple, the internet stopped workIng. I had no clue why it just stopped but I assumed it was because I might of missed an update. Turns out, I missed a few updates, that’s why it took longer than expected. I also had about 100GB of data to backup (and restore) as well which is already a long process. Oh yeah my laptop even crashed on them several times.I honestly didn’t think they could fix it after all the trouble it was giving them. But THEY DID IT!! It’s like I have a BRAND NEW MACBOOK!!! Everything works perfectly and it’s even faster!! They even said I can get a couple more years out of it! Now there were some sacrifices along the way like some programs were deleted but I was warned ahead of time by the team!! They communicated with me during the entire process including troubles they had along the way.I’m extremely grateful for all of there work! Oh and it was a heck of a deal!! 10 out of 10 will go back if I ever have anymore issues!
