Just left from getting my 8 yr olds haircut and New York did an amazing job!! I love this shops atmosphere. The barbers are always welcoming and we never wait long.

My son is nine years old. He had his very first haircut here, but after today we will not be going back. Chris told me that there were two people ahead of him. After waiting for an hour and a half, I left him in there and went to Winn Dixie. I was in there for 45 minutes. When I returned he still hadnt cut his hair. I know that he put people ahead of him. This has happened more than one time. I left, but I was so upset that I called the owner. I told him that Chris was rude and unprofessional. He told me to come back, and he cut my sons hair. I really appreciate him doing that, but the fact of the matter is that you cant keep treating people unfairly and think that it is okay because its not. I dont care how successful your business is, if you dont treat people with respect, fairness, and honesty it will not stay that way. If you have a system thats not working for you, stick to first come first serve. I dont care who they are or how long they have been a customer, everyone should be treated the same.

I don’t recommend this shop if you’re looking for good, fair customer service! I would give zero stars, but I’m required to give at least one. We’re military, new to the area and we’re referred to the shop. I utilized their waiting list service/app that they apparently don’t actually use. I arrived at the shop to get my son’s hair cut once his name was up on the app only to be met with a shop full of people that were ALL put in front of us. I inquired about the wait time and was told it wouldn’t be long. My three year old sat patiently for two full hours and never got a hair cut. We watched people who walked on after us get placed in front of us! This is not how business should be done. If they’re going to put others or those with appointments in front of everybody, they should be courteous enough to explain the wait time up front and let the customer determine if they want to waste their time! There were ppl who showed up after the shop was closed, that had just called to come in and they too were serviced before us.

Wow, what a great experience. Ive heard of them but never stopped by. Its very nice and jazzy. The Barbers are top notch. Brenden cut my hair and I Loved it. I got me a new Barber and a cool, respectful, down to earth place to go. Definitely Recommend!

I love this barbershop! They are better then any shop that I have been to, to get my boys haircut and that’s been a few! Pretty much all the young men that work here are super friendly and they all work hard and are very professional. They are not just about making money but take their time with every client and make sure that every person that sits in their chairs are satisfied with the work they have done for them. They are always busy but they have an place you can check in before you get there to get on their waiting list. Tony always does an amazing job on my oldest son hair and Lucky and Salaam does a great job too! I can always depend on them to take good care of my youngest son! All in all the whole team here is Great! Chris, Blake, Tony, Lucky and Salaam are a great team! I’m glad to say I spend my money here!

I have my own relationship with each of them and they treat me and my son like family. I don’t know the other guys’ names, but they are always nice and professional as well. Being open 7 days a week is just so convenient and I appreciate them all!

I absolutely hate going to barbers I have not ever been to. To my surprise , visiting fort Benning, my instructor told me to come to this location to get a haircut. When I got there, the music was playing, and it had all the vibes I am into. Without 1 minute of my arrival, Tony asked me what kind of haircut I wanted, and was very professional. He cut my hair, and I will definitely be coming back until I leave GA. Very happy with my sharp mine up, and low-fade. Highly recommend this location and barber to anyone civilian or military looking for a good hair cut! It’s art, and I respect it. Thank you! I recommend Tony to those looking!!

Every year they take donations of clothing/ supplies for kids going back to school. They really believe in giving back to the community. My first experience was good but I did not like my 2nd experience. If you go to this shop make sure you go to the barber in the last chair (the big dude) cause the guy in the middle did not cut my son hair to my satisfaction and I was charged $20 for my 8 year old son. The shop is very nice and the barbers are nice but I just wasnt satisfied with my son hair cut...Would I suggest this shop to family and friends??? Yes I would😃

Short story I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and when I lost my hair in patches Blake cut my hair for free and encouraged me through my months of treatments. These guys are awesome. I checked in online this morning at 11. There were 6 people in line. When I arrived. We should have been next. The barbers kept allowing other people to come in and sit in a chair. I dont understand the point of having online check in youre not going to go by that list. Disappointed

The Barbers breath with smelly he was musty and he kept talking very disrespectful to me the whole time he cut my hair heavy-set guy mouth was just filthy he kept stopping so he could talk to me which made the time Pro long for me to get done with my hair he was talking and spitting on me I already mention his breath was stinking so that smell was getting on my face I was so done I was so ready to go that I didnt care how he cut my hair he could have messed it up and made a terrible mistake I would have got up out of that chair no matter what they really need to screen and monitor the guys they hire in that barber shop..... I really wanted Blake to cut my hair..... Im pretty sure there are some great barber in there but that one they really need to monitor his mouth and how he talks to the female customers

Good: The atmosphere is good. They had sport center on and the commentators were talking and they moved to the Peyton story of the genitals to the girls face years back, the barber quickly changed the channel. With young kids there, mine including this was appreciated. Also the barber was legitimately concerned when a customer wasnt paying attention and his young girl walked in the road without supervision. That family atmosphere was nice.Bad: There were 4 barbers at the time, and we only used 1 so I cant speak for all of them. But we used the younger guy working there, and he scalped my son. I asked for a medium fade, number 3 on the sides and about half off on the top. His hair was about 1.5 inches on top. He just used a number 3 across the whole head. My son has class pictures this week so it is a bigger deal than it normally would have been. He also was a little rough with the clippers as my son started crying, he didnt seem to notice and kept on. I had to just tell him to stop and we were done.Note: To be fair on the way out they could tell I was unhappy after I mentioned they scalped my kid, and the owner, or manager, not sure who, he seemed to take more of a leadership role, offered me my whole amount paid back. He tried to make it right. I dont make this post to trash the barber shop because there are positives about the place, Im not sure if the younger guy cutting my sons hair was just not familiar with white peoples hair, or if he is just new to the game. Id go with one of the older barbers if you visit this place, stay away from the younger guy.

I must say that Ive been dealing with this shop for over 5 years easy but that doesnt matter to them. When you are walking through the doors 2 days in a row and turned away...once at 12:30 and the second time at 4:30 on days they close at 7pm...and it doesnt even faze them. Understanding is what customers do when we sit for an hour or 2 just to get a haircut while they answer personal calls, run next door to get a snack, or stop to go talk to their loved ones or liked ones...that in essence has been an understanding of the community and the barbershop. What I dont agree with is disrespect of a regular or any customer and acting like hell get over it. I drive past 10-15 barbershops just to come to them, its not cheaper nor convenient it just me being real with a shop that mattered to me. From when Brandon was on Buena Vista till now Ive been loyal but if Im not worth it then...Im not worth it. My time is money and I pay well for my haircuts and I feel cheated when folks are whining about eating like you dont know what time you are supposed to be at work. Grown men crying about working a whole 4 hours and not eating...Im a big dude and I can pull 8 easy on E. The mood in the location has definitely changed and there is some wack power struggle from within that needs to be resolved. I wish all you guys the best and hope you guys go back to square 1 until then Im not coming back and by to looks of the more recent reviews and the failure to respond to the customers issues it doesnt seem like I will return... but whatever much love Its been real Nappy Roots. Blake and New Big Big Dude keep your craft tight appreciate your efforts.

My son & I just left The Nappy Root & the barber didn’t even pick out or comb my son hair before he started cutting... or after! My son got a simple temp’ fade & it looks horrible! You know it’s messed up when the other two barbers are looking at it funny. They should have had the integrity to tell the guy the cut was bad or even say they’d fix it. I’m pretty simple... I didn’t complain, I just will NEVER go back to The Nappy Root again!

I normally get my haircut in my hometown of Eufaula, but decided since I would be in Columbus to give The Nappy Root a try. I really liked the vibe/atmosphere of the barbershop. All of the barbers looked and acted very professional. I was greatly pleased with my haircut and look forward to returning again.

I went in just to see if anyone could cut my son’s hair who is 2. Not only did they say they could, but they took him right then and their. My son screamed bloody murder the whole time, and it was so hard to keep him still, but the barber was so patient, and he never displayed any signs of frustration. We definitely will be back. My sons checked in at 2pm on a sunday. The website says they close at 4. My sons arrived at 315, having heard nothing from the shop at which point they locked the door. I called and they said they decided to close early nevermind they were checked in for hours. They didnt even have the decency to call. We will NEVER go back,
