I own a moving company and I have been using public storage for years to accommodate my own needs for storage and I must say that Michael from the Kinnear Road location is one of the best managers in Columbus. I met him about four months ago after he took over the position of a previous manager who should not have even been a manager in my opinion and Michael has turned the entire place around and has provided managerial skills not only for his company but also for his customers I have seen it with myself and I have seen it with others. He has provided great customer service and that is super important these days. Public Storage you should pay attention to this gentleman!

Whatever price is online will not be accurate. Also, 2 months later just got a postcard with a $25 a month increase. COOL

Very easy to accomplish and Hema, the guy who I got help from, with was very nice and gave great customer service. Very accommodating and understanding. My second visit with Micheal was also a wonderful experience he was warm and friendly and always working to make sure everyone had a great experience

I called last Thursday to rent a storage unit, since I’m new to moving to the Columbus area I wasn’t familiar with where a good location is. My oldest son told me which location to look into. I went with the Kinnear location and stopped in on Friday to pay and get my unit. Hema was absolutely wonderful, he provided me with everything I needed, explained in detail the information and we held a long conversation as though we had known one another for years! It was a pleasure to be treated like a friend and not just a consumer! I’m praying my experience will continue to be as pleasant with this company as long as I need them.

Please read! This week my unit was broken into. I am a small business owner and had over 2k worth of inventory stolen. Was told that these break ins happen multiple times a week. I pay over $200 a month and was told there are no security cameras or lights. Please be aware before renting. This happens very frequently. Wish I was told that break ins are so frequent before renting. This facility is a free for all for criminals. Please do not store anything valuable.

I have rented this facility for about a year now, and I purchased the Public Storage lock for my unit. However, I experienced a violent break-in last month (since I visited my unit in November and it was fine), the lock was cut in half, and most of my valuables are stolen. All the boxes and suitcases were forcibly opened. Another friend of mine also found a burglary at their unit here at Public Storage today. There are no security cameras on site, it is NOT safe. THINK BEFORE YOU RENT, otherwise you might lose stuff worth thousands of dollars even with the Public Storage locks. The first photo was taken in March 2020 and the second was today.

Excellent and efficient from Hema at the front desk. Was in and out with a storage unit within a half hour.

He helped talk through my storage needs and offered his suggestions in order to provide the best solution. We made a reservation about a week ago in light of OSU closing and anticipated a heavy volume of students needing a place to store their things for the summer. Little did we know that the reservation we made was for a RATE, not a storage unit. This was not clarified to us in a confirmation email nor a phone call. The location we initially reserved at (Kinnear) filled up and we were redirected to Kenny, where the lady answering our call gave us no information and rudely dismissed us, telling us to not argue with her and that this was company policy. DO NOT book from Public Storage if you are in a time crunch or other pressing situation as they have NO customer loyalty and will gladly take another customer over you as long as they get paid.

I was in need of a climate control storage for a few months. I searched the Web and found Public Storage was offering a $.01 first month deal. However upon arrival, this location did not have climate control. Margie was very helpful and searched other locations for me. I found this very nice, knowing each location wants the customer business at there site.Only CON I have is the advertising of $.01 first month. By the time you finished paying for there cylinder style lock, administrative fee and renters insurance. ( they do not accept other renters insurance policies) I paid more than my monthly rate. There went the $.01 deal. Margie did explain why the lock and renters insurance is required.Lastly I did take the unit. It was cool inside on a 85 degree day. The place has very good insulation keeping the units cool on hot days.

Great location for students at Ohio State University (about a 10 minute drive). D.J. was very helpful and considerate even though I was there right as they opened at 9:30 a.m. on a Monday morning. He walked us through the payment process very carefully and did a great job of explaining everything.

Can they get no stars and I still write a review. One star is far too much. We made a reservation online because of OSU closing. What was the purpose of this?? Got there Saturday the guy behind the desk wanted to know if we wanted the good news or the bad news - duh what do you have to say? Oh there are no more 5x10 units available but we can get a 10x10 for $125 and if that doesnt work we can go to a different location but they wont honor the $48 it will be $85. How about NO just NO!!!! In a time of a NATIONAL CRISIS therse price gougers are looking to make a quick buck. No doubt they were referring other parents to their facilities further out from OSU at a much higher rate, we ran into a few at a different self storage facility and they all had the same story. If you dot have the space dont advertise it online and then try to take advantage of an already stressful situation. And Erica in California needs to be whats known as jobless!!! The practices are pathetic!!!! Long story short went to Stor All Self Storage on 5th and they provided us with a 5x10 for $59 a month. If Public Storage offered spaces for $1 for a year i would rather pay some more reputable facility $100 a month, Pathetic just pathetic.

I use a storage unit on this location . I happen to forget my keys and when I went for assistance no one was anywhere to be found . I called and got no answers and yet the sign on the door say open at 9:30am I’ve waited and it’s passed 9:30 and still the front door is locked and no one is anywhere to be found to get help. Thanks

Billie helped me get a reduced rate for being a long-term renter. Storage has been extremely useful; in addition to allowing me to get out-of-season clothing or camping equipment out of my way, it has allowed me to store items from previous residences and my late parents that I simply dont have time to go through.

Margie has been super-helpful. My parents have been in the process of relocating to the area, and she has helped all of us in understanding the variety of sizes of storage units to fit our needs. Also they are very price-competitive.

Pros: (1) LocationCons: (3)1. They increased our monthly rate by $40, only 2 months after moving in. Called customer service, and they said per the contract, rates can increase at any time.2. The unit next to us was obviously using flames and heating equipment (working in there, making meth, who knows). There was a strong chemical smell. One year later, still going on. Our stuff was constantly being knocked over, because their equipment is always hanging over the side. We brought the issue up to the manager at the time, and he basically shrugged it off.3. The place is beat up. The front gate drags on the pavement, busted. The ceiling insulation in the building is old and decrepit. It falls off constantly, all over our stuff. Nasty.Just know what youre getting in to. The new manager seems great, so hopefully it will all improve, but after several years, weve decided to move our stuff. There are far better storage facilities out there.

We went over and saw the space for our RV. Billi the manager showed us the space, she was very pleasant and accommodating. We rented the space. The paperwork was easy and took very little time to complete.

The two Margies (S. and M.) who manage this facility are wonderful. They are always cheerful and helpful.The facility is centrally located - right next to Rt. 315 with easy access to the highway. The common area is spotless with wide spaces between the rows of buildings - two vehicles can easily pass one another in the rows.We are emptying a bin owned by a friend who has moved on, but would quickly return to this Public Storage location if the need would arise.

I have had nothing but exceptional service at this location. Margie has always been great to work with and responded to any questions immediately.My search for a place to store my work van was a real challenge. I called and e-mailed multiple places in town over several months and few called me back, the few that did contacted me days after I contacted them Public Storage found a place for me in minutes, offered me a rate much better than the few places that did contact me back and has never disappointed me on service. We are hoping another space opens up at the location so our sister company can work with this location as well.

While visiting the property to buy merchandise, the manager (Margie) was doing a lease. She acknowledged me as soon as I walked in. She finished the lease and was very helpful to the other customer that was renting. She showed the lady how to use the gate pad and told her that if she needed anything to please let her know. I explained to her what I needed in the way of boxes. Margie was kind enough to show me the sizes and she even opened up the boxes for me to view. I appreciated her concern with what I needed. I will use this facility when I need a rental space. Margie has great customer service. She is an asset to public storage.

Billie at the this location was very easy to work with and very helpful with my move in and move out! This location makes you feel safe while visiting your storage unit, unlike many locations. Super easy to get to from Grandview or UA area!

The staff at Public Storage on Kinnear are the most helpful and knowledgeable of any storage facility i have used. I move fairly regularly for my career and have used many different facilities around the country, and I have never received as much assistance as I get from this location. The property is secure and clean. The staff are especially friendly and helpful. Other facilities generally treat their customers like nuisances, but Margie and her staff are always quick to offer solutions to whatever my storage needs may be. When I need a unit, they offer sound advice on the least expensive option. When I needed to transfer units, they went out of their way to accommodate me. They make the small mound of paperwork required as simple and straightforward as possible.

I picked up some boxes and looked into getting a unit next month, the lady at the desk, her name was Taryn, was very knowledgeable and professional. Would recommend to a friend.

This afternoon I spoke with Taren, the site manager, and she was most warm and welcoming and spoke with me about half an hour helping me to meet my storage needs for both property and vehicles. She was most pleasant and accommodating. GOOD JOB!!!!!

Overall the experience was wonderful. Would have given 5 stars but was directed to wrong location. Joshua showed us several storages and was able to get us one closer to Polaris at the same special.
