Edit - After requesting to speak with a supervisor Latonya was able to resolve my issue. She explained that their largest issue is to do with staffing. Please pay your employees better. I dont mind paying a higher service price if the money actually gets into the hands of the people on the front line of the company doing the work.Below is the original issue I had.GFL Environmental, please return my blue trash bin. I purchased that can back in 2016 when we rented our house out to tenants. It was not yours to take.Secondly our bill was paid prior to the cans being removed from our property and we have a $0.00 balance bill with active service in your system yet for the past 2 weeks I have not had my trash picked up.The only reason for the interruption in payment on our end was that you changed your billing system and we were originally unable to migrate our account to actually complete the payment process. AGAIN though this delinquency in payment was completed PRIOR to you removing the recycling bin and MY can that was not yours to take.

Absolutely horrible! Called every single week day for 12 days straight to the Columbia office. No answers. Finally on day 11 I got transferred to Atlanta office 3 times, they couldn’t help but at least they answered. On day 12 it was cooperate who answered, transferred me back to Columbia, who didn’t answer, then back to a different person in corporate. Literally having to pay for a month and a half of unable to use services. This is an absolute monopoly and disgusting business. I understand being busy, but charging for services that were never received is not okay!*the actual employees who collect the trash are GREAT, all super friendly!!! it’s the business and office that is the issue*

If I could give your business a zero I would. We’ve been calling since the end of August because we moved and you have yet to call back so we are still paying you for trash service where we don’t live and then at our new house that we’ve tried to change services too you come and take the trash cans! You can keep up with that but can’t call a customer back who is trying to keep doing business with you. Absolutely awful if I could use another company I would.

Im changing my original rating of 1 star for this company to 3 stars off of the principle of transparency. I was finally able to communicate with a representative after several attempts, who didnt offer me any promises or exact guarantees, just to turn around and not hold up to them. She honestly and simply stated that my issue has been noted and is in the process of being resolved, but could not offer me an exact date due to staff shortages and pandemic delays. Still not the answer I wanted to hear, but at least it was an honest answer.

Numerous calls both by my daughter, who is the customer as well as several on her behalf. Been waiting 3 months for a replacement bin. Numerous contacts as well as empty promises. Calls, emails, pictures. No communication or follow through

Ive never been more dissatisfied with a company before. Have been trying to get a recycling bin delivered to my house since December. It is now September... Still getting charged 100% for 50% services though. The customer service is an absolute joke. Expect to wait an hour to MAYBE have someone pick up the phone.

You cant make this stuff up...I moved to South Carolina on a Wednesday, literally closed on my house and got my keys on Wednesday. Trash runs on Friday...I put my trash out and my trash cans got repod by GFL. No letter, nothing. I didnt even know who or how to contact them. Once I did I paid for the full year but they cannot deliver my trash cans back until mid October...this is at the end of August when this took place. I had to rent a uhaul to haul my trash and go to GFL to pick up my trash cans. Bill has been paid for a full year but they cannot get me a replacement trash can for 1.5 months. They can literally repo my cans before I have a chance to even find out who or where I pay my bills (within 48 hours of me getting keys to my house) but they cannot return a trash can to service me for 1.5 months. People on the phone are fine but not helpful. I wish there was any other option.

Lexington has set up trash services so each has a monopoly on the neighborhood they service. Only problem is, this group will not return phone calls/you will get a busy signal over and over, they dont respond to emails, and when you finally manage to get in touch with them, they are starting trash service over 30 days out. Which means you have to haul your own trash for over a month after you sign up. Complete mess of a business but there is no other option. If you are moving to town, set up trash service as soon as you get a contract on a house just in case.

Trash is supposed to be collected on Thursday’s. Sometimes they come on fridays or saturdays or not at all. Haven’t had recycling collected in over a month. Do not use this service for trash collection. Spend money elsewhere.

Ive called several times to have yard waste picked up. They said they would send a truck on Tuesday, when they finally picked up trash for once this month, and its still sitting in my yard. Called the next day and the supervisor, Ms. Adams, was to send a truck and still was not picked up. Called again today, they did not see any services for my request and I could not believe how poor that communication is. They also caused my lawn crew to come out for no reason and charge me because they cant cut grass with the massive amount of debris in the way. Columbia needs a new waste company and get rid of this one. Hopefully the communities reviews will catch someones attention to change this problem.

Got service in April. It is now June and we havent received our trash cans, nor have they taken our trash that we put at the end of our driveway. At least 2 of my neighbors have gotten their bins and one is directly beside us. I will be canceling and getting a full refund or we will be contacting our lawyers. DO NOT use Green For Life.

Minimum wait time is 1 hour, no matt what its 1 hour to get ahold of someone... They require a call to do even basic things like cancel service. Terrible, simply terrible, its amazing to me that they have approved contracts

We paid them for service on the 16th of last month. Cans were suppose to be delivered on the 4th of this month. They are 20 days late and when I call them, there is a busy signal. Using their online form is also useless. Has anyone actually taken this company to court yet? It might be about time to.

Impossible to get ahold of, their system for making payment hardly ever works, takes months to get a trash can, and their customer representatives are impossible to talk to if you can ever get ahold of them.

Yard waste waiting to be picked up for 3 weeks now. Called both prior weeks and all they do is give you a tiny refund and say they’ll be there next week. This is not the first time some type of trash hasn’t been picked up.

New bins are two months late and I still havent received. Garbage piles up next to my driveway that theyre supposed to pick up without the bins. They routinely miss my house all together, and if they dont theyre a day or 2 late. Worst company.

Pickup team destroyed lid to my trash can, hasnt had one for months, cant get a human being on the phone to get one. The listed number gives a busy tone before it even connects to the call. Incredibly frustrating.

They left yard trash on my grass for 7 days destroy my grass. Called 4 straight days promise 4 days they were sending someone to pick up the leaves that are in plastic bags. On Friday someone answer the phone sounds like he was sleeping and he stated he was send someone to pick up the trash. Well today is Monday a week later trash still in front yard. I have witnesses and pictures for proof.
