Today (04/27/21) I arrived at 4:55, the sign said open 7:30 to 5:00. So the guy is closing the gate, I asked him to give me a break, y’all don’t close till 5:00. He looked at his watch and said “we close at five to. I said that the sign says 5:00. He turned his back on me and locked the gate.I pay taxes in this county therefore his wages.Now I have a trailer full of trash and can’t use it tonight as planned. And I have to spend another gallon of gas on another trip there at $2.799 per gallon.

Loaded up five tires one of which was a massive tractor tire we found in our creek during a brush cleanup. Drove all the way out to the landfill and they told us they couldn’t take them because the bin was full. One gentleman suggested to his boss that we could drop them and they could just take care of it when the bin was empty. His boss said NO. How is there not a local resource available to remove tires from our waterways and woodlands free of charge? What incentives do locals have to clean up if they are charged for tires that aren’t even theirs?Poor , lazy customer service.

Not the best experience for the first time here. Waited awhile on the scales and pulled off to go to the office to get someone to weigh me. I was the only one in line and then waited awhile to unload just to have someone else allowed to go before me. I finally unloaded and went back to the scales. I sat there waiting again! Went inside to see if I could get weighed. As I was looking at everybody they said “we’re at lunch and told me I had to wait till they were done in 30 minutes.”

Not the most pleasant person I have ever dealt with. Woman I spoke with was on a speaker phone/speaking from a hollow box, she was very abrupt with me as I had simple questions about the county services. As a public official, even in waste disposal, simple courtious service is the implied requirement of the role. Not asking for charm school responses to simple questions, but how about at least being nice to a new resident to the county??? If you cant do that, how about being just decent?
