Called to schedule a Lyft inspection for my vehicle and spoke to a gentleman named Mike. He was very helpful in telling me everything I would need before coming in to receive the services. Upon arrival I was greeted by chance by the same person I spoke with (Mike). There was a few people ahead of me but their hospitality while waiting was definitely spot on southern hospitality. I honestly didn’t wait to long and when done he made sure to advise of their rewards program and other services offered for future if I needed them. It was an overall great experience. Specially being a female I did not few taken advantage coming into their establishment!!

This Pep Boys is the only place that I trust to perform maintenance and repairs on my car. The employees are always kind and attentive, and they give updates as they work so the customer is informed, consents to services, and never has surprise fees. Best place in town for car service!!! Mike at the front desk could not have made getting my tires and oil changed any easier for me!! It was hard for me to receive a car inspection knowing that here in SC its not mandatory. Driving for Uber I had researched and Michael came to my rescue when I seen the reviews about Pep Boys. He also gave me an early appt. that I needed for an oil change when other places couldnt do it when i needed it or were too expensive. Thanks Pep Boys and I hope you stay around for a long time!

First they said I had to take tires smaller than the recommended size for my car. Then my car sat ready and no one told me. Then today the air pressure sensor went off and I checked my tires and all over them are over inflated like crazy!

Ive had over $1000 of repairs done in the last 2 weeks here. The staff is always awesome and the techs are very skilled at their job. They went above and beyond their job description for me on Easter Sunday and got me back on the road. I would rate them 6 stars if i could

I wanted to take advantage of the buy 3 get 1 deal on some Cooper tires. They had the best deal around. Well before my arrival I spoke with Michael who was SUPER helpful and displayed A++ customer service got me in in less than 10 mins. 1 Hour later I had a new set of tires on my truck. The entire staff at this Pep Boys location is very nice and helpful. I really appreciate all of them and the great work the technicians did (they took good care of my wheels/tires) during the installation. I would recommend this location to anyone!!

Dont know. Used to go here to buy car parts because their opening hours allowed me to shop after I got off work at 7. But now... Apparently Covid becomes really active and contagious from 6 PM to 8 AM, and will defeat any mask. Of course I didnt realize my headlight had burned out until after the sun went down, and after my unsuccessful attempt at visiting Pep Boys, I was able to get home without being pulled over and ticketed. Will find a new favorite auto parts store tomorrow, as soon as the sun deactivates the Covid virus.

Where should I begin from day one of me taking my Kia Optima hybrid to Pepboys on Decker they have done such an amazing job. In todays world, it is sometimes difficult to find people who go the extra mile and I can honestly say the staff at this location have always been professional, kind, and considerate. This place is the only place I trust my car with as well as my moms. Came home to visit SC on Friday and my tire pressure light came on unexpectedly, everybody else in the area were supposedly booked til the following Tuesday🙄 and wouldnt look at my car, came to Pep Boys Brian and Michael were pleasant, took care of my car in 15min or less with no issues, thank yall again.

Been going here for parts for years since its less than a mile from my house and I can walk there if needed. Sadly, I placed an online parts order two days ago for a headlamp bulb. I figured this would be quick, easy, safe for everybody, keeping contact to a minimum during a pandemic!Unfortunately, over 48 hours later, looks like the order hasnt been touched. Since I need to get to work tomorrow, Ive placed a pickup from another auto parts place down the street, just a quarter mile further but they had the bulb ready for me 15 minutes from when I ordered.Times are tough for everybody right now, I get that, but I gotta take my business somewhere that will be able to help me promptly. The slight cheaper price here isnt worth the big waste of my time :(

By far the best service I have had ever. Chick-fil-A has the best customer service, but I promise you they’re not touching these two guys. I’m not from Columbia I had just arrived in town and somehow ran over 2 nails coming off the expressway. I call Mike G at Pep Boys Tires Service like 20 minutes before they closed at 7pm I told him I was from out of town and he said get over here before 7pm he and Greg E would take care of me. Mike G was very professional and pleasant with a smile and got my car straight to the back. Greg E was awesome and work efficient and fast and didn’t complain about me coming in 8 minutes before they closed. Greg complete my tire change and about 15 mins. These guy are true professionals and I thanked them both and their response to was no problem, if you’re ever in Columbia again stop through and let use service you. Two of the most dedicated individuals and putting customers first. Definitely recommend get your service done by these to guys.

Pep Boys on Decker Blvd promised me with customer service that went way above and beyond. Mike was outstanding at providing me a more than fair tire price as well as quick service. He assisted me with new windshield wiper installation for my truck on a 90+ degree day in SC. I highly recommend them and would encourage you to shop there. Tamika is a great employee. From the time I walked in the door she was speaking to me, asking if I needed help finding anything. Wonderful experience!! our tire blew on a trip and was completely replaced in less than 15 minutes at an extremely reasonable price, the spare tire was aired and everything was put back into place in my trunk. extremely satisfied with the service we received, and everyone we spoke to was very helpful and professional.

These guys were great and removed a nail from my tire in a timely manner and were veryRespectful. The customer service at this location was great and I called multiple times to inquire about the best time to bring my car in given the leak in my tire. When I called these guys they told me when to bring my car in on February 23, 2020 and I was in and out within 30 minutes. A nail was removed from my tire they patched up the area and I was on my way to enjoy the rest of my Sunday. I would recommend this location without hesitation given the great customer service and timely execution. They also have great hours and are opened on sundays.

By far my best experience at an auto repair shop. My battery died and my check engine light came on the day before a 15 hour road trip. The employees were not only kind, but also upfront about wait time and costs. I will absolutely go back here!!!

I would never use my Pep Boys card again or the account

I had my car towed there after having issues with the car not cranking. We spoke to them that night regarding their recommendations which was a new battery and alternator. We told them then that we had a warranty on the battery and would not need one from them. They then told us they dont have a way to check the system without a battery they would have to use one, okay...so the next day I come down to pick the battery up to get that warranty situation taken care of and pay the bill. At this point i see that I have been charged for a battery and a alternator plus labor to the tune of 700. I explained that we did not need the battery but everything else was fine. This is where Lonnie the assistant manager got very hostile and told me that they would not uninstall the battery because we agreed to it. When I told them no we have no need as ours was brand new. She got even more aggressive telling me i would pay, and that she would like to see me get my car without the keys. In which i reminded her I had keys to the car as well.This back and forth argument went on for about 10 mins which i ended up leaving without any resolution. It had to be escalated to the district manager who then gave me the battery which is fine but I never needed a battery! The reviews say great customer service but what I experienced was negative employees and aggressive attitudes. Be aware of their billing and check their prices.

Had a diagnostic performed on my vehicle and was charged $100, just to tell me I needed to take it to the dealership! Very frustrating!

Last January I was on my way to Florida and had an emergency tire issue. I was on a budget for the trip and didnt have any extra money with me. Josh was great, he said, let me see what I can do. Minutes later he came back and told me he had a tire that didnt have a match. They mounted and balanced it for free so we didnt have to spend our trip money and cut our trip in half. Josh and his staff are top notch. They really saved the day. I wont ever forget it and if Im ever down there way and need something for my vehicle I will definitely be stopping there. Thanks again to Josh and his amazing staff. You guys are all class.

Super slow will make you sit for hours just to get a simple oilchange done. Would not recommend using this place at all.

They take forever to answer the phones and once they do they put you on hold for more than 20 minutes . They also needed a master mechanic to look at my car . I guess they can’t do there jobs

We were traveling from Alabama, and had a vehicle emergency. Although mechanics were limited due to other scheduled appointments; Matthew fixed the problem in a timely manner. He was also friendly. My husband and I had a fantastic customer experience.

Shame to see the store close

Purchased a battery at PepBoys I was satisfied. Three mos. later weather changed battery stopped charging. Jumped it off checked my alternator (1yr old) not the alternator. Jumped in started over to PepBoys it wouldnt even keep my little Mazda running. It stalled out & wouldnt start. Got my car back home. Took battery out placed in another vehicle. Got there there were some issues but were quickly resolved they refunded the price of battery I upgraded to a stronger well known battery maker not their brand. Colder weather too grip and NO PROBLEMS. 😉

Best service in Columbia! Mike and Josh were able to properly diagnose and fix the problem within an hour of meeting them. Highly recommended for all of your tire and service needs! Come see these guys. They know their stuff and they definitely know great customer service. Thanks again!

I went in with a coupon for the service plan and only thing was completed. The coupon said oil change, tire rotation and tire pressure. Because of my last experience I took a picture of my tire pressure and tires they were not changed. Long story short that are awful I will never go to this location.

Best customer service I’ve experienced getting my car serviced. Had a flat spare and Michael fixed it on the spot for me. The following week I had a leak in my actual driving tire (not the fixed spare) they got me in and assisted in preventing what was a rough morning. Can’t recommend this place enough. They were amazing! I was driving through Columbia alone in the rain after dark when my windshield wipers completely broke and I couldnt see to drive home to Charleston. They went above and beyond to fix them quickly for me so that I could get on my way before the snow/sleet started. Cant thank them enough!!

They got me an appointment right away o replace shocks, struts, and tires. Got the price below my previous estimates with better quality product. I explained I was short on time to pick up my kids and they made sure the job was done. They make their customers a priority and are more than happy to do what they can to help you out. Prices for vehicle services are a bit higher but everything else is great. The store has great prices on everything, i just don’t like one particular cashier. A tall, older African American man is kinda rude to me every time i go.

My son and I brought a battery in to be tested. Employee was friendly and helpful. Battery turned out to be faulty. He helped us in selecting a compatible battery and we were on our way.

I adore bringing my car to be worked on at this location. Ever since Ive switched from the old mechanics I used to go to, Ive never gone anywhere else for my cars service, repairs, and maintenance. The gentlemen that work there are absolutely fantastic. Steve, Matthew, Reggie, Lamar, and Charles are always happy and in good spirits when I arrive and their customer service skills are refreshing. They take the time to know each customer personally and theyre work is exceptional. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have two vans and my sons both bring their cars to Albert. He and his staff give professional service and actually explain in great detail what is going on with the vehicles. Honest people who do great work. Even thought they are busy all the time, they still make the repairs happen fast and get us back on the road!

We blew a tire on our boat trailer returning from hurricane evacuation. Michael agreed to stay after hours while we traveled to the store to put the new tire on. Josh, the service manager, came in after hours on his day off to reopen the shop to repair the tire! They went above and beyond the requirements of their job to help us in a moment of need! They were a blessing to us.

The guys there where really helpful even though they were busy. I even overheard them trying to help a customary save over $350. Unlike alot of places theyre not trying to take your money. I would definitely set up an appointment though, it gets busy quick. Ask for Michael if you can, he was beyond helpful!

Went to their website and scheduled an appointment for an oil change at 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon...since this was my first day off in over a month I figured that would be my best option as opposed to driving around trying to find a place to get it done! After getting a confirmation email about the appointment and a promise that the service would be completed within 30 minutes of my arrival I loaded up my 3 kids and headed to this joke of a place! Once I arrived and walked to the service counter to check in I was told they had no information about my appointment and they would have to reschedule me for the next day...only problem with this is the fact that I dont know when Ill have another day off to reschedule, and it definitely wouldnt be the following Monday! Avoid this so called mechanic shop at all cost...their cheap rates reflect the type of operation they are! Customer service and honesty beats a cheap s**t hole like this every day of the week...spend a little extra and avoid this joke!

I had gotten a flat on my way home from work Yesterday. My insurance company suggested Pep Boys, I agreed since Im a rewards member. When I got there, I waited ten minutes before someone finally addressed me. The first guy was really polite. But the guy that explained that they couldnt repair my tire and I was going to have to purchase a new one wasnt pleasant to deal with. I informed him my rewards card was on my key chain and I wanted to make sure I received credit for the $92.00 I was spending for the tire. He kind of brushed me off and said it goes by my phone number. Im pretty sure there was a way he couldve checked the system to make sure. If I wasnt mistaken, with his demeanor, I wouldve assumed he was the one that had gotten a flat in the middle of 5 oclock traffic. I love the location on Broad River, their service is always good. Unfortunately, my service was totally opposite on Decker.

Josh helped me out in a dire situation and I cant express enough the gratitude I have for the help he provided. He went above and beyond to be attentive and accurate with my auto needs and I am truly thankful. Thank you to everyone at this location.

I went into your store for an oil change. Your staff noticed that I had a bad tire and advised that I should replace it soon. Well instead of getting an oil change I am safer in my car because I have 4 brand new tires for such a great deal. This location has a wonderful manager, Tyrone and staff and I will continue to do business with your company.

Arrived into Columbia while traveling from New Mexico to Virginia around 6 in the evening needing an oil change. I went to 4 different places around the university, but no one was able to help me out, including the Pep Boys in that area. Called, and was informed if I got my car down they would take care of me. They saved me so much time by squeezing me in and preventing me from having to wait until the morning to get back on the road. This Pep Boys really cares about peoples situation.

Horrible service. Head technician as well as two other staff members returned my car to me in worse shape than when I dropped it off. They also lied to my face multiple times about the issues with my car, while also not fixing what they said they had done. The head technician also bowed up at me and “blessed me out” in front of the other customers when I was able to prove the fact that they had been untrustworthy when dealing with my car. I will never be using this location again. Would never recommend.
