Nice hotel, the lobby and bar are top notch. I booked a room with a king bed, but they only had a room with two doubles when I got there. Not bad beds, but not great either.

The dining area, fitness area and pool are very nice. The lobby layout gives an inviting feel upon entering. The menu was simple but the food was cooked and prepared excellently, and priced appropriately. Mattress was a bit uncomfortable compared to Marriotts stayed in previously. Need new mattresses. Overall will recommend as sleep destination. Also stock the towels on top of the counter. The compartment now is parallel to the toilet seat and catches lots of water splashes when flushed or used by males. Just a sanitary NOTE.

I was surprised by additional charges for early check in when I selected early when I booked my online check reservation for 4 people. Not oy did the room have enough towels for four and we had ask for more twice, then after dropping my ear piece, we found the room had a dead cockroach next to big brown stain on the carpet hidden by using a chair. The toilet had urine stains on the seat, while the shower/tub combo had a ring, red statin wall, hair on the soap rack, and mold on the shower curtain. I took plenty of pictures. And while one of the night agents came to clean the tub,and apologized, I was ready to go but was there to attend my son Army ceremony @ Fort Jackson, and had no where else to go after being charged $220 for a $139 room. I have all the pics and feeling of having my children to sleep like this and to show and remind me not use Marriott. I was concerned about the uncleanness of the room and if we have now been exposed to COVID-19. I picked Marriott because the name usually meant something but I felt like I was staying in an over price Motel 6.

Conveniently located in downtown Columbia. Nice lobby, bar area, and great customer service. Beds are small and mattresses are extremely firm. Not much by the way of comfort. Rooms are dated. Not a bad stay, but not a good nights rest either.

Positive: Comfort. And cleanliness Negative: The fact they had no microwaves in the room. And u had to take 2 separate elevators to get to the parking garage.

Great location. Nice shopping and restaurants nearby. I requested a father free room and despite all efforts by me, my room was not feather free for two days. I had two allergic reactions.

The room was clean and well kept. The environment is very clean, sanitized and quiet. Plus I had a great view. I was on the 10th floor that overlooked the city and into the sky. I felt like Ghost from Power I kept looking out the wind. Staff was very helpful with my accommodations. I have no complaints only wished I could’ve stay longer lol maybe next time. One Love

This ICU Campus is such a Beautiful, Clean, Peaceful campus. It has newer buildings, state of the Art Sports fields, a Seminary, Business, walking trails and lakes etc. Clearly an engaging space for enjoying your education while enjoying your campus life! Dorms are Awesome!!!

It was just OK nothing to brag about but nothing to complain about either but the bar closing too early on a Friday night. Yes I would stay again because its downtown and you can walk to all the venues.

Suites are very nice, the room, the accessories, the accommodations. Enough space, they do a good job making you feel comfortable and its pet friendly for anyone with pets. Highly recommend

For a Marriott, it was average. More like an express hotel. Biggest complaint was hotel only services breakfast and bar was only open for 3 hours starting at 5. Good location if staying downtown. Rooms were clean on arrival,, but no cleaning while there. Not recommended.

Do not stay here! It was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. A lot of things went wrong and the staff was completely unaccommodating. Whatever you do make sure your bags are completely locked up. The hotel will not be responsible for any theft including bike tires. We had two bikes stolen and they were right in the front by the mailbox and front door.

Marriott Columbia is showing a bit of age / wear & tear. That being said, room was clean and quiet. Parking garage was convenient with in&out via room key card. Be forewarned though - if you have an early start, nothing in the area is open before 7:00 AM - so its room coffee and whatever you bring with you.

Great service, comfortable bedding. Excellent location for those who want to sightsee around the downtown Columbia SC area. Would have given it 5 stars but the parking garage (which accommodates the Marriott, Holiday Inn IHG and students of the Hub - University of South Carolina student dorm) made for crowded conditions.

This is my favorite hotel in Columbia! The furniture is beautiful. Bed comfortable. Water hot. Everything is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar are open.

Very nice and clean lobby and easily accessible from the street. Was there for a banquet and the Carolina Room was very nicely set up and the food was great. Wait staff was on point and very courteous.

Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Im very appreciative of the late check-out option. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming.

Great location. May things in walking distance. The bar had a 1 hr wait for a drink order so we left to find refreshments elsewhere.

Positive: Location Negative: There were no carts, no assistance & no valet parking. The room and public spaces were outdated and need deep cleaning. Covid shut down would have been an ideal time for tile repairs & a fresh coat of paint; hospitality needs to improve.

Positive: The beds were comfortable, and linens and carpet, bathroom were tasteful. There was a coffee pot, mini fridge, and toiletry items all good. Negative: The hotel was not clean. Room was dusty, bathroom floor was so sticky, and hairs that were not ours. The elevators smelled like urine. Indoor pool was full of hair. The whole place needed vacuuming

This Marriott is showing its age. It’s pretty old & tired. The carpets in both the rooms & hallways don’t smell very fresh. As a matter of fact, the rooms smell kinda mill dewish. My bathroom showed evidence of past flooding.As a person that spends the majority of the year in hotels for their job, this hotel is on the poor side & needs help. The only thing keeping me from giving it one star is the hotel staff is pretty nice.

Definitely an older hotel based on the noises in the bathroom, but well maintained and kept up. Not very good reviews, but I enjoyed myself and would stay again.

The hotel itself has alot of amenities, but the rooms werent modern and not cleaned properly also I found fresh red lipstick on my towel so that raised a red flag for me. Also my room was next to the highway & train track so it was very loud and difficult to adjust and rest. The stay was not suitable and I would never return!

The hotel is pretty old and outdated. The rooms are really small and squeezed especially the ones with double beds. The towels felt like sandpaper! no exaggeration. The front desk staff and valet were very friendly, helpful and professional. The restaurant downstairs is beautiful. Theres a heated pool which is very nice too. Other than the complaints above, everything else was okay overall.

Over priced, annoying how far we had to go to get to our room, no breakfast or coffee. The room was clean, bed was not uncomfortable, staff lied to us and told us they had no rooms at first, hubby told them we were told you had rooms over the phone????

Beautiful downtown hotel with nice roof top bar. Rooms have historic feel with old hard wood floors, yet modern as bathrooms have white subway tiles with TVs in each bathroom. Staff is wonderful and accommodating providing upgrades when available.

Its Okay good hotel for tourists, its in the Center of downtown columbia and working distance from most fun/center of attraction

The one in this particular city is below standard of other Marriott facilities Ive been to in other states. My room heat did not work, then it was fixed but ac didnt work after that. No offer of another room. No upgrade, poor view. Least service Ive seen as an ambassador. Likely wont be coming back here. I am usually in town for 8 to 12 days monthly.

From Christian and Sharlene at the front desk to the executive lounge staff. My stay was fantastic. The pool is indoors and my kids loved it. I had lots of space to work on the tables near the pool area. Well done Marriott. Parking is not free as an FYI. You do have the option for valet parking if you want. If you self park use the level 2 spots for the best experience.

Negative: I was suppose to have a King and they gave me a double bed. The air conditioner did not work. The bed was broken. All in all horrible experience. I will not be staying there again.

One of my less favorable hotel visits. The view was good but i didnt book a room for the view. The mattress felt especially cheap, like a boxspring with a cover. Pillows were far too firm. Room had a slight odor (and not that of cleaning products). All the basic amenities were present but everything felt a bit cheap and outdated, which was rather disappointing for the price paid. No walk in shower, just a tight bathroom with a tub, a king bed, and a closet (and a tv if that matters). oh yeah, and parking is an extra $14 in the parking deck... Parking deck has a 610 clearance that wont fit anything large/ lifted. Parking spaces are unacceptably narrow and cause great frustration unloading. One van near us parked well within the lines and still scratched their sliding door (on a concrete column) as the deck owners simply tried to fit too many parking spaces between concrete columns.

Very nice hotel. Would recommend. Went here for a wedding.

Nice rooms great views of the city but not worth the price

The Columbia Marriott is conveniently located In the center of Columbia South Carolina. It is easily within walking distance of all the court houses, the state house and good restaurants. Its own restaurant and bar are superb with good food, outstanding service and ambience. The concierge lounge has a great breakfast and hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the evening.What really makes the Columbia Marriott a positive experience is the staff. They are consistently professional and the staff goes out of their way to make sure that all of your needs are taken care of and make sure that your stay is remarkable and positive. When I’m in Columbia I always stay at the Columbia Marriott.

Walked in with my daughter who is pregnant (due any day) to use the bathroom. Front desk supervisor would not allow her to use the restroom since we were not guests. Have stayed at Marriott hotels many times for business but this one brief visit will stop me from using Marriott in the future.

Christian is a pleasure at the front desk. Shirley was great at check out. The lounge breakfast was very fresh. The evening desert was weak. Overall the staff was amazing. I my family felt very comfortable and the lounge staff was so attentive and thoughtful (I wish I wrote down their names). Thank you Marriott for another well managed property.

The decor was a little outdated.

Friendly staff. Clean hotel. Beautiful atmosphere inside and outside around that part of the city. In-house restaurant (a bit expensive but amazing food and bar open late) and an AWESOME diner thats accessible without going in the rain (East Bay Deli).

We had a very nice room and a wonderful stay. We visited for a cousins wedding and I think all of the out of town guest stayed there. We all met downstairs the morning after for breakfast. The food was great and the staff even better. I would recommend the Marriott to everyone.

Stayed here while in town for the Miranda Lambert concert. There were lots of staff members to help take care of us. Everyone was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Room service was good and came much quicker than expected. Very close to concert venue. Easy access to parking deck. Nice restaurant and great pool area. Took one star because there were a few cosmetic repairs that could be made in the restroom.

Marriott Columbia was fantastic. The overall space was nicely designed and kept in good shape. The staff was incredibly friendly. Associates working in the concierge lounge were especially kind, pleasantly greeting everyone they met and ensuring that they were taken care of.

Very nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable, with excellent location in downtown Columbia. Price includes parking, but the card given at check in did NOT work, so we paid for parking twice.

The best stay ever. The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy. I enjoyed the spacious room that the Marriott provided for my stay. The high quality of mattress and pillows chosen for rooms/suites made my sleeping experience GREAT; well rested the next day. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast prior to departure. Hotels location is the heart of downtown Columbia which is great for shopping, dining and entertainment. I would highly recommend Columbia Marriott to family, friends and coworkers.

Loved the Downtown Location and Atmosphere. Just about name it and youre within walking distance.Service was Terrific and Room was 5 Star.

Overall enjoyable, the staff and service were accommodating and friendly.The facility and rooms were clean and serviced daily with fresh linens.One problem which I did encounter was by mistake I left my Patagonia sweater in the closet of room 6014. I have left voice mails and am waiting a reply or phone call hopefully with some good news.

It’s an easy walk to everything you want to see in downtown Columbia. Friendly staff and the cleanliness I’ve come to depend on at Marriott. The rooms could use a update and I felt the food prep was not as good as in other Marriotts we have stayed at recently.

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The food was good. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset.

Thank you to the entire front staff for your southern hospitality and accommodating my many requests and upgrading me. As a platinum member the little things to make my visit comfortable is very much appreciative. As far as the hotel, the comments regarding the hotel is outdated is true. We got a standard king bed room. Was it a little smaller than expected, yes. BUT it was very clean upon on arrival. No issues there. Staff has been super nice. We ate at the restaurant and the food and drinks were GREAT! The brisket was so tender. And the salmon cakes DELCIOUS! Overall the stay had been nice.Could use some softer sheets. We did ask for a mini fridge and never got one. It took us asking 3 times for someone to say they didnt have any. Thats fine but it would have been nice for someone to say that sooner than later.

I have been staying in this hotel every time I visit Columbia. The hotel has extremely friendly staff: they make sure I get a good upgrade if available, make sure I get to hotel safe and sound if I come back late in night, make sure to prepare the room the way I like as shown in my app setting, make sure to offer the best breakfast and service In the club lounge here in town. If you come on Friday night you will enjoy Saturday local market right by the hotel in the morning!

No soda machines, valet parker is suspended but not noted on wed site you half to walk one block to there parking at a cost of $13 or park on the street and feed the parking meeter, roof top bar prices are way to high for food and get no side example 6 medium firecracker shrimp for $16 in a togo container and 6 wings with no side in a togo container for $14 and had 3 absolute and cranberry drinks in a short glass with ice for $11 each bill total $71 but room was clean with no microwave or refrigerator they said they are first come first serve the hotel is clean and the safe is very nice but it a old building with new paint so it feels small i will visit the rooftop bar for the view again but I will not stay again...

Loved it..point blank the end

We came to Columbia, S.C. for interviews and possible change in job. Therefore, this was a stressful time. We arrived during an exceptionally heavy time for the hotel which was at capacity. Our first room was nice, but the bed was a bit small for my wife and I. We were unable to upgrade to a king-sized bed that first night. Our interviews went very well and we opted to stay a second night. Sharlene at the front desk tied to get us another room with a king-sized bed, which she successfully did! In addition, we had a drink in the bar the first night and met a waitress named Sierra. She was also kind and very interactive. The most amazing thing was the next morning she was again doing her job at the bar, but she recognized my wife and I having breakfreast; and kindly came over to say hello and enquire about our stay. She just wanted to make sure everything with our stay was going well. Few people, if any have ever done this at a stay (which we frequently do) at hotels. Truly exceptional and dedicated staff at Marriott Columbia!

Probably one of the most worn Marriotts I have stayed at, but clean. The biggest problem is that they are attached to an apartment building and business offices. They leave the lobby open to the public 24/7. Homeless persons hang out in the lobby,drink the water, and camp out in the bathrooms for the lobby and conference rooms. Non existent security, poor camera placement. An associate of mine had his phone stolen from a table in the lobby outside of the conference room we were using. No camera coverage. And they are completely aware of the situation they are in, and chose to do nothing about it. Cameras are needed everywhere, and security should be present in multiple places. Will not stay again, and dont recommend it. One last thing, no room card is required to get to the floors with guest rooms. Privacy card on doors taken on my floor. Did not feel safe in any way.

We stay here once a year at least for special events when we dont want to drive home. Staff is always friendly. Very clean. Have never had a bad experience and its right in the heart of Columbia, so you can walk to everything.

The staff and meeting space at the Marriott was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. We had staff members who checked in on us frequently to meet any need we had. We had such a great experience at this hotel! Our conference was for 7 days with 200 people and the Marriott team was consistent with the quality of their service the whole time! We will definitely be back!

Great location....side city market

The location is convenient to downtown businesses including the university. Restaurant has a good selection of dishes, and the coffee is good. The fruit I had with breakfast was so fresh and delicious. The room is comfy but not modern. All the standard amenities.
