Room was clean. It was not an incredibly spacious room but it was nice. I like that the sink was not in the bathroom it was just outside of the bathroom. . I am not sure if they offered breakfast. But we did have a sliding glass door that led to a common area in the center of the hotel. I cant say I will return to this place for just place to stay. Although if we attend another concert at merriweather I will be sure to book a stay at this hotel.

The accommodations were nice. Check in was organized. The only complaint I have is that there wasnt a microwave in the room. There was a shared microwave on the same floor.

Average place to stay. Good location. Took too long to get help at front desk and checked in. Morning workers were nice and helpful.

Stay elsewhere.... this hotel appears to be an old Hilton Garden Inn (or the likes) that they chose to no longer keep in service - and for good reason (in a remote/hard to access location). With Sonesta taking ownership it looks very run down, dark, dingy and un-welcoming (no signage, lighting, etc). While the front desk staff was very friendly the hotel is in need of maintenance - AC units, elevators, furnishings and finishings in rooms. As some reviews have mentioned very musty and stale smell in the air... certainly a place I would not come to to relax and refresh (at least not again).... stay elsewhere.

Overall a good stay. The attendance on Saturday that checked us in was phenomenal.I worked with a few of attendants and was pleased with the service offered.The rooms were clean but they are very basic. My recommendation is if you are low on cash this is a great place. If you have a little extra pay and you will be a little more comfortable, microwave in room, unlimited access of hot chocolate, etc.Overall I am pleased and my stay was comfortable. Did not feel safe in this hotel, knock at door around midnight turned out to be a scary pizza guy. Wrong room...walls/floors are thin also.

The staff at Sonesta Select Columbia were incredibly helpful and kind. Especially Jean and Kaodi at the front desk. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable.

I checked in to this hotel for a change of environment, to get some work done remotely. I spent a few hours on the first day and went back home. I came back the following morning to get some more work done and saw a rodent running around in the room. I checked out immediately and informed the front desk, she simply said “thanks for letting me know, we’ll take care of that”. Suffice it to say, I’m never going back there. It is pretty cheap, if you don’t mind the rodents.

Positive: The room was very clean. Negative: Paper thin walls in the hotel room. You hear the guests next door breathing and the guests walking, running, and jumping on the floor above the hotel room. One microwave per floor is a sure way to spread a virus, although it might help you save energy .

The 1st room smelled like cleaner and there was a hair on my bed. We were upgraded to a suite but I couldnt run the AC for very long because it made the entire room smell musty and moldy. The cleaning crew doesnt wear masks. We checked out early.

The pool is closed due to the pandemic, the lobby door is locked and you must be buzzed in, the breakfast selection is basically nonexistent aside from some yogurt or something of the sort. Its a clean place, however. The pandemic changes are a little extreme for my tastes but its their prerogative, I wouldnt come back simply because of the pool closing and lobby door being locked but for the low price I guess you expect some things to be at a level less than the Marriott standards expected. The staff I encountered were professional but not friendly, indifferent is probably the best adjective. When stating my concern in the survey, the response was polite and professional as you would expect from a major American hospitality company but concessions were not offered or requested other than advice to stay at a sister hotel in the area next time that has not closed their pool. If you want a clean room for the night at a price that is fair, this is a good place, if you want to get your kids out of the house and have a minor getaway from the pandemic stress of every day life, this is not your place.

This place is like a pretty girl, but when she smiles, she’s missing 3 front teeth.We did 5 nights discount for Spring Break while visiting relatives and taking our kids to DC for the first time. Everything seemed new and clean, but there are a lot of weird gaping flaws.1) We chose this place for the indoor pool. We got in line to get our temps checked to enter the pool, but were told by the woman taking temps that the pool was closed to guests and that she rents it for private swimming lessons. She said, “Talk to the front desk.” And, yes, the front desk confirmed and we were told that guests could not use the pool due to covid.2) The ice machine on our floor only dispenses 1 bucket of ice per 15-20 minutes, so it pays to take elevator to the 2nd floor to use the machine that works good enough to fill your cooler and water bottles. I’d use the stairs, but they’re a long walk each way.3) There are no USB charging ports in our room. In 2021. Even the lodge at the state park we stayed at last weekend had that.4) There are weirdly missing fixtures, like doorstops. This leaves holes in walls and chipped paint. No shelf in the bathroom, so we had to pile clean towels on the floor and toilet.5) We got back to our room tonight and the fridge has frozen over and everything we left in it is warm.6) We tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt despite the overwhelming odor of marijuana when we entered the back foot by our room, but that pretty much characterized what was behind the curtain at every turn. Great Starbucks coffee at breakfast, but no protein or enough calories of any kind to get you through the morning. Friendly workers, but no actual investment from up the ladder. And why is there literally no signage marking where or what our hotel is named? Definitely a weird and disappointing experience. I would 100% not return or use any properties using the online Sonesta name.

I wish I took down the name of the lady at the desk that worked last night and then came back this morning. so I checked in with her last night and checked out with her this morning period She was absolutely wonderful. I met the shift manager I think she is and she was absolutely delightful in helping me.Due to Covid-19, they still managed to offer a limited breakfast! Kudos

Great value for the cost. Pretty nice place, for the cost. Rooms are far from soundproof, so its easy to hear hallway activity from inside the rooms. Pretty clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

So disappointed, and I am a Gold Elite member. Inadequate staffing. Slow service. No complimentary anything. Not what I expect of Marriott. I dont recommend this hotel. It is clean and functional, dont get me wrong. But the covid craziness has definitely taken a toll here.

Charged twice for my room.It took a week to get my refund after calling corporate. To put it politely the staff and management are incompetent. The pool was closed and there was no microwave in the room. So i went to the front desk and asked for take out menus which after calling all 3 places neither place delived to their hotel. Their idea of breakfast is one kind of yogurt and granola bars. They were out of coffe so i had to buy 2 ice coffees which cost me 9$. I have never had so many issues staying at a hotel for just one night. Check your accounts after staying to be sure they didnt over charge you.

Everything was ok, the hotel was okay, has a great restaurant behind it. The soap and lotion are great though. Nothing cooked for breakfast, just fruits and yogurt.

I stay here every couple months or so. The rooms are clean, spacious, centrally located to many business parks.The hospitality is consistent and timely. Check-in is always easy and friendly. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and this is by far the best option, I’ve found.

This is somewhat of a tricky review since in the US we are not consistent with hotel star ratings as for example in France. So this would fall in between a 3 and 4 star using those standards. However as this review relates to the amenities, hospitality and cleanliness rating, this place rates five stars compared to similar quality hotels. If you need to stay in between Baltimore and Washington, this place is great. Columbia also offers plenty of eateries, stores, movie theaters and such.

Nice rooms, work out room very small with not much equipment. Bistro services take awhile wouldnt count on a quick bite to eat here unless you come early for breakfast or dinner. They do have a pool and customer service was good.

The room was very nice and clean. Only complaints are very minor - no microwave in the room and the hot water pressure in the shower was low. The heater kept us nice and warm while outside temperatures were in the 20s. The lobby had a nice bar and bistro and the hotel is conveniently located near several restaurants. Also easy to get to many other locations in the Columbia and Baltimore area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Not a bad place for an overnight. Rooms were on the smaller size so I would not want to spend too much time there. TV selections were of the antenna variety. Bistro was decent for breakfast, but my colleagues said that for dinner it was not to great. Overall it seemed like the best option in the area.

A good hotel with a good bar and coffe shop. Has a little market in reception if you just need a snack. Free parking around the hotel. Clean hotel room with good sized and comfortable beds.There is also a swimming pool and gym.

The room is nice and comfortable. Everything was clean and all the included hygiene products were very useful. There is a comfortable sofa bed and lots of table space. However, the room was hot most of the time and quite humid. Also, the pool was always full of children, not guests but a lot of children taking lessons.

First time here and I will be returning! They really impressed me with the level of service at the price point!

3 stars because beds do not have anti-bed bug covers on the mattress. Courtyard needs to invest in those and also do away with the dust ruffle over the box spring.They also earn this rating from me because the only breakfast they offer is one you have to pay for. They dont have a free option that supplies a banana or something. Its either you buy breakfast from their lounge cafe or no breakfast at all.Rooms were clean, lobby was inviting. Loved how the room had a balcony, dont see those as often these days.

Really nice hotel, a little dated though. And compared to the other courtyard Marriotts Ive stayed at, this one has fairly rigid old feeling beds, and isnt kind of an unpleasant area to get to.

This is an older hotel, but the rooms seem to be generally in good shape. Im not the typical customer for this place (Im more of a Motel 6 guy) but work pays for it. Service the few times Ive encountered it has been quite helpful. The cafe inside seems to be adequate, but hotel-priced.

Nice hotel with good breakfast selection and a pool. Can be a bit noisy if a soccer tournament is in town but great for kids and families. Reasonable price for what it has to offer and compared to other local hotels.

Will not stay anywhere else now!! Clean rooms, the most comfortable beds, did not want to get out if it! Awesome staff! Came there with our hockey team this weekend and they had a sign there saying we love our teams with our team on there. Right next to that were complementary gatorades and granola bars. I am picky and we stay in some nice places but this will absolutely be my go to hotel because it was that good!! Will be back!!

Room was great. Very clean, modern and comfortable..We had a king suite with 2 tvs. Poor reception on both. Signal was bad and some channels didnt even have sound even if we could see them. Thats an odd problem to have in 2019.

Clean, quiet hotel. Stayed for youth Soccer tournament. Desk staff friendly. Breakfast included with stay not buffet and not youth friendly.

Overall good hotel. However, the staff should inform guests that the pool is used for large one-on-one swim lessons for toddlers at peak use time on a Friday evening until 9 pm when booking or upon arrival. It is unclear whether the kids are guests or non-guests receiving the lessons. But it appears it is a group contracted here. If guests, it is helpful to know this in advance. The indoor pool was a major factor among our choices for our large family and guests visiting of tweens/teens. As a result, we could not enjoy the pool as much and was quite restricted. Even the YMCA uses a pool for lessons separate than open swim for its members. Surely the Marriott can do better for its guests and Rewards members. Highly suggest any guests ask about how the pool is used at this location if the pool amenity is a factor in your selection.

The location is convenient to many restaurants, bars, and shops. We got upgraded to a suite, which was spacious with a comfortable bed. The front-desk staff made me feel welcome and appreciated for being a Rewards Member. We didnt make use of many of the amenities, but there is a pool, fitness center, and a restaurant on site.

I was not pleased with my stay due to us never getting a check in key for our room.The hotel was having a system malfunction and anytime we wanted to leave our room we had to be escorted back to our room by the front desk staff.This also disallowed us to be able to enter the hotel through the side or back parking lot doors,or enter the pool or fitness center without staff.When I check out and went to my car I noticed it had been side swiped and the rear driver light had a crack in it.The rooms were clean.However I would not return for a stay here with my children.

Lobby is not representative of the rest of the building. The hall floors feel like you are walking on blank boards. The light is dim and the carpets are a little worn. The room is clean but the bed was not made well. Most sheets did not fit or tucked in. The furniture is just to big for the room.

Our room was decent, everything seemed clean and well taken care of. The room had enough space. Though the TV could have been positioned better, and the bathroom layout was strange. But overall, not a bad room. Service was fast and friendly.

Awesome place!!

Had a mini overnight getaway with my family. We wanted something with an indoor pool and clean comfy room. Although we had a good time. I wasnt happy with the pool appearing to look old and beat up. The paint has chipped away at the bottom which gives the water/pool a dirty look. The water was also pretty warm. Which is fine if you like that sort of thing. But a little too warm(80 degrees) for a quick mini workout (laps). You become exhausted right away. The hotel room was clean. Sheets were soft and fluffy, the bed was ok. No musty smell. However, it was very stuffy in there. Which made my sleep uncomfortable.

I stayed here months ago and was charged for my room but also some strangers room. When I called the hotel about it, they wanted ME to collect from the person staying in the other room. They even gave me that persons personal information - shouldnt that be confidential? Naturally I refused and they never did the refund, what a horrible experience.

This team made my first business trip a real pleasure. Kendra at the front desk helped me get familiar with the property and was helpful accommodating all my needs. She was very friendly and customer service oriented, which is very refreshing. Cant wait to come back!
