This school is perfect for my daughter. She is part of the Lil Dragons class and has been with Capital Karate for about 2 years. The instructors are phenomenal, especially with children. They work through behavioral issues with this age group and do a fantastic job of encouraging and building kids up so that their self-confidence can start at an early age. They also incorporate real life scenarios and fundamental social skills into their weekly lessons (how to be a good friend, listening and focusing skills, anti-bullying, etc.). Well worth the investment.

I Love how they teach the kids home training, boost up their confidence, and reward them for their kind work in the community. Also teaching them self control.

Capital Karate provided my son with virtual group and individual karate lesson for almost 4 months. Our son is now going in person to karate and loves it. He is able to interact with others and get energy out. We are very happy with the karate skills and life skills he is learning.

This place for starters is a very professional organization that takes the time to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience and is treated fairly and respect. The instructors are very knowledgeable on both karate and krav maga. It doesnt matter your experience level, well worth trying out the class. You will not be disappointed and you will be challenged!!

Capital Karate is amazing! Our son goes to classes there twice a week and loves all the instructors. We also had his birthday party there yesterday and Mr Kenneth did a great job! They literally do everything for you, which was so nice. Our son and his friends had a great time!

Where to begin, our son loves Capital Karate! We started out with the after school program at school , have had and been to several parties there and has been going to karate classes at Capital Karate for 5 months, now. Ive been training here for several years, and earned my Black Belt under MIke Bank and the other fantastic instructors there. It was a huge confidence booster for a young teenager, and a fun way to stay in shape. Capital Karate is for the WHOLE family! My kids (ages 6 and 8) joined Capital Karate in January 2015. My daughters self esteem has improved dramatically since starting karate. Shes become confident, outgoing, and sure of herself in new situations. My son is listening better and helping around the house more thanks to the Good Citizenship Program.My kids are having such a positive experience that I decided to join as well. Capital Karate is the best Karate School in the midlands! My daughter has been going here since she was 3 years old. They teach more than just kicks and punches, They teach children and adults about self-defense, Self Discipline, self-confidence, Being a leader, community service, and so much more. Both of our sons have loved Capital Karate. While one is just beginning his training with Mike, our older son should earn his black belt by this summer. Mike and his instructors are wonderful teachers, leaders and mentors for our children. Martial arts have also been a tremendous help with balance and agility in growing both of our boys in the other sports they play.

Capital karate is the GOTO school in the area. We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Master Mike and all his staff. Not only are the classes fun, but the kids receive great character education as well. I fell in love with Capital Karate a little over two years ago when I came back up to college at USC. It has been a fantastic experience for me, and getting to know the instructors and staff has both opened doorways for me and led to some really great relationships. It is a family oriented environment and everyone there is warm and welcoming. If you are looking for martial arts lesson for your child or yourself i can not recommend a better place for it.

My 11 year old has been taking classes w the fantastic staff here at Capital Karate for 5 years now. Shes not exactly the most athletic child, but she does try. All of the instructors here, past and present, have encouraged her and corrected her form imperfections with kindness and guidance. Even though Capital Karate is the the closest extra curricular physical activity to my home, I would choose to drive 20 more miles to stay with this dojo. My younger daughter cant wait to begin

Capital Karate, has to be one of the best martial arts i have ever trained at!!Mr. Bank and his staff have a great program. The class was exciting and informative.The class was over before I knew it.

I have been an adult student for around 5 years. (I am on the north side of 50) I have taken a couple of breaks from working with Mike and his staff (little things like a motorcycle wreck got in the way.) I keep coming back. My wife always tells me the best exercise is the one you are willing to do. I am preparing now for my black best test, it is amazing how quickly time has passed.The workouts are challenging, the self defense instruction realistic and usable. The Karate forms are explained and gradually progress in difficulty, so you develop the skills you need by the time you need them.All of the staff are professional and approachable. I have never been turned away when I have asked for extra instruction or pointers. I cant sail through the air like a 19 year old, but the classes and forms are doable.There is a focus on sparring. Sparring is a point based light to moderate contact fight. This gives you the opportunity to practice what you are learning. You and your opponent wear padded protective gear so the risk of injury is very low. You develop timing and learn to see and react to aggression in a controlled environment. It is also a phenomenal workout.If you are looking for a fun environment where everyone including the school owner and head instructor are approachable. Where the other students are friendly and encouraging - this is the best place in the city of Columbia.

I have both of my grandchildren in Karate with Mr. Mike, Mr. Charlie, Mr. D, Mr. Kyle and Ms. Caitlin. The staff are super good with the children. They make learning fun. They instill good manners, good learning habits and promote self-confidence in the children. Not only do they teach the children how to protect themselves, they also offer a Movie Night for the children where they are fed pizza, watch a movie and play karate games for 4 hours once a month on a Friday night. Its a night out for the parents where the kids are having a great time, making new friends and enjoying a movie while the parents enjoy a night out knowing the children are well taken care of. I cannot praise this group of young people enough.

Capital Karate provides the martial arts training at my daughters elementary school. The instructors are all polite, knowledgeable, and do a great job of instilling a sense of confidence in my child, while teaching her to honor her instructors and helping her stay physically strong.

I served with Michael in a combat zone during OIF. He was the epitome of. The term Warrior. During our limited rest time, Michael would seemless untiringly volunteer his vast knowledge of combat skills and train women in self defense skills and would teach combat fighting skills to Americans , Australians, Japanese and Koreans on his own time. He was a great leader, warrior and ambassador for the U.S. He was always enthusiastic and eager to pass on his knowledge. Michael was thorough and patient in his instruction and is surely responsible for saving at least a few lives. I would highly recommend him as an instructor!

Mr. Mike is a wonderful instructor who cares about the students development as both a martial artist and a person. Hes passionate about and dedicated to the martial arts and he does not fall short in his experience as both a student of martial arts with over two decades of experience and an instructor (17 years experience). I took classes from him around 10 years ago and will never forget the importance lessons I learned while under his instruction (i.e. common sense before self defense).
