So I did business, and so did my family, with Catoes for many years. We’ve bought 3-4 mowers from them. The moment their owner went into retirement, their conduct of business hasn’t been the same. Two weeks of getting told different stories by different people one of my parts finally arrived. I got frustrated and Jeremy told me to not take it out on him but I could find a different supplier from now on. Don’t worry Jeremy I will find a new supplier. The internet is a heck of a weapon for finding parts. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because this isn’t how Mark ran the shop.Edit: Ben called me and apologized for the run around I got from the shop. He made things right, although he did not have to do that. There’s something to be said for business owners not letting nonsense slide. I really do appreciate Ben for calling me back and despite me not wanting to answer the phone I did, and I’m glad I did now. They’re going through a transition and it will take some time but I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else and from the sounds of it, Ben won’t allow that kind of stuff to continue.I’m upgrading the stars from 2 to 4 because they made it right in the end.

These guys are the best! It was time for me to get a new mower and I couldnt have asked for an easier experience. I will always go back to these guys over a big box store just for the customer service.

These guys are awesome! They help me get everything I need, when I need it. They are quick to give you a little extra to ensure you have an awesome shopping experience. I have been so pleased that I travel 45 minutes to 1 hour just to buy from these guys at Catoes Power Equipment. Excellence in all they do! My son loves the Stihl toys they carry too. I buy all my Stihl equipment here and wouldnt go anywhere else. I also love the Gravely mowers and plan to get one in the near future.

I spoke with Jeremy over the phone about the Toro 54”MyRide. He answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable on on the equipment. Trying to find this exact model was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I had called several other locations but with no luck until calling Catoe’s. Jeremy informed me that he had a few different mower deck sizes but only one 54” MyRide. I couldn’t get there fast enough. First thing Saturday morning I was on the road over an hour away and on my way to Catoe’s before they closed at noon. I met with Jeremy and went back and forth with a ton of questions and he answered them all flawlessly. ( now that’s someone who knows his job inside out ) He made my decision on making my purchase easy and without concern. Upon delivery, I was like a kid on Christmas morning and realized that the Boss Personally dropped it off which kind of surprised me. He made me realize my purchase at Catoe’s was a good investment and well worth it. Catoe’s is a Family owned business with 3 generations of experience and that’s the kind of place you want to do business. Thank you Catoe’s for a great purchase experience.

Not the most friendly place at the counter( no personality)or he had a bad weekend. Very friendly when I purchased my zero turn 54 in mower.I even recommended my neighbor, who purchased his mower from them. Not sure i would do that again.

Ive been going to Catoes for over 15 years. They have a first class staff AND they are knowledgeable about most small engine equipment. The family owned business is now in its 3rd generation of ownership. The grandson of the original owner(Ben) is a young up and coming owner. He brings a wealth of experience from the first and second generation along with fresh new ideas from his generation. I recently went in to purchase a new fleet of small equipment. He walked me through all scenarios as if I went one way or another. I made my choice based off of what he informed me on. I would and I do reccomend the place to everyone that ask me about service or purchase of small engine machines.

I went to Catoes power equipment to have mower repaired. When dropping off the mower an older gentleman with a white mustache had nothing but condescending looks and a bad attitude when I tried explaining the issue. On top of being a grade-A jerk. He couldnt even get the mower started. I had to do it for him. If you are going to be condescending I at least expect the competence to back it up. Rude, not helpful, and overall poor customer service.

Have bought thousands of dollars of equipment from here, will not purchase anything else. Drove an extra 45 mins yesterday to purchase another blower, so I didnt have to deal with them. Owner is ok, but good luck getting any help from anyone else. Guys behind parts counter are lazy and act like your bothering them. If they dont have parts in stock, they will only order them when they are ready to order them. Dont call when parts come in. Claimed they would be in Friday, then said Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. Trying to pass the blame to everyone else.

Just picked up my inherited brush cutter and chainsaw from being repaired. Looks like they did good work for a fair price on the brush cutter, and were honest about the chainsaw, not being worth the money to repair. Would have given 5 stars but didnt deliver as quickly as promised when I dropped off, and didnt call to let me know they were running behind. All things considered Im happy with Catoes and will definitely be bringing more business back to them in the future.

Went in to get apart for my weed trimmer that was purchased there acouple of years ago. Was told the part would be there in two days.When I went back in two days was then told they were no longer an Echo dealer and the part could take up to two weeks to come in! Guy behind the counter was rude and just shrugged his shoulders like it didnt matter to him with no apology. I will never do business with this place again. The knowledge and service is not what it use to be. Very sad !

Purchased a zero turn Toro in 2011. I love the equipment and had no problems until the end of last year. I tried to price a replacement deck and was accused of bothering them every year about pricing this part. I have not been there or called them since my purchase. I was treated very rudely by the counter man and I certainly will not deal with these bozos ever again. Thanks for nothing Catoes.
