Great place to work

All of the 5 star Google reviews made me call Smith Constructors. I truly wish I could be in the 5 star club. Sadly, Im not. I was referred to Smith Constructors and texted Chad because I needed some high quality chert. To his credit, he had chert delivered to me the next day (which is why I gave 2 stars). Which was great. Except, it wasnt really chert. It was a muddy, rocky mess. A portion of the bill was paid within two weeks of receipt with the idea that I could get together with them and work on a way of fixing the problem or discounting the loads of chert. After a long silence, weve gone back and forth on the balance for quite some time. I was offered a small discount on only a portion of the material delivered because I had paid for a portion of it and they split the charge for 6 loads into 2 invoices. After a fair amount of back and forth, I asked for someone to come down and look at the site with me and offered to pay the full balance if I could be told, while looking at the road, that it was quality material. I was told that they were far too busy to come out. Which is surprising- they have tons of time to call, email, and text invoices to me for the balance of a job poorly done. Besides, why come out to get full payment when we can just insist that it be paid without having to make the drive. All despite the quality of the materials and my expression of disappointment to them regarding their service. I dont generally leave reviews. This is actually my first. I just thought it unfair to anyone who, like myself, might look to Google reviews for customer feedback. Good and bad.
