Wonderful customer service and knowledgeable, helpful, kind employees! I went in early on a Monday morning after my cat spilled liquid on my fairly new MacBook Air. As a grad student, my entire life is on that device, and I was totally panicked. The keyboard wouldn’t work, although the computer screen and my login info. seemed to function. The employees were supportive and understanding and spent half an hour with me working on solutions. Nate in particular was incredibly generous and patient, providing me with a loaner keyboard for the week as well as clear advice about what adapter to purchase so that I could connect my laptop to an external keyboard. I will DEFINITELY be back if I have any future laptop issues—I highly recommend Personalized Computers!

Nate and Emmett were great! I brought my computer in and they both went above and beyond to help me resolve an issue with my monitor. Although they werent able to fix it in their store due to a warranty issue, they thoroughly examined what my laptops problem could be & gave me a stop-gap solution until Im able to get my computer fixed. 10/10, would recommend!

Fantastic experience with Personalized Computers.They repaired my cracked LCD screen on my laptop. Another place had given me a higher quote, were going to do a more expensive repair because it was easier, and ultimately werent able to get the part, but Personalized Computers were able to do a better fix for a better price. They know what theyre doing, and are kind and helpful, work quickly once they receive the parts, and explained everything and kept me updated during the process. Came in and had my computer fixed with in minutes! As a college student graduating in just a few weeks I was highly stressed out when my computer wouldn’t turn on, but they were nice and helped relieve it! I’ve unforunatly have had computer problems in the past right around finals time so they understood why I was so stressed about it and again we’re very helpful!! They not only fixed it, but explained the issue as well and told me what to do if it ever happened again, which I appreciate because a lot of times people tend to just fix and don’t tell you what to do that way you have to come back and that’s how they get ya! If ever any more issues with my computer I will definitely be going back!

While a different place wanted to charge me $60 just to look at my laptop, these people were extremely kind and honest with me. Even though it would be in their interest to tell me to fix my laptop, they explained it would be better to buy a new one. Trustworthy service!!

Took my computer in because it would shut off and I dont have the equipment necessary to troubleshoot different parts. They took a couple days to get it done, but when the guy called me he talked to me for at least 15 minutes about my computer and let me ask as many questions as I liked and didnt act like I was taking up his time. Not to mention the diagnosis was free. Very pleased with the service.

Jamie and the guys at Personalized Computers are great! We have purchased multiple computers and printers from them. They also manage the network for our business. They are extremely knowledgeable, competitively priced, and quick to react. I would strongly recommend them for any of your personal or business needs.

Noisy UPS and new fan fixed! Had new UPS from another dealer that fan was extremely loud (75dB). Other dealer had no options. Nate at Personalized Computers suggested replacing the fan. Nate replaced the fan and UPS is so quiet now. Fixed same day. About 1/8th of cost of buying another UPS. Not every place would suggest a lost cost option. Have been going to Personalized Computers for many years and searching many places they continue to be the best option

These guys told me they could swap my PC case in an hour and a half, for $50/hr they then proceeded to not contact me for days so I called them to see what was going on, and they told me that my power supply couldnt reach where it needed to. This is something that they shouldve realized immediately! They had my PC for nearly a week and accomplished nothing THEN charged me $35. This was infuriating.. I then brought the same issue to Nates computer shop (Who was very friendly) down the road, he had me order a $5 power extender and he will be installing it. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. Terrible execution and even worse customer service.

Good place to buy a new case if youre doing a new build and all your towers are a bit too small. A nice selection of processors and some other parts as well. They also know what theyre talking about and wont try selling you nonsense you dont need like certain chain stores. They also do repairs and custom builds, or so Ive heard.

Great experience with PC! It took a little longer to get it back, but considering it was the start of the semester at Mizzou I cant complain. My computer runs sooo much better now and its like I took it fresh out of the box. They even tightened the springs, just because! Its amazing how they took my headache of a laptop and made it brand new again!

After messing with my desktop computer for months, finally brought it in! A few business days later as good as new. Turns out a failing power supply and corruption by random shutdowns had me on the ropes. Chase was super helpful explained my options clearly, then offered if my choice left me any further problems, I could bring it back, at no extra charge for a complete wipe and reload.Sorry for the long post, but service like this needs to be shared. Cannot recommend them enough! My laptop wouldnt fully start-up this morning; took it to Tiger Tech at Mizzou who told me the LCD screen was out and sent me here. Personalized Computers quickly realized it was a different problem... for whatever reason my sticks of RAM decided to not work together anymore but could work separately. Quick fix was to take out the smaller stick... I dont even notice a difference in speed. Didnt try to sell me anything, even gave me a case for the other RAM. Best part: they didnt charge me! Clearly, these guys arent going to take advantage of anyone and have great technical skills.If I ever have another problem, I will definitely take it here. When it comes to computers, trust is priceless.

I recently had a big problem with my PC that the staff at PC solved for me in record time. They worked with me to recover all of my data and explained the whole process. They even stayed late to make sure I could get back up and running as soon as possible. I have complete confidence in their abilities. They are skilled, very nice, and took a terrible situation and turned it around. I will take all of my future PC problems straight to Personalized Computers! Thanks guys!

Do NOT take your business to Personalized Computers. I have done business with them twice now and have been extremely dissatisfied both times. After the first time, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and did not know where else to go anyway, but after the second time I will never do business with them again. When you bring your computer to them, they will promise you a quick turn around. However, they will then set your computer aside and not work on it for several days at all. I was promised on a Friday that I would have my computer by Wednesday. On Tuesday, they still had not even looked at it and on Wednesday the work was not yet begun. I had to pay $35 to get my computer back from them even though they had not done any work. Instead, I found PC Avenue on Grindstone which was able to do the same repair in 3 hours and get it back to me the same day. If you need work done on your computer, do NOT go to Personalize Computers and instead go to PC Avenue.EDIT IN REPLY TO OWNER:When I brought my PC in for repair, I specifically asked about the estimated time and WAS PROMISED that it would be done within about 3 days. I made sure to ask you about your current work and whether there would be any back log of work that would push back the time for my repair. Further, the claim that I came in a half hour before my computer would have been completed is an absolute joke. When I chose to take my computer it was because you had not even ordered the necessary part. I was still going to have to wait for you to order the part, have it shipped, and THEN have the work completed, which at that time you told me would take at least 2 weeks. I urge anyone reading my review to not have the wool pulled over their eyes by this guy.

I went to this place to look into getting a custom built gaming PC, it looks nice on the inside, but I stood there for 15 minutes awaiting any acknowledgement or any service of any kind and did not receive it. One person on phone, others just talking in the back somewhere. Ended up leaving due to lack of any customer service.

Took my Surface Pro 3 here after it died the first day of class. After a long attempt at repairing it, turns out the hard drive and motherboard were fried and nothing short of sending it back to Microsoft could fix it. The flat rates are extremely nice, since the amount of time they spent on my tablet would have cost a ton if I had taken it to a place that charges hourly.They lose a star because I was initially told it would take 1-2 days to run diagnostics and it ended up taking a week. When I complained I was told there had been 15 other computers in front of mine, which is fine but I would have preferred an accurate time estimate to begin with. Am also disappointed they dont sell 2-in-1s, as I would have loved to buy a replacement from them and support a small business.Overall I would recommend. They do great work, are very patient at explaining issues, and dont try to gouge you for price. Just make sure to ask for an accurate time estimate.

Its a Friday, a regular business day, I cant open any of my files, and the website shows you dont open until 10? Yikes? Previous service has been good, but this is unacceptable!

I’m extremely picky and typically don’t trust others to competently handle my needs. I built an incredibly robust workstation to create my animations and other multi-media assets for both my clients and PhD studies. When my system began displaying the BSOD (blue screen of death) it was in the middle of my furiously hectic semester and I didn’t have the needed experience to solve the issue in a timely manner. I thoroughly documented all of my problem related details and passed those on to Jamie who immediately put me at ease by articulately communicating his thoughts and rationale. The potential problem was pointed to, then confirmed once they evaluated my system. I was impressed with the level of knowledge, quality of service/professionalism and reasonable pricing. I HIGHLY recommend Personalized Computers and will go back without hesitation for my own needs.

Honest, efficient and reliable!

I cant recommend this company to any small business owner because quite frankly they made it more difficult to operate my business. When using them they took one of my office computers to their shop to repair and then when it was fixed wanted me to pay to get it back or come get it myself without explaining that there was an extra charge for this. I wasnt informed of the charges and this just felt like they were trying to rack up a fee for no reason. The other problem I had was an ungodly amount of hours spent on a problem that shouldnt have taken as long as it did. Bottom line: IT companies should help make it easier to operate small businesses and they made it harder, hid their fees, and even when I tried to work something out with them was unable to do so.

Extremely unprofessional. Asked them to convert about 40 CDs worth of pictures from an out of date file format to something more easily utilized (i.e. .jpeg) and then transfer these pictures onto an external hard drive that I provided. This was to be a Christmas present for my mom. While it seemed like they were less than enthusiastic about the task, informing me that they would work on it in between other jobs when they could, they had done decent work for me once before and I figured two months was a long enough period of time for them to finish. I called them the week of Christmas to see if the task was complete. They were still finishing it up. Unfortunately, I didnt get a chance to pick the hard drive up until today. They hadnt even done what I asked! They transferred the files from the disks to the external hard drive but didnt complete the most important part, converting them to an easy to use file type. Useless. I could have transferred the pictures myself. I was having trouble converting them. They admitted they didnt finish the task they were hired to do. Didnt even seem embarassed, remorseful, ashamed, nothing. The guy who checked me out said I could just buy them lunch for transferring the files. I should have paid them nothing, but they completed half the job so I paid them half of the money. I will never be going to Personalized Computers again.
