If I could give less than a star I would. To start off when we got there we were told our reservation for a 12ft. Truck was changed to a van which gives us less space than expected. We had already been using smaller than we wanted because that was all that was available. Then when getting to the deposit, he didn’t tell us the amount before charging the card but online when I made the reservation it said it would be a $400 deposit since it was estimated at $353. Nope it’s a $550 deposit. When I asked how he just rudely pointed to his paper and said that “this is what it says” no actual explanation or trying to help me understand why I’ve been told 2 pretty different numbers for the deposit. This is the 3rd time we’ve had discrepancies with budget truck and I was obviously frustrated so I told my husband we will not be using budget truck in the future. The man closed out everything on his computer and said “fine go somewhere else” I explained we still wanted to use today but I’m frustrated as we’ve had a problem everytime we’ve used budget truck. He retorted back that he’s never rented me a truck before (duh. I’m talking about the company not you specifically) and took it all very personally and said because I had attitude (I did not give him attitude, I was frustrated that I was kinda being screwed over) and being unprofessional (but not telling someone their reservation changed before they show up is professional?) and that he wasn’t going to rent to us. I walked out and my husband was able to deal with him and get the truck but I would absolutely recommend against this business and especially this location. Awful customer service and just unprofessional.

Absolutely horrible company. Hired movers for a local move and reserved a truck. Whenever I showed up there was no one in the office. After speaking with a customer service rep I was told that they are in fact closed and there’s nothing they can do and that there are no other trucks available. Would not recommend spend your money somewhere else. Ended up paying movers to just wait around all day for nothing. HORRIBLE!

Now I see why they have a 2 start rating. So I thought I was at Rent-a-Wreck when I picked up my van. It had dents on all four sides. Then I could not get a receipt for my rental when I dropped it off because they have to disinfect the vehicle and wait 2 hours before they read the odometer and gas gauge. REALLY!?And they cannot email the receipt because they do not have the capability. REALLY!? This is the 21st century. GET ON BOARD!Then I sent my wife down with a copy of the rental agreement to pick up a receipt and they cannot give a receipt to anyone not on the rental agreement. REALLY!?DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME WITH THESE GUYS!BUDGET, YOU NEED A DIFFERENT BUSINESS MODEL IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED!

Worst rental experience ever. Agent told us, “no need to inspect, I already did that”. Rear tires were completely garbage. Agent was comfortable letting us drive 1,000 miles on them. Roadside had to replace one before we left town at OUR insistence. Zero consideration for safety. See pics!!

These guys are unorganized and slummy. Charged me $35 plus fuel even though I had a full tank of gas. Left me waiting outside over 20 mins after they said they would be right out to look at the truck. Wouldnt let me be present during inspection. Do not rent or drop off from this location. Slummy.

Rented a truck THREE MONTHS in advance and was given a price we were told would never change. Closer to the moving, we call to check on the reservation to find they are charging way more than the price we were initially given. Now a few days before the move, we call to check in AGAIN and were told the reservation dates were changed??? Now yesterday when we were told we could pick the truck up any time after noon, so we come at 2pm and the office is closed. There are no store hours posted and the hours on google do not reflect their actual hours. DO NOT USE BUDGET TRUCKS. Huge waste of time and effort just to get screwed over in the end.

Rented a 16ft truck from Dallas, TX with 150k miles for a reasonable rate (+1 star), but then got all the way to Colorado when it started overheating. Couldnt handle the inclines, had to stop multiple times and ended up spending the night in Pueblo as there was no mechanic around that could help. Limped it to colorado springs to unload, a mechanic came the next day and said itll need to be really checked out once I return it. I had to reschedule my unloaders, who was booked the next day, and luckily they waived the fee as they missed out on money because I couldnt make it in time. I had to pay for hotel, and to top it off, the reason Im leaving the review for this location specifically, is because everytime I call, I couldnt get an answer to tell them my whole schedule is thrown off and the truck will be delayed back as I was delayed getting here. When I call it just rings and says I need to hang up and call back if I need to contact local office. So I brought truck back during the Google business hours that it says, but yet on the door it says By appointment only. I knew they would try charging my debit card for extra days the next morning so I blocked my debit card, and thankfully that worked. Here we are two days later and my card is still blocked until I can talk to the office.. I tried calling again and I STILL cant reach them. So, I think I was pretty reasonable before leaving this review.

Made a reservation a week in advance for our cross country move. Chose a time slot of noon to pick up the truck (choices went up to a 4:00 pickup). Got there at noon to pick up the truck and the place was closed. Not none person around. Called Budget and it took them 3 hours to tell us they didn’t have another truck we could get for our 15 hour move the next morning. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!! They almost ruined our plans entirely and cost is about $400 to rent a different truck. If we hadn’t have found another company to rent from we would have also been put another $500 in airline tickets. BAD BUSINESS AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN BY THE BBB!!!!

They gave us a truck that didn’t work. Didn’t even make it out of my drive way before electrical issues ensued. Roadside assistance came out and worked on it for 5 hours!!!! Only for him to call it and say we need a new truck. Of course by that time customer service and this location were closed. No help at all. We were basically left stranded. Horrible experience! Will not be a customer of this budget location again, or a customer of budget truck in general. I spent $2000 for what? I expect to get what I pay for.

In short: Great prices, truck and people.I made a move across town and used Budget Truck simply because of the good value and the fact that the only 1 star review left no comment, which I never put much faith in. Pick-up was quick and easy and the walkthrough of the truck was thorough and all current damage to the truck was noted (no major damage, mind you).I did what I needed to do and dropped the truck off easily after-hours where I just needed to fill out some info on mileage and time and that was it. I appreciate them making a dreaded day hassle-free.

Worst truck rental company in Colorado Springs. Be ready for mysterious charges to show up on your credit card from this company. Charged me for not filling the truck with gas. Filled the truck up about a block or two away from their location. Also charged me for after hours drop off, really! I will never do business with this company ever again. Its too bad I run a company that needs rental trucks every other week. I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy.

Dont do it, steer clear!!! I dont know how these people stay in business. Not even my insurance person could answer the questions on the form to decline insurance. The truck rental is $20.00 per day but add $70.00 for the insurance that they make impossible to wave. I would stick an ice pick up my nose and into my eye socket before I do business with this company again.

The manager at this place needs some serious customer service training. I rented a truck for around a week with a drop off date of 10/4. I still had some stuff on the truck on 10/3 and wanted to see if I could keep it for an extra day, so I called them and specifically said Hi, I was wondering if I could keep the truck for an extra day. What are the costs associated with that? The guy replied, well just charge you the daily rate. I said, ok cool, and went about my day. Well, I went to pick up the remainder of my deposit and lo and behold there was a twenty dollar late fee. I told the guy I had talked to someone that told me they would just charge the daily rate, and he basically said well you probably called after the time it was due on 10/4, and I said No, I called the day before it was due. He then proceeded to basically tell me there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call budget to get the refund. I called budget and they basically told me I needed to contact them since they were the ones who told me that. I dont care about the 25 dollars. I care about being lied to over 25 dollars and then being basically called a liar over it. Luckily, I work for a property management company with over 3,000 apartment units in Colorado Springs alone. Guess who I will tell them not to call when I have tenants leaving?

Great truck, great price! Rented a 16 box truck for a move across country (1703 miles from Divide, Co to North Carolina) got great mileage out of a fully loaded truck pulling a pop-up trailer (averaged 420-440 miles per tank at 60-65mph). The price was less than ½ of U-Hauls cost and literally ¼ the price of a Penske truck! I will never rent a moving truck from anyone else ever again!The only drawback was the ramp height/angle. It is about 3 at the top of the ramp/bed of the truck and kind of steep, but not terrible, so beware if you dont have a hand truck to move your boxes in and out.

Will never rent from Budget again. Reserved a Budget rental truck for 4:30 p.m. online. I arrive at the rental location at 4:34 p.m., thinking there wouldnt be a problem. As it turns out, the location on Garden of the Gods closes at 4:30 p.m. Why would Budget allow you to rent a truck when their locations close at 4:30? I did find one location open until 5 p.m. on Galley Road. I arrived at 4:58 p.m. (just before they locked the door) and asked if I could transfer my reservation to that location. I was told they didnt have any rental trucks available and even if they did, their system shuts down at 4:30 p.m. I ended up going with Uhaul and canceled my Budget reservation. The customer service representative was extremely rude when canceling.

The guy at this location believe his name was Jason, decided to add on a bunch of fees to my already finalized total from online then got super rude with me when I stated it told me a less amount on my confirmation inquiry, he decided to call me a “ B***h “ and refused to rent me the truck, and told me to leave! Then still charged me $50 for cancelling. Will never go with budget! Uhual was way better! And price matched !

CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT COMINGDON’T DO IT!!!!! TRIP FROM HELL!!!!26’ truck & trailer with our SUV, broke down within 5 minutes on the road, 3 hour delay, then broke down again 4 hour delay getting a response from Roadside Assistance AND THEN THEY COULN’T REPAIR IT SO WE HAD TO WAIT OVERNIGHT (ABOUT 16 HOURS) FOR A REPLACEMENT TRUCK. Yes, we had to UNLOAD AND RELOAD ONTO A DIFFERENT TRUCK. This was short lived because half way in to the trip THE TRAILER BLEW 2 TIRES. WAITED 4 HOURS FOR RA ONLY TO BE TOLD THE TRAILER WAS SHOT...disconnect trailer, tow our car, ANOTHER NIGHT IN A HOTEL AND GET REPLACEMENT TRAILER.A trip that should’ve taken 36 hours, took 4 days AND THEN BUDGET HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE US OVER $300 FOR RETURNING IT LATE. 😡😡

I have rented moving trucks here several times and have been satisfied with the service each time. Budget moving trucks always seem to be the best deal (look for coupon codes online) and the employees at this office do a great job of taking care of customers.

This was the worst rental experience ever and customer service has not been of any help . Go up the road to uhaul. Picked up rental truck Chumley says heres the keys it is the one facing north . Does not walk us out does not show us anything . Cracked windshield and poor tires. Not until loaded did we realize bad steering. WE were told if we got it back with an extra day they would refund the day . We rushed guy in AZ checked us in said the credit would show.. No credit and customer service said tough luck . So never again and dont rent the cars either as they are a corportate company

Budget Terrible, canceled the first time, ok well we will reschedule right. Call us on our way the second time to cancel. We finally find a truck from budget but we have to drive an extra hour to get it from another location or Clark the rude owner is going to give it to someone else?. And we are behind three day and four hours at this point. Get the truck from another location. Not really the cancelation that bothers me its the employees that are so rude especially since this was not our fault at all! Worst rental company ever!

Very unprofessional and deceptive. They show online discounts in initial quote, but refuse to honor them when they actually bill. They charge an extra $1 dollar for every moving pad returned even if they have been re-folded. They try to blame you for additional scratches and dents that were already pre-existing on their trucks (TAKE PICTURES!). Upon return they insist fuel is not topped off enough and add an extra $30 fee even if it is full. In the end they charged over $100 more than their initial quote.

The elder gentleman that runs this establishment is ORNERY, DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNDER-APPRECIATIVE of the customers and the business they bring him. He is visibly bitter to say the least. Due to the nature of my business, I have to rent trucks frequently. There was a time when I was renting 3-4 trucks a week from his location, sometimes more. This man gave my employees and I a hard time, every time we rented or dropped off. Seemingly finding reasons to hassle us. Sometimes hassling us about PERSONAL INSURANCE or the extra days we might keep the trucks but ALWAYS PAY FOR... The list goes on. He also charged me a $40 fee for not filling the gas tank. Which was a totally bogus charge, We always fill up right down the street. smh.... I guess we can add THEIF to the list too. You would think that spending hundreds and thousands of dollars every week would warrant you some respect or even a little appreciation.... not the case at this establishment. 0 customer service! This location is literally 2 mins from my business.... So why would I bypass this location and drive way across town if I need to rent a truck and inconvenience my daily flow of business you ask???? Because THIS LOCATION SUCKS! I wish I had 2 more hands so I could give this business 4 thumbs DOWN!

If I could give negative stars I would! I have rented from Budget on many occasions, and in all those experiences having to deal with Josh the front desk clerk was the worst I have ever experienced. First thing when I met him, he apparently hadn’t showered in a couple of days. It was not overpowering, but there was a pungent whiff of funk.When we came to the Budget Truck Tolling Info sheet, this is where his attitude began to emerge. I mentioned, You dont need to give it to me He replied, I have to. I jokingly stated, I’ll just throw it away, want to save a tree and all that. He huffily responded, I’m not losing my job because you don’t want a paper. I laughed and said, I’m joking, but obviously his capacity was lacking.I was driving a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, and tried to fit it on the car hauler by driving it on it. It wouldn’t fit (i.e. too long) so I went back into the office, and told Josh. He replied, you’re probably doing it wrong. I laughably said, not really possible.I asked, “Are there any other car haulers or car dolly’s in the vicinity of Colorado Springs?” Josh said, No there aren’t.” I said, Wow that seems crazy. He replied, I don’t care if you don’t believe me, it’s the truth. I replied, I didn’t say I didn’t believe you, it just seems crazy to me.”At this point I was beginning to doubt not only his ability to tell the truth but also the general reasoning abilities as a human. Which proved to be true, I found a car dolly at the Sears Budget in Colorado Springs only a couple miles away, and they also had car haulers as well. I lined up the car dolly to do this, because it would save me $100. So he was either lying or incompetent, I booked the dolly and contacted Jenny at the front desk. She was amazingly nice and friendly.He then called the people in charge of Budget maintenance, and talked with them. He told me that they said if I got the car dolly, it was not rated for the Truck to be hauled on it. I checked this on the budget website, and noted the only one authorized for tow was a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. This confirmed I was not about risk having to pay for a dolly as well as my truck should something break.Because the truck wouldn’t fit, I said, I can haul my 2003 Acura CL to Dallas instead. He replied, I don’t think you will do that, I think you will say you are going to haul the Acura and haul the Toyota instead.” Josh then called the Sears store, and told them that he would not combine the Sears Budget store dolly rental with the Palmer House truck rental, which would have been necessary to get both. This was the only truck available within 1.5-hour drive of Denver from Palmer House Truck Rentals.At this point I was put off by Josh essentially telling me I’m lying. I asked to see Joshs manager, he replied, I am the manager, and in fact I’m not going to rent anything to you at all. I said, why not. He replied, Because your attitude is bad. At this point I explained I was a pilot, I would not jeopardize a $35000 to haul it on a $5000 car dolly. I simply wanted my truck, and get out of there. I had to have the truck because I had ground school starting on Jan 3 in St. Louis, and I had to drive down to Dallas ASAP.I apologized despite my frustration, because it was the only truck available in a 100-mile radius, and I needed it to make it to my class in 3 days. Throughout this experience his demeanor was less than friendly, and his actions were as far from customer service as they could be. I wouldn’t hire him for anything involving the public, and can’t imagine anything in life that must be like to treat someone like that that is bringing a company business. It’s not what I expected, and definitely an effective way to represent a business.

Budget is a scam. Charged me 389$ for 2 days late that was pushed to three for some reason. I did the math and it came out to 255 but apparently the hand truck alone adds another 140 dollars for two to three days. All information and pricing should have been put out from the get go. If I knew I had to pay 400$ for returning the truck 2 days late I would have put my stuff in storage. It also sucks because it was New Years so I was still trying to move into an apt which is why I was late. But terribly disappointed and shocked of the high fees. Especially after already paying almost 900$ to get the truck in the first place.

Horrible service. We were in from out of town and needed to return a truck we had rented, we called and asked what time they closed the man on the phone said 4:30 PM. When we arrived at 4:10PM they were closed. Now we will be charged and extra amount do to theyre poor service. Do not use this service they dont care for the customer. Would not reccomend.
