This is one of the best BJJ gyms in Colorado. Clean facility, excellent instruction and great gym culture. This is a great academy for all ages and skill levels. Tyler, the owner, is extremely trustworthy and his pricing is very competitive for the area. If youre an experienced grappler, he can definitely help you sharpen your skills. If youre new to the sport do not worry, he makes sure every session runs as safe and smooth as possible. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends.

I was in town for a little over a month and needed a place to train. As soon as I found Kraken, I knew this was the place I wanted to stick with. Everyone from Tyler, the instructor, down to the newest white belt was awesome. I highly recommend Kraken BJJ to anyone in Colorado Springs who either needs a new place to train or someone just starting Jiu Jitsu.

I was competing in a tournament in Colorado Springs and stopped asked to check out their open mat. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. It was a great experience. Definitely would want to come back.

What a great place to train. From my first day stepping into the unknown I have never felt more welcomed. Taking that first step can be tough but these guys make it easy. Very organized and fun classes for adults and the instructors are fantastic with the kids. My kids absolutely love this place as well.

Was visiting Colorado springs to see my family and they welcomed me with open arms. Very friendly gym environment with very solid techniques and some nice hard rolls. Had a blast training here.

Kraken is by far the most welcoming bjj gym. Every part of it is right on point from the training to private lessons to the bjj family which you will feel adopted by. Tyler is an amazing coach always paying attention to every member while still providing a well rounded class and helping to perfect each technique. The culture here is team first. It is the highlight of my day and has built my confidence so much!

I signed up for a week long trial without really knowing what I was getting into. What a great experience. Everyone was really nice and helpful. I walked into my last lesson ready to join.I unfortunately can’t join at this time because some of the holds in my last class caused issues with an old shoulder injury. This is going to be true with most grappling martial arts and isn’t specific to Kraken.If it weren’t for the shoulder issues, I would be a member. I’ll reevaluate after I can stabilize it more.

Im in town for about a week and a half and was checking out places to train, and Im glad I came here. Josh and Donald are very gracious to new guys like me and quite knowledgeable. I also really appreciate how they focus on concepts, and it shows in how Josh plans out his classes. On the fitness side, Josh is also a great coach and will get you in shape. Another thing thats nice is that you get to train directly with the top instructors. Check it out...but dont stop there, keep showing up!

There is a lot to say about Kraken. The location is absolutely clean and the instructors are continuously making sure it stays that way. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and very personable. Finally, the lessons are extremely tiring and always fun. I definitely recommend anyone interested in BJJ at least stop by and check this location out.

Definitely one of the best gym I have been to for BJJ. Josh breaks down the steps of each move and explains in detail why each step is needed and what it does. No egos everyone has been amazing and super friendly and helpful. It is a great place for both experienced and those new to the sport.

Well-taught classes in a clean environment. There is a variety of teaching styles but people are always willing to answer questions and help students improve.

Small enough class size that you get the proper amount of attention from the instructors, but large enough where you have options for partners. I’ve been training with Professor Lanier for the past 2 years, the environment has been perfect and helped me grow in Jiu Jitsu as well as a person. I came in with the goal of competing in tournaments and making progress in the sport. Within the first year i had podium finishes at 3 out of the 4 tourneys i competed in! If you put in the work, he will help you get to your goal!

It’s an ok academy, not a lot of structure in the layout. More emphasis spent on self defense in the fundamentals then actual Jiu Jitsu. The instructor is brand new black belt with his first school - it’s a learning environment for everyone. The good is there is plenty of opportunity to learn with 3 classes a night; the bad if your getting back into shape or not on the up out the gate your kinda pushed to the back of the line. Desicions in progress had changed twice while I was there. To put blatantly, the first student to sign up in the 2 years this school has been open is still a white belt with no stripes

Professor Lanier combines years of experience with youthful enthusiasm to create a very driven and dedicated organization. With a wide variety of available class times, Kraken offers the opportunity to provide instruction to an adult audience with almost any shift schedule. As an adult student with prior experience in Judo, MMA, Law Enforcement techniques, and Army Combatives, Kraken isnt my first school, but ranks at the top of the training I have received.

Kraken BJJ is a great gym to train at with a great family atmosphere. The professor, Josh, is very knowledgable and ready to help his students learn and progress as a BJJ technician. The students are very welcoming to new students and only want to help with each others progression. I highly recommend Kraken BJJ.

Awesome BJJ gym with legit instructors and athletes. Small and new they offer a lot more for less than other gyms and the instructors are just in it for the love of Jiu Jitsu. Even if youre at another gym, come check these guys out so you can diversify your game (no ego there!). They even bring other coaches in to help with wrestling/judo/fitness/etc. They train gi and no gi and they now offer morning classes. Go check them out.
