I have been using Alamo for a couple years now and never have had an issue with them till our last trip we took last month for 3 weeks. We got to Colorado Springs picked up our vehicle.. everything was going good. They couldnt upgrade me to a bigger vehicle so they gave me a discount. When we got to our vehicle we were about an hour away when we noticed on the windshield that it said EXP tags. So I finally called and they would change our vehicle with expired tags but I had to drive an hour out of my way to pick it up instead of picking up another one at our new destination. After showing up to the place an hour out of our way. We were informed that the tags were not EXPIRED and the lady was rudely yelling at us that they dont have any cars for us to take. I walked into to the counter where the rude lady followed me, yelling at me and the lady behind the counter that there were no vehicles for me and that I am at the wrong counter ( I went to the Alamo counter) anyway after a manager finally showed up we just gave me the crappest SUV he could find. Then I nicely asked if he could pull our other vehicle around so I could move everything over to the new vehicle. He said he would and NEVER showed up with the car. So my 2 kids and I made the trip back and forth multiple times to move things. When leaving they never changed my paper saying I had a different car so the lady at the gate was rudely asking if we even have the right car or if we just took whatever we wanted. I honestly dont know if I will ever deal with Alamo again after this.

First and last time renting from Alamo--at least at this location. For reasons outside of my control, my flight was delayed. By the time I arrived at Colorado Springs, the Alamo rental counter was closed. I get that keeping extended hours isnt ideal, but it seems like poor business practice to close before a customer can pick up their vehicle due to a delayed flight. Another vendor was still open, so I was able to rent from there. Got a nicer vehicle at a much lower rate. Otherwise, I might have been stuck at the airport.

She’s very courteous, professional and understanding. Our situation was budget rental basically failed to rent us the vehicle we reserved and paid for. Also wasn’t so helpful on trying to find us an alternative. I’m very happy that Nancy at the Alamo rental was there to help us. Would definitely and highly recommend Alamo rental at CO airport and most definitely recommend talking to Ms Nancy Q. Now my family is enjoying our road trip. Thanks again Ms Nancy Q!!.

I rent cars two to three times per month. Every time I rent one at Alamo the decline my credit card and I have to use another one. This has happened three times even when there is a zero balance on the card. When I call the credit card company they say there was not even an attempt to charge the card and they would have approved it if it did. They are saying it is Alamo that is declining it. Well since Alamo doesn’t like my business I will take it elsewhere. Goodbye Alamo

My family and I planned a weekend trip to Colorado months prior to leaving and we had paid ahead of time for the vehicle. We had two more people join us so I modified our order and upgraded the vehicle. Upon arrival, we tried doing self check in where the machine was trying to charge us all over again. Knowing that we had already paid ahead, we figured it was a technical issue so we went to the customer service desk. We had a kind woman who did not know how to explain what was wrong with our rental. She called her manager over and he was a tall man who didn’t have good mannerisms. He was basically trying to tell me that my $200 was gone and that’s it. He was still trying to make me pay full price for the vehicle. He said my issue was with my bank. I showed him both of my confirmation codes and my bank statement to show they took my money and never returned it. He still insisted that my money was gone in such a nonchalant attitude. I went outside to speak with my family and everybody was confused since I had both confirmation emails and codes. I went back in to speak with them but he was gone and it was only the woman. She tried calling him again for help and I could tell by her body language and how red her face got, that he was in a bad mood and just did not want to deal with us. Thankfully, she tried taking this issue higher up. Nobody could figure out the issue. She came back and told us that the help team was going to look into it more and if I just paid the remaining balance aside from my ticket, we could take the vehicle. Completely understandable. I am only giving two stars SPECIFICALLY because this young lady tried so hard to help and was able to get us in a vehicle. The manager is the reason for the loss of the rest and also the technical problems as to why my payment was not linked in my account. I will never rent from this Alamo again. I highly recommend reading reviews before going through a company. Not every branch is good. And obviously, their reviews are not good either.

Our car rental was reserved for 0600, when we got there it was 0700, they did NOT have a car ready. They said it would take 30 minutes to clean and would call us when one was ready. Nobody called and then we showed back up and the woman at the counter (Malissa) now says there is a $200 deposit. We frequently rent cars from this Airport and have never had to make a deposit and she stayed arguing that they always have one. BAD customer service from ALAMO, and Malissa at the Colorado Springs Airport.

This might be one of the worst customer service experiences in my life. The local Alamo that I rented from completely messed up the paperwork. I booked the car for a trip to take care of my father who lived 10 hrs away. Had to fill up a tire on my drive there, woke up the next morning to a flat. Because the paperwork was incorrect, there was no record of my rental with roadside. They would not come fix the flat. Messages were left at the local office and national office says I had to wait for them to fix the paperwork. I am 10 days from date I recd the vehicle and they still havent fixed it, have not called me back and national will do nothing to help. There is so much more to this story and countless hours on the phone, etc. This was an incredible disturbance to a trip in which I was supposed to be on the helping end, not the helpless end. So frustrating.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. If I could give negative stars I would. Do not rent from here if you want to be lied to and ignored. I had to extend a rental by a day, over the phone they told me it would be under $40. When I dropped off the car they charged me $260 for the extra day, which wasn’t even a full 24 hours. I have been trying to contact customer service and I keep being told someone will be in touch and they never do, it has been 3 weeks. I will be sure to tell all my friends and family to NEVER use Alamo rental car EVER.

Great customer service and just really friendly. I was upgraded to a Cadillac XTS and drove away. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. When I returned the car on 1/5 at 10am, the process was just as smooth. I was greeted at my vehicle and, after a quick inspection, I had my receipt in my email and I was headed to my flight. I rented a car over a month ago and just received the damage claim. Because of covid there was no agent to do a walk around. It’s been a month and the mileage they sent me from when I dropped it off at has 30 more miles. Now they are trying charge me the damage for the car that was already done when I picked up. I don’t understand how they can over a month later decided it’s mine to pay when it was there already. Sounds like they are just going to keep playing this scam to every person that drives this car. We were traveling to Breckenridge Colorado for vacation and spent a few days in Colorado Springs with relatives before driving to Breckenridge. We rented a Ford Edge online.Alamos rental agent was friendly, the area was clean and the pick up process was quick. The agent upgraded us to a Volkswagen Atlas. The car was easily found in the rental car lot and was clean. The car performed really well in several road conditions (gravel one lane roads, rural roads and highway mountain driving). The return process was also quick. The Agent for returns was extremely pleasant and represented Alamo well.I would definitely rent from this Alamo rental location again!

I wanted to rent a car for a full week out of Denver airport. We were planning of traveling around the area and our first stop was Colorado Springs. After looking online, I saw that it was cheaper to rent a car for one day from Denver , then drop off the car in Colorado Springs. Then re-rent the car for the remainder of the week at a reduced price, dropping the car off at the Denver airport. Knowing this was a kind of pain to do, I asked the counter person at the Denver airport if I could just have the car for the whole week at the same price. She said she was not able to do that, but she suggested calling the Colorado Springs location and maybe they could keep me in the same car for the rest of the week. The next morning I called and they said I would need to come into the airport and write a new contract for me to be in the car. So, we went into the airport, parked the car, went in, re-wrote the contract, drove off in the SAME CAR that we rented in Denver and got exactly what I requested in the first place but Alamo made me jump through all these hoops to do that. I am an Alamo member and just think that was stupid to have to make me do that to keep the same car at the same price. It didn’t ruin my trip but it made me question my choice of Alamo for future trips. Why would you want to make me question my next decision to rent? I was happy with the counter agents, I was happy with the car, I was happy with the minimal time it took for the paperwork process, why would you give me enough of a problem to make me question my decision for a future rental.

Neither would they take mine (the husband who has our address that reservation was made with. But doesn’t match my wife’s who made the reservation name. She used her maiden name.)For $100 they at first tried to keep our money that we prepaid with. I was finally able to resolve it and get the reservation cancelled. Went to booths up to Alamo. They gave us a better car. Cheaper price that INCLUDED the full coverage insurance. Budget would have cost another $250 to get it. And took our debit card. So easy we were done and driving a practically new Cadillac CTS within about 20 minutes of when we first started the process. We were very pleased. Thank you Alamo

Renting from Alamo at COS airport was relatively simple. They did not have an express pickup for their frequent renters. Everyone has to go to the rental counter for their contract and keys to the vehicles. Cars are close, just across the street from the terminal building with no shuttle bus required. We rented a full size SUV and we were totally unimpressed with the Ford Explorer we received. Sluggish acceleration, poor gas mileage and vehicle feature controls not easily understood. Would not rent an Explorer again if we can avoid it.

I reserved a car (for 1 day rental) ahead of time but when I went to pickup the car at Alamo COS airport location I was told that they don’t have a car for me so they returned the credit card and drivers license. I told them I took a $50 Uber ride from Pueblo to come here to pickup the car. I stood there for 5 min and when I started calling the global customer service then another representative spoke up and helped me with the car.I went down to pickup the car, but car wasn’t ready for me and arrived after about 20-30 min wait. I was handed off the keys and said goodbye.Less than 24h later, when I returned the car, 2 different representative come one after the other and ask if everything was OK. When I said everything was OK, then one of them points out to a scratch at the back bumper. I said I didn’t do it and it was there before. He said I must caused it because I didn’t point this out earlier. I said there was no walk thru done or mentioned by you guys. I mentioned that from the defect/failure mode, you can clearly tell that this is not something that happened within last 24h (i.e., it’s not a fresh wound). This is something that must have happen much before. But, he didn’t like that answer and refuse to investigate if this could have happened before. I asked if they had pictures from the clean shop or video footage of the area so we can go back in time of my rental pickup and prove that it was there before. He unheeded that request as well.Fast forward, 2 weeks later, I get a bill for $1012.21 in the mail for a damage I didn’t cause.I don’t know if these guys are uncompetitive that they can’t tell what’s correct.I don’t know if these guys don’t have soul that they don’t know what’s right and wrong. From the behavior, it appears they are cheaters! I strongly recommend to DO NOT RENT CAR FROM ALAMO.Rental agreement # 64652859I am attaching an image of the damage. This car was always parked in proper parking spots with nothing behind it. I wonder what can cause this kind of damage, which seems to be multiple scratches up and down. White streaks in the damage prove that this is something old (salt deposit over period of time or polymer’s slow crystallization or slow crazing).

Never rent a car from here or Enterprise theyre owned by the same company. I went ahead and rented a vehicle online 7 days before my day to leave. I used my PayPal debit business MasterCard to pay for the rental. A day or so later I went ahead and did the early check-in filled in all my information and card info to make sure everything was okay and a car would be available for me. The day of the rental at 9 in the morning I contacted the Alamo office and double-checked to make sure that my card went through and worked and that they would have a car for me so I wouldnt waste money renting an Uber and being stuck. I was told there was no problem payment went through and they would have a car ready for me at the pickup time of 1 as I had booked. Upon arrival they had no vehicles for me to rent whatsoever or for anyone else. Then they stated that even though they charged my card $500 they could not rent me a car? I asked them why and they stated because it was a debit card and not a credit card. My next question was then why did you rent me the car in the first place. I stated that I had done the early check in to make sure there was no issue with the card and then even called first thing that morning and spoke with one of their representatives at the location to make sure that the card was fine and that they would be renting me a vehicle and I wouldnt be wasting money on an Uber. The clerk said there was nothing she could do. So I asked for a manager and she said there wasnt a manager available. She gave me the branch managers business card so that I could call him to try to rectify the issue. As I was on the phone sitting with my son trying to reach their branch manager. All of a sudden, out of the blue the branch manager walks up to me and introduces himself as mr. Tacket. He was there the entire time in the back avoiding the issue. Once I started speaking with him he was very rude and short with me. He kept stating that he understood what I was going through yet didnt care and wasnt willing to help out or refund my money. I kept asking Mr Tacket if this was a policy why did they even accept my reservation in the first place? Especially when I went ahead and at three different times contacted them to verify that the payment was fine and a vehicle would be there for me! We were at the airport and all of a sudden I noticed police officers surrounding the area. Then Mr Tacket became even more boisterous and rude, continuously entered my personal space and was seemingly egging me on to possibly start an altercation. After wasting all of my time and morning and ripping me off for $500 I had to pay for an Uber to get home. I wasted $60 in Uber rides. On the way home speaking with the Uber driver he stated that I was the fifth person that week that Alamo has done this to! They knowingly will Rent Out Cars to people, take their money, and then not have a car available. As I walked up to the counter I could hear them laughing when I asked for a receipt. I sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for 3 employees including the branch manager to produce a receipt and they could not? The branch manager was on the phone and the other two employees were both working on a computers yet could not get anything done. All of this which they thought was very amusing! Very rude people horrible service and Liars at best. They tied up my money for over a month as I tried to get my full refund. The refund policy is 10 to 15 business days. This was on December 3rd right before the holidays on my holiday vacation. Ive rented cars before never had this issue when using Budget Rental. I would stay away from this company at any cost regardless of wether you use a credit card or not. This company does not care and only wants your money and their customer service is non-existent! Do yourself a favor and rent from Budget Rental. Ive used them many times with the same card and have never had any issues. Alamo rental got me once but never again!!

I have rented from Alamo in the past and had been satisfied, however this time I chose the prepaid option to save about $15. I ended up having to cancel my reservation and come to find out they buried in the fine print that any prepaid reservations would incur a $50 cancellation fee if cancelled. I called to speak to someone in customer service. They seem to be in another country and did not speak great English. They explained to me that thar i had agreed to the terms and conditions and there was nothing that could be done to refund my $50. I did ask them to take note that I had rented from them nearly a half a dozen times in the last couple of years and they still wouldnt do anything despite my loyalty and previous rental history. HORRIBLE customer service. I rented a vehicle through Expedia and purchased collision damage protection. Unfortunately, I was in a minor accident. Alamo brought me a new vehicle right away. Later on, I discovered that they treated as though (1) I had made 2 different vehicle reservations, and they were charged the daily rates which is much more than what I paid Expedia, and (2) they tried to charge me for returning the first vehicle at the wrong location. Altogether they OVERCHARGED me by $1,197. I called customer service FOUR TIMES over the following few days to have this fixed. All four representatives agreed with me that I had been overcharged-- but they had no power to do anything. It had to be sent back to the Branch Manager at the COS airport. I was first told that the branch manager should call me within 24 hours, THEN I was told that they had 7-10 days. As of Day 10, no one has contacted me, and they still owe me the $1,197. (Note: They were not charging for the repairs-- thats something handled by a different department through the Collision Protection I bought from Expedia. These were just bogus rental fees that someone made up.)

I certainly didnt argue with her because I assumed it would be at least a Ford Escape, I didnt know there was anything smaller. I was wrong, when I got to the car it was a Ford Ecosport. That SUV is very small and nowhere near as roomy or in the same class as aToyota Camry. I said something to the guy on the lot and he just shrugged his shoulders. I didnt feel like arguing with them so I just took the SUV. When I returned the SUV the guy asked me if everything was ok with the car, I once again voiced my displeasure with her substitute vehicle. I received another shoulder shrug.

Almost every stop we had to fill the front tires and the alignment was terrible at times, making it scary to drive. The thought of having to drive this car back makes me very uneasy. But with no other choice because the closest Alamo has no other Premium SUVs that can accomidate our family. And now we are missing valuable time with our other family members who traveled just as far, because we have been sitting here at Tire King, in Fort Myers, FL for hours, waiting for the tires to be replaced.Thank you Alamo, for making our car rental experience with your company terrible, and for making us lose hours with our family that wecant get back!
