Man I cant even begin to explain how amazing these guys are. My girlfriend and I had to pull over multiple times because our car was overheating. We by the grace of god found these guys 2 minutes away from where we were. He was able to get us in right away and fixed the problem for an extremely reasonable and fair price. Went to Floyd at First Rate after BMW quoted me $14000 for repairs but couldn’t tell me what the specific problem was. Dropped my car off and Floyd let me know exactly what the problem was with the car and it only cost me $1555. They took the time to really look at my car and diagnose the real issue not just hook it up to a computer and spout off what it said. I am beyond pleased at the quality work and the diagnostic assistance from Floyd and First Rate. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and will use them again for all of my vehicles in the future. I have trusted many auto shops in the past and unfortunately I learned my lesson when I didn’t call Floyd! I have known Floyd for over 20 years and I have always used him for everything from tires, to alignment, and even minor body damage. I have never been dissatisfied with any service I have received and have NEVER been over charged. I have worked in an auto shop and done the billing, I know that most places try to get ever penny out of you. Not at first rate auto! They make sure that you are satisfied with the work and the don’t nickel and dime you! Honest, precise, and you always feel like family! If I could give 10 stars I absolutely would!

Had my 2006 element to 3 different mechanics and spent thousands trying to get rid of an engine misfire. Finally tried first rate on the recommendation of a friend. Dropped it off on a Wednesday and had it back with no misfire by Friday. Great service and excellent communication!

Had to get my car check engine light checked. They diagnosed and fixed the problem within a few hours. Floyd kept me up to date on what the problem turned out to be and the estimated time and cost to fix. Will definitely be my car place from now on.

2001 Chevy Venture van had ABS and Trac Off lights on for 2-weeks... turned-off yesterday... so I brought in for potential repair.First Rate Auto charged $55.75 for 15 min. DIAGNOSTIC... but did not DISCLOSE to me that if I do NOT purchase the AC/DELCO 18078137 ABS module from them (full retail @ $964.81) they would not install the same original part purchased any where else (due to their insurance policy stipulation) (I sourced for $500).Additionally, this First Rate auto repair shop does NOT credit DIAG fees towards repairs as do most shops nationwide. I even called (2) other auto repair shops in Colorado Springs (with 4.7+ G-Map ratings)... and they do credit their diagnostic fee toward repair.I spoke to both Floyd and Brad at First Rate Auto... and they both strongly defended their position on both not installing customer resourced parts... not providing disclosure... and not crediting diag fees towards repairs.First Rate Auto is entitled to do business any way they chose... and I also and NOT obligated to like it or not write a straight forward review without them accusing me of BAD MOUTHING their business.Let the reader be informed and decide who they choose to give their auto repair business to with open eyes. Thank you.....................UPDATE: RESPONSE TO SELLER COMMENTS:1. I dont consider your price of $964 a viable option to market price of $500.2. Sellers response demonstrates SELF-SERVING interest only... I will go elsewhere.

Had them do a compression test and a leak down test and they did it fast and at a great price. Every other shop said about $200 for a compression test and $200 for a leak down test so that’s $400. They did it for less than half that for both. I highly recommend you go here they have great customer service and know what there doing.

Floyd and Brad are the best you’re going to get in the Springs. They are fair and friendly, I have been to a couple shops in the area but once I found them I haven’t gone anywhere else.They don’t nickel and dime you. What they say is what you get, and they are always honest about their work. My car is kind of a old pierce of junk, but they have kept it running for me so far. I won’t be taking my cars anywhere else. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

The gentleman at First Rate Auto Solutions are phenomenal! My water pump went out on my vehicle right before the Thanksgiving holiday. I was stressed out but not for long. They got my vehicle repaired the same day! They are fair & affordable! Weather your vehicle needs an oil change or a water pump they’ll get it handled. I definitely recommend them!

My daughter has been going to Floyd for auto service for a few years, and has always been very satisfied with the results. When I recently was in town visiting her, I needed major engine service (head gasket failure). She recommended that I go to First Rate Auto Solutions, where Floyd now works. They were able to repair the car in less than a week (and this is a major repair job); the price quoted (and charged when finished) was significantly less than the quotes I received from a chain repair shop, and from a franchised new car dealer of this brand. So far, the car has been running smooth and cool after the repair.Floyd is very professional and courteous, capably explains the problems and possible solutions, and seems to really care that his customers are very pleased with their service experience.I highly recommend Floyd, and First Rate Auto Solutions, for car service needs.

First rate is always very professional and friendly. They give you a full break down of issues and explain what is and is not needed to be done instead of just giving you a list of issues with your vehicle. Floyd and brad are great at what they do and I, personally, would not take my car anywhere else, not even for a basic oil change.

I had a rattle with my 2008 Nissan Versa. I took it to Floyd and Brad and they told me that the Idler arm was flapping causing the rattle. They replaced the Idler arm and I drove it home. Within a few hours / days, it started rattling again. I took it back swearing that it was now my tailpipe hitting against the frame. I live quite a way from their shop and so I lived with the rattle for a few months.When I took it back, thinking they would stop the tail pipe from hitting the frame. When I got to the shop, they said that the rattle was the Idler arm and replaced it under warranty. I took it back home and the next morning my wife was ready to kill me because it was rattling once again. I called Floyd and told him that I was going to be killed and that the rattle was back.Again, it took me awhile to take it back to the shop. Floyd called me and told me that he had it fixed. I went to the shop and Floyd threw the keys at me and told me to go check out the car. NICE! No noise, no rattle. I went back in to settle the bill with Floyd and asked him what was ratting? I was still convinced that it was the tailpipe. He told me, Bill we went back to the dealer and got the OEM part instead of going back to the parts store. Again, the repair was done under warranty - No Charge. WHAT? Are you serious Floyd? He was serious.. NICE!Today I called him again and after about 1 and 1/2 months, it is still quiet.Thank you Floyd and Brad I appreciate your honesty and integrity. I have been going to Floyd for about 18 years. I have multiple vehicles and when I bring my vehicles in to the shop I guarantee you that Floyd does not play around. He tells you what is wrong and how much it will take to fix it. Great repair center! They did an excellent job on my 2008 SS trailblazer. They know every thing about LS Chevy engines. They make great tunes and it runs strong. You cant go wrong with Brad. He is a top technician and great guy. True your ride to some one that cares about both of you.

Took my toyota FJ in to have a sound looked at and diagnosed. As someone who works on car regularly, it was a rare thing for me to trust my vehicle to someone else. Floyd and brad. Best mechanics in Colorado Springs. Very honest. If there is something really wrong with your car he is going to tell you. If there is nothing at all wrong with your car he will not try to cheat you out of your money. I brought my car to him due to a problem with the clutch. The problem was actually due to too many floor mats under the clutch. he moved the floor mats and the clutch started perfectly. He could have really taking me for a ride here but he didn’t.

Brad & Kim are just magnificent when it comes to providing service. They go beyond for their customers not only treating them like customers, but more like treating them like family. I had an f-150 with 200,000 miles on it that I had to drive from the springs to upstate new york, a friend reccomended these guys to look it over and do what ever necessary to get me home and they shot me a good price and got it done very fast and its still running 20,000 miles later, I do highly reccomend first rate auto.

Engine head is destroyed.I took my car here for a head gasket job. It was fixed for 5 years, then had problems. Took it back to them and they could not figure out the problem.It took them a full two weeks and two unnecessary repairs to realize that it was the head gaskets again. After not trusting them because they couldnt figure it out, I took it to a new shop that told me they used a grinder on the engine head.Block is now warped and to fix it we are looking at rebuilding the engine. Dont go to these guys.
