I come here mainly for lap swim and classes. My favorite classes are Y-barre, yoga and Body Pump. Love the instructors and peers.

Great place to work out and spend time with your children to teach them how to swim and to get over fears

Horrible customer service and they only care about the money. When YMCA opened back up after the pandemic, I wasnt ready to go back into an area with that much foot traffic. I made the mistake of trying to email them about cancelling my membership. I was told I had to come in person and give 30 days notice (meaning they would bill me an additional time). I refused and told them they needed to be flexible about their cancellation policy because of Covid. They refused. I called and talked to a fellow by the name of Adrian. He immediately understood and said he would email me a cancellation form and prevent me from getting billed again. I then received an email saying I would still have to come in person. I cussed that person out over email. Shame on them. Customer care doesnt exist. It is ALL about the money...YOUR money. Choose somewhere else.

Class act gym that has everything you need. Small but effective. Been my home gym since 2002!

Always clean, always friendly. Plenty of classes to find your fit and get fit in, most of which are at no additional cost! Its like a home away from home for me.

Don’t come to this location!!!! Join Lifetime Fitness if you need a membership with childcare! I have been a member for over a year now, but due to recent changes will be canceling my membership and joining Lifetime in August! I am very disappointed as I loved the gym until recently. They have started closing the childcare early on a regular basis to “clean up”. I checked with the Cordova location and they clean up without requiring you to come pick your child up early. I have looked on their website and there is nothing about this so I believe this is just laziness on the part of employees and not YMCA policies. I doubt the manager knows they are doing this. If they are going to start closing up early, the times need to be changed on their sign and on their website. Closing early screws up my workouts as I need to get a certain amount of exercise to stay on track. I am always on time to pick my kids up. Now I have to be early so the employees can clean up just to stand around in the rest of the gym that is still open? If childcare is 8 to 1, then it needs to be open 8 to 1. That means don’t chase me down while I am working out still within the time frame when your sign clearly states you offer childcare because you are bored of watching kids! I plan on contacting the manager to see if they can go back to the regular policies of being open at regular time like they are at every other YMCA. If they still plan to close up early, they will be losing my family membership as well as two others families at least- my dad joined with me and my sister had planned to join as well. I regularly refer others as well, which I will now be referring to another gym! YMCA, do better! Stick to the time clearly stated on your sign for childcare or change your sign- otherwise that is false advertising!

Michelle gave great customer service on questions I had about the club.

More equipment than most gyms. Year-round swimming. Take all kinds of classes for free from fully certified trainers. All of this and much more for probably less than you would spend elsewhere. They arent a business. Their vision is entirely community service.

Its exactly what youd expect from a YMCA. Friendly and helpful staff, nice facilities, decent amenities. Nothing over the top. The things that make the Y such a great place are the same things keeping it at four rather than five stars. Its so darn reasonable.

Just bad customer service. Debbie argued with me over the phone about my membership. Great facility, though.

Outdoor pool is very large. Indoor pool is OK but often booked for activities like water aerobics; also has a hot tub. Basketball gym is only one full court and also often booked. The gym is good but not great - less equipment than at Lifetime or ATC. Very friendly staff. Also has racquetball, yoga, and a few other things. Overall a solid gym that is cheaper than Lifetime, and has a pool and basketball court which ATC does not.

I coached soccer for my son at the YMCA in Oakland in 2010. The team split with two ladies not liking me because I asked them to organize bringing snacks to each game. They didnt like my tone. The other parents liked me aok. The next day Brent Clack (YMCA) removed me from coaching, and at the first game (my 4 year old was on my team), had the Oakland Police remove me from the field in front of my entire family. This could have been solved with a ten minute team meeting. But instead the YMCA threw me under the bus so they could keep the ladies from pulling their 3 kids and $225.The churches could better handle soccer as they do at Leahwood Baptist micro-soccer which runs at the same time and Upward Basketball.Update: Brent Clack was fired from the YMCA in 2011. Thank you YMCA.

Everyone not on 1 accord.. You pay for a membership to swim with kids but are told to move several times or to use the outside pool.. I have a baby & I refuse to expose her to that much sun.. All members should respect that people work when they can.. THATS what I pay for..
