I for sure will be recommending to people for there service. They explained an gave me an estimate right away will not right away but they really knew an tell me what was wrong. Im grateful an respect for the work they did on my car.

I was traveling through Des Moines on a trip and the power window on the driver side of my vehicle stopped working. I called another shop and asked if they could get it repaired the next day for me and they said no they were booked out for two weeks but they recommended this Midas. I called Midas and spoke with Nick. He told me they could get it in and gave me an cost estimate on the phone. I dropped off the car the next day and also had an oil change done. The window was repaired and the oil change was done. My air conditioning hadn’t been working and Nick noticed this. He thought that it was due to a clogged cabin filter and clogged Front air vent at the grill of the car. He change the cabin filter and the grill air vent and put in some dye to check for leaks and found none. When I came to pick up the car the air conditioner was working. The only thing I was charged for was the air cabin filter which was minimal. Unfortunately the next day the air conditioner didn’t work but Nick’s extra effort was wonderful customer service. Nick is a really friendly guy and the service he provided with the oil change and the window repair so quickly as I was passing through town was superb! Thank you Nick and your mechanic. I appreciated being able to get my car fixed so quickly so I could continue my trip. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs a car repairs.

After having multiple bad experiences at Firestone I decided to try out Midas and am so glad I did! I took my work vehicle there after it was making a weird noise. The guys at Firestone said that there was nothing they could do and it was “normal wear and tear.” I took it to Midas and they were able to figure out it was a bad alternator within a matter of a couple hours. The guy working the front desk (didn’t catch his name) was also super friendly and helpful. Overall great experience and as a woman it is very refreshing to not feel taken advantage of. I will definitely return with my own personal vehicle!

I took my 2019 Nissan to Midas when I was in a bit of a desperate situation. I had just driven down the street from Jiffy Lube where they informed me that my coolant reservoir tube was severed. My husband needed the car for a trip to Chicago the next day. Nic was the manager on duty and had only one mechanic working that day. He graciously said that he could fit me in if I could be patient with him. They quickly assessed the situation while I sat comfortably in their clean and cool waiting room. He brought the reservoir with tube to the waiting area to show me the damage and let me take a picture of it. I’m guessing a mouse chewed through it while sitting at my parent’s farm. They didn’t have the tube needed on hand but he created a solution from scratch with parts they had laying around to fix it. AND, he only charged me for his time which was less than $30!! I am extremely grateful that there are still people and businesses that truly care about helping people over making a profit. I was in a situation that someone could easily have taken advantage of but instead Nic chose people over profit and because of that, he gained my business for life and I will tell all my friends to go to Midas on 86th St!

We took our son’s car in to Midas as the brakes had been seizing and then they went out completely. Midas told us the master cylinder was bad. We paid $600 to fix the master cylinder. Picked up the car drove it off only to have the brakes still seize up. We took the car back and it took them three additional days for them to tell us that now they thought it was the ABS system and they did not work on ABS systems. We requested that they refund us at least part of the $600 since the car was not fixed. They refused saying we paid for the work that was done. Well the work that was done does us no good since the car is still doing what we brought it in to get fixed for. So we still have a broken car and are out $600. In addition the woman at the front desk was extremely rude when we expressed our frustration over the situation.Midas, I see your canned responses to other unhappy costumers on this platform directing people to a website. Unless you actually intend on making this right please don’t respond to us with it. Enough of our time has been taken dealing with this situation. This is not how a good business responds to costumers.

The midas in Clive, Iowa was hands down the best service I have ever received out of all the midas establishments across the country. I travel for work, from Philadelphia to Salt Lake City. This location stood out. Professionalism, quick work, overall work on vehicle was great(oil change, front axel replacements, wheel bearing replacement.)I recommend this location if you are in the Des Moines Iowa area.

I recently took my vehicle in due to it not completely starting. Turns out my fuel pump was going bad. I was quoted almost $900 for the repair.. For a single mother I was crushed, I was so upset. However what made me most upset was finding out that this shop DOUBLES their prices. After doing my research with multiple licensed mechanics after parts and labor it was really only a $425-450 job... I understand making a profit, but to charge double is just wrong. I feel bad for anyone who takes their vehicle here and is overcharged. Do your research and definitely do not choose Midas.

I commend the service at Midas on NW 86th St in Clive. I called to check on the cost of, and suggestions for four new tires. I was provided professional and accurate information. I was advised of a current sale, purchase of 3 tires, get one free. Perfect timing for me! My appointment was scheduled and I was so pleased with the results! Their deals are real. You dont get misleading information--just great service. I very much recommend that you call Stephen, the shop manager, to discuss your needs or stop in. Im a repeat customer, and they have my trust!

They said they rotated the tires when they didnt, big lie. I know from the tpms system on my car. Not very expensive but I prefer to go to the dealer and do it right the first time.

I needed a caliper on an older Lexus replaced, I called at 3:30, they closed at 5. They got me in that afternoon and had my old Lexus riding smooth as silk by 4:45. Great service!

Went there to use the oil change offer they are running and it cost me $20 more for a regular car. Also by the time I got home I found out that I’m missing one of the wheels covers, called the shop and they said we can’t confirm that you brought the car with 4 wheels covers/ very rude. Can’t say anything else it cost me $60 for that. Not going back anymore.

Great service. People there remember your names and treat you with a lot of respect. Unfortunately my brakes needed repair. The staff carefully identified the problem and went over all options thoroughly. It took a while to get done, but I was satisfied with that because you dont want certain jobs on your car to be completed in 5 minutes. It was done carefully and I love my car again.

I went in to get my AC fixed, when they got done I noticed two lights were on, so I went back and told them why are those lights on, they wouldn’t even take a look at my car after I paid a lot of money to get my AC fixed and they made it seem like it wasn’t their fault for causing those two lights to come on. I went to a second opinion and told them what had happened and he took a look at my car and told me something was DISCONNECTED & LOOSE he fixed the issue right away & those two lights went away I went back & told Midas what the mechanic have told & showed me, and they got embarrassed & apologized & offered me a free oil changed.They weren’t listening to me so I’m never going Midas.

They did a great job replacing my ac compressor, fast quality service, rick is a great mechanic who knows his stuff, also did a free brake inspection. very fair pricing which is also a plus. I will definitely return to have more service work done. thanks guys

The manager Brandon is awesome! I was told by another local establishment that I needed new rear brakes. Brandon inspected them and informed me they were in good condition and had many miles left on them. He even pulled up the carfax on the car (a used car we bought not long ago) which showed they had been changed right before we bought the car. He is a very honest man and didn’t charge me anything. I highly recommend him and wish there were more people like him.

I was able to make an appointment for an oil change online for today and was in and out of there in less than an hour. Brandon and the rest of the staff were very friendly. The prices are very reasonable and they do a quick check of your car for no additional charge. Took my car in for rear brakes. They were grinding so I knew they had to be replaced. I didnt have time to do it myself and it was obviously urgent so I looked for a shop to do it. Tom gave me a very attractive estimate and could take it next-day.When we dropped the car off, another employee - Brandon - called back to tell us that we also needed new tie rod ends, front brakes (which were supposedly nearly worn out), and a front wheel bearing. The total was over $1000. The only work I wasnt comfortable doing myself was the wheel bearing so I let them do that and the rear brakes, knowing I could put the other repairs off until I had time to do them myself.When the time came to do the repairs I decided to do on my own, I discovered that my front brake pads were in fact not even 1/3rd worn, and the front rotors they assured me were worn out were still in excellent shape. I replaced the tie rods because they were cheap and did look a bit worn. All the other parts I returned.Now Im wondering if the wheel bearing was even as bad as they said. They obviously tried to get me to pay for work that I didnt need with my brakes. Were they pumping me for cash elsewhere?

My all time favorite Midas is the one in Ames. Ron if you’re reading this your shop rocks. All four years at Iowa state my loyalty to Midas grew. Until I moved to Des Moines. At both stores I’ve been hassled to be up sold on things I didn’t need, overcharged for things I did need, and discounts they magically “forgot about” every time until I questioned about the price. This most recent visit I went for a break inspection, got a quote and gasped at the price. I then took my car to another shop (non Midas) and it was about $200 less, they took the time to explain to me what everything they were charging me for, why I needed it and laughed at the price Midas was charging for everything. I don’t know if Ron in Ames owns the only honest Midas or if the other two aren’t as honest. One thing I do know is I’ll be staying away from any Des Moines Midas from now on.

Great experience with fixing my heat shield and getting my axel fixed. Service was so great that I had to write a review and I actually never do. Just don’t. Their manager Brandon was great. Going here for future car needs.

But they also took the time to let me know that there may also be a recall on that issue and to follow up with my local dealer. Been using this place for a few months now and I have used several shops around the area and so far I have to give them kudos they have taken care of everything I have asked and are very personable and their communication has been excellent. Prices are reasonable from my experience.

I was out of the shop in about 30-40 minutes.Ill be going here from now on, much better than most of the shops in the area that Ive gone to.

I needed a tire repair on what was a BUSY day for the shop. They got me in and fixed me up fast.

Brandon is an excellent manager and John is our most trusted mechanic. Together, they take care of all our vehicles needs at very reasonable prices and very timely.

My car was extremely load and had been growing loader until one day after work it was unbearable. I called at 5:00 and they said they could look at it the next morning. I arrived at 7:30, at which time the promptly pulled my car in the shop and looked at it. Ten minutes later they brought me back to the garage and explained in detail the issue and various ways it could be fixed. I opted to go with the cheapest and fastest way. They said they could do it right than! Thirty minutes later the car was completely fixed! The staff was very courteous as well!! Highly recommend!

They told me I had to replace both rocker arm brackets when I only needed to replace 1. They wanted to charge $500. At dealership got the 1 replaced for $190.

Today started out super rough. I blew my front tire completely out early this AM and placed a call to midas right away. I spoke to Brandon over the phone and I could tell just by talking to him that I was going to be in great hands once I got there. I was absolutely not disappointed. The customer service I got was phenomenal. They got me in and out and gave me excellent recommendations. I also go to midas for all of my oil changes and they have always done a great job. Great people who do great work!!

Brandon their manager has repeatedly screwed our family over. My mother is fighting cancer in the midst of Chemotherapy and Radiation, and simply took her car in for a diagnosis. They ended up telling her she needed to replace her transmission and that its no longer driveable. The car she she drove to them that was completely driveable. The only vehicle she has to get too treatments. So not only did they cause her to no longer have a method of transportation for cancer treatments, but also screwed her over by only offering $105 for their mistake and a tow. Thats 3 days of rides via Uber for radiation. DO NOT USE THIS MIDAS. THEY WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. Edit: I went through the contact general form that they replied with, and have not received any response. It was a copy and pasted boilerplate response it appears. We are having to go to small claims court to resolve. Make sure to stay clear of these guys.

I needed to get new tires for my vehicle and I had tried three dealerships associated with my car but they were all booked and the one that I normally go to, the man on the other line sounded rude on the phone. Im not criticizing the dealerships being booked, after all its the weekend and thats when most people have time off. Then Midas came up in my search in the Des Moines area and I gave them a call and talked to an individual named Brandon/Brenden (sorry couldnt quite remember the pronunciation). He was very friendly as I told him exactly what I needed and right away I was able to get my car in and get my tires changed. Very professional service from start to finish. I will definitely be going back.

Always take my vehicles here, and my sons and my husband and now my granddaughter. They always manage to fit me in when they can and work with me on times. They provide good honest service!!

After my car being in the shop at meineke for almost 2 weeks I finally got it back and it was worse then it was before. I called Midas on my way home and told them about the issues. They told me to bring it straight in and they would see what they could figure out so I turned around and headed straight to Midas. This was on a Friday around 5 and they closed at 6. After looking it over they told me they couldnt get to it that day to tear it apart but they would have it done for sure by Monday. Brandon the manager handed me keys to the shop car and told me to keep it until they were done. This was much better then my previous shop as they had just left me without a car for 2 weeks. I received a call Monday morning telling me what the other shop had messed up and they told me no matter the job they would be done today. I received a call on Monday evening around 5 to tell me to come in around 6 pm because they were just going to stay and finish it up. Mind you the shop closes at 6 so they just needed me there to pay by 6 so they could get everything else closed up. It ended up taking them until 7 to get done. I couldnt believe they stayed that late just to fix my car. Brandon the manager and John the mechanic were awesome. They got me fixed up and back on the road! I will be back for any job I cant handle on my own. Thank you midas!

Awesome service!! Not only are the people incredibly nice but they are there to help you with your car, not to rip you off! This is the first time I’ve got an oil change where I didn’t get a call saying I had another $500 worth of stuff that needed fixed. I said i didn’t need a tire rotation as I had winter tires on. But they called me after looking it over and said they changed the tires as they were put on wrong, all part of the service so no charge, and suggested I get a new air filter. I said go ahead and when I came in to pick up my car they asked me back into the shop to show me tricks on how to change my tires in the future to avoid putting them on wrong!! And they also showed me my air filter which was black and full of corn! They went out of their way to help me and now I will be taking my husbands car there too. I will only be going here from now on, finally a car service you can trust!

I have been a customer of Midas for a long time. They are the only ones I trust with my vehicles since my college years. They are the best store to bring in your own parts and have them installed. Ive even had Midas locations agree to install Fenders before. I used to live in Des Moines and the Ingersoll Midas was my go to workshop. Since moving to Urbandale, this Clive Midas is my new go to workshop and this was my first visit here. They did an excellent job installing my brakes and pads that I brought in, as expected from any Midas location. Best mechanics in town just like any other Midas. My only negative is the wheel alignment was not as accurate at this location as it has been at other Midas locations. Before I brought it in, the steering was tilted to the left. Paid an extra $90 to get it straightened, but now my steering is tilted to the right and the car no longer drives straight, it drifts to the right which is a little annoying. It was better off before I brought it in. I will be visiting my old Ingersoll Midas buddies in the morning to get it adjusted. Other than that, they did a good job on the brakes. Alignment, not so much.

I always try to find a Midas when in need of repairs/oil changes no matter what town Im in. This became my Midas of choice when we lived in West Des Moines. We now live in Des Moines, about 20 minutes from this location, but I will always take the extra time to drive here to get my car done. They remember me every time I come in. They are always friendly, fast and knowledgeable and they do not talk down to me - they talk with me to ensure I understand whats going on with my car and are always certain to answer any questions I may have. Cant recommend this Midas location enough, let alone the Midas brand in general.

I went there to change my oil and they handed me this list of things that need to be done according to them. The total cost to fix wouldve been >$1650. My vehicle isnt even worth $1600. Come to find out everyone that were waiting there had a similar experience. They all came for an oil change and were handed a $1550 or above worth of repair list. The receptionist was a cool guy but come on. What a racket!...

As I pulled up I saw the service clerk shake his head like he didnt want anyone else in. I needed a terrible sound from the wheels inspected. He said it would take about 45 minutes to inspect and that he couldnt do it. It was 5:15. Bays were open. There was no reason he couldnt have checked it out. Seriously needed it at least looked at. I drove all the way across town because I get my oil changed here and they are reliable. Not sure whats going on in the service department.
