Great gym experience employees are very helpful when it comes to explaining how the equipment works.... I highly recommend this location its definitely a Judgement Free Zone

This was my first time at the Clifton location. I loved how it is arranged with different rooms dedicated to different types of exercise. There was plenty of space. It seems this location is newer or has recently been upgraded. Great experience.

The showers are disgusting. they never clean them they are full of bacteria viruses. someone must be something. !!you are paying to use the establishment. it is not free to find such a disgusting place .. if someone is infected with any disease they have to sue the establishment!!!

Great location! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Machines are upgraded a bit which is great ! Only thing is the machines close together, feels a bit cluttered. (especially yellow workout machine room)

Nice size, probably a 4 or 5 stars for many. Im not a big juicehead but considering all the space they have.....even a little bit more free weights(that area gets packed), maybe a bench press, a couple heavybags...would be better use of all the space then the same machines a few times. Idk if the franchise maybe doesnt allow the things i am saying. Seems clean, open later than most which os cool. 3 maybe isnt fair.

Equipment looks cute and all, but 3 Smith machines/bench presses in the whole building is trash. Belleville at its worst always had at 4-5 operational. First and last time here.

I have been coming to the Planet Fitness in Clifton while the Belleville location is being renovated. Wow! The Clifton staff is much friendlier, the facility is clean and rarely out of paper towels. They put Belleville to shame. I’m really hoping that Belleville steps up after the renovation or I may have to consider making the longer drive to Clifton!

The staff is obnoxious with the bell. N empty containers of paper towels. Dont you dare forget your headphones around 3pm unless you like working out to sexy salsa music. Nice space though.

I’ve visited about half a dozen different PF locations in the past two months while traveling for work. This is by far the worst one I’ve been to. Most of the dispensers didn’t have paper towels. The majority of staff and visitors aren’t wearing face coverings / only have their chin covered. There is no social distancing whatsoever and clientele is extremely rude. And unlike at other locations, this one didn’t have anyone walking around and sanitizing equipment (which is highly needed here since none of the guests seem to be cleaning after they use a machine). This location is a mess on so many levels and has lost my future patronage. Would highly advise a change in management asap.

Clean, not crowded. Hydro massage and tanning is a nice touch. But since I was a guest I was not allowed to use these extras. Now it seems like bad business to deny a first time guest use of the facilities. I am definitely considering joining but not sure yet.

Planet fitness in it’s entirety are all thieves .. if the class action suit happens I’m all in. My contract expired and the robot they have as receptionist is telling me we have contracts to make sure we keep people and once the contract is over you HAVE TO REQUEST TO CANCEL. Like it’s not my choice. If I don’t receive my refund and my contract expiration is not honored, I’ll be seeking my own attorney.

If I could give less, I would. Was told locker room is fully open with the exception of showers. Come to find out lockers are also unavailable to the public so the only thing available are the toilets. Cant change into workout clothes and workout if I have to carry my bag everywhere I go!

With this covid going on i feel the gym had to many people inside. They have every other machine but still its the amount of people inside at 2 time. Do i canceled my membership. Those machines not being cleaned after every use either.

Worst communication I’ve encountered, the manager is unprofessional and could not comprehend my concern then he directed me to corporate. Then corporate had me on hold for 1hr and 3min only to tell me I have to call Clifton for a refund and that they have no idea why the manager told me to call them. Run around

This gym is TERRIBLE! They, robbed me $500 out of my bag.. I spoke to the people there and called the police but they said they could not do anything because they do not have cameras.

Everytime i decide to go to the gym i always come here. They have many machines and the customer service is always nice. Its a pretty good place to work out even for the price.

I go to 24hr fitness and I thought that was a bad gym to go to, until I went to planet fitness in Clifton. I believe is the worse gym around. I don’t know where to start. The gym looks like a giant hallway and dated. The back room of the gym is so hot and no ventilation. Not much of a equipment selection.Only positive thing I noticed is that most of the people there clean after them selfs.

Lots of equipment in this medium-large gym. Friendly staff and nice wide treadmills. Somehow theyre always playing the same Nick Cage movie, but Im not complaining. Treadmill belts could be replaced every once in a while, as they get a bit slippery with use.

Literally the worst gym on the planet, absolutely do not go here! The staff is unprofessional the gym equipment is never maintained, the machines are all missing pins for the weights. The gym is constantly over crowded to the point of not being able to use anything other than the treadmills. And they WILL charge you with fees even after you cancel, I had to learn that the hard way. Spend the extra money on a better gym it’s more than worth it to save yourself the hassle of dealing with this awful place.

It’s an okay gym. Staff is polite. In 2020 there is brand new equipment so that helps. Limited exercise equipment and weights so you need to be lucky to get a chance on bench press, dumbbells and cycles.Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals. So if your target is cardio only, this is the place to be.Men’s bathroom stays relatively clean.Enough parking available in the plaza.

For $10 a month its a great deal. Everything there is clean and well ventilated. They have lockers available, just bring your lock. Theres also showers available and a scale to see your progress as time goes by. I have 0 issues with this gym and I would recommend it to anyone.

On Monday 8/5 @ approximately 1:35pm, I cancelled my three year membership to planet fitness. I was fresh off vacation, had my workout, and all I wanted to do was change my account on file (just was charged my annual fee btw which was fine). The two gentlemen were unable to help me with my request because I didnt have a blank check or slip of paper with a routing and acct # on it. This is a primitive problem to have in an electronic world. I had all my bank and credit cards on me and I have my banking routing and acct numbers memorized (which I told both gentlemen). I know how it is when you cant help a customer because of rules so though I was frustrated I was not angry or rude to the fellows and neither were they to me. My problem was the absence of empathy or a simple apology for not being able to help me. I was so disappointed that I cancelled my acct on spot and they did not hesitate to do it. As they were processing my cancellation I said the following, At no point did either of you say anything to me to try to retain my business. The reply I received from was we cant force you to keep an acct with us. Someone on your payroll let 3 years of consistent payments walk out your door and that is just super irresponsible to your employers customer. As a person whos career is customer service mgmt, this was unacceptable. Your employees should care at least little bit and I suggest some training.Respectfully,Taylor

I love the layout of the gym. The cardio machines (treadmill, stair master, etc) were located in the front while the weights were located in the back giving you a sense of privacy and definitely a judgement free zone.

Gym is great for those people who like to brag they have a gym membership, even tho they go once a month. They told me in a nice way I have to b fat to join, in other words they told me I could not join

Its helping me lose weight, really good all around. My only complaint is the lack of rowing machines and the staff really doesnt stay on top of the paper towel situation and even restocking bathroom of tissue paper. Ive had to inform them 3 times in my stay here and Im a new member only been 3 weeks... Please stay on top of your gyms maintenance, whoevers job that is. It sets a really bad reputation for an overall nice gym atmosphere.

Dropped my phone yesterday went back less than 3 minutes it’s gone, the kid who works there says consider its gone , I know it’s my fault but consider this place a ghetto zone work out drop off your gf here consider it gone 😂.

Came to this gym because I am a black Card member and it’s close to my job. I have to say I prefer my home gym. The staff was not at all welcoming. They scanned my card said “sign this” and that was it. The person that checked me in was taking to someone else and I of course had to wait to ask where the locker rooms were. I had no idea where anything was and no one even bothered to inform me. Then I started jump roping without knowing it’s NOT ALLOWED. Never heard of that. My home gym and other gyms I’ve visited have let me jump rope. Very disappointing. Thinking of joining another gym close to my job after this visit.

Its okay as a basic gym. As a convenient location. But for the price you really cant complain. Certain times of day it is very crowded because its right near college.

Just joined for 2018. Place is conviently located was the main reason. Equipment seems to be in good repair. Biggest disappointment here are the bathrooms and this was based on our visits to both Mens and Womens room. With some cleanliness issues, and locker repairs made, the score could be greatly improved.

It is a cool place to workout, I go 6 days a week and I find it very chilled. The place is maintained cleaned throughout the day. Though some weight machine need to be checked and fixed ASAP.

This gym is a great place to workout, never crowded (well, rarely) and is clean. I did get great use out of the training that was provided and by the classes of no more than 5 that were available weekdays. I did learn a great deal from the instructor/trainer and was pushed to my limits but needed that push to get me to where I was hoping to be. Now, however, the classes have changed and from what I understand there are no more formal classes. Just a guide through the machines and the trainer is available to answer any questions. WHY WAS A PERFECTLY GREAT WAY OF TEACHING CHANGED INTO A RATHER TWILIGHT ZONE OF NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO. IT SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF MEMBERS HAVE DROPPED OUT BECAUSE THE CAMARADERIE IS NO LONGER THERE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let Jeff do his job (which he does very well, thank you!) and let us members reap the benefits of Jeffs knowledge. Please. Generally clean, generally friendly staff, painless sign-up process (signed up with one of the women that works midday Saturday, so youre mileage may vary), and all the machines that I needed were available (though there is one machine that has been out of service for the entire two weeks Ive been a member). The prices are also, per Planet Fitness design, very reasonable.

This gym is horrible and not for the reason you may think. Since the price is so cheap there are a large amount of people in there that otherwise would not go to the gym. I walked in asked a few questions of the nice staff and realized that you get what you pay for. The equipment is clean and so are the facilities but it is the most crowded gym i have ever been to. There are lines to use the strength equipment and people sitting down around the customer desk waiting to utilize the treadmills.

First, I was never informed that by joining this location I would be restricted to only the Clifton and woodland park locations for unlimited access. Any other location youre only allowed free 10 visits follow by a $5 charge after every visit. Because they arent the same franchise. Then Im informed Im not allowed to change franchises until I reach a 90 day period. So I reach my 10 free visits at the Fairfield location and decide let me try the Clifton one (only other time Ive visited this location was when I signed up) I walk in, its super humid & and a little smelly, fine I got past that based on the fact that theres a lot of people working out here. I lock my things in the locker, go onto cardio and then to weights. Im doing lateral pull downs on the machine closest to the back wall & the seat drops from under me, TWO TIMES, I switch machines and finish the set. Then I go onto the assisted pull up machine, this machine was so wobbly that I felt it was going to tip over. I got off the machine. Half the machines are abused and run down. I go into the locker room to get my stuff and leave. BOOM someone broke my lock and robbed me for the money in my wallet. This was at about 11pm last night. No manager there. No big deal, I was told hes in 9am-5pm.. I come in, I would say about 11:50am & no manager again. A young girl said she was the assisting manager. She wasnt any help. I dont recommend coming here or joining this gym or franchise at all.

I have no idea what the reviewer before me is complaining about. Ive been a member at this Planet Fitness location for nearly two months, and it has never been as dramatically crowded as Germaine says it is. Ive gone at every time of the day: 5AM, 12PM, 4PM, etc.There is a good amount of people during those times, but NEVER over-crowded to the point where there are lines or people sitting at tables waiting to use equipment. There are ALWAYS plenty of treadmills, bikes, strength machines, etc.As for Germaines claim that there are a large amount of people in there that otherwise would not go to the gym DUH, its a gym! Last time I checked peoplego to gyms to get into shape!This Planet Fitness location is very clean, equipment is in excellent condition, and is more aesthetically pleasing than the other Planet Fitness location I have been to.

This location have many staff at the same time but yet a lot of sections are missing paper towels for more then half hour and they cant change them? Another thing they have a (bench press) machine thats been out of service for almost two weeks now????? God forbid we missed a payment or cant pay we are automatically banned from entering correct?? Come on people do your job and have those machines fully functional at all times .... whats the yearly maintance fee and the auto payment from credit cards for ......nothing ???

I went to sign up for the 2 black memberships.Upon entering, I was greeted by a sour faced front desk person as if she was annoyed by my existence or that she had to work in general. I still smiled and was pleasant as I thought that anyone can have a bad day. I asked what was needed to sign up. I was told that I should get a “Direct Deposit form from my bank”. I asked if they meant “Direct Debit” as I will be paying to them and not the other way around. Her response was “No, deposit!” and then she went on to incorrectly explaining what is a direct Deposit. Then she had an additional employee try to tell me the same thing.Arrogant, Untrained, and Uneducated.Red Flag!I decided not to sign up at that location as they are not trustworthy.I cannot trust these people with my financial information. If they do not understand the basic terminology, and they are too arrogant to listen to the customer. The arrogance of the employees leads me to believe they are not properly trained and there is a lack of leadership.I do not want people like that dealing with my financial information. If ID theft is not happening, it is just a stone’s throw away.I decided to go to another planet fitness in East Orange. At least they were trained and courteous.

Overcrowded, me Amy wife went to sign up and stood in line for like 30 minutes, the employees behind the counter had other things on their minds other than signing us up, it was more like a dating meet scene. Just totally unprofessional, never again

I love this gym! Staff is okay could smile more though, but the machines are great and the prices are great. Lasted 7 months with my membership unfortunately because the gym just gets too crowded for me especially with old perverted men and so thats why I cancelled my membership.

My fav. Clean well laid out gym with accommodating staff and a great mix of friendly peeps. Black, white, hispanic and Arabic/ Turkish and everybodys cool and helpful to others regardless of level. The locker room looks like a really nice hotel. Clean as a whistle. The water jet massage table is the boss. $10 basic membership. Bring guest for free. Cant beat it. Did I say clean

Pros:- there is ALWAYS cardio equipment available.- it’s a relatively large building and the layout is decent.- they have a ton of different machines.- cheap membership.- people of all shapes and sizes work out here so there’s not an atmosphere of pressure. you just do whatever you want.cons:- staff is kind of unhelpful. the first time I went I had to ask the guy where the locker rooms were. they employ kids (nothing wrong with that, just seems like they don’t care that much LOL). girl with the blue hair is nice though.- there is NOT enough space in the back room for floor exercises/free weights. you can’t move around at all. MAYBE 3 people can fit mats at once, otherwise it’s uncomfortable. if they knocked down the walls separating the 2 weight areas they would have way more space for this. in my opinion, this is the worst part because you have no other area and everyone doing machines is directly behind you... sometimes awkward.- it’s crowded. i’m sure it’s worse during peak hours but i’m not going to the gym at 4:30 am. crowds aren’t surprising given the cheap membership which brings me to my next point:- VERY young adults go here with their friends. probably high schoolers. they crowd around one machine for a while so you can’t use it until they all walk away. not a big deal, just slightly annoying.all in all it’s not bad. it’s not great but it’s not horrible either. it’s sufficient if you want to get in shape without paying a ridiculous monthly fee.

On the plus side there is a ton of cardio equipment in here and the guy at the front desk was friendly. Congratulations to Augusta, ME.... You are now the 2nd most disgusting Planet Fitness Ive ever seen . (I travel for work and have probably visited 150 gyms) The locker room absolutely reeked of urine and there is a woman exercising 6 bikes away from me making a phone call so loud that even though she is about 15 feet away she is the only thing I can hear. She is yelling and no one (staff included) seems to think this is even worth a look. The equipment is old and very spread out. Finally, I tried 6 machines and had to accept the fact that I wasnt going to be able to listen to the TVs because the sound was static and impossible to hear.

Went with a friend qnd I guess it was ok but nothing like Golds gym that Im a member of. Wish theyd let you bring a friend for free at Golds then all these other gyms would only be better because of price not quality and equipment.

Really don’t like the fact you can only tan every exact 24 hours. It limits a person on the time they can come to the gym weekdays I’m usually there around 4-4:30 pm but weekends I’m off so I like to go earlier let’s say around 10am, well long story short I have to wait 24 hours from the exact time I went tanning the day before which is ridiculous. Not everyone goes to the gym at the same time daily you’re basically restricting someone to come at the same time. Tanning salons don’t have this issue, I can go to beach bum tanning today for example at 1 pm and go again the next day at 9 am and they won’t tell me you have to wait 24 hours.
