We first met Howard and Janette in 2011 and they tirelessly showed us around many, so many properties and although we didn’t buy one, they welcomed us like family members when we returned in 2015 determined to find a home. We have been extremely impressed with the Homes of America ‘family’ team. We first met them at the NEC in Birmingham at one of the ‘Place in the Sun Live’ events in 2019 and we then managed to get over to Florida in February of 2020 for a weeks worth of valuable fact finding.Zoe and Howard gave us a great welcome and took time to take us around several of the communities in which they have properties in order to give us a feel for different styles of home and location. This was time really well spent as we found a community that we really liked, and we were able to identify homes that had great views from south facing pool decks.They spent time talking us through the process for buying along with the costs associated with both the purchase and the ongoing running expenses of a Florida home. We also met with Ben who clearly explained the different options for funding a purchase.We returned to the UK just before the COVID lockdown and we didn’t think that much would happen during this period, however one of the homes that we had seen from the outside reduced in price and we decided to buy. We were daunted by not being able to see inside the property but Howard was able to get inside and take some photos for us, casting his expert eye over the place to give us peace of mind and Zoe and Ben stayed in close contact with us throughout the process, guiding us step by step and at all times being very responsive to our many questions.We ‘completed/closed’ on our home at the end of September and the great service has continued this time through Susan and Jenny helping us get ready for rentals and with Kylie who runs the Property Management side of things. Due to continued lockdown restrictions, we are unable to visit our new home, but Kylie is working her magic in helping us remotely decorate and update furnishings. She has a great eye for design and has been helping us with colour schemes and sending us photo updates showing us the great progress she is making.

Bought our home through Homes of America 5 years ago and have never looked back. The initial service we experienced, right from the very first tentative enquiry emails, all the way through to having had our home for 5 years has been excellent. Every question (and there have been LOTS of them over the years!) has been dealt with efficiently and effectively. The home-buying process itself was so smooth and fast, especially given our only previous experience of buying property was in the UK where it is often a painful and lengthy procedure! The team at Homes of America looked after me extremely well when I flew out alone to check out properties and, in a few short days of concentrated searching, found us the perfect place. We havent regretted our purchase or had cause to question the salient advice we were given at the time about the communities and their rental capacities. This company is really the worse company i have ever come across. No customer service at all, they have no idea what their villas have and dont have, they try and rip you off also. Beware when booking a villa with them, personally i would look elsewhere in which i have now done!**Company now asking me to remove the review. When we were looking to buy a villa, Howard helped us to identify the perfect property, and then the company helped us buy this villa. The Property management at the property is far better than the service I have heard of about other companies, so would have no hesitation in using them, and recommending to others.

I had a terrible time attempting to buy a house with Homes of America. Poor communication. I found another realtor who really understand what I was looking for and bought a home.

We met up with the Homes of America family in 2013After discussing our wish list with Howard and Janette,they sourced suitable properties for us,we were very conscious of time as we were due to fly home,so Janette organised a list,Howard took our whole family (6)of us,out over 2 days,and never lost patience with us(or the children!)We were undecided,but with the guidance and information given,we left Orlando,and the property search in the Thorne’s very capable hands.We didn’t give up on our Florida dream,as Janette would send us through properties that she knew we would consider suitable.We would send them homes that we had found online,and they would always use their expertise to tell us if it was zoned for rental/a desirable area/south facing pool/good HOA rates.(and any other pearls of wisdom they could pass on).We finally decided on our floor plan,Their expertise was invaluable,and instrumental in our eventual purchase.Howard and Janette sent us 2 properties on the same development,and we were undecided on which one to pick,they viewed both homes,and Janette decided for us!.The final choice had come down to the proximity to the street,something we googled for ourselves,and it didn’t seem a problem,but they really were our eyes and ears on the ground,they knew how much we valued our seclusion,and were certain we would prefer it.People can’t believe we bought a home,on somebody else’s selection,without seeing it for ourselves,but that’s where the family business comes into play,we trusted them and respected their opinion,and it goes both ways.The first time we saw our new home was 6 weeks later after the Thornes had found/viewed/reported back/negotiated/and closed on our property.When we turned the key,we knew we,with their guidance,had made the right choice.Zoe helps us to place bookings,and Kylie keeps it looking lovely,and our reviews from our guests keep everyone happy.The whole teams attention to detail is amazing,and the reason why we are looking to do the whole process again in the future.Tony and Claudia
