Chad seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I took my 2004 Mini Cooper S,that I had just inherited from my late father, in for an oil change. Even though they were extremely busy he was able to fit me in that Friday. He performed the oil change himself and looked over the car and gave me a full list of everything that was wrong with it. Fantastic customer service, I have a follow up appointment scheduled soon and will be having all of my work done there.

I called and spoke with Chad about getting a quote to replace a transmission selector switch on my F60, Chad advised me that this was more than likely able to be covered under warranty even though the dealership was giving me the run around. When everything was said and done I got the dealer to cover this $2000 repair under warranty. I appreciate Chad’s honesty and his willingness to give me guidance. I don’t need any work done at the moment but as soon as I need something done that isn’t under warranty I am giving him my business. Integrity and customer service counts.

Well, this was my second encounter with Detroit Tuned. My first was in 2019 when I happened to be going to Michigan on a quick trip. I attended their shop and had a great experience with the staff, they were helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with . I recently purchased some engine parts on line and they initially quoted me a certain shipping cost but I received a nice refund of half the shipping. Chad, Mike and the team got my R56 in for the timing chain right before Christmas. Naturally, I was worried I wouldnt have a car to get back home to see my family for the holidays. I got my car back after only 2 days. Mike called me and updated me every step of the way. I expected to pay an arm and a leg for a timing chain, but the price was extremely fair. Overall I will never go to another shop as long as I own a Mini.

I wont be going back. I had Detroit Tuned install a Stage 2 Power Upgrade along with a Turbo Oil Line Superkit on my Mini Cooper. Chad made me feel like he was doing me a favor by allowing them to work on my car. My car is in great shape and I paid full for the work. When I questioned the quality of a part they used, Chad commented that it should be no problem because, of course, I would bring my car to them for any future work required. I had to twist his arm to make it right. I will pay a premium for great service. This is a hobby for me, not a necessity. I guess Ill drive to Motorwerks on the other side of town in the future. Theyve done great work for me in the past and always treated me well.

Once again Detroit Tuned delivers. I had my tires balanced at Bell tire and there were some vibrations turns out I had two slightly bent rims and Bell tire missed that. Detroit tuned got my wheels balanced the right way and now it’s smooth sailing!!!

They were able to fix my Wifes Mini that another shop said would need a completely new engine! They explained everything they did and why. They also carefully explained the after care. How often to check the oil, check the lug nuts after 100 miles and make sure they are still tight, things like that. I am very happy and my wife is ecstatic!! She loves her Mini!!

I had placed a fairly large order with Detroit tuned. Part of that order was an exhaust, when I received the order the midsection and resonator was damaged. Less than a week I had a replacement on the way. Also made the order over the phone and they really helped me set up exactly what I was looking for.

I HAD MY MINI COOPPER SERVICED THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN JUST THAT ONE TIME BUT HAD TO TAKE IT BACK SEVERAL TIMES MORE BECAUSE CHAD AND HIS INEXPERIENCED CREW DID NOT FIX MY CAR RIGHT. GASKETS LEAKING WHEN I SPECIFICALLY EXPLAINED TO THEM THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR . THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND DIDNT PERFORM THE SERVICES THAT I ASKED FOR FOR THEM TO FIX BE VERY CAREFUL CUSTOMES. THERE MONEY HUNGRY BUT WILL NOT FIX YOUR CAR RIGHT. I ADVISE YOU TAKE YOUR MINI COOPER SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR SERVICE... IM ON THE THOUGHT OF GETTING MY ATTORNEYS FOR VERY POOR SERVICE...

Great shop. When I was rebuilding my Mini I asked Chad about a lot of details that I was unsure on. He gave honest advice and steered me away from things that might be a detriment to the car. The staff are awesome, and overall its a great shop!

THE place for Mini Cooper work, questions, etc. I drove from Lansing to buy a used set of wheels and tires for my R53, and was absolutely floored by the workspace at DT. Chad is a super cool dude with an amazing business. Give him your money, and youll have an excellent experience.

When I started having issues with my Mini, I heard Detroit Tuned is the place to take it, they have quite the reputation for knowing the ins and outs of Mini Coopers, but, just because this is a specialty shop, does not make it special. In fact, they are unfortunately just like 95% of other automotive repair shops in the instance that they don’t care about you as a customer, but more so your money. I had my entire timing system repaired/replaced here, I spent close to $1000 when it was all said and done. This job was done on 9/11/19, and on 9/27/19 the car began running rough on my way to work, which led to it barely running and pouring out smoke from the exhaust under acceleration.I called Detroit Tuned that day to see if the tech had seen anything that may cause these issues, the receptionist Andrea insisted on me getting the engine light read, despite the barely running condition. I was told the tech John would call me back that day, I never heard back. I called again today, 10/15, and asked for Chad to see again if someone could make even a suggestion, but once again I was ignored and no phone call back.I most likely won’t be owning any more Mini Coopers in the future but if I do, I will not be taking them here. I understand nothing is free, but I would have expected a little more customer service, especially after spending nearly $1000 with this shop.

The Detroit tuned team are experts in their field. I recommend anyone with mini needs to see them first even if it’s just for a diagnostic or a simple tune up. I’ve done business with the team online as well as over the phone before I decided to make the 3 hour drive to have some work done to my car and it was money well spent. When I had the work done, they pulled me off to the side and also brought other problems my car needed to my attention. They have not done me wrong, nor scolded me for my negligence, only bringing the problem to my attention asking if they can fix it. Such kind hearted people that I wish other shops aspire to be every day. If you’re weary on making the drive or anything else, just give them a call they’d be more than happy to answer any of your needs. I recommend them to anyone

Just wanted to share a great experience I had at Detroit Tuned. I booked my 2003 Cooper S in to have a full inspection and a 15% pulley reduction done. The inspection was extremely thorough and uncovered a host of issues not found during my Pre purchase inspection done at a regular mechanic shop elsewhere (unfortunately for me!!) Chad brought me back to the workshop and showed me the issues on the car. We then discussed a game plan for repair and at no time did i feel pressured like some of my previous repair experiences. During the course of the repair a few other minor issues were uncovered which we discussed an i had repaired on the spot. This was very helpful as I drove three hours to their business and would not have wanted to re-schedule. upon completion the cost was exactly what they had quoted and the car drove great all the way home. Oh and the increased performance is amazing. We are a two mini family and going forward theyll only go to Detroit Tuned for future mechanical work Thanks again Chad and staff.

Super friendly and awesome. Im fixing a couple of issues and doing some preventative maintenance on a mini. I had a question concerning timing chains, and they called me and spoke to me for 20 minutes or so.Update 10-07-19:I had an issue with my mini after it was shipped. It was throwing a relatively obscure obd P152A code. After calling Detroit Tuned they returned my call almost immediately and worked through the issues that may have arisen. I also called several dealers ive dealt with and recieved no response. The engine had been flooded during transit after a number of start stops that never got to temp. D.T. said they occasionally see this with older minis moved in their shop, but not really the newer ones similar to mine, and advised getting it up temp.The codes cleared after 40 miles of highway driving.If you need parts, have questions, or experiencing issues I highly advise D.T. Theyve been far better at solving issues than any of the Mini dealer service departments that Ive worked with. They sell parts that are better than OEM.If they had shops in the Bay Area area Id consider D.T. as my first choice. Even though they dont I still consider them as my first.

Had some work done by Chad yesterday. It is so pleasantly different, as an auto garage customer, to be consulted and informed at the beginning, end, and during a procedure. Afterward, on the way home (rush hour), I had some concerns that may or may not still need to be addressed. So, I called from 696 and Orchard Lake. Chad was not only willing to stay and wait for me for come back if I wanted, he called and lm a while later asking if things were okay.

Im not originally from Michigan, so the only place I knew to take my MINI was the dealer..A friend told me about Detroit Tuned and Ive taken my MINI there ever since. A few months ago I took my MINI in for a wheel bearing and after diagnosing the problem, Nick came back with a few other things that needed replacing. No other place I have been to has done that.Chad and Nick know what they are talking about when it comes to these cars.Not only are they knowledgable about MINIs but they are always honest about what is going on with your MINI.They also have the best customer service!

Detroit tuned, great service and extremely experienced in MINIs. I bought a Detroit Tuned supercharger bypass valve from them a few months ago for my R53. Highly skilled shop would recommend them to anyone who owns a Mini Copper

They fixed one problem and created another in the engine, and when i go back the guy doesnt even know what was wrong with it and guesses basically based on info I suggest , AND i get charged for bring it back to check problem created by them , what a waste of time and over $800. Dont play with people cars if dont know what your doing

I think its crazy this place has 5 stars. I took my mini there for a cranking noise I could feel in my tire and one of the yonger guys who didnt introduce himself to me and i still do not know his name, took my keys drove my car up and down the parking lot came back in and basically told me my car was totaled. In his exact words from being in my car for less than 2 minutes was I can tell you right now its the trans. And I have a 2005 and the trans in those years and lower are known for being bad anyway and I wad freaking out with 2 jobs I wont have a way there and back. After I made them look at it anyway they found out my tire was basically falling off and thats what the noise was not my trans and not 2 weeks before they redid my breaks and tires. For the extra money and great customer service ill drive the 45 minutes to motor city mini. I do not trust this company with my car.
