Quick walk-in smog service with no appt. needed. Staff was friendly & customer service oriented. The smog check service was thorough and educational. I was treated with respect, which made me feel like a valued customer and not just a $ sign.

I got my car smog here. They did a great job with my car and I didnt pass the first time but second time I did.

I experienced the level of customer service that is unheard of in this day and age.The mechanics are honest, and awesome.I originally came in for a smog check, but thanks to the company that did my oil change, the sensors cad been cleared out, this led to the discovery that one of my catalytic converters wasnt functioning properly.I had to have an expensive repair done, I called around for quotes, and theyre quote was only a third of what I was quoted elsewhere.The work was done quickly, and effectively. The staff treats you like family, and the hospitality is welcome but unexpected.I would sincerely recommend this shop for any and all work that they perform, I only wish they did oil changes.

Waste of my time. They said they could smog a 1996 golf, it passed emissions and had no check engine lights, but when they couldnt find the evaporative canister they decided they cant smog this car. I tried to ask if I found it for them would they pass it. Before I could even finish my sentence the guy cut me off to say no. What is my car possessed or something? Did it tell you dark secrets and you cant handle it being on your property any longer? They didnt make me pay so I didnt argue. Anyways, I went home and began dismantling the area where the internet said the canister is. And wouldnt you know, it was there! Who would have thought that a car with no check engine light for its evap system would have a perfectly intact and functioning evap system? I called back and they again refused to smog it simply saying we cant smog your car. What a waste of my time. Be sure you know what youre doing if you come here or you might end up with half a day+ in the trash from running in circles for no reason. Wasting my finite time in this existance is not good business practice.

This place is perfect! Super friendly family run business. Everyone here is awesome and most importantly they fixed my car and got my AC running again! I highly recommend going here if your having issues with your car. 5 star!!!

Ive always thought this particular station gave good service but now its outstanding. They have set it up so you can just pull your car in when its time, give you a bottle of water (I was ready to pay for it, but its part of their five star service) and spoken to with respect and friendliness. Honestly, this is just a smog check but it was more like a welcome to a fancy hotel. Definitely get your car smogged here. It certainly made my day that much nicer.

Great guys to deal with! They told me I needed a new muffler on my 1990 Mazda and suggested a place where I got a great price and it was done in half an hour. I came back to Earth Station so they could finish the smog test.

They are so nice here and it is so easy and the price is reasonable. They meet you when you drive in the driveway and they tell you which stall to go in and you sit in the car and they do the smog check. Its that simple.

Not even sure what to say, tech showed up late for work, made an elderly woman wait way beyond her appointment to serve all the other customers first and then fails the vehicle for a smog inspection because he didnt like the look of some wires. Never, ever again. Do Not Recomend.

I have been taking my cars to the Earth Station, Citrus Heights since about 1998.What I like about them is that they have always been honest and charged me a low price compared to other advertised smog offers.After reading a couple of bad reviews, I was surprised because this was not the service I have come to know all these years and I worried that their service or personnel had changed.I decided to trust the history I had with them and took my car in for my smog test. I was tentative.Right off the bat, I explained that my car was idling badly and might not pass. The service intake person, Dude explained that if I didnt have an engine light on, the car should pass, which gave me a sense of relief.After my car was in the bay, Dude explained that their equipment could not pick up power to my computer to register the smog readings and they would need to troubleshoot the reason why. If the problem was easily detectable, it would run $45.00, but it the problem took a couple of hours to find, it could run as much as $180. I wondered out loud whether I should take my car to a dealer and he told me that while I could, then he pointed out what I already knew, the dealers shop rate is much higher. He said he would like a chance to try to find it...but he didnt pressure me to stay.I told him I would wait. He then warned me that the mechanic, Don would troubleshoot my car as soon as he could, but that they had a high volume of cars waiting for smog tests.Although it did take awhile, it was obvious Don was working as fast as he could to get the cars done...I sat and watched him literally run back and forth driving cars into the bay, testing them, then run to get the next car until all of the smog cars were done. At one point Dude told me that because I was patient he would discount my troubleshooting fee if it took longer to find.Luckily, Don found the problem sooner than later and he physically showed me how a previous mechanic hadnt completely connected all the connections on my computer back up.As I checked out at the register, I felt relived and happy...I left with valuable free information about possible causes for other car issues I am having, a fair price for services and a confidence that these guys didnt try to take advantage of me like other shops have.I told Dude about the bad reviews and how they almost kept me from coming in. He told me he responded to those reviews personally and told them to contact him so that he could work to make them happy customers, but they never contacted him.All I can say is, at the end of the day, I saw the staff at my Earth Station in Citrus Heights consistently deliver above average customer service to many customers as I waited for my car... and when my car comes up for a smog test again I will take it to them again.~SN

Website and window says they open at 8AM. They apparently do not- several people arrived before or at 8AM 8/6. Between then and 9:10AM a few gave up and left, including me. One poor guy was stuck with them as he had had them start some repairs on his vehicle, then was told theyd be closed for next several days due to the Sonoma races- to do some things and bring it back to them after that. This was after the time they were supposedly going to be back from the races, so no idea what their excuse was for no one being there and there was no note on windows that any of us could see. The guy at the shop we have used for 15 years left, so I was looking for a new place. This was not the cheapest, or closest for me, but a neighbor said he had used them for about 4 years and they were ok he thought. Who knows? Maybe their work is...if they ever get there to do it. I was looking for a trustworthy place to settle in with again, but I guess this is not it as this is not a favorable impression. Does not seem like a place that cares about its customers or its reputation. From what the other person who had been there before said, it is not a one person operation, either, so no idea why there was NO one there nor any note on the window.

Recommend this place over many that Ive been they are extremely professional and Ive been there for years. When its available they do a lot of work for cars of any make or model but I would ask for an appointment.

Awesome family owned business! Came in to get my car smogged after being turned down by 2 others down the street (due to being closed before their closing time). Mike was busy doing some work on a customer vehicle while I talk to his wife about trying to get my car smogged. Mike went above and beyond getting my car in right then and there. In and out in about 10-15 minutes. Awesome customer service and great people to deal with!

Not a bad place to smog your car or truck, but their smog station is constantly down and not working. Spent 5 days trying to get my wifes car smogged only to have their station closed every time I show up. Even called ahead and was told they were taking cars; apparently who ever runs the office and the shop isnt communicating very well with one another. Tired of wasting my time and gas there, better luck with a different smog shop.

Went here 2 years ago and gave it a 5 star review i was greeted apon arrival and the person that greeted me and preformed the smog were very polite, professional and friendly But my next 2 attempts to get my vehicle smoged here was the complete opposite experience. Unfortunately I wont be coming back.

On a Saturday morning, after working 12 hours and commuting back to town, I waited outside Earth Station for more than 20 minutes after their posted opening time with two other ladies for a smog (there were a couple of guys there, too, but they left when no one showed to open the place). Just as we were about to leave, someone who worked there pulled in, walked past us, went inside the office to get something, then came back out and, as he was heading back to his car said, Guys, were not open today, theres no technician coming in. The way he said it was as if it was common knowledge that there was no tech, absolutely condescending, and not very appreciated by any of us who waited patiently. Not only that, but there was no message on their site, and no sign posted stating that they would not be opened that morning.Was pretty happy to not give this place my business, and clearly they lost business from other people that morning too. I ended up going to an excellent smog place elsewhere, and was sure glad that I did as he opened EARLY for me and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.Would not recommend this place to anyone based on this encounter, would prefer to give my business to a professional.

Before coming to earth station my mechanic replaced many things in search of my vacuum leak. thousands of dollars of work. came to earth station and they told me without even looking at it what it was. they had to check to be sure and it turned out to be a 79 cent item that had to be replaced. they also told me i could do it myself if i wanted to. being handicapped with one of my hands i couldnt and they did the work quickly. thanks earth station got a return customer for life.

This is a great place to get your car smogged. I had just been in a hit and run accident and they have a complete mechanics garage. My car eventually got smogged and the next time I need my car smogged I am going back to them. The employees are very friendly and they know what theyre doing. Dude was especially helpful to me and hes like this with every customer. Its a family run business and it shows. They go out of their way to get the job done. The prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend this shop.

Id like to describe my experience but there was none. Got there at 11:30am today when the hours are 8am-1pm on Saturdays and they were closed. No note whatsoever stating why. Very inconvient when your registration is due next week and you took your only day off to specifically go there. I ended up going to Duncuns Automotive. Very nice, quick, professional, dependable and quoted me $20 off.

First time here and will be sure to go back. Best price around. Very friendly and professional. Check them out I think you will be glad you did.

In mid-February, I went to have my car smogged at Earth Station Citrus Heights. Its a 2011, so this is the first year it needs a smog. Ive used this place before with other vehicles pre-2011 and never had a problem.My car did not pass smog. They said that it was a PCV breather hose that had to be ordered and would cost $15 plus labor to fix. They said it would be ordered that day and take 2-3 days to come in. Three days went by and I didnt hear from them, so I stopped by on my way home from work to ask about it.The office person who helped me before no longer works there. Then it turns out the part wasnt ordered at all, so they had to order it. It would take a few days. OK. A few days later, I stopped back in again and they said that they forgot to order it. The guy checked my car and said that the part they needed to order was not the part they had originally thought. The new part would be $140 and would take a week to get.Were into March now, and finally they get the part. They call me and I make arrangements to bring my car in mid-day on that Friday (2 days away) to get this installed and smogged. So I take time off work to go there and the place is closed. Family emergency. OK - stuff happens, but they are due to be open the next day (Saturday) from 8:00-1:00pm and can do it then. I show up the next morning at 7:50am and wait until 8:15am and no one shows up. I am going to have to take more time off work and go back again - calling first to make sure someone is there who can do the work. If I go to another place, I will have to wait for the part to be ordered then too. Very frustrating.UPDATE: Finally got the car repaired and smogged. Shop manager was apologetic and waived the installation and smog fees to compensate me for my time and frustration.

Quick, painless and friendly. Took my Mother-In-Laws Acura RSX up there and was in/out in about 35 minutes. Ill use these guys again.

Unfortunately, I cannot give my Smog experience a good review. As a single mother, I chose this place to take my sons Honda CRV to for registration smog hoping to save some money (found the ad in the ValuPak of savings). I was told it failed the visual check, but was offered a diagnostic at $120. I politely declined and paid my bill of $25. I called my father and he told me he had a bad experience a few years back with this place. He recommended Kenelys @ Greenback/Hazel. Lo and behold, the car passed. I paid $48 out the door, which included smog ($39.75), certificate ($8.25), and courtesy tire pressure check/inflation, and fluid level check. Kneleys cost a little more, but well worth it (as it saved me a questionable $120 diagnostic). Just wish I had gone to them first and saved the $25, as well. A visual test fail is highly subjective in my opinion, and an easy, hard to argue, way to extort more money from customers. The car ahead of us had failed, too. Curious. I do not recommend this shop. Id rather pay a little more upfront, if it saves me a lot more overall. Fortunately, $25 is fairly cheap for a hard lesson learned. I consider myself lucky I didnt fall further.

This place was awesome! Very laid back and quick service! I have a 2005 Acura I bought in November of 2014, the registration was up in January and it was due for a smog test. The car is in near perfect condition and I originally took it to a different Smog place on Fair Oaks expecting her to pass with flying colors. Now the guy was nice but failed my car because of Tampering due to the fact one of the sensors had been purchased from AutoZone instead of OEM, yet its the same EXACT part. I personally believe the guy failed me because I used a coupon that brought the price down from $54 to $24, and he told me I could bring her back and get a half price retest, which would ultimately end up making me pay full price, see what he did there? Thanks for wasting my money :( Now the guys at Earth Station are very fast and their base price for a smog test on 1998 and newer is $25! They agreed with me on the fact that the part was the same, and pointed out that since my car passed the emissions test and no hoses/plugs were disconnected there was no reason to fail the car since that part was obviously doing its job. The guy at the counter was really cool, and as long as you dont ask any stupid questions or act like a dick hell give you a good price! Shout out to DUUUUUDDDEEEE!!!!

I went in and they gave me a diagnoses and smog. I got more for my money than I expected.

My truck failed smog so I dropped it off at 330 in the afternoon and they found the problems and had it done at 10 in the morning the next day and it passed smog with great numbers thanks for the fast service.
