They do not get back until days, if not weeks, later just to say its too late because the window of contact has passed. Not to mention they stated i owe the wrong amount, sent a stranger to my door at night iwth the letter, and have yet to send a correct updated version. Also did i mention when you call there is no voicemail, and you average waitime is about 5 minutes?

I do not recommend renting from Conrex. We encountered so many maintenance issues with them. First issue occurred 2 days after move in when the roof leaked and we were assured it was in good order - only a quick fix applied. Fast forward to 1 1/2 year later and the master bed room flooded as a result of same bad roof. Contractor only tarped in the attic (yes - NOT on outside), so leak continued. When drywall in ceiling began to really sag, same contractor tried to secure with screws. He did this over our bed with no tarps. Ceiling drywall had been saturated so much that we didnt feel safe in that room any more so we were stuck paying for 4 bedrooms but could only use 3. This went on for 3 months until we finally got around to replacing the roof. Never was there any offer to reimburse us for what we could NOT USE. Total disregard for anything related to tenant needs.When we moved out, they miscalculated the final charges repeatedly and when I asked for explanations, I never received any calls back. It took numerous calls and finally after sending my own calculations and spelling it out to them step by step did I get the correct amount back.

I have thought long and hard about what I would say when I post a review about Conrex because Ive been so angry about this house and the companys lack of attention to detail.Right after moving in we noticed outside that there were shards of glass around the house, right below each window. They busted the old windows and put in brand new ones but NEVER PICKED UP THE GLASS SHARDS!! I have a dog! Had he stepped on any, Conrex would be liable in my eyes. I had to pick it all up, piece by piece.Then about a week into moving in, my fiance goes to take a shower and the faucet comes of the wall! Water is not only gushing into the tub but also down the inside of the wall, all the way to the basement, where it then began to flood.There was a time that it stormed and the room we designated as the office had a laptop sitting below the window. Turns out they didnt seal the window to the wall all the way so water was pouring in and JUST missed the laptop.After that we were having more water in the basement. Turns out the foundation is cracked and they just threw some putty on it like its nothing! Its already starting to crack and its a matter of time until it leaks again.We were told not to use bath mats in the tub because it pulls up the paint from the tub. But if its slick, what do you expect us to use??They dont use appropriate paint on the bathroom walls and theres no fan, just a window, so its started to peel.Now skip to recently, we were told our rent would be increased by $400. Were in the middle of wedding planning, 100 days out from the big day and now were running around trying to find a new place to live because weve just had enough and now its too expensive! Honestly, how do you guys live with yourselves with raising rent so high during this market and a pandemic and with a house in such condition?? The house is made to look nice but then the closer we looked, we saw the imperfections, we saw how none of the cupboards were clean. I shouldve done more research first and you all shouldve inspected the house before taking this on. I hope these recent 1 star reviews truly open your eyes and deter people from renting with you guys because it was a HUGE mistake on my part.

Dont rent from Conrex. They flip houses with the cheapest possible materials they can. Once youre in, they nickel and dime you to death. If youre late with your rent, prepare to be financially screwed. They force you to use simplebills for utilities and then charge you a monthly fee for it. When you have maintenance requests, they send out people to repair the issue in the cheapest way possible. Most of out issues were fixed for a couple days then broke again.Do not rent with them.

They took our application fees and approved us just to tell us we HAD to use Simple Bills to pay our utilities. Scammy place. Steer clear. I’m glad we only lost fees and trusted our guts to pass on this place. How are you going to tell us how to pay our bills? Laughable. Don’t do it.

They denied me over information that was inaccurate not updated on a transition rental and an eviction that was days away from 5 years old due to my child being critically injured not negligence on my part with no money owed to previous property,and have good credit and great rental hx sense then and also when I called front desk lady told me they just hired a new lady to handle voucher assistance (my first time being on such, Im a full time nursing student)and it would be available in 2 weeks so I did the application process and got denied due to inaccurate information for which I could prove and then once I e mailed back and said hey you know I can prove this is not up to date she proceeded with we dont even accept housing vouchers this is nation wide you are denied.. uhm its not nationwide your company just told me they do and obviously I just recieved an active voucher this week. I felt really discriminated against honestly and that is unacceptable I am not the stereotypical image of someone on assistance. And its really sad people look at you like that and make you feel that way. I asked Tiffany someone else could look at my situation she would not forward me on I would have been a great tenant clean and respectful its their loss I supposse

I do not recommend renting from Conrex. The home that was rented to us was disgusting when we arrived with our belongings. In addition to finding the place very dirty, there was also an insect infestation. When these issues were brought to Conrexs attention, they were quick to refuse to take any action and very dismissive in their reply. There was no accountability even for the state of the rental upon moving in. We will not be renewing our lease, as we have learned our lesson with this company.

The only thing that I’m going to say is that I’m reaching out to my lawyer and the BBB on this company. I’ve been living at one of their poorly put together homes for about 1 yr and it has been the worst living experience of my life. From flooding, electrical problems, disrespectful customer service agents, dispatchers. Etc. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. There are many other options.

Im in my first year with Conrex, about 10 months in. It hasnt been bad until now. I pay my rent and everything on time. With only 10 days left to sign, Dawn at Conrex sent me a new lease agreement. She informed me rent is going up 5% and now Conrex requires people to use SimpleBills now as well, which also comes with a fee. I feel pressured into either signing or finding a place in 10 days. It is unprofessional and it is not a good way to treat anyone, especially a good tenant. Unhappy to say the least. This should be Conrexs new motto Hey everyone, we know youve been going through a pandemic, dont worry, we are still raising your rent! As a bonus, we arent going to tell you until 10 days before you have to sign again and if you dont sign your rent will go up 20%!. Please never rent from them. They do not care about you.

I’m very very sad and disappointed. I have to say the home I’m renting isn’t the greatest but I love where I’m at. It’s convenient to both my jobs and my neighbors have been amazing. When I need maintenance I don’t get the run around and they have been very nice and professional. I received an email yesterday, not a phone call, but an email to tell me that this home I’m living in is now under vinebrook!! I’m terrified as the reviews left on vinebrooks homes are very disgusting. Conrex could have at least gave me the option to rent another property under them versus just passing me off! I pay a decent amount of rent and have never missed a payment. I could have at least been given that courtesy. It would be different if Conrex itself was going out of business. I’m not happy and I’m not comfortable with this change.

I had been renting a property under Conrex for 3 years now, ending on February 28th, 2021.The bathroom ceiling had mold due to lack of proper ventilation and incorrect paint use.The toilet had to be filled up before you could flush or the tank would leak and the floor would become a swamp.The bathroom sink was added after the tile, so they never screwed it into the wall, just used the wrong kind of caulk, which shriveled up, cracked, and broke off when I was cleaning.The foundation was slanted, you could set a ball down at a certain spot in the hallway and it would roll into the living room on its own.I had been willing to overlook these things and continue renting anyway. However, due to the lockdowns, I lost business and my pay started declining at work, leaving me with less money a month than rent. At first, conrex seemed to want to work with me, and were allowing me to make partial payments, while stacking late fees on my payments.In October, my younger brother died, and I ended up paying for his funeral. Conrex saw this as me abandoning my rent, filing for eviction on December 4th, 2020, even after I had made a large payment (greater than one months rent) on November 31st. This obviously got pushed back until after March 31st due to the eviction moratorium. My biggest problem is the principle of losing my brother and then getting evicted because the landlord doesnt think I intend to pay the rent because of my brother dying, even after I continued to make payments.I only gave them two stars because I loved the house.Other than the problems stated above, I really had no other problem with the house, itself.To whomever gets that house, I hope vinebrook treats you well and you enjoy it as much as I did.

We moved in May 1st to our rental home. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. When you put in a maintenance request you receive a prompt response and quick action. We are very impressed with Conrex and we love our home. Thank you for being compassionate and understanding.

Just an okay company, but the house we rented has some un expected problems with it. Looks like the remodelers or builders only had one shoe on when doing the repairs before we rented it..unlevel as a mf....ray Charles could tell that mf was was unlevel as a b***h....smh

Conrex is buying up quite a lot of property making it harder for good renters to find homes considering their rental criteria. Just because someone has collections on their credit doesn’t mean they won’t pay their rent. My sister applied after seeing that she met their credit criteria so she applied for a home. She was denied because of collections on her account. The criteria said nothing about collections. It just stated it looked at income to debt ratio and your score and to be over a certain amount. They need to add that you can’t have collections in their criteria so people don’t go wasting money on their application fees.Every time she finds a home she really likes it’s managed by Conrex. It’s really disappointing especially considering she’s a nurse and works hard and is NEVER late on her rent, even sometimes pays two months at a time. She has collections because she got in a bind because of a death, she prioritized and the credit cards came last. They should focus on rental history and not credit and change their criteria just a tad. This isn’t a car it’s a home and no one wants to be homeless. Don’t even bother wasting your time applying unless you have A1 credit.

I’ve been renting from conrex for going on three years. Looking back on it, i’m renting a house that is not worth the monthly rent, considering we got mold in the bathroom, because they didn’t use waterproof paint, and there is no fan in the bathroom. We’ve had plumbing issues since the first year of living here, can’t even take a bath, which was been fixed twice but still have problems. And now, we had gotten a late fee, which was fine we planned on paying it this week, and then we started getting messages and emails about legal action being taken if we don’t pay by this day. really conrex????? we are still living in a pandemic and you’re already crying legal action over $60 we are going to pay? Conrex is not worth it.

It has been a positive experience renting from them. Super prompt from the beginning to now renting for a few months. Maintenance requests are fulfilled on time. I recently locked my keys in the house and Claudia came personally from the office to bring me a spare key, what more can you ask for from a leasing office.Claudia also assisted me from the beginning with the leasing process and she was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend! I love my new home :)

My roommates and I have lived in a Conrex property for almost two years. The poor and unprofessional correspondence between Conrex and my roommates and myself is just the tip of the iceberg. Our home repeatedly flooded during the heavy rain season, and Conrex was EXTREMELY SLOW to respond. After our basement flooded a handful of times, we finally got a box fan. I would hardly call that a remedy to the situation. After a couple more flooding incidents, we finally got in contact with the corporate office. They sent someone out to find that the drain in front of our garage had severe blockage, and the situation was finally resolved MONTHS after it first began. Recently, we’ve become interested in moving into a different home. We had several questions regarding our lease and potentially moving to another Conrex property. It took several emails to get a straight answer from Claudia or anyone at the Cincinnati office. I’ve rented for the last 5 years, and not once have I encountered a more unprofessional, untimely company. We’re looking to move out of our Conrex property and switch rental companies at the end of our lease.

I have rented from them for two years now and I cannot wait to get away from this horrible rental company. If you are considering them I would say run away as quick as you can. They rented us a house that is in dilapidated condition and they refuse to fix everything that is wrong with it. We did not know what a horrible shape it was in until after we moved in. They put bandaids on all the issues but our house is now falling apart. My electrical box is not even up to code. You can forget about calling them and getting a hold of anybody to because they never respond. They are extremely unprofessional and flat out rude. We entered into a forbearance agreement signed the contract to be told that we did not sign the contract even though we have a copy. We were told we did not pay fees that we actually did even though they can clearly see that on the website. The place is so disorganized and miscommunication runs rampant. You will be told a different story every time you actually do get a hold of somebody. I will never rent from them again in fact I am getting an attorney because of all the lies that they have told me and the illegal things they have tried to do. This is a horrible horrible company do not rent from them whatever you do you will regret it I promise. I have rented all of my life and I have never had any issues until I made the mistake of renting with Conrex.

Was attempting to rent a property from them. They were willing enough to take our money for the application, but not willing enough to tell us that the property that we applied for and was approved for was already being rented. Told us that it was non refundable and that we had to pick a different property. If the application were denied because we were unqualified that would be one thing, but for a property to be unavailable and still allow someone to apply and pay you money for that application seems like a crummy thing to do.

I’ve been so pleased with our Conrex experience so far. Claudia was very patient and kind in helping us find a house that suited our needs.Upon move-in we discovered that our AC wasn’t cooling as it should. 3/9/21 Update:Conrex as a company is still a good company to rent from, they fix maintenance issues fast and are reasonable with rent, but they have again changed their breed restriction policy. They changed from no breed restrictions to having several breeds not allowed. See my original post, as people should be allowed to rent a single family home with whatever pet they have, it’s a single family home, not an apartment.9/18/19 Update:Conrex is a fantastic company to rent from! They have far exceeded my expectations. Staff is very friendly and help resolve issues quickly. Maintenance is knowledgeable and flexible with scheduling appointments. Don’t hesitate renting with them!1/23/19 Update:They have dropped their pet restriction! Thank you for being sensible!Claims to be “pet friendly” but has a breed restriction list longer than your lease. You rent single family homes, not apartments. You shouldn’t limit people from living in a decent house becuase of a dog.

So my father recently passed and I have to move from suddenly from Cleveland back to Cincinnati to help my mother. I am a full time leasing agent as well as a full time graduate assistant so I make enough income. First, I applied for a house and the next day was told their was and application pending which Claudia did not tell me when I first spoke to her or else I would not have applied!! I waited to hear the family took the house so decided to apply to the others offered. Claudia asked for my contacts for my landlord and my jobs and I have her both! With covid and people working from home I reached out to my landlord and both my jobs to see the best contact method as far as phone and emails for them. I sent them to Claudia she said she couldn’t accept those emails. I provided Claudia with proof of all Pay stubs proving my income and i have her the correct documentation to contact the correct people since I work for a university there are hundreds of apartments so she took it upon herself to Google the university and my company not knowing that my leasing company just got bought out by a new company which will go into affect next week . So now I have no idea where my Verification’s went when I have her the people to contact directly . I feel as though Claudia is discriminating against me because of my age and the income that I bring in all documents were given to her correctly and she took it upon herself to research further and send to the wrong departments now I don’t know where my Verification’s are. I am highly disappointed this was a waste of time and money I could have possiblyMoved in an entire home by now. I want my money back since I can’t get my time . I’m a leasing agent have been for several years I know the business this is not right.

I am very disappointed in the quality of service that Claudia provides. Conrex management should definitely review the leasing process and fair housing laws. First, I want to say that I am not just assuming that I am correct on that fact that fair housing laws are being violated in the leasing process, I am 100 percent sure that they are. I have worked in the Real Estate industry for 10 years. I will not go into exact details because I AM going to file several complaints against the companys licensed broker. What I will say is the lack of professionalism, inconsistent communication, misleading information and fair housing law violations should be enough for anyone who is uncertain about applying for a rental property through this management company to make the decision to not move forward. I will review this company on EVERY site DAILY that accepts reviews until someone from this company contact me.

Unhappy with customer service that claudia li showed My wife and our son and I are in the process of moving to the ohio area in the next week or so my wife is a nurse and Im a japanese imported and fell in love with one of conrex home but because my wife didnt have job in the state of ohio she wouldnt approve our application even though we meet the rent requirements . we are glad we saw the type of business they run before it was too late.

Renting from this place was a nightmareThey tried blaming me for a plumbing problem that was there way before I moved inWhen they became frustrated about not being able to quickly fix the issue; after digging up the entire front yard! They saw there was no quick fix! After almost 12 months of renting through conrex and being pretty satisfied with the company, with the exception of poor work done before we moved in(which was fixed), we received a notice with options to sign a new lease which increases our rent from 1260 to 1323 a month, dont sign the lease and go month to month and pay 1386.00 a month or give a 30 days notice . Upon reviewing our original lease contract it states after we have met the terms of the one year lease our agreement will automatically be renewed on a month to month. Im a little disturbed that weve moved into this house we love and all of a sudden all of these hidden increases are surfacing. We wouldve never utilized this company had we known these things would happen. Now were stuck trying to figure out if we consult someone to have our current lease terms upheld, sign a new one with the increase and start planning to move in a year or go month to month paying over a hundred dollars more until we find some where else. This seems a bit sneaky to me that theyve written up a whole new contract for us to sign. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I was very disappointed with this company. We got the keys to the house we were renting on Monday and found the refrigerator/freezer wasnt working and was room temperature. Took until Friday to get an appliance repair guy over to the house to find out it was an electrical issue and not a broken refrigerator/freezer. The electrical issue took out all the outlets in the kitchen. Maintenance and the main office wouldnt return my phone calls and didnt get a response from the office until at least 24 hours after I sent an email along with multiple phone calls.We also found there was no shower curtain rod in one of the bathrooms. The hot water valve for the washer hookup leaks. We also have ants in our kitchen that have been there since we got the keys. Doesnt seem like anyone spent time to make this house ready for someone to live in prior to giving out the keys. So far I have not been impressed with this company.

I was denied a home because of identity theft and I had to file bankruptcy this seem to be a company where you have to be a prefect candidate. My friend rented a nice home from them and every year they went up on her rent other than that the showcase of houses they display seem to be really nice.

I viewed a property at 10:46a while at the front door of the property. I finished viewing property at 10:59a. I review Conrex’s rental requirements criteria and after being assured I would qualify per Conrex’s requirements I went on to apply. At 40% completion, I had to go to a doctor’s appointment so I put the application on hold until I was finished with that. At 11:27a I received an email from Claudia Li saying my application was at 40% and they were “going to be processing my application” and to send my employer and landlord contact information to her. After finishing my appointment I responded back to Claudia at 2:11p. Claudia responded back to me at 2:17p saying she received my email and have uploaded my documents. I go to the bank to deposit the application fee at 2:41p and while waiting for my receipt to print I go back to the website to make sure the home is still available. At 2:41p it still says “available” on the top left of the home’s listing main picture. I submit my application at 2:42pm with fees paid. As soon as I hit submit and the page refreshes I notice the picture is now gray and it says “approved application”. I call Claudia immediately at 2:42p and ask what does that mean. She tells me an application has already been approved for that property and the property has already been taken. I say I just put in my application 1 minute ago and it accepted my application even when the place I was applying for was already taken. I also told her I spoke with you not even 30 minutes ago and you never once mentioned there was an application put in on the place already. I told her why would anyone put in an application for a place that is no longer available knowing they won’t get the place or their $45 application fee back. She tells me oh well you were denied anyway. I said what, how? She tells me your credit score is 511 on Transunion. I told her that was inaccurate because as of today my Transunion score (which is the credit bureau they stated they check) that I pay for is a 590 and I’m looking at it refreshed right now. She then tells me well you will need to dispute it with them but even then you were still denied because of judgements against you. I said what judgements, I don’t have any judgements on my credit. She tells me that I do and they are collections. I tell her that judgements and collections are two different things and had the rental criteria said I couldn’t have collections I wouldn’t have applied because I know I would be denied and my $45 would be gone with nothing to show for it. The criteria specified judgments and repossessions with balances. I have neither. I have 4 collections total, 2 with balances, 1 no balance as it was paid off, and the other a frivolous account that was disputed and will be removed from all 3 credit reporting agencies within 30 days from September (I have a letter from the company that they sent me as proof it was frivolous and shouldn’t have been sent to collections). However, none of the accounts are judgements and none are repossessions as stated in Conrex’s guidelines. She then told me well we look at collections and judgments the same. I said well maybe you should specify that and not let people waste their time and money. She tells me well you are welcome to pay off all the collections and dispute your score with Transunion and then reapply. I said are you kidding me???!!! I want my money back because all of this is absurd, she says sorry we don’t give money back but I will send you the denial email in about 10 minutes and ended the call. I got the email at 2:54p. It stated denial because of Garnishment, attachment, foreclosure, repossesion, collection action, or judgment and Trans-union Resident Scores under 540. This is not their stated policy. I added pictures of their policy. Steer clear! If you qualify for them you should have no problem qualifying for a home mortgage loan so why not pay into your own dream, not someone else’s.

Due to the covid 19 lock downs, I was unable to pay full rent for 3 months in the beginning of the summer. I did pay partial payements. However, I have made the full payment for the last 4 months and had no problem paying the other 16 months as I am on a two year lease. I asked if I could sign a new lease and pay extra rent until I am caught up on the past due but they declined and are starting the Eviction process. If these are the types of people you would like to deal with then have at it...

I live several feet away from Tenants that are renting from Conrex and it has been a very terrible experience for the past 2 years. They have turned my street upside down. These neighbors are constantly playing loud music, very busy activity , constant visitors at all hours of the day and all hours of night and I am so sick of it! I wish they would go away!

As a lifelong renter, I have never had such a wonderful management company! While there were several things that our house needed immediately upon move-in, and some little things needed throughout the year we have been there, they are ALWAYS immediately responsive to our needs, and Im talking same-day response and nearly same-day action! I give major kudos to the maintenance big dog, Justin (over my area he is anyway), Kelley Miller who helped me with my lease and payments, Paul Phillips, Vince Phillips, Paul Petinelli who also helped with our lease renewal and initial lease questions, Anna Herold who is the fastest responder ever and helps with utilities, and Nick who is our hands-on maintenance man! Theres also Taylor and Jamie, and the local gal who roped me, Raven. Seriously, the whole company is just great! I have no complaints toward this team and am very happy to be staying another year (minimum) under this company! Its pretty cool when you know so many people in a company, and even if its not in their job description to help you, they make sure they find the correct person to do so. HIGHLY recommend!!!

First off, their background search, resulted in FALSE report, showing I have a felony , when I dont. After clearing that up, we were able to rent a home.The house appeared great, at first glance.Come to move in day and it had not been cleaned, as I was told it would be.There was dog hair EVERYWHERE. I had to empty the canister on my vacuum, 8 times , just to run through ( 1200 sqft. ) , 1 time.Everything is cheaply thrown together and started falling apart within first week. (Doors, faucets, toilet seats.)Approaching rent payment day and go to pay on a site that I was told I had completed registration for and the fee would be $3.Theres additional steps to set up checking account , taking 1-3 business days. At that point, you can only use checking for recurring payments.Options for using credit cards / debit cards, come with $26 & $20 fees. (THERES NO WAY SUCH A TRANSACTION COSTS THIS MUCH)So, while their properties may be legit, they are scam artists in soooo many ways!Not impressed.

Very unhappy with their business model and approval process. They seem very skummy and shadey with their business practices of needing a $150 reservation fee that doesnt apply towards anything and needing a full months rent security deposit at time of reservation. They also clearly dont care too much about the homes looking nice when you view them. The yards were unkempt and random things were left over after they cleaned up the house. Additionally, when approved, you are only approved for 30 days. That seems like way too short of a time limit and a cheap attempt to make you pay to reapply if youre move in date is a month later.This place is like having all of the downsides of dealing with a rental company that cares for bottom lines more than their tenants without any of the benefits of them being near you.
