This place should have 10 stars truly! Why they only have 3 stars is beyond me. Because let me tell you, I have never encountered such wonderful, kind, and absolutely amazing staff in my entire life! I made arrangements way back in March to have my dogs boarded for Memorial Day while we took a family vacation. (Animal Ark) I specifically asked them at the time I made reservations what vaccinations my dogs (3 dogs) would need. I was told specifically a rabies vaccine only. So I went and had that taken care of way back in mid April. So I showed up today to (Animal Ark) to drop my dogs off. I was told they needed two other shots before they could be boarded there. Was basically called a liar to my face and that they would never tell my anything like that. They closed at 4, it is a Sunday holiday weekend on top of it. I had 3 hours to try to find someone who would give my dogs these shots or my whole non refundable vacation would be going up in smoke! I called like 20 vets and no one could get us in. I was ready to give up. Then the very last call I made which was to TLC Pet Care Center on Hamilton Ave. Not only did they get us in, but they stayed open and waited for us when they had just closed for the day. The staff was so kind, understanding, and accommodating! I found out they also offer pet boarding and I would have just went ahead and boarded my dogs with them had I known prior and hadn’t already made arrangements somewhere else. I truly can not say enough kind and wonderful things about this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These amazing people saved my baby. My puppy was extremely sick and needed all the help she could get and the vets and their help saved her. I got calls every single day with how she was doing. I was able to call anytime during the day for updates. They saved my puppy with out a doubt. I highly recommend this place to anyone I talk to about it. Amazing vets. Amazing treatments and Amazing service. So so thankful.

I had to switch providers after the expensive treatment we received twice was not working. Once I started treatment at the new vet I learned the medicine I was paying for I was being over charged times two. When I discussed a new treatment due to the cost I was given no other options. The wait times are extremely long. I would not recommend this facility. It is highly overpriced and a waste of your time and your pets health.

They care nothing about your pet after they collect their money. They now take your pets into a separate room “due to Covid” to do the exam and administer vaccines, which I firmly believe traumatized my animals. One peed on herself which is something that she never does, leading me to believe she was terrified and handled improperly. They’re extremely expensive, and lack the compassion and care needed to provide good veterinary care. They’re more likely to push expensive tests and therapies than offer simple cost effective solutions to problems. My cat was throwing up and they wanted me to spend hundreds of dollars additional to the hundreds I had already spent in testing, when it was her food all along. This no cost solution was not one suggested to me and was one I had to come up with on my own. Something simple I could have tried BEFORE spending all of the money on tests. Find another vet and spend your money elsewhere with a Vet that cares!! They’re awful

Took my dog in the other room to do an exam. Only got a list of medications but on one it says injection doesnt say the name of the injection. No paper with the procedures done just the bill and meds.And they over charge you for meds that Dont even work. VERY disappointed my dog is sick and probably dieing but what do they care.

We had to get our dog Thor in ASAP and they really helped me. We thought he would have to be sedated to get his nails clipped because of this anxiety, but they took him back and, Ryan I believe was his name, had no issues and had it done in 10 mins. Michael at the desk was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. 10/10 Would Recommend.

I had a bad experience with TLC before and said I would never go back... but here I was making the same mistake twice. I WILL NOT MAKE IT FOR THE 3RD TIME. This place doesnt care about your pet, and they are the most unprofessional selfish vet clinic I have ever been too. If you care about your pet, DONT GO HERE.

Hi. I was a new client at TLC Pet Care Center and I adopted a beautiful shepherd mix during Covid. I wanted to adopt a rescue dog because there are so many animals that need good homes. Unfortunately you don’t always know what you’re getting with an older rescue dog and she was having fainting spells almost as soon as I adopted her. She was diagnosed with a heart condition at TLC by Dr. Cable. She went over all of the options with me including a referral to a specialist. I was very grateful for the time she spent with me (I know I was a handful!! I was a complete mess). And for the compassion she displayed. They see this stuff everyday and Dr. Cable treated me like a friend. I did go to the referral but the outcome was grim. I am devastated at having loved and lost a sweet kind pet in a matter of months. I know it will take some time but I will rescue another dog. I will definitely take them to TLC Pet Care Centers. Thank you Dr. Cable for your kind words and vet care and the staff for all your support. It meant the world to me.

Money hungry & lack of concern for animals or families involved! 30yrs a client! Til now.. literally sarcastically offered to not help us with our dog that cant walk from a leg injury.. nope cant be bothered with it for 2 days & only if I schedule an appointment. Said if theyre booked no emergencies allowed. So a shot apt or otherwise was more important than proper care & services to long term loyal client.. maybe Dr Cables daughter should find another profession.

I took my dog in on the 28th of December for a ear infection she always gets they have been treating my dog for years for the past couple of times Ive been there service has been HORRIBLE they charged me 160 so the next visit I told them I wanted EXACTLY everything done like LASTIME well her ear infection never cleared up so I called and the lady said they didnt give her antibiotics thats why it wasnt clearing up so I was told to ask for the manager BETHANY oh her visit was still 160 even though she wasnt given what she most needed so if she wasnt given exactly what she had the LASTIME how is my visit still 160 so I finally got a chance to talk to BETHANY and she told me I had to bring her back plus pay an additional 93 dollars ok so when I go back this new receptionist put us in a room for over a half an hour and nobody came in to see us we just sitting there all the while shes laughing and talking to everyone until there was not another car in the lot everyone had been seen and left before she even sent someone in the room so I went to complain like Ive never been through anything like this here whats going on so she kept saying Im so sorry then after waiting 45 mins some new lady comes in picks my dog up so fast and brings her right back did she even clean up my dogs ear ABSOLUTELY NOT IS THE EAR GETTING BETTER ABSOLUTELY NOT I DONT KNOW IF THEY ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT BUT THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND NOT THE CARE OF YOUR ANIMAL IM NEVER GOING BACK THEY HAVE GOT ME AND MY MONEY LONG ENOUGH I RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR DOG SOMEWHERE THAT CARES BECAAAUUUUSSSEEEE THIS PLACE HAS LOST ITS LOVE AND ITS ALL ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY NOT CURING YOUR DOG IM SO HURT AND UPSET HOW IVE BEEN TREATED IN THAT PLACE NEVER AGAIN AND I MEAN NEVER AND IVE BEEN A LONGTIME CUSTOMER AMD WE WILL NOT BE BACK 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

We visited tlc with our American bully on December the 1st we came in for a pre check up and to schedule a c section for our female . The doctor tells my fiancé after examining our dog that she is not pregnant that he has 20 years experience and that our dogs definitely was not pregnant. We told him we had previously had ultra sound 25 days after her Ai and was shown 2 sacs and she would be needing c section the following week. Well we took his 20 years of experience and believed him that she was not pregnant. Last night my dog goes in labor and has to be rushed to anther vet to have c section puppy was Stuck in her birth canal. Last night not only did we loose our puppy but we almost lost our dog too because we was told there was no way she was pregnant. So I now had to pay emergency c section fees unexpectedly 3 days before Christmas this is a major burden on our family finances during this pandemic. Also the loss of the puppy the loss of our time and money invested in the Ai the estrogen test sonagrams and travel . The puppy loss alone is between 6-10 thousand I could only imagine if we didnt go when we did and lost the mom also thank god for being with us. For a veterinarian with 20 years of experience this is unacceptable. We now morn for our loss so we warn you not to visit there and trust them for nothing .

Would not recommend this vet. They are not responsive in calling customers back. I should not have to call 4 times to get someone to answer a question or get a call back. They always try to sneak in hidden charges on my bill that arent necessary things or things that I asked for. Vet will tell you one thing and then the next time you call or have to go in they tell you something else. Very inconsistent. Also the place needs an update and some remodeling. Receptionist is often rude to owners in the waiting room.

Horrible, unprofessional experience. I was given no choice but to go to this vet due to it being a Sunday. My poor cat hadnt peed in 2 days so I rushed him to TLC hoping to find answers. I have never been to a vet clinic where Ive had to pay the office fee upfront, $75 because it was Sunday. The lady vet was very knowledgeable but dressed as though she was running late for drinks with a friend. She was wearing a crop top t-shirt and jeans hair in a messy bun. No scrubs or white coat. She presented us with a surgical procedure costing me $1800 which could have increased if my cat needed to stay another night. I was not offered another solution. I had to ask if there was another option or if he could receive medications instead. The tech then went and got the meds but before giving them I had to sign a waiver saying I was refusing the surgical procedure. I left there disappointed but hoped that the meds they gave my cat would help. Boy was I wrong. Fast forward to another 24 hours and my cat still had NOT peed. I prayed he would make it just a few more hours so that I could call his regular vet.I got him in right away Monday morning and they took him and said he needed to be unblocked. I asked them if this was the the surgical procedure the previous vet at the other clinic had suggested. The vet on Monday said that since it was his first blockage they usually dont recommend the big surgery until the cat has blocked a few more times.I was then FURIOUS about the Sunday situation at TLC center. Please dont take your pets here. EVER. If you dont have another choice like I didnt due to the weekend then at least get a second opinion!

My mother has been a customer here for many years they used to be great but they are horrible now. They are not in the business because they care about animals all they care about is money. I took my moms sick dog there and everything including blood work to figure out what is wrong with him was 140 dollars which was no problem. My mother called to see if the results were back and she was told they didnt take blood because they said I refused it which was bs because my mother was on the phone with me when they said what they were doing and how much it cost. So my mom had to set another appointment because he is still sick and they were trying to charge her almost 200 for the same blood work they were supposed to do the first visit. My mother is on a fixed income and after paying for the first visit plus the charges for the 2nd visit and the new medicine she cannot afford to have his blood work done yet and he is not getting any better with the medication they gave him the 2nd time and I cant even find another vet that is not booked for 2 weeks and I am not sure if he is going to make it that long. My heart is broken for my mother her dogs are her life and we are stuck and its horrible watching a dog suffer all because they lied about blood work. It is like they are not treating the animals right so they have to keep bringing them back to get that money for the office visit plus whatever bogus treatments they come up with. I wish they had done everything in the examination room so I would have known what was done. Because of the Corona virus the vet did the exams in the back room and called my cell to let me know what the next steps were and then the lady also came in and let us know what the doctor said.

Our vet Westside Animal Clinic was closed on the weekend. So we brought our cat here on a Sunday for a urinary infection. It was just a few dollars more than usual. Great staff, great doctors very caring and attentive.

Have spent about $600 in 2 months here and my cat is still sick. They dont know what they are doing. When I expressed being upset with how much Ive spent when they literally cannot tell me anything, even after bloodwork and antibiotics (hes been sneezing and having trouble breathing for 2 months now) and that they want to keep trying things, I cannot afford to keep guess and checking when they dont know what to treat him for. The vet was supposed to call me to discuss next options and never did. My cat is sick and they do not care. Went today to get his medical history and a bag of cat food (they get paperwork together before they let you come pick it up) and the receptionist made me sign in and wait for 40 MINUTES!! And they let someone go ahead of me that came in after I did! So I went to the counter and another receptionist was there to help out and asked what I was waiting on. She told me you never need to sign in and wait for paperwork. I told her the other girl (who was still right there) made me sign in and wait and neither of them even tried to apologize or anything even though it was clear I was aggravated. If you just need prescription food then they can at least get that right. But do not take your pet here for anything more serious than an annual exam and shots.

I was very impressed by this clinic. The doctor was so caring and the staff was friendly. I acquired a new kitten very unexpectedly on July 3 and needed to find out if he was safe to be around my other cats. The clinic was open on July 4 and I was able to get an appointment that day.

I recently had to euthanize my beloved cat. I was and am still devastated as we were together through 18 years of ups and downs. I went to TLC Pet Care Center on a recommendation from my neighbor. I cannot tell you the compassion and concern I was given. They explained the procedure and even when I waffled about whether or not to proceed, they listened and kindly guided me through this process. I cannot relay how important it is to have the right people by your side not just through the wellness of your pet, but to be by your pets side from beginning to end. Thank you Dr. Cable for seeing me through one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do. I will always bring my pets to see you and could not imagine telling my friends and family to go anywhere else. I dont know why there are bad reviews, granted I know hat everyone has a different experience everywhere you go. But my family and I have brought all our animals here for 15 plus years and still to this day with my puppy now. Theyre always able to get me in immediately, and they always try to find the best quality of care that also fits your budget. The receptionist and drs and the techs are super nice!

My dog came in for a check up on 03/10/16, he also got a heart worm test, heart worm prev, all his shots, a fecal exam, and many other things. they have wonderful doctors and staff. i will bring more of my pets here and tell everyone else about them. Their prices are very good as well.

I would not recommend this vet if your animal is sick. They are not helpful nor compassionate and will always recommend the extras that are unnecessary by playing off your love for your animal. Dont get tricked go somewhere better.

Had a sick doberman who needed immediate attention. He was retaining fluid in his abdomen back legs and paws. His paws were cracking and bleeding due to the excess fluid. I had the doberman rescue paying for any and all care by credit card. The vet would not accept the payment by phone with a picture I.d and tax ID. From the organization. I had to load this poor guy back in the car and took him to Grady. They drained 11 liters of fluid. Refereed him to a heart dr who then sent him for further testing. Liver kidneys etc. He was drained 2 weeks later, this time 7 liters. also by the loving Grady staff . 3 weeks later drained 3 liters. He is doing much better and gaining weight now that all of his nutrients arent being built up and drained.The doberman rescue has paid thousands of dollars to make sure he has a good life and great vet care.Its a shame that the hamilton ave animal hospital is no longer my vet after years of being with them all because the owner would not make an exception on how they would get paid.

I also will NEVER go back for any pet related issues. I recently boarded my dog there. A waiver was signed that absolved them of any responsibility should my dog contract any illness while there. So, I know they dont have any legal obligation to make my dog whole again. He had been examined by their vet and given a clean bill of health one day before entering their facility. The next day he entered for a 5 day stay while we were on vacation. When we returned, he was lethargic, he had discharge from his eyes, dehydrated and he had lost 2 pounds! When the vet examined him, he asked where he was boarded....unbelievable. He was diagnosed with puppy cough, but they wanted to keep him overnight at nearly $500 to determine if he may have pneumonia. Its my belief that he contracted his illness at this facility...Considering he was examined by their vet the day before. Yes, I wanted them to eat the expense for the medication he was given for the puppy cough and any further expense due to his stay. But, they would not budge. I would advise anyone considering to have their dog boarded here to think twice.

I took my dog at TLC and my appt. Was 10 a.m. they would not let my dog into a room until 10.15 a.m. they wanted to make sure all monies cleared. My husband and I took turns going outside and working with our dog. Within the time they waited for the credit card to clear and my appt. Was overdue my dog died. It was so sad. Money should not be the number one priority in a vet clinic. Then, I had to file a dispute to get my money back. Save your animals and please go elsewhere. No vet clinic should put money ahead of animal. My dog suffered and I had to watch him die. It was a nightmare.

I had taken my animals here for years but recently they have stopped doing prescription refills over the phone. They now charge you another office visit even if it is for the same medication , or the same condition that originally brought you into the office just 2 week prior.

I would not recommend this vet to any one the vet never examined my dog. I arravied 15 min early and still waited 20 min after my appointment time I was told he had skin allergies and needed shots and medicine I told her I was on a fixed income and could only afford what he needed no extra she then had a vet tech come in and was told 366 for one shot, dog collar and pills she also wanted me to buy flea medicine and food I left there paying 168 unless you have a ton of money dont go there and the worst part was when she said this might not work so you might have to come back in 2 weeks !!!! I took him some place eles the medicine I got was useless so I wasted my money!

Took our yorkie here and was seen with 5 minutes of apppt time..Within 35 minutes was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Picked him up 2 days later and he was back to his happy to see his family of me and mu husband and all cured.DO NOT FEED DOGS PEOPLE FOOD IT CAUSED HIS PANCREATITIS

Our kitty has an enlarged heart so we come often for check ups and medicine refills. Giving 3 stars because it says they close at 6 and we showed up at 5:10 to pick up said Kittys medicine and the doors were locked.. So now we have to come back tomorrow after work to pick up her twice-a-day medicine... If you say you close at 6 then you should close no earlier than 6...

Normally will not slam someone and like to give them the benifit of doubt .but the female vet(owner) was very bad and had no bedside manner at all when our 14 year old cat was dying ,she just wanted to give more time and visits ( charging for of course) and tests. No one wants to put a beloved pet down and to see it and still trying to sell services ..... Just poor business practice

I WILL NEVER GO BACK EVER! My dog broke his toe and my regular vet was not open so I went to Hamilton Ave. They over charged me and made me keep my dog overnight. When i picked up my dog they told me they wanted me to come back in 4 weeks. Aftet the second week his foot began to smell. I took my dog to my usual vet for reasons other than his foot but while there my vet asked to see it because of the smell. He took the cast off and his dew claw was raw from being wrapped wrong. It was also digging into his paw. They think that the claw may fall off. His paw is infected and His leg was losing hair. My vet performed all the same things as Hamilton ave did and it cost me half and they did it in an hour. I would only go to hamilton ave if you need vaccines. Im going to stay with Animal Care Centers.

The receptionist is so incredibly rude. Is she not aware that she is JUST a receptionist, not a vet, has no business talking down to customers like she does. I had my kitten spayed there, she developed scar tissue around the incision that became hard, I had to spent a small fortune to have lysis of these adhesions because she was having problems using the bathroom. Not knowing this, my daughter took our new adopted dog for boosters and heart-worm meds. We had documentation of these tests from the SPCA no even a month old. She told her that she wouldnt accept them and we would have to get her retested for 54.00. These people are dishonest and rude. If you think that youre saving money remember that these are pets that you love and you dont want them in the hands of people that arnt going to be honest and possess integrity. I plan on contacting the BBB as well as looking into the Vet board for investigating the practices and cleanliness of the facility. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Go somewhere else for the sake of your blessed family members. Put people like this out of business, let this lousy receptionist make her 8 bucks an hour at Walmart.

I WILL NEVER BRING ANY LIVING CREATURE TO THEM EVER! I called them last night about 6pm, for a question about my puppy, his eye was swollen shut! THEY told me to come out there so he can be looked at, due to the eye being important an he can lose his eye site. So I drove all the way out there with them KNOWING I was on my way. I arrived at 645..... the receptionist was RUDE, SHE IGNORED me, for 10 mins, SHE was also rude to a co-worker of hers saying ( I TOLD YOU TO LOCK THE DOOR ) WELL after about 15 mins of me being there she asked if I was there for a vaccine, NO I called a little bit ago about my puppys eye being swollen shut an was told to come out... SHE then tells me that we close at 7.... ( okay well I have been here for 15 mins ) she says well I dont know if the doctor will see him, ( well can you ask ) she turns around looks at the doctor who was standing there an says NO shes leaving, you can come back tomorrow at 7 AM.SO I left, MAD.. IM GOING TO QOUTE THERE WEB SITE ( Your pets deserve the best. That’s why they need to be cared for by a veterinarian from Hamilton Ave Pet Hospital and Sycamore Animal Hospital of Cincinnati, OH. We have some of the finest and most qualified pet doctors and veterinary surgeons in the Cincinnati area.Once you visit our state-of-the-art veterinary practices and meet our caring staff of veterinarian techs and pet doctors, you’ll understand why animal lovers have trusted us to provide exceptional wellness, dental, nutritional and surgical care to their pets for over 30 years. ) this place is a complete joke....
