Yesterday, I called the Edwin Young agency to purchase insurance for the property of a deceased person that we discovered had lapsed. During this pandemic, rarely have I made a call where I am not put on hold, transferred to five others, or asked to leave a message. I called this agency and Heather responded immediately and courteously. While there were several hurdles that had to be met, she quickly moved on the application and the property was covered before the end of the day. Great customer service!!!

Changing insurance providers after a decade:Ive been with State Farm for at least a decade and have never questioned my coverage. Ive known my agents personally and vice versa, so when I moved to Cincinnati, I decided to keep working with a local agent. Unfortunately, my wifes car was recently hit in a parking lot and the offender drove off. We started the process of filing a claim, but every time we called we were given different information:- Youll lose your accident free discounts- You had another accident forgiven in 2013- No we dont see an incident in 2013 in our system. We dont know what that accident was so wed have to call corporate- Our mistake, there was no accident, but youd still lose your discounts- If you file this claim, theres a decent chance State Farm might drop you since you filed a hail claim last yearThe threat of being dropped for filing legitimate claims after a decade of perfect record was what finally sent me shopping. Fortunately, I found the same coverage I had plus additional coverage for less than I was paying with another provider. To be fair, I cant say that Ive ever had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Young, only his staff (Michelle and Heather). On the other hand, I cant say that the team did much to keep our business (or our multiple insurance policies).

Edwin has basically been apart of the family since he became our agent while I was in middle school. He has always answered the phone when we need him- even if that call occurs at 2am! We brought my grandmother under our umbrella, which meant Edwin was her agent now, too, and after meeting with her only a couple times in person, he even came to her funeral when she passed away. Edwin is an A+ guy, and honestly idk why you would use anyone else!
