My 6 year old daughter started going to Pride about a month ago and we just love it! Staff is professional. Classes start on time. Huge amount of people and kids coming to learn. They keep it all safe with mask wearing and taking temperature before entering the class.I cant say enough good things about it.And make it all worth it.The instructors are fantastic! Mr. Lara is one of the best. He keeps the little ones totally engaged from beginning to end. He is super energetic and loves what he does.Ive been trying to find a place for myself to practice Aikido, but now I am seriously considering giving Takewondo a chance.I recommend Pride 100%. The cost pays off for the value you get. The discipline they teach the kids on every single class is remarkable and an experience kids wont forget.

We have been a member of the Pride family for seven years. Today our child became a Second Degree Black Belt. The pride in Pride Martial Arts is real. You get what you pay for and with Pride it is first class!!! Yes I could of bought a new car after paying tuition for seven years but new cars dont last forever. The skills Sean teaches to his students last a lifetime. His patience and his pride in each of his pupils is real . He is a world class instructor and person both on and off the mat. He , his mother , and his partner all believe in what they do. Therefore the students do as well. Thank you Team Pride for all you do.

My 3 year old and I went in for a trial class Wed. 14th, 5:30pm. It was my daughters first class and we were excited! From entering the building everyone was very friendly, professional and respectful. My daughter had a one on one 15 minute intro training with a coach, (I do not recall her name) and she did excellent! However, when class started and other kids entered the room, the male instructor seemed unprepared to handle my toddler. Being my daughters first class, she was excited and hyped up and had a hard time following instructions a couple minutes into class. The instructor took her by the hand AND KEPT HOLDING HER HAND FOR A SOLID 10 MIN. At first, I thought this was a normal part of their routine when a child wasnt listening, then I noticed he was excluding her from everything and just kept her in place next to him, so that she wouldnt interrupt his class. I saw the look of disappointment on my daughters face as he kept her held by the hand and went to every child in the room to practice kicks and punches, and completely ignored her. I then noticed that she was struggling to escape his grip, and as soon as he let go (he didnt want to) she ran to the other side of the room and stood scared, just staring at him. We left soon after, and my kiddo told me that the trainer was holding her arm very tightly and would not let go. She also said she did not want to return. This is not the experience I wanted to give my child on her first day and I was extremely disappointed. I have practiced martial arts for over 7 years and have never seen an instructor treat a child this way. This behavior not only decreases a childs self-esteem, but also makes them dislike the sport. If an instructor is not prepared to deal with children a certain age, dont put them in a position to do so! Maybe it would be best to not welcome 3 years old’s, because it seemed that this academy is not equipped for that age group.

This is hands down the best dojo not just in Eastlake but in the San Diego area! The owners are very professional, understanding and supportive not just of our child’s taekwondo goals but also goals in all aspects of life. They take the time to help the kids get motivated especially when they are experiencing some difficult times. When our daughter was starting kindergarten, she was having adjustment issues and was crying everyday in school. Senior Master Berry noticed that something was off when we came to the dojo one time and he offered to help by having a private lesson with Audrey to get her motivated and ease her worries. And it truly helped her cope and excel in school! The instructors at Pride are top-notch! They’re World/ District/ State Champions. Some of them started at the dojo when they were kids and now, they’re amazing instructors and role models. The support staff is great as well. Ms.Grippo and Ms. Gomez are always there to answer anyquestions. There are so many other excellent things to say about Pride Martial Arts but I believe that you really have to try it out. They offer free trial classes and I promise that you won’t regret it. Our daughter tried a class almost three years ago and has been practicing taekwondo ever since. She even said that once she’s old enough, she will become an instructor at the dojo. It just shows how much love we have for Pride Martial Arts!

What a fantastic program for children and families. They really know how educate children in a fun and exciting manner, inspiring the kids to learn, martial arts, and life lessons as well. Their sales/marketing is a bit overboard, but the value they provide for our family has been remarkable.

I rarely take the time to go on line and write a review (being a busy Mom-on-the-run I usually do word of mouth publicity if I like something ) but this time I feel with all my heart that I need to write this for all the parents that might be wondering and procrastinating and might hold off because of the costs they see on paper...and might think of trying other schools first.. I know I did all that.I can assure you that this school and all the classes and programs they offer, the instructors and the way they teach our kids are totally worth what you pay ( and even more actually!) There is no comparison with any other school! And I do not feel I am paying too much at all. I actually feel I am receiving (well my kid is receiving.. but I am too!) so much from this school. Knowing what I know now I would have had my kid start two years ago at Three years old! There are no words that can describe all my appreciation and gratitude and awe for this school and all the people of Pride Martial Art.I decided to start only to have some help with disciplinary issues. Well I got that for sure and so much more than that ! My five years old Sebastian blossomed there. He not only feels so proud of what he is doing in his martial art class, but his discipline and respect at home and in his kindergarten school improved so much in such a short time.Every single person from the youngest instructors to the oldest most experienced ones in Pride Martial Art school is an amazing instructor and amazing example of manners, respect, kindness, commitment, discipline, and I am beyond happy that my kid can be in contact with these kind of beautiful people at least three times a week.Master Berry and Mrs Lizbeth Hann always take the time to salute and exchange a few meaningful words with every kid and parent. They truly listen to parents concerns and take at heart your kids whole growing and improving not only as a martial art but as a human being. You feel you belong to a community when you enter the school. You feel they really care and you are not just a number in their big school.Mrs Grippo is always professional , lovely and kind. All the young instructors leave me speechless for how professional and prepared are to teach little kids, firm and kind at the same time. The lessons are truly amazing. They incorporate life lessons of honor, self discipline, respect of parents and authorities to every class. Kids repeat such meaningful life lessons while kicking and jumping. Amazing. As I say I am beyond grateful to have found such a wonderful place with such beautiful human beings. Try it! You will not regret it!
