Took my car in for a smog check they told us our engine wiring was bad. We asked them to check the brakes, u-joints, carb & window motor. They charged me 330.00 to check that. They said the brakes were fine, We had another shop check the brakes & they found safety issues with the brakes. We asked them to replace the window motor which we supplied, their charge was 194.00. they said it wasnt the motor it was the wiring & still charged us 194.00, but they didnt fix it but still charged us 194.00. They charged 130.00 to inspect the air conditioning which wasnt working. They said it needed to be recharged. Then they said the air blows cold. The freon linked because of a bad condenser. But a sensor was bad which would of prevented the air from blowing cold. Then we were told the engine wire harness was a mess & they could fix it. After about 2 weeks they only had 4 wires done, I told them I could get a harness, & they said that would be great. Three months later it still wasnt done. Every week for the next 3 months they kept giving me excuses, I asked them how much longer, they said about another month. I told them I was done . I drove my car in to have it fixed but had to have it towed out. They informed I still owed them 200.00 more for the wiring work they had done. Even thou didnt finish that job & made it even worse. Told them I wasnt going to pay them anything & they let it go at that. I took my car to a different shop for the wiring which they got done in 4 hours. I only gave R & R 1 star because I had to give them 1 in order to post. These people can & will rip you off.

The following is a physical letter I sent to the proprietors regarding a negative experience - giving them an opportunity to defend themselves, prior to posting my review. My telephone number and email address was included. I never received a reply. In my humble opinion, the high ratings/reviews this organization gets is from persons who are not experienced in working on cars. I am a long time DIY mechanic who wrenches on all my vehicles, which includes vintage European sports cars. I began at age 14, working on my 2-stroke motorcycles...Here is the letter:Paul and Stacey __________ProprietorsR & R Auto & Marine, Inc.14935 La Palma DriveChino, CA 91710February 25, 2020Dear Mr. and Mrs. ___________:Because you have been successful proprietors for so many years, Im writing to inform you of a review I may be posting on multiple websites including Yelp, Google Reviews, etc. Moreover, when I have the appropriate contact information, I always offer the reviewee an opportunity to defend their case, and/or make amends.Im a longtime advocate for the consumer and will present my honest and unbiased review of R& R Auto & Marine, Inc. herein:First-off let me clarify that this review is about R & R Auto & Marine, Inc. This same outfit represents EZ Smog, Uhaul, and a propane dispensary on the same property. I have had excellent service smogging my vehicles and acquiring propane refills. This review addresses a recent experience with R & R Auto & Marine, Inc., the auto and marine repair service.Based on my positive experiences with the smog and propane entities, I have, on multiple occasions, recommended this outfit to others in need of auto mechanic services. Most recently, to my sister, who has been seeing her own mechanic (Jerry) for over 20 years. Shes a blamer type of person who wont let me live this one down...One recent afternoon, my sister purchased an automobile battery that supposedly included installation, from a big-box retailer. However, when advised to drop off the vehicle and battery early the next morning, she was informed that their installation policy excluded trunk or rear battery installations.Scurrying and somewhat frantic to meet her occupational obligations, she came over, told me the story and asked me, What do I do now?Being a hobbyist mechanic for over 3 decades, I took a look at the installation constraints. After suffering multiple spinal injuries as a passenger in a high-speed crash around 2016, I was no longer able to perform certain tasks, which included lifting a heavy lead-acid battery from the recess of the trunk. I lifted the rubber trunk mat and the fabric skirt underneath to reveal the pristine spare tire compartment--underneath the skinny spare tire sat the also pristine, but useless battery in all its glory. Most importantly, I left it this way to allow for quick, easy access for the would-be mechanic. I examined the 2 hold down bolts, and both terminals and said, Piece of cake! The job would take me, a 56 year old man (sans spinal injury) no more than 15 minutes. She called in sick and we caravanned over to R & R Auto & Marine where we were greeted by a relatively unfriendly, obese man driving some sort of forklift-type vehicle. My sister was unfamiliar with the parking situation and was instructed by this man.Anyhow, the car was ready for pickup by noon. The charge, $103.00Further, (but, no biggie to me) the trunk skirt and rubber mat was not put back in place and remained folded near the recessed compartment. All I hear now is, I should have just taken my car to Jerry, blah blah, blah...Perhaps, it was my fault to assume that the auto service division of this outfit would match the positive experiences I had with the others...Mr. and Mrs. ___________, I thank you for taking the time to read this.Sincerely yours,Michael M

Don’t take your cars here you won’t be paying for good work , I’ve taken my truck in there more then 3 times for they couldn’t get it right I was driving home my newborn son and the work they did failed the power steering went out as well as the brakes . Then I told him the situation told me to watch my mouth then kicked me out of the shop . I recommended you do not come here even if it’s your last resort your better off fixing it yourself .

I wanted to give everyone a HEAD UP who needs work on their car to give R & R Automotive a shout. I just had $2,400.00 work done on my Dodge Ram 1500. I have 160,127 miles on it and knew it was about time for major work. In one day my truck was done. The staff was polite and courteous. I watched them work and they knew exactly how to make all the repairs to my care..I would recommend them anytime....Charles Bertollini

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This place really delivered and saved me $5000.00!!Heres my story: For about 3 months or so my old mechanic (that I thought I could trust) told me that I basically needed a whole new engine for my 06 Ford GT V8 mustang. According to ComTires, my cam sensors needed replacing, my timing belt, cylinder 3, fuel injector, on top of about 10 or 15 extra codes. They told me there is no point putting any money to replace it that I need a whole new motor. I have been up there about 20 times in the last 3 months to get them to look deeper and figure out if I can replace what is actually wrong, they kept on telling me no and insisted that I get a new motor. Well, I need to thank my lucky stars (because who has 5000 just sitting around) I was referred to R & R Auto and Marine by the wonderful Mrs. Irene Hensley because her grandson worked here. My mom had told her what was going on with my car and she sent me over to R&R and said they would take care of me (DON LUGO c/o 09!) I dropped my car off early Friday morning to see if they can check to see what exactly could be wrong. They called and said a bunch of the same things and codes came up, HOWEVER!, LOW AND BEHOLD they ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO LOOK IN MY CAR AND DO THE JOB THEY PROMISED ME THEY WOULD DO come to find out, all it was was my cam sensor and minor little things. Walked away EXTREMELY SATISFIED, car was driving like brand new and only paid $600 for everything!! I will only be coming to R&R Auto and Marine from here on out and to top it off, THEY DO EVERYTHING!! and have the best referrals.THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART JEFF AND PAUL AND ALL OF R&R AUTO!!!BTW: because of everything working out the way it did, they told me to buy a lotto ticket. Heres to winning the the Mega Millions!!
