My daughters birthday was the next day and I was in dire need of a haircut... Kandys was the only shop in Chico, that was taking customers and not only did she get me in at the last minute, at 4:30 (on a Saturday no less) but she came in the next morning(on her day off) to do my daughters hair for the big day... You just dont see that kind of service and personal attention much these days.

Firstly, Eye Kandy Barbershop isn’t for everyone. But it’s everything you want and need in a barbershop. I love the it’s atmosphere, the staff are always smiling and friendly. More importantly respectful of my children’s time in the chair. My sons are mixed race and Candy has done an amazing job with their hair. Eye Kandy barbershop won’t let you down.

I’m new to Chico. I researched barbers and Kandy’s reviews drew me to her shop. Asking if I wanted a beer when I arrived was nice I guess? I came for a haircut. The staff was genuinely friendly. I told her I was happy with my prior hair cut and needed a trim. My chair was turned away from the mirror and she went to work. She created a new cut for me that I am far less than pleased with. When I questioned how short areas were”above my ears” she said I should have just asked for a half inch off everywhere. I thought I did when I said I was happy with my existing cut and wanted a trim? Hair grows I guess? A couple months from now I can try again.

Its ok. You just never know what kind of hair cut u will get. Its different every time.

Great, friendly staff. Walked in and was offered a water or beer while I waited by Kandy’s adorable little daughter. Kandy gives a great haircut and was super friendly. The shop itself is great with some cool vintage collectibles and awesome wall art. Great cut at a great price. Will definitely go back.

My son gets his hair done there every few weeks and he always comes home looking amazing, and always has stories to tell about the conversations he has with the staff, especially Kandy herself.

She was very kind and did a really good job on my hair. She made sure to clarify on what I wanted and it turned out exactly how we planned. Also throughout my cut she asked to make sure it was the length i liked which was nice.

As a specialist of Japanese salon scissors I know that these stylists all keep their scissors in top condition. In addition their scissors are also of high quality. To their clients this means they do not tear hair, when styling, causing split ends. These stylists demand quality.

Fantastic place, Kandy is extremely thorough and very fun to talk to. She cut our 4 year olds hair who has special needs and naturally needs extra care, she handled him fantastically and was very patient with him. She will definitely be our new go-to barber.

Saw this place when I was eating at Nobbys. A few weeks later I needed a haircut and decided to try them. So glad I did. Extremely friendly and a great haircut with no wait. Funky decor and a former Paradise barber is working there. Also... I am Transmale and they were super great about serving the LGBTQIA+ community. Haircut was $16.... I will be going back!

Great place to get a haircut

Can get a good haircut but dont expect to be around professionals. Left too many times with hair plastered to my forehead and neck. Last time i was there she was breaking covid procedures and one of the barbers that had no client asked me to repark my car because the sun might shine in his eyes if someone shows up, nevermind that their chairs rotate amd the spot was directly infront of the store. Sorry, careless idiots work there.

I let my mohawk grow out for months after I moved to town. I love my mohawk but it takes skill to cut it right. I was reluctant to just try a random stylist. But after watching a beautifully cut fade grow out for a couple weeks on my girlfriends head, I went to revive my mohawk with confidence. Well placed confidence it turns out, my hawk looks amazing. This woman has a steady hand, a good eye and witty banter. Get your hair cut here!
