Don’t waste your time or money. The counselor (Greg Giles) purposely messes up paperwork knowing that Secretary of State will send you back and they are always happy to charge you again. I guess the owner is a liar because he still works there every Thursday and Friday to this day 9-16-19

I took an interest in Bobby Wright Mental Health Center while looking up agencies within a certain radius of my apartment. At the time, Bobby Wright was pending on my colleges internship list, but became available spring 2018, which turned into open play field for me while seeking out an internship site for fall 2018. The only sad part about it is that I have already been accepted to a mental health center in the area. But I feel that Bobby Wright would be a great overall experience due to some of the residents that I have encountered in the area already, plus after reading one of the negative rating reviews listed. Call me unorthodox, but I could honestly care less how good or bad an agency is when seeking out a 16 week internship site because overall all I want is the experience, and to be able to help clients the best way that I can.My initial visit at Bobby Wright was brief because all I did was went inside to inquire about an internship application, but went in with the goal of getting a feel of the mental health center itself. Furthermore, I do plan on re-visiting again mid-summer for a better feel, plus at a different time of the day with the possibility of encountering more traffic.Lastly, Bobby Wright, or any other mental health center in the Garfield Park area deserves better ratings because of its clients they serve in such a grimy, and low quality area that has dealt with so much throughout the decades.Thomas G

I called for an appointment which I was advised was on a walk in basis. When I arrived I was only advised it was an intake process and I would meet with a therapist on my next visit which was scheduled a week later. I had to insist on seeing a therapist before I left just for her to ask the same questions the intake person asked. My next appointment was to create a plan of care with the same therapist which could have been done the same day within the hour I sat and answered the same questions I answered twenty minute prior. I had to call and insist on and appointment with he doctor. When I arrived I sat for two hours when my appointment was scheduled for noon. The dr walked pass me three times and didn’t check the list at the front desk for appointments for the day. When I asked the third time about my appointment I was advised he was at lunch and will return at 1:30. I gave specific information to be sent to my insurance company with my employer to be told ok and then to learn no one reached out to my insurance company the day of my appointment. I called the next day and explained to the same two people what I needed to be told I need a release of information form to be signed. I was then told I should have signed one during intake and then told I need to come in and sign another release of information form specifically for my insure company. Horrible experience so now I have to go back to the office to sign another release of information form just to have my information sent to my insurance company after I explained my need to a coordinator and a case manager, which seemed to not understand what I needed and was repeatedly told what she doesn’t think the dr can do and I have to go to another dr for that. If you are in your right mind and just need counseling don’t utilize this facility they treat everyone as if they are the people that are homeless and just there for the free sevices like lunch and a cooling spot. One of the worst experiences when dealing with “professionals”. Horrible.
