Love this place. Next best thing to being in Texas. There’s an amazing amount of western wear in here. Everything from boots, hats and shirts, to saddles, belt buckles, coats and even more! Friendly and very helpful staff. I bought a nice pair of boots for a great price. Custom tailoring too if you purchase any of their western shirts. Highly recommend. I’ll be back!

This store is a gem. Went to buy my niece some cowboy boots for her birthday party. Ended up getting a coat and also a hat. The entire staff was so kind and helpful but the gentleman who I believed owns it was the kindest man to my niece, mother and I. He talked about how his father started the business over 50 years ago. He made us feel like family. Definitely my new place. Great shoes and clothing but just the atmosphere made me want to go back. Love this place. Please visit, you will not be disappointed.

Please, if anyone cares about their boots do not take them to get repaired here. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOOTS FOR COBBLER SERVICE AT ALCALAs. I went in for a zipper fix on a pair of boots. The person who took down my ticket told me it would be no problem. I get a call two weeks later saying my boots are repaired and good to go. I pick up my boots after the call and the zipper wasnt fixed. Cool, Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and agree to leave them there AGAIN. They promise me theyll be ready the next day. Two weeks later I get a call saying they are FINALLY fixed. Mind you, the boots have been in their possession for a total of a month now. I went to pick them up, and they added a horrible leather tab pull to only one of the zippers, when I had specifically stated both tabs needed repair. I leave the boots with them YET AGAIN after they say theyll fix the problem. I get a call the next day and they basically tell me they cant fix my boots aside from the work theyve already done. At this point, after all the money spent, Ill take the loss and never step foot into this establishment again.

Greetings! I am having difficulty in deciding which factors make this store so wonderful. Is it the owners and staff who actually run the business or the amazing and abundant product selection? I have to go with BOTH! This is hands down one of the most amazing stores in the USA. I wear a large size boot (13) . I was recently in the shop twice within a 2 week period and managed to procure 5 pairs of cowboy and work boots at unbelievably fair prices. The selection is vast. There is something to choose in every price point and style. The other plus is, that by my estimate ,90% of the boots and socks are actually made in the USA or Mexico. Translation is..... unbelievable quality and master craftsmanship for an excellent price. I also purchased a fantastic cowboy hat. The jewelry is stunning! This store should be considered a national treasure.Now, a moment about the staff and their professionalism. This is old school retail(I am in my late 50s) and I remember what it means to be treated like a customer not a cog in the vast retail machine. I forgot to mention I have been going there on and off since 2000 (Sometimes with a long hiatus ) . Yet, every time i walk in the staff remembers my name. These folks are real human beings with concern for their patrons. A piece of advice to future customers.. LISTEN TO THEIR SUGGESTIONS! These folks are not trying to UPSELL you. They are building a relationship. Leave your preconceived notions about retail outside the shop. You will benefit from their years of experience.Finally, a very heartfelt thanks to the following people: Mani ( for your infinite patience with me and my endless questions) ,Maria - Ditto , Robert for being the true gentleman that makes your shop amazing. My dad has a beloved, old leather jacket that he uses for traveling that was badly in need of repair. Some of the leather was very worn or faded & two of the panels on the sleeves needed to be replaced. He shipped his jacket to me in Chicago to have it fixed (he lives in Hawaii & its very hard to find a place who can repair it since the weather there is too warm for leather...ha!). Alcalas made it look practically brand new & the tailor did such a wonderful job at replacing the panels with new leather. I was worried that everything would not look uniform, but I need not have worried - it looked great! My dad was beyond happy with his new jacket when I shipped it back to him. Thanks so much, Alcalas!

Must visit store for any Chicago cowboy. Seriously though they have a massive selection and good quality jeans and shirts at good prices if you’re not looking to be head to toe cowboy.I visited to buy a hat for a fancy dress party and the guy helping me was pretty disappointed that I wasn’t gonna drop at least two Benjamin’s on a decent hat. Nevertheless he was very friendly and helpful and I won best dressed with my $20 hat that no real cowboy would be seen dead in.

Purchased a belt from here (~$50) and it ripped in multiple places around the holes after less than 2 months of light use. I’m now back to using my $8 Walmart belt that i’ve had for years. I like supporting small businesses, so it’s very unfortunate and I will not be returning

I bought some boots there a some years ago. Best boots I ever owned. Had then resoled once. This time, they told me they couldnt fix them completely, it would take two weeks, and cost $150. I went looking for another pair of boots, and saw nothing I liked. I did get a fringe belt and some chaps, though. The next day, I went to kings shoe shine. They gave me a price of $60, including all necessary repairs, plus a shine, in half the time. So the stores ok for buying, but I wouldnt get any repairs done there again.

Wow!!Amazing store! Vincente Fernandez (famous singer) and Michael Jordon shopped here! They even have size 17 cowboy boots which I thought was really exciting because I’ve never seen boots that big! It was worth the trip out to Chicago from Park Ridge because it was a great selection of western wear and I got boots and a fringed skirt for line dancing at the Sundance Saloon in Mundelin last night. Highly recommend, great customer service and selection and reasonable prices too. Real leather! I got genuine python and leather boots and a leather fringed skirt (that was actually a belt, but buckles on to look like a skirt over your clothes, perfect for country western dancing). Family owned store, great stories, great stuff, must go!!!

The tailor at Alcalas is a true magician. He took an giant mens jean jacket and helped me tailor it to match the fit of one I currently own. So reminder if you can always have Conrado help you with a custom fit. He is amazing, as is the rest of the team there.

In the almost 20 years that I have been in Chicago, Acalas is the most pleasant shopping experience Ive have ever had. 5 stars but deserves more! On my first visit I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked into the door. The customer service is top shelf!! Jose took care of me and brought out the hat I requested and was very professional. The price for my Stetson was the lowest anywhere due to a sale at that time. I typically do not rave about stores but this time I will. I am definitely a customer that is satisfied and will return. Alcalas is worth the long drive into the city for me.I usually hate driving anywhere into the city as parking sucks and is expensive. Alcalas has their own lot to park free so that was another deciding factor in me making my drive.All of the hats I tried on had been in excellent condition. The store was clean. I could have easily spent a whole day in there just looking. I plan on purchasing a pair of boots next trip. Maybe even another Stetson.

You have to go and just see the place. Every boot you could think of. Every size and style. Best selection in the Chicago land area. Staff is attentive and super helpful. Went above and beyond what I would call already too notch service. I tried on a lot of boots, the gentalman taking care of me never seemed rushed or upset. I did buy boots and he cleaned and conditioned them and they are my favorite pair. Again. They have it all , boots, belts, jeans, mens, ladies,kids. Wish I had more stars to give.

Purchased a pair of cowboy boots in August 2015, from Alcala’s, which I lived in for 2 1/2 years when I needed them re-souled. Alcala’s did the job in February 2018 for $85, & they looked good...unfortunately one of the boots started separating at the instep. Their offer to fix the problem for $70 didn’t interest me. My local shoe repair has re-souled my boots over the years for $50 & the souls will last me two years. The manager replied “Maybe he uses better material”. Personally I’m not sure if it’s the material or workmanship, one thing I do know, is Alcala’s won’t see me again

The Stetson that I received is it excellent quality and it arrived faster than the quoted shopping time. The owner was out for the 4th of July but promptly returned my emails and have me a call (though I was busy at the time). Excellent hat, excellent service.

I have never worn a pair of boots before so I was looking up places to go and get a good pair of boots, someone told me to go to Alcalas and I am very happy that they sent me there. Customer service was amazing, I felt bad because I probably tried on like 10 different pairs of boots, but the guy helping me was doing a great job of helping me find a pair of boots. I ended buying a pair of chestnut brown Justins boots and I love them. If you want to get a good pair of boots I would recommend taking the drive up to Chicago to go and get a pair, they will help you find the perfect pair that fits you perfectly

What a fantastic store. There is enough country wear here to outfit an entire suburb of Nashville!! Great one of a kind western wear that you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else & prices that are very competitive. Worth the 1hr drive to visit.

This is the greatest store! The customer service is wonderful, each person genuinely cared about helping me find the perfect pair of boots. I loved talking to the employees and felt that they knew so much about cowboy boots. They also offered to ship to my house in Ohio. The were so understanding when my best friend and I came in 30 minutes before close and tried on every pair we saw because they have some really great stuff. Everyone here is so sweet and kind, and the prices are wonderful!

Stopped in for shirts in a mens medium and 3x for family photos. While it was a semi busy early evening, we were greeted warmly by several people, and had the dedicated attention of a gentlemen named Jorge, who was able to show me several options. The selection is huge, but he was able to quickly show me 3-4 shirts that were all pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Ended up getting jeans and a belt as well, with free alterations on the jeans (too long, needed a hem) and one of the shirts (button moved.) We were in and out in under an hour, give or take 10 minutes, which is remarkable given the size of the shop and selection, as well as getting alterations. All on all a great shopping experience.

Absolutley fanomanal you get greeted with happy workers who are willing to help you find the exact shape, size, and color that you want or need. They also do repairs on boots and clothes I got boots and they went out of their way to put some extra spray and protection on them for no extra cost!

I would not encourage any person to shop at the above. Because I ordered some western boots several weeks ago and they still have not arrived. As you might well imagine, I contacted the person responsible for orders on several occasions by email. This idiot never had the decency to reply and Im still in the dark as to what has happened to my order. I consider that customer service in any business is a very important factor; and considering Alcalas Western Wear are deficient in this area of business essentially means I will take my custom elsewhere in future.

Great place. Huge selection and they honor hat resizes from years back. Got my great grandpas hat resized for myself after he passed and they were very respective and did the work at no cost since the hat was originally purchased there over 20 years ago. Awesome customer service. Love this place.

When asked what part of Mexico I was from, the front lady kept on saying that I was from India or from Pakistan. Repeatedly said “de la India” when I decided to respectfully not say anything. One of my friends told her I was Ecuadorian and then said, “que me traiga cuy”. Felt very offended as she repeated these two phrases while in the store and leaving.
